I'm knee deep in Golden Rose hell and upon my second replay I'm more and more certain I need to have someone to romance Alain with.

And actually meet up with Vallen because she's so sweet and I keep turning her down because that's in character and the beebs aren't listening to me.

At this point, I will just admit I like thinking of ideas for crossovers. This time I've been thinking of many different kinds of crossovers, whether it been My Hero Academia crossing over with One Piece, X-Men crossing over with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or even Devil May Cry crossing over with Darksiders.

Speaking of that last one, I can imagine Samael and plenty other demons knows of the Sparda lineage on Earth, they just keeps shut about it for their own reasons. The Horsemen may learn about the Sparda lineage at some point, like say Strife and Dante having a friendly rivalry as gunslingers.

Imagine, the Horsemen hear rumors of a demonic tree sprouting on Earth, but by the time they get there the Qlipoth has been severed. Some Demons are still roaming about but Nero gets to the them before the Horsemen do. Maybe the Charred Council don't do anything because TECHNICALLY a human summoned the Qlipoth to Earth, not a Demon, even if Vergil also counts as a Demon.

Another idea is that Nero, Kyrie, and Nico are still surviving on Earth after the End War has winded down, maybe along with other survivors. Nero would definitely kick some ass, but I doubt he'd have an idea of what to do exactly. Sure, the big tower looks important, but how does one exactly stop it's construction or get in, depending on the time frame.

thinking abt sabito lives design again & i started putting him in situations and reminded myself of my hc that he does origami in his off time

my original vampire!sab outfit idea, his white haori's sleeves seem kinda short on him as a 13 yo ghost so actually growing to 21 hed probably need to extend it, so why not recycle his funky pattern shirt for it? yellow-green geometric pattern along all the edges, and for a sabito lives in place of giyuu au why not attach his red haori on the inside

something something sanemi stopping by the water estate for whatever reason, sabito being a good host asks if he wants some tea and starts to leave to make some, "where are you going? thats tea there isnt it?"

"not the kind you'd want. its mushroom tea, the funky kind."

"the hell are you drinking that for!?"

"lets me see ghosts."

"...you're sick in the head."

"not wrong, but thats not even top five of reasons why."

them chilling drinking tea & talking abt nothing and after a bit sabito starts smiling at thin air, theyre still talking but he keeps glancing over at nothing and when theres a lull in their convo he turns to talk to said nothing "why are you being so quiet?" (i never see you talking with anyone....i dont want to interrupt) "but i like talking to you.." (you can keep talking with him, i'll still be here) a little huff before looking down at the drink in his hands

"who are you talking to?"

"my best friend."

sabito coming home from a nasty mission and doing his usual wash-up routine & finally sitting down in the main room. then The Horrors hit. (FuckingfailureWasntfastenough) eyes unfocused and unseeing, (BlueeyesLongblackhairSofuckingyoung) world closing in and feeling like its about to explode all the same, (ScreamofdeathSilenceNofuckinghead) thick tears pooling around his forehead pressed to the floor, (WEAKTOOSLOWFUCKINGIDIOTWRONGDECISIONBLOODONYOURHANDSBRAINATYOURFEETBLOODBLOODBLOODBLOOD)

"SABITO-SAN!?"

the lady housekeep he hired finding him unresponsive curled up on the floor face down hugging himself while shaking like a leaf, freaking the fuck out thinking hes dying of shock or something- pulls him to sit upright leaned against the wall, try and fail to see if hes hugging himself bc of a wound bc hes just. fucking holding onto himself so tightly. white knuckled muscles locked in place. sends a crow to the butterfly mansion for an emergency and sprints to get the nearest doctor, they arrive and hes not moved from where she propped him up, doctor checks his eyes and sees they respond to light theyre just not looking at anything, tries a few taps on the face and the housekeep worriedly calling out for him. nothing. doctor apologizes for what theyre about to do before slapping the Absolute shit out of him.

knocks him over and his hand suddenly snaps out to latch onto theirs to a painful degree, eyes focused and full of fury before it shorts out to confusion. he blearily lets go of the doctor and hisses at the stinging pain in his face, "the fuck hap-ppened?"

"you were hugging yourself on the floor- and you wouldnt respond- you were just shaking!"

"what do you remember?"

(BLOODBLOODBLOOD)

he recoils slightly and shakes his head, "g-give me a minute. fuck.."

"take as long as you need"

focusing his Breath as he haphazardly scrubs his eyes dry with the edges of his sleeves, leaning back against the wall. just breathing for a moment.

"I came home. took a quick bath to-" (wash off the blood) "wash. changed clothes. sat down to do- ..something.."

"do you not remember what you sat down to do?"

"not like that- whatever there is to do. Something. anything. i usually do origami.."

doctor talks yadda yadda makes sure he doesnt have immediate brain damage or actively bleeding wounds & leaves with their promise of another doctor on their way

"sabito-san..? what exactly happened..?" he softens a sad look at her

("my mother used to help keep this place up for the man before you." he smiled, "eh? your mother kept the place intact for my mentor. how nice that you're here to help me out now, ne?")

"bad mission, ("oh..") there was a young boy. i fucked up, the demon killed him." he inhaled through his teeth, "i had to tell his family while covered with his brains."

she recoiled, reached out to lay a comforting hand on his shoulder, "im so sorry..."

he let his head loll back against the wall, "its fine"

"its not..."

"its not. but it is what it is, and its over with."

"...kocho-sama should be on her way."

he quietly groaned, "thank you. ...was it that scary?"

"you usually hide it with some sort of smile. i cant imagine how you do that if its bad enough to make you look like youre dying when you cant stuff it away anymore.."

"heh, sorry to scare you like that..."

"dont be. talk to kocho-sama and see if she can help you. i just dont want you to be in so much pain.."

he smiled genuinely at that, "you really help. talking with you and helping with chores makes it easy to smile."

easy to forget that hes alone. easy to forget pretty piercing blue eyes, what they look like wide with fear and never what they look like in death. blood that tints his memories old and new. blood that he coats himself in, blood he refuses to wash away- blood thats all he has left of him.

sabito has a little stall at the end of the market in the nearby village, just big enough for himself and a few bundles of paper, out of the way of the busier sections. most people pass seeing how he only has a few paper figures and a bunch of colored paper to sell. a few stop by, intrigued by what he could possibly be doing here.

"whats your favorite animal?"

they answer, he picks out a piece of paper and starts folding, he gives them a little guy

"you never said how much??"

"i dont need money, i just do it 'cuz its fun. want another one?"

people bring their friends to get a little paper creature, talk and laugh, enjoy their new little guys. it makes him smile.

a lady walks up, cant name a creature so he suggests a surprise animal based on her, "sure." he starts folding, eventually she recognizes it "an elephant!?" "yeah," not really looking at her as hes finishing it, "theyre kind animals, 'gentle giants', but theyre still very powerful. predators have to pick off the sick or young because the healthy adults are too strong to be brought down. smart too. i also read that theyre matriarchs- the oldest wisest female usually leads the herd. she shows everyone how to be an elephant, where to find food, how to navigate their world, safest places to travel. she's their guide and teacher." he sets it down closer to her, "you make me think of an elephant."

"oh," she looks at him stunned, "thank you."

he smiles, "careful not to squish it, if you do though i can just make another one for you. have a nice rest of your shopping trip."

(not gonna get into story stuff bc ive talked abt it at length here)

so im came at this as a person who isn't really a Gamer, and has never played this type of game and honestly? it was suuuuuper beginner friendly which was a blessing because i become a button masher anytime im overwhelmed lol. I played on human because... well... I sure wasn't gonna play any other mode lol. anyways it took me a bit to understand the combination of buttons but i got in the back half of the game! vergil was beating my ass during dantes fight (naturally) but i just revived (twice... that white man was beating me. bad) and that didn't bother me too much because. well. im here to have fun, so if i gotta revive then im gonna do it. with dante i mostly stuck to rebellion/dsw but i tried (heavy emphasis on tried) to use cavalier bc i think cavalier is the coolest devil arm.) and now that ive played the game im even more confused as to why people hate playing v. he was great! nero was also great, though figuring out all the devil breakers was a overwhelming. and dante was perfect :D

anyways yeah!!!!! had a lot of fun!!! very happy i bought it. and i got the special edition, so im gonna start making my way through as vergil.

(sawrry this isn't more in-depth abt the gameplay, im not really good at describing that)

the blame on apollo in toa

okok have more toa rambles abt my blorbo tuck in y’all and enjoy (as much as you can..?) tho he's like "oh everything great is me! i cannot do anything remotely wrong in the slightest!" and in the ant's nest he pours out his heart, he blames all his failures on himself, he confesses he is the worst. the worst of them all. to save this little street urchin he met like 1-2 days ago. he blames himself for his greatest failures, his mistakes and how that led him to the loss of his most dearly beloveds daphne and the tragic death of hyacinthus. tdp he's still somewhat in that stuck-up act of his, but he asks himself: "was there anyone who i haven't failed in my past?" and he said no (as a literal ghost hovers around him, whose death was blamed on him by his son). trophonius blamed him, and he agreed. he would have died to save again, that little street urchin who had betrayed him in the last book, and he centered all the blame and tried to put the target of wrath on himself instead. tbm he's really into it. the most plot-important one i'd say is jason. for a brief moment, he is levelly seen as a brother, but despite literally stabbing himself in the chest, he decided it was all his fault, he wasn't brave enough, if only he had been better to dodge the inevitable fate of the demigod stated in the prophecy. he later blames himself for not being a god at that moment for saving money maker; he mourns the death of crest because he sacrificed his future as a music god to give apollo time, and he blames himself for being so helpless, for being stuck being literally flayed alive for his essence, finishing a prophecy and scorched and tied down by burning chains. this dude is not ok in ttt he sees the little "presents" tarquin/emperors laid out and cherry picked for him, and clearly sees all his wrongs in them and how they ended up. i think you know where this is going. if you guessed "he blames himself", you are correct! (unfortunately, you don't get a unicorn from me either.) he blamed himself for all those things. but reyna decided to tell him it's ok. he has done bad things, but he can move on from them and do better bc he can, now. he now has the power. in ton he was.. a little stronger on the blame front. i can't think of anything rn that he blatantly blames himself for, but he did end up going into that tower to nero, so he clearly didn't want to be blamed for like, causing the destruction of nyc and the conquering of the world by this evil purple roman emperor/capitalist basically, he blames himself for a lot of things throughout toa lol

I’ve been liking Lilim Harlot and how it’s been portraying Draco and exploring how Nero might qualify as a Beast. Even the hints that Agrippina will be the main villain/instigator look interesting after years of smaller references.

But I really hope the story doesn’t go too far in blaming Agrippina for all of Nero’s issues or do anything like Nero only became a Beast because of Agrippina. Let Nero have her flaws and overcome them rather than just shift the blame to a less sympathetic target.

Random Nero Wolfe Thought

So, I’m reading a Nero Wolfe novel, as I do.

And at one point, Nero decides he doesn’t want to work on the case at that moment and picks up a book to read, as he does.

The thing is, that book? Silent Spring by Rachel Carson. 

This is fucking with me something fierce. Like, intellectually, I am aware that we’re up to books that were written and published in the ‘60s but it’s still blowing my mind. Like...the first book mentions Wolfe and Archie celebrating the end of Prohibition!

Still kinda thinking about LoL/DMC crossover ideas, and you what? I'm thinking Pantheon and Vergil would take issue with each other. One, essentially a God who revels in being a mortal man, the other a man who wished for so long to be a immortal Demon. Or at least something like those.

Pantheon would probably get along with Dante and maybe Nero. Nero has a very interesting attitude, where while he's a lot like his uncle, he is also a lot like his father. So him and Pantheon interacting could probably go either way.

Or even thinking about the Sparda family meeting Kayle and Morgana. Both sets of twins are pretty similar. One is more proud of their non-mortal side and wishes to be more like their non-mortal parent, while the other takes more pride in their mortal side and cares for the mortals around them.

I feel like Nero would get annoyed by Kayle and be okay with Morgana. Something like he doesn't get either of their attitudes and mindsets but the latter he can kinda vibe with while the former he can't.

I'm only kinda thinking of basics here, probably gonna think more about this and other interactions. You got any? Don't be afraid to share.
