hi!!! thanks @special-bc-ur-part-of-it for the tag- im just getting around to this ;;

i keep going back and forth about whether or not to post about this wip because its entirely self indulgent, but, like, why not?

so….im writing a klaine!clueless au :,) klueless, if you will

except, well, not really, because kurt is nothing like cher, and certain plot points in the movie dont resonate with me. so, i’ve taken some liberties, and its more loosely inspired by the movie than a beat-for-beat rehashing, but….i’m having fun !!

working title is ‘ugh, as if!’

“Don’t you look happy.”

Kurt turns to face the source of the voice and groans.

Blaine. Blaine’s there because the universe is apparently testing Kurt today. To make matters impressively worse, Blaine’s leaning his back on the kitchen counter, biting into Kurt’s last apple. “I was going to eat that,” Kurt says as he opens the fridge and tries to find something else to eat. His dad or Finn needs to go to the store today; options are few and far between, and what’s available looks bleak.

Blaine comes over, hovering on the other side of the fridge door. “That’s quite the outfit.”

Kurt’s eyes flick down to what he’s wearing- a canary plaid cropped suit jacket and matching pants, a yellow vest, and a white button up with an appropriately yellow neckerchief to tie it all together- “It’s designer,” Kurt says with an eye roll. “Dolce and Gabbana.”

Blaine lets out a hum and takes another bite, apple juice offensively dripping to his chin. “Sounds fancy,” Blaine says with his mouth full, all unbothered and irritating.

Kurt, grossed out, turns his nose up. “Being able to appreciate my outfits is unfortunately above your-“ Kurt has his eyes pointedly rake over Blaine, from his worn converse to distressed jeans and up to frumpy flannel and graphic tee, layered under an Ohio State zip-up hoodie, “-intelligence.”

Blaine’s smiling, loving Kurt’s dissatisfaction a bit too much. “Hey-I’m the one in college here,” he quips. Another bite, and, around another mouthful, tapping his temple, “I think that shows that I have something going for me up here.”

“Weird. Your college looks a lot like my kitchen.” Kurt pulls a yogurt out of the fridge and closes the door. He turns to fish around for a spoon in the neighboring drawer, and tersely asks, “Don’t you have class anyway? Why are you here?”

does this interest anyone else ??? or is imagining blaine as paul rudd just a niche fantasy….. LOL

Klaine Advent Day Eleven : Education

December, 2022

Kurt’s knees were killing him.  He had been kneeling on the bathroom floor for nearly twenty minutes, trying to get his two-year-old to sit still long enough so that he could wash her hair.  Dinner had consisted less of eating and more of dumping peanut butter on her head, and Kurt was tired enough that he had half a mind to just shave her head completely.  Child protection services couldn’t be called for shaving your child’s head, right?  Plus, Katie could totally rock the bald look.  She did as a baby.  But, despite wrestling with her to get the water on her head and not everywhere else, he could never cut her dark hair, which curled up like her father’s when dry.  

Kurt wasn’t the only one struggling.  From the other room, he could hear six-month-old baby Tracy wailing bloody murder. Kurt’s head pounded - he just knew they were going to get another complaint from the neighbors.  And with everything going on, he just didn’t need to deal with the obnoxious college students next door that sometimes children were just loud, and maybe they should turn down their music.  

God, when did he turn into his dad? 

“Blaine!” Kurt yelled.  They had made a trade off -- Kurt would take care of the peanut butter disaster, and Blaine would clean up dinner and take care of the baby.  It seemed, when they made the decision to have a family of four, that the two of them would be enough to cover it all.  They were definitely getting an education in how that had been a naively stupid assumption.  “Blaine!”

“Blaine!!” Katie scrambled at the topic of her lungs.  She giggled, amused.  She had taken a real liking to Blaine’s name, and enjoyed shouting it when she thought she could get away with it.  

Kurt eyed her sharply.  “You need to sit still so we can get your head clean.” 

She promptly stood up.  “All clean!” 

Kurt let out a grunt as he tried, again, to use a washcloth to gently pull the food out of her hair.  

A moment later, Blaine came into the doorway, baby Tracy happy and making cooing sounds, resting on his hip.  

“What was going on in there?” Kurt asked.  There was perhaps more irritation in his voice than he intended.  

Blaine grumbled.  “What was going on?  This is what’s going on.”  He gently bent down, lying Tracy on the carpet just outside of the bathroom.  The minute he let go she started screaming again.  “Your child is refusing to be set down.  I can’t get anything done out there.”  

“My child?” Kurt whipped his head up at Blaine.  “Well, your child seems to think that personal hygiene is an optional choice.” 

Blaine pursed his lips together.  They were both tired, no doubt.  And it had been leading to these little snippets of arguments.  At least they both knew not to take it personally.  At least they both knew that these days would be temporary and at some point, when they were actually old, they’d get enough sleep again.  Kurt was sure some snarky remark was on the tip of Blaine’s tongue, but, being the better person than Kurt often was, thought better of it.  “Do you want to just switch?” Kurt could feel the exhaustion in his voice.  

“Yeah…” 

Kurt pushed himself up, annoyed that it took just a slightly bit more effort than it used to, and traded places with Blaine, the baby being handed off in the process.  The second, however, that Blaine let go of Tracy, she began to wail again.  Kurt put his head against his screaming child’s.  “C’mon, sweetie.  You can live a few minutes without your daddy.  I somehow managed for years.” 

That got Blaine to chuckle a little, but the humor was short lived.  Blaine had just settled in, rolling his sleeves up, when Katie started splashing around.  

“No, Blaine! NO, BLAINE!” She protested, not wanting him to come close to her with the washcloth.  

Blaine looked up at Kurt, helplessly.  

Kurt clicked his tongue.  “Don’t give me that look - you’re the one who wanted two.”  

“And you’re the one who agreed with me.” 

“Yes, well, the sex was very convincing.”  

Blaine let out a noise that was half way between a laugh and a sob.  

Kurt bent down, and gave the top of Blaine’s head a kiss.  Their life was insane.  Wonderful.  But insane. 

“C’mon, you,” Kurt said to the baby as he turned to leave. “Let’s find something to distract you with so I can try to get the dishes done.”

The coworker hatches a scheme to humiliate Blaine by hacking the secretary’s email and sending Blaine to an off-site studio for his “interview”, where he meets up-and-coming playwright, Kurt Hummel, while unknowingly auditioning for the movie adaptation of Kurt’s hit Broadway musical.

I'll Cover You (1,315 words)

Summary: Blaine is a theater professor whose class is currently discussing the musical RENT for an assignment - a musical that his husband, Kurt, just so happened to win a Tony Award for. So, Kurt drops by Blaine's class to discuss the production with them.

Shall We Start Over? || Kurtbastian

The infamous Klaine had risen all the way to the highs of marriage and fallen to the struggles of divorce. It was something that nobody had expected, but everyone involved was taking pretty well. Another thing that nobody expected was Sebastian reaching out to Kurt to make sure he was okay, and the two of them being able to get along. More than that. Sebastian had reached out well before the marriage ended and though it had been touch and go after the divorce, they were friends again. So much so that Sebastian had asked Kurt to come over and had offered him a place to put his things. What Kurt didn’t know was that he was about to walk into an offer to move in as well. There was a knock on the door and Sebastian opened the door and the scent of dinner wafted out and greeted Kurt with the French man’s smile. “Hey here, stranger.”

Even if it wasn’t an easy pill to swallow, in the end it had been the right thing to do. Even if between them deciding to separate, and the actual divorce there was some amount of time, both Kurt and Blaine realized it was best not to continue to postpone the inevitable, and go on their own separate ways, if anything for the sake of saving enough that would keep them friendly-ish for their daughter’s benefit. On the other hand, there was the unexpected fact that none other that Sebastian Smythe was the one reaching out to him, not only before their divorce was final, but after, making sure that Kurt was okay. And even if it could had been easy to blame him about what was happening in his life, Kurt knew in his heart he couldn’t blame him. Besides, there was this odd, and somehow warm feeling of what was slowly becoming a truly unexpected friendship. When Kurt was looking for a smaller, cheaper place to move, Sebastian offered a spare empty room at his studio as storage for his things, and with him still looking, he now found himself knocking at the door of Sebastian’s apartment that evening, after leaving Ann Marie with Mercedes for the night. “Hey there yourself, sir” he said with a soft chuckle when the door was opened, the delicious smell immediately filling his nose. “Oh wow, something smells good. May I come in?” he asked, while still standing at the doorway.

There was no way to deny to himself how guilty he felt about the Klaine breakup. He was Sebastian Smythe, after all. The very same man that had tried to break them up before, and the very same man that reappeared only days before the marriage started to deteriorate. Whether or not it was already going in that direction, he didn’t know because he hadn’t been there, so the way things looked… this might be his fault. But reaching out to Kurt was more than guilt, he’d found before the crumbling that he really did enjoy the other man’s company. When he opened the door, it felt more like he was welcoming a fellow Warbler than a previous rival in love. An enemy. Or worse, someone he felt bad for. He was greeted and feigned getting comfortable, leaning up against the door frame nonchalantly. “No, I thought I’d host this little meeting right here at my super comfy front door.” He let the joke sit for just one second then shook his head, chuckling at himself as he stepped back and gestured towards the inside of his home. “Come on in, that scent you’re smelling would be dinner, so I hope you’re hungry.” No mention that dinner wasn’t required for the scheduled meeting, since they had only planned to do things that involved Kurt storing his stuff.

Kurt narrowed his eyes at him, but it was all in playful banter. “As quint as your neighbors may find that as they walk along the hallway, I think we’ll be more comfortable inside.” He watched Sebastian laughing and stepping back and Kurt put his chin up just a bit. “You never know- I may be a vampire, and I was asking for your permission to go in. Now-” He walked past him, making a soft wave of his hand. “- it’s too late.” He turned around and smiled playfully at him, then looked to where the delicious smell was coming from. “Actuall, I am. I… skipped lunch, so basically I haven’t eaten anything all day. Lots of coffee, that’s for sure!” He giggled, then took his jacket off, and placed it neatly on a chair nearby. “How was your day?” he begun to ask, then put his hands behind his back. “To be honest, I was surprised that you invited me to your place.
