Necromunda is a great game, because you can pet your vicious cyborg murder mastiff.

The Queen-Killer Duo, necromunda bounty hunters: Rita "the Headsman" and Maud "the Huntress." Spent the day off today bashing these two together. Need to do some more work on Rita, those shoulders are a tad sloppy for my taste right now, but I'm really happy with how these came out.

ok so you can’t actually make a character in hired gun, but there’s a fairly solid selection of brutal folks to choose from and you get a dog that you can pet

Necromunda: Hired Gun - Blast Review
Developer: Streum On Studio Rrp: £34.99 (Gog.com, Humblebundle, Steam and Epic)
For those who are uninitiated Necromunda: Hired Gun is set within the Warhammer 40,000 universe and specifically in the Hive of Necromunda. Please don't ask me for more information than that because I am more of a fan of the Warhammer Fantasy franchise than 40,000 and as such have extremely scattered knowledge on it. However, what I can say is that this game is a pretty damned good shooter. It's clear that they developers were somewhat emulating the recent Doom series but only in a couple of ways, such as having a glory kill system although in this game it's a specific augment you have to purchase and it's nowhere near as effective.
The game is separated out into missions and a home location, named Martyrs End, that you return to. While in Martyrs End you can spend money to upgrade yourself, upgrade your mastiff, buy new gear or pick a mission. There are two types of mission, campaign or side. Campaign is the main story and you can repeat those missions whenever you please. Side missions are seperated out into 3 ranks B missions, A missions and S missions (B being the easiest and S the most difficult). These side missions allow you to earn extra money both through the missions successful completion as well as selling off the gear you collect. Both campaign and side missions will reward you in credits at the end, as well as give you a performance review.
Tumblr media
Before each mission (as well as at a vendor in Martyrs End) you can customise your weaponry and I have to say I've not seen this level of weapon customisation in a game since Fallout 4. Each change you make will have a significant change on how the weapon handles, how powerful it is, how accurate etc. On top of that you can also add charms and 'archeotech' to them. Charms increase the likelihood of a enemy dropping extra money and archeotech... well its a mod that adds a damage type. Archeotech is technology from a previous age in the 40,000 universe that's knowledge has been lost (just to clarify the term).
I really liked this game, it does suffer from some major difficulty spikes but thankfully those are somewhat mitigated by the ability to lower the difficulty at any time. But I loved the atmosphere and world that Necromunda takes place in, I'd love to spend more time within that universe.

If you’d like to support me I have a Ko-fi, the reviews will continue to be posted donation or not.

Necromunda:  Hired Gun
I’ve seen talk about the potential lore, and how it’s a bit janky, but that belies the big problem.
The game’s design seems to simply be throw a bunch of really cool things into a pile and hope it makes a good game.
It doesn’t.
The basic gameplay is designed for crack-addicted PC gamers with their nanoscale-sensitive mouse.  If the player can spin 130˚ to headshot something in a split second, how do you make the game fun? (they never bother to ask if they should), you have all of the characters run around at 60 miles/hour.  The gameplay relies a lot on being able to run, slide, walljump, and grapple your way around the world, but does a terrible job of implementing it.  This is on the coattails of Titanfall 2 that did this masterfully.
The game also does a terrible job of the tutorial, with the tutorial text appearing a moment before enemies start shooting you.  There’s no melee, and instead you have gratuitous violence.
The biggest selling point, the Cybermastiff, which doesn’t look cyber, (they seem to forget that real mastiffs are also a thing), is a cheap summon with a cooldown.  You squeeze his squeaky toy and he appears beside you, fighting enemies for a short time before disappearing on your cooldown.  This is really annoying, as when he’s present, he gives you see-through-walls visions.  There is SO MUCH they could have done with that.
The game drops weapons in your path, and then overcomplicates the system to use them.  Yes, it makes sense to have a limited arsenal that you select before a mission, by why start without your autogun and then make the player immediately have to pick between your default weapon and what I think is the sniper rifle?  It again, just throws what’s cool into the pile, and doesn’t bother to spend any time making it work.
Despite all of the overcomplications, it plays like a shitty run-and-gun, but the overcomplications make it fail at even that.
The only reason I stopped playing a much better 40k game to play this is a bug that messed up my save file.  In Death Watch:  Tyranid Invasion you apparently CAN equip your tactical marines with melee weapons.  You can’t ever unequip them, and if you attack a target within melee range with one equiped, the game crashes.  Had to destroy my save game.
Still a much better 40k game than this piece of shit.

What kind of video games would the 141 + könig would play.
Have another headcanon on me 😊
Captain John price
Tumblr media
Being the dad of the group, I wouldn’t think he’d play too many video games.
He’ll whip out candy crush on his phone every now and then.
Don’t ask him what his level is he’ll just say “it’s so high”
But if he did, he would want to play games that involved the whole group.
Like Mario kart, super smash bros, rocket league or just dance.
You laugh every time when he tries to do his best at that.
John soap mactavish
Tumblr media
Johnny would be the type of person who just doesn’t care what he plays as long as he has fun doing so.
He would play games that aren’t so big on story, just more about the game play.
Big on racing games, your usual need for speed or burnout.
But I would feel he’d like alternative history if he was feeling in a story mood.
Throw in Wolfenstien or atomic heart and your good to go.
Kyle gaz Garrick
Tumblr media
Gaz on the other hand I’d think would be into games that are based of existing properties.
I’d think he’d spent most of his teenage years playing dungeons and dragons or Warhammer, so naturally he’d be into games like space marine or necromunda hired gun.
As he is a fan of the franchises he’d pay attention to see if they actually do the lore justice in the games.
Don’t ever mention dungeons and dragons dark alliance as he hated it with a pure passion and he’ll rant all day about it.
Simon ghost Riley
Tumblr media
Now Simon would be a single player game only type of person.
He would play super story focused games like the last of us or god of war.
I would take him as a horror game fan so he’d feel right at home with dead space or resident evil.
Like gaz, don’t get him riled up on the Callisto protocol, he’d complain to kingdom come how uninspired it was and it practically was dead space.
And he’ll never admit it but he cried during the last of us’s opening.
König
Tumblr media
König being the gentle giant he is would play more relaxing games.
Animal crossing 100%
If you were friends with him, he would give you gifts to your village.
He’d be big on platformers as well, indie or triple A.
Sometimes would decipher wether Mario or sonic is better.
During his time when things get overwhelming, he’ll turn on his comfort game and let the worry’s wash away.

I tried out Necromunda: Hired Gun and I was so embarrassed about that because no one on my friends list has it or wants it that I set my profile to invisible so no one would see me playing it. Having now played a few hours lemme just say that was the right call lmao.

I’ve got an idea: Tali and Liara headcanons with a human!fem!s/o who’s a Spectre?? Like she’s from a planetary colony that’s pretty industrious, but has A LOT of crime going around (hence why she’s often aggressive when she’s interrogating people). She also has a revolver-styled energy pistol and a pretty unique Omni-knife. And since spectres are known for being independent she changed the way her outfit looked after he first couple of days on the job, something like this:
Tumblr media
(The picture is from Necromunda: Hired Gun)
Oooo I really like this idea so here are some headcanons love! 💕
Tumblr media
Tali
After being with Shepard for so many years she thought she knew familiar the specters, but after meeting you?? That thought had changed.
Your outfit was the first to catch her intrest. Unlike the other Specters your armor was more rugged, put together with remains of those who have crossed you, and metal. It reminded her more of something a bounty hunter which wasn't too far of stretch.
The second thing to catch her intrest was your Omni-knife. She had seen the blades, and the occasional knife used in kitchens, but your wasn't either of those. It seemed straight and firm like a normal blade, but disappeared as if it was nothing when you weren't using it.
She had begged you to look at the inner workings of the knife, and not being able to say no to the cute quarian you gave her an extra that she still loves and uses to this day.
The last thing she noticed was You are more rough around the edges due to your up bringing at the industrial colony. So you were no stranger to getting rough to get the info you needed.
When they were trying to get Information on the whereabouts of Thane's son. You took Shepards place in the interrogation with the promise of getting the information.
You got that information, and in turn the other received a doctors visit. It scared Tali at first, but the more you were around the more she got use to it, and in some cases have stopped it.
She seemed to be your voice of reason when you got upset. Her soft demnor help balanced your rough on, and thus you became closer. So close that she learned of your softer side behind closed doors.
And honestly that was her favorite discovery
Tumblr media
Liara
Let's get one thing clear. She knew about before you knew about her. Before she became the shadow broker that we all know today she had hired you to help find the remains oh shepard.
She didn't fully know the dangers of the planet so she searched the galaxy for someone she could trust enough to help, and lowbehold a specter came across her computer.
You weren't like the others she had met. You didn't take shit from anyone, ran your own crew, and you had a nack for violence. What more could she need??
When she met it you however, that was a diffrent story. Since you came from such a violent background she expect you to be gruff and rude, but you weren't?? You spoke to her with respect, and elegance that she nearly thought you were from rich family on earth!
You left such an impression on her that when she rejoined Shepard to stop the reapers, she immediately called you for help. Of course you were more then happy to join and send the reapers back to dark space.
Javik praises your strength for a primitive. Which really catches Liara's attention since it so rare to hear him give praise.
So she watched you more, and she will never admit it to anyone but your show in strength against such tough enemies made her feel a type of way.
She doesn't say anything till the end though. With the possibility of not coming out of this alive looms over her head she realizes that if this was to be her final moments she wanted to share them with you.
So she does, and even as dooms day grows ever closer she can't help but find a small bit of piece in your arms.
