"Hey!” Boy, but she’s fast, when she works up speed on those wings of hers - it’s pretty much just a green-and-blonde blur that barrels into Jiminy, very nearly knocking him off his feet were she not there to steady him. And steady him she does... sort of. Really she just pulls him in tight and for a moment he fidgets in protest, certain that she’s just going to take off flying and then he’ll be up in the air where there’s birds but - no, she just sort of... hugs him?

He knows what hugs are. Obviously. His mother was very affectionate, way back when he was young, but that was a very long time ago and Jiminy’s company these days mostly consists of humans (and very tall fairies, and Doc), and... well, they don’t even try, and he can’t blame them for that, but still. It’s been... a while. Which might be why he just stands there and lets it happen in an uncharacteristically quiet sort of way before clearing his throat.

I’m not sure which one you mean precisely, it’s either the Pixie Hollow one or the fairytale one with Yoongi cuz I tend to use the term “fae” in association with the latter more than the former

I’m guessing it’s the Pixie Hollow au tho…? In which case ok so, I picked animal as my birth talent and storytelling as my acquired talent… Well storytelling was a no brainer since I feel like it’s the main thing I’m good at irl, and I’m not particularly good with animals irl but I’ve always loved them and wanted to be able to communicate with them for as long as I can remember, so I just picked that one cuz I liked it pretty much lol

Neverfairies can’t actually have any talents other than what they’re born with canonically, but being as indecisive and multifaceted as I am I just couldn’t roll with that tbh. Same goes for when I made Kaz’s and Yoon’s fairysonas, I just couldn’t compress either of them into just one skill yk?

I enjoy seeing you fall sideways into/back into your obsessions because you go deep on talking about it - so what's something you've been really interested in recently that you maybe haven't talked about on tumblr?

Ooooh recently? There isn't much I don't usually just share on tumblr (obviously I have a lot of interests outside of what I share online but I just don't always have a lot to say about them) but I recently re-read the first two Disney Fairies Quest books (those big, hard-cover, watercolor-illustrated books about the Neverland fairies?) and was reminded about how much I love them. They were surprisingly a lot more violent than I remembered but I appreciate how little the author bothered to hold back for a book series that was primarily marketed towards young girls. Like I'm fucked up in the head but I don't think it had anything to do with those books lol.

All of the designs in those books are the superior Disney Fairy designs. All of them. A lot of them were translated well into the eventual style the short one-off books would adopt (save for Queen Ree, big RIP) but the style of those watercolor illustrations were to die for. I sincerely wish we had gotten more of those in Disney Fairy media.

And godddddddds I love Prilla. I adore her. She's one of the products of my old "if a character has curly hair I'm obsessed with them" phase but I was not wrong in choosing her to be my favorite. I think she's very relatable to a younger, more naive me, and I remember hoping that my fairy was also a Mainland-Visiting-Clapping-Talent fairy so that maybe they could be friends with Prilla QwQ;;

"Thousands upon thousands! But you must remember, not all fairies go to Pixie Hollow. Almost every first laugh produces a fairy, sometimes, as we know, more than one. But, very rarely, a baby laugh does not produce a fairy. For years we did not understand why, but we are on the verge of figuring it out. We think, according to Dewey and his predecessors, that some people are never happy. Not even their laughs as an infant are genuine. These people have a darkness inside of them. They usually grow to become violent and dangerous. It is something about their destiny that prevents a fairy being born of them. Fairies reflect their humans in almost every way. The way they look, they way they feel and act, their mannerisms, their personalities, the things they like and dislike, are all very similar, if not identical. Perhaps, in that sense, we are lucky a malevolent fairy is not born of a malevolent person."
