My Favorite Wayhaught Moments #1
Just want to make a note before we continue on, but these are not listed in order of favorites. I’m going chronologically through season four (only the first six episodes have aired as of this posting) so without further ado, let’s talk about these beautiful soon-to-be wives.
Their First Kiss - S1 E9 "Bury Me With My Guns On"
Waverly Earp is one of the most endearing characters I’ve seen in a long time. In fact, she reminds me a lot of Willow Rosenberg from Buffy, the first "oh shit I'm gay" character I remember watching.
The reason I love this moment so much is Waverly is going for what she wants in the messiest way possible. I don’t know how Nicole didn’t get whiplash with how she went from “just friends” to attacking her with her lips. It only makes it funnier that it happens in Nedley’s office. That couch is iconic.
Tumblr media
And I like Waverly’s speech a lot. Though I cringe every time she mentions wanting to go far out into the ocean because yikes. It’s adorable to watch her ramble and I think the scene is well written.
Tumblr media
I will probably end up saying this over and over but the chemistry between Kat and Dom is ridiculous. I love it and I love them.
Tumblr media
The scene is a combination of funny and sweet. Maybe a little sexy.
It's Waverly at peak disaster queer and I’m fucking here for it.

4x12 - Old Souls
Wynonna Earp's over. I'll do pretty much anything to get another season, but shows (not that I think that this show could ever get to that point. id still love WE even if it turned into whatever Grey's Anatomy's doing rn) shouldn't overstay their welcome. If this is the end, than it was a damn fine ending!
-
The cute.
I've been watching Martina sing since I was 11 years old, and it still puts a smile on my face. Rachel was iconic as always, and I'm gonna miss the most recent addition to the Earp family. I can just imagine the chaos of her, her not really but kind of boyfriend, and Randy Nedley on a tiny boat in the middle of nowhere. Poor Nedley. Let's hope Chrissy remains the only one of his many daughter figures to catch mono.
Speaking of mononucleosis- that's such an awful transition that i'm keeping it, I believe that Wayhaught has officially christened the entire homestead. Bedroom, The Stairs, kitchen floor, barn- short of just going to pound town (i'm not getting any better with sex references tonight. am i) in a patch of grass outside, they've got everything covered. Or nothing covered if you know what i mean. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Am I getting better now?
-
The random.
Nedley walking Nicole down the isle, Wynonna walking Waverly down the isle, Doc being Waverly's best man, and Wynonna being Nicole's best friend (no she will not take a secondary title. best friend will go on her tombstone)- sigh, i'm so gay. i can't really explain what that has to do with these circumstances, but i am and this makes me happy. Rachel and Nedley (and Billy was there somewhere right?) being the only people in attendance made this the perfect pandemic wedding even though there wasn't actually a pandemic in Earp land. I was the living embodiment of the pleading face emoji when they panned over the chairs. Doll's chair hurt me. like deeply. like i'm still suffering. there aren't words. fuck, i miss him.
On a lighter note, Waverly said fuck (like eight times)!!! She technically said it already, but chainsmoking-angelic possession doesn't count, right?
I'm glad that Jeremy has this new thing with Damon, but I kinda wish things had worked out with him and Robin. He officiated a wedding, got promoted, and got a handsome date in one afternoon, so I can't be too sad about his adorable self.
Charlotte Sullivan, the jilted dress shop owner/witch, played one of the earliest (in my knowledge at least. this show was my brother's thing not mine) representation of a bi woman in Canadian media. I don't know too much about her Rookie Blue character, but if you can have tolerated the will-they-wont-they, end of the world romance of the main character's kinda mediocre relationships for a couple more seasons, I'm sure you'll find out! By the nature of Canada having 16.87 actors in total, I tend to see a lot of overlap, and I have to infodump about that somewhere. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The Earping callbacks! Wynonna's truck, her motorcycle, the bullet proof vest, Nedley and Nicole's father-daughter thing, Waverly never saying the f-word (and subverting that), i'm all in, even Rachel always being stuck with juice while the adults are drinking- perfect! We had a little bit of the usual supernatural insanity, but this episode was wall to wall fanservice, and it was perfectly in-character fanservice. That's the way to go! It didn't feel forced or awkward and the edited mailbox will make me tear up on rewatch
-
The relationship. (aka i wanna talk about wyndoc and had no outline when i started this thing)
The Wyndoc goodbye was beautiful. I'm not into the whole you need one person to complete you kinda thing, but the implication that it didn't have to be romantic (implying that Wynonna's person was Waverly) was great. I felt that the scene worked perfectly, and might have been fine leaving it there if there was another season clearly on the horizon. With the fact that this was the series finale (i sighed so hard typing that. my poor lungs), I'm glad that they got their own happy ending.
-
The analysis.
Nicole's and Wynonna's as individual characters mirror each other in so many ways, but I'm just gonna wax poetic about one: their relationship with the GRT. Wynonna was hurt by the town, badly. She grew up with a steady stream of shitty adults and a few who told her to shake the demons out of her head and embraced the tough love mantra. It made a lot of sense that she left as an adult. Waverly was most likely the only reason she didn't skip town before that.
Nicole had a negative integer of adult role models in her life, with the murdered aunt and uncle and the whatever-the-fuck her parents were trying to be. Sure, a little trip to the Ghost River Triangle left her with trauma that she spent a lifetime repressing, but what's a little surviving a massacre under the six year old girl bridge. Am I right?
In their early lives, these characters had nothing but negative experiences in the aptly named town of Purgatory. Wynonna was drawn back into town by Curtis' letter just in time for her 27th birthday, and Nedley applied for Nicole to start working as a cop. Neither of them directly chose to come back to the Ghost River Triangle, but both of them did have the final say.
Wynonna decided pretty early on that she was going to stay no matter what. She already abandoned her sister once. How could she do it again with all of these monsters lurking in the shadows. As time went on, her circle of people expanded, but Waverly has always been the person that fight through hell and high water for. Even when fighting wasn't necessary, when it hurt her much more than it helped anything, she did it anyways because it was the only thing she could do to protect her sister. Wynonna thought it was the only thing she could do at all. This entire season, she's been fighting a war with herself, and her leaving, Waverly telling her that it was okay to leave, was the first time that took a break, took a breath since she arrived in Purgatory on her 27th birthday. Her child and the man she loves are out in the world, but she will be back with them at her side. Maybe after a quick road trip, maybe after a few years, but she will be back.
Nicole spent a majority of season 1 and 2 feeling like an outsider. Season 3 came with the realization that these people were her family and the Ghost River Triangle was her home. Early season 4 kinda shat all over that, oops. The rest of this season has been her finding her footing again. Nicole was a wandering soul, but she voluntarily staked herself to the land, vowing to protect it and the people within its borders for the rest of her life without the ability to leave, and she doesn't regret it. Her wife, her family, her people are all in this one not-so-sleepy Canadian town.
Nicole found her place, after a lifetime of searching, and Wynonna left, temporarily, after a lifetime of feeling trapped. They might seem like opposites, but both women call the same place home.
-
Originally, I watched this show was to cope with the ending of Agents of SHIELD (which I kind of used to cope with the ending of Killjoys, which featured Emily Andras as a writer in season 1 and has near identical humor, found family, and a healthy serving of gay and wow this is turning into a bit of advertisement isn't it), but it wormed its way into my heart. I've never quite seen a show like this. Never seemed interested in a western, even a sci-fi western. Never saw the gay couple reach OTP status both in fandom and canon. I've never seen so many fan conventions dedicated to just one show. I usually stay for just one character (and Wynonna has become one of my all time favorite characters), but I find myself connecting with so many of the beautiful people being brought to life on my screen. Wynonna, Waverly, Nicole, Rachel, Dolls, Jeremy, Doc, Nedley and so many other hilarious and heartbreaking characters make this show, and every single human who played a part in this self-proclaimed shitshow deserves a round of applause and a swig of whiskey.
The end.

Crazy in Her Mind, Love on Her Brain
by deputyydipshit
What happened when Wynonna got sent off to the psychiatric hospital? How did she really get out? Was it fate that Wynonna’s little sister, Waverly, agreed to help Nicole put her plan into motion, or was it the silent sign that she had been looking for? A new take on our crazy chick with a gun’s twisted past and Wayhaught’s iconic beginning.
I have changed the ages/years things took place to make it a more modern story. Everything is still canon (i.e. Earp Curse, magic guns, etc.), but Wynonna, Waverly, and Nicole are all the same age.

the big giant text post where i talk about wynonna earp 3x05 edition
giddy up its Wynonna Earp time this episode was a wild one (aren’t they all) i dont even know where to start
mama earp knows about nicole now, i think it would be interesting for them to meet each other (while not in the “Jolene’s trace inducing treats” mode)
now about jolene and her trance inducing treats (also the gang’s treat preferences all made perfect sense, wynonna and brownies, nicole and lemon scones without poppy seeds, especially waverly and cupcakes. doc and snickerdoodles surprised me but it actually is fitting. Oh my god i just got emo what would dolls’ favorite been?)...
She spilled ALL THE TEA and this is the only time i will not stand for tea spilling!! I dont like seeing the gang mad at each other also speaking of the gang where is Jeremy
Wynonna calling waverly her half sister broke my heart dont ever say that again
Nicole always feels left out i am so sorry
Everyone stop getting mad at waverly and being mean to her do you hear me purgatory??
Jolene tried to break up nicole and waverly AND I WASNT HAVING IT
The bar fight scene was WILD right as i saw that shady jolene demon mess up the taps in front of nicole i was ready to fight (so was waverly) waverly needed to get her girl back!! And re-enacting waverly and nicole’s first interaction... brilliant writing
OH MY GOD THE POLICE STATION when waverly walked in and nicole was mad at her i wanted to walk into the screen and personally kill jolene myself. waverly was basically crying this entire episode she has been through so much. for the rest of the season how about no more hurting waverly ok? ok.
Ooh and Kate did her tarot card reading on jolene and called her out. finally someone thought she was sus!! Also i am beginning to like Kate more she is cool
That shady demon came back to seduce nicole but NICOLE WASNT HAVING IT!! OH MY GOD JOLENE TRIES TO CONVINCE NICOLE THAT SHE DOESN’T LOVE WAVELRY BUT SHE SAYS SHE LOVES HER IM EMO NICOLE LOVES WAVERLY SO MUCH JOLENE COULDN’T GET INSIDE NICOLE’S HEAD YES NICOLE IS TOO POWERFUL FOR HER!! also nicole asking if jolene was even gay is iconic. nicole is asking the real questions. Love it, love nicole, ok moving on. bulshar’s ring is back and nicole got locked in the closet whoops
RANDY NEDLEY CAME IN CLUTCH!! Finally mama earp and wynonna realized jolene was the demon!! Also how could they go from “PUT DOWN THAT TART RANDY” to waverly alone and crying in the greenhouse thing? First im laughing and then i am afraid
The whole time waverly had the knife (a rather large knife may i add) pointed at her stomach i was at the edge of my seat and waiting for wynonna and mama earp to kick down the door (that did not happened) but then she remembered wynonna and nicole and doc and jeremy and mama earp!! Waverly is so strong (stronger than people give her credit for)That was so beautiful i lost it
Nicole and waverly had their sorry party!! The sorry balloon and unicorn balloon and pink teddy bear were all 10/10 perfectly matched the butterfly wall aesthetic. Also were they wearing matching fuzzy socks? If so, couple goals. If not, never mind.
And not sure what doc was doing with bulshar’s ring and that dirt circle (i have no idea what it does/what it is probably supernatural stuff i should probably look into that) but it was cool and doc seems brave and fearless and confident again!!
Uhh i think i forgot to mention lol waverly is an angel everyone saw it coming but you never know i am relieved also next episode she learns more about her father and it’s CHRISTMAS TIME!! Usually i dont like holiday/Christmas/seasonal tv episodes but whatever Wynonna Earp does i love it (also what was waverly doing in that costume..)

I am rewatching Two Faced Jack and I never noticed it before but when Doc comes running into the police station after discovering Wynonna & Nicole have been taken, Nedley stops him and says, "Calm down son!" And idk I just thought that is so hilarious since Doc is way older than Nedley. Sheriff Nedley really is amazing. Never really gave him that much credit when I first began watching but it that all changed for most of us when he faced off Widow!mercedes and dropped those iconic lines in s2. My most favs being: "What are you? A witch? A Pokémon?" "That sounds kinda kinky. Are you sure you're not the real Mercedes?"

Have you finished wynonna earp/what are your thoughts?
I have! I finished it last night, and as someone who went into it knowing .8% of the show content (aka just the Wayhaught kiss scenes), I have thoughts:
Nicole’s voice does NOT match her overall aura of toughness. I expected deep rasp and got tinkling wind chimes on a breezy afternoon.
Officer Haught’s dimples = the reason for my heart palpitations (if I ignore my actual heart condition)
Same goes for Waverly’s– *waves hands around* everything.
Truly the most surprising part of finally watching the show for me was finding out just how fucking badass Waverly is. Kudos to y’all for leaving that kinder egg for me to figure out myself. *high fives*
Wynonna’s facial expressions when someone talks = Relateable™
Tbh Wynonna = Relateable™, but whatevs
When Bobo yanks the gun outta her hand and she’s like *middle finger*,,,,, Iconic
Doc is good but Dolls is better #TeamDolls
I forgot Natalie Krill was in this so when she showed up I remember thinking, “I’ve seen you masturbate in a tub”
AND THEN THE TUB SCENE HAPPENS AND I DIED LMAOOO I HAD TO PAUSE I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD
Willa tho???? Loved her. Honest to god gonna miss her character in S2. She went too soon #DangerousSnakes
Nedley is Dad Goals™
Champ can (and does) choke (ha!). Next.
I love Wayhaught, but Waverly and her sawed off shotgun is my OTP
The way Nicole’s voice gets so soft when her and Waverly make out in the barn and she says “I know, baby” like, WOOOOW. dead.
Ngl I’m a little bitter that y’all didn’t tell me she said it like that. I spent this whole time thinking she normal voiced it because the gifsets I saw never conveyed tone but no, she soft voiced that shit and I had a gay heart attack.
Overall, 12/10 will watch again Friday, June 9 at 10 p.m. ET on Syfy

Wynonna Earp, for the ask of course! :D
Hey thanks!!
My All Time Favorite Character:
Oh. Oh no. Oh nooooo. I love all of them. Crap. But if I have to choose, I pick *loud truck noises*
A Character I Didn’t Used to Like, but Now Do:
Hm. Nedley, I think. I wasn’t a huge fan of him at first, but they really turned him around by the end of the series.
A Character I Used to Like but Now Don’t:
Bobo, that sleazeball.
A character I’m indifferent about:
Champ
A character who deserved better:
MATTIE, THE MOTHERFUCKING BLACKSMITH. I will forever be angry over her fate. She didn’t deserve that at all.
A ship I’ve never been able to get into:
Wynonna x Doc, but I’m a sucker for Wyndolliday.
A Ship I could never get over:
Wayhaught, obviously
A cute, lowkey ship:
I don’t know if it’s lowkey, but wayhaught is super cute. Or, in a universe where Nicole Haught doesn’t exist (aka the sad universe) Chrissy and Waverly could have been cute.
An unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it:
Uh….???? I can’t think of any.
A ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened:
My first instinct is to say Bobo x Willa, but the show never treated it as something that should be normalized, and openly condemned Bobo for how it came about. At the same time, I want to stick with that initial reaction, because they didn’t have to give them a ‘lover’ status in order to come up with the same effect.
My favorite storyline/moment:
Waverly chucking the skull. #hashtag iconic
A storyline that never should have been written:
Hm. Well, it’s not so much that I don’t think it should have been written, but more along the lines of wishing they had had more time to fully explore it. I wish they had been able to expand on the conflict with the Stone Witch and her sons.
My first thoughts on the show:
I really enjoy this show. It has its flaws, but no show is perfect, and it makes up for it with its story and characters.
My thoughts now:
i FUCKING LOVE THIS SHOW FIGHT ME (still has its flaws, but I still love it)
