At this point, it would be severely inadvisable – economically-speaking, at least – for Cleo Sol to change anything up in her sound, at all. And she doesn’t do so on either of these new releases, which is no doubt marvellous news to her many very trendy fans. For me, however, I’m still left unimpacted; this sort of stuff sails past, pleasant but unobtrusive and unnoticeable. Of the two, Gold – with its added rhythmic complexity and gentler prowess – edges.
