Animal of the day: The feathertail glider (Acrobates pygmaeus), also known as the pygmy gliding possum, pygmy phalanger and flying mouse is a species of marsupial native to eastern Australia. They are the world's smallest gliding mammal and are notable for their feather shaped tails 🪶
last night, i saw two grown possums and a baby one!
at least two potoroos!
perhaps a wallaby!
i've been thinking of naming the baby something, so if you have ideas, please comment or reblog! chances are that yours won't get used, but there is still a chance, and that baby is a wonder. :)
every single time i see a native australian bird that i usually see outside my window in the wild and in the outback doing it's thing and displaying interesting birdie behaviour it makes me smile. and then i see another bird of the same species inside somebody's house as a pet it makes me want to bite and kill and bite and kil and bite kill bite kill bite kill bite ki
Final trip Bird! Jessie the Wedge Tailed Eagle.
After the free flight show I zoomed my way to the photograph area and the ladies doing it were extremely nice enough to let me in early to take some photos of Jesse. Jesse was brought into the Korrumbin wildlife hospital at a young age, and was deemed unreleasable due to his inability to fly. He is now an ambassador animal who poses very well! Even if he got a little distracted by a stinkbug on his post.
