Edmund Pevensie x Reader
In my mind, Edmund Pevensie is a Dorky Nerd
Summary: Before the battle in miraz's castle, Edmund tries to convince Y/N to not go to the battle, but things took turn when he ends up conffesing his fellings.
Y/N was sharpening her sword. She looked around her "room", it was very generous to call it a room though. Let's just say that the fortress were Caspian had leaded them to, their base is you must, and where the stone table used to be (and it still is, just broken), was not particulary cozy. She had a discomfort look on her face, yes, she loved Narnia and she would do anything for her people, but is not like she found battles apealing.
She was on her way to put her armor on when someone busted through the door. It was Edmund, hyperventilating.
"Excuse you?" Y/N asked a bit annoyed, he could have at least knocked.
"Sorry" Edmund had a looked of concern on his face "Is it true?"
"What ever are you talking about?" Y/N asked.
"That you are going to the battle, is it true?" Edmund asked with a more stern tone.
"Yeah...?" Y/N was kinda confused, it was not her first battle, back when they lived in Narnia, The golden years, She would atend to any battle or figth there was, she was very skilled at it, and it shoudn't be surprising that she was going to this one.
"No you are not!" Said Edmund almost like in a childish tone.
"Why not?" Y/N asked annoyed, he was acting very strange.
"You just can't" Edmund looked nervous, like if he was holding something from her, and she hated liars, or in this case, not being told things that were directly related to her.
"Yes I can, and I will!" She started getting defensive, and her insecure thoughts started to appear. Was this because she was a girl? i wouldn't be the first time somebody understimated her because of her gender, all though she never expected that kind of behavior from her dearest friend, Edmund. Maybe, when they had came back to England, the boys from his school had contaminated him with misogynistic ideas.
"No, you will not!" Said Edmund, starting to raise his tone of voice, something he did when he felt frustrated, whitch often happened while he treated with Y/N, because it was very rare the ocation when she actually listened to him.
She rolled her eyes, and continued with her preparation for the battle, she always thought that Edmund was smart... Book smart, not life smart... She actually belived Edmund to be very Dorky when it came to real life problems, yes, he was wicked smart when it came to play chess or to solve a math problem, but not so smart in social/emotional matters... He just needed a little reality check sometimes. Most of the times Y/N would just ignore him when he was being ridiculous.
"Y/N, are you listening to me?!" His face was very flustered with frustration, she didn't answered. "Please! you must not go!"
"And why is that?" Y/N was just listening orders but not explanations. He just mumbled something to himself. "Why is that?" she spoke louder, more intimidating.
"You could get hurt..." He said in a shy demeanor. She coudn't help but chuckle.
"Getting hurt? Yeah, of course i could, is a damn battle! im not stupid" she said as if it wasn't a big deal, and it wasn't for her, she would die for her nation a thousand and one times if it was necessary.
"Well, you are acting very stupid rigth now!" she felt the urge to punch him.
"Me?! Me Stupid?!" She got closer to him "I'm a better figther than you and your brother together! I have to go to the battle, I'm not turning my back on Narnia for your bloody tantrum!" She didn't realized how close they were, their chests were almost touching, she was breathing heavealy and he was very flustered. Both of them were mad at each other, but for very different reasons.
"You could die!"
"So could you!"
"But I don't want you to!..." His voice cracked a little "I don't want to live without you..." He admitted shyly, and now her eyes full of fury were filled with confusion and tendernes, she had to admit that was kinda sweet.
"Im still going Edmund... " She tried to say in a softer demeanor, she now understood were he was coming from, she still thought it was stupid, but it also melted her heart.
"I know..." He cupped her cheeks with his hands, and then he leaned to give her a soft kiss on the lips, she was stuned to say the least, but she didn't felt any feeling of rejection, quite the opposite actually.
When they separated he looked at her in the eyes with love, but also a bit of shynes.
"...Wh-what?..." Scaped her lips in a gasp, she was very confused, She always belived Edmund to be very handsome... But she always thought he saw her as a sister, he never gave any sings of even felling atractted to her. But Y/N never noticed how much Edmund Liked her, since he had a very wierd way of express it, When he was mean or sassy, when he was clumsy or dorky in front of her, it was just how he flirted (No need to say that it was wierd way of showing love), But i mean, he never had to learn how to flirt, back in the golden years, when they lived on Narnia, Girls would just make lines to talk to him, he was handsome, he was a King, he didn't needed to flirt.
"I love you..." He said. "Sorry for realizing so late about it..." She tilted her head and smiled.
"You wove me?" She mocked him pouting and chuckling a little.
"Shut up!" He laughed. She smiled and grabbed him by the collar, she gave him a very heated kiss, that made him a little dizzy, but in the good way, a total contrast from the soft and tender kiss he had gave her. He kissed her as if he was afraid of breaking her, She was kissing him as if her intention was to break him.
When they separated she smirked from the dumb smile Edmund had On his face "I'm still going to the battle, Pevensie"
"Uh...huh" Was the only thing he managed to say.

Narnia thoughts: why aren't there more Prince Caspian au fics? I have so many ideas.
Tumblr media
Tons of Casmund aus
Why aren't there aus where the Pevensies parents accidentally end up in Narnia? I know lore states only children. But screw that this is fiction and I want Pevensie Parents shenanigans of them ending up in Narnia with their children and them seeing their kids weild swords and command armies and being completely our of their depth and having to rely on their kids in an unfamiliar place.
Pevensie siblings shenanigans fics
More casmund in general.
Eustace and Pevensie siblings shenanigans.
Casmund wedding.
Casmund with Caspian in the real world.
Jadis coming back in Prince Caspian and taking Edmund prisoner.
Jadis coming back in Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Jadis coming back and being in the real world. Threatens the Pevensie parents.
Narnia coming to the real world and the Pevensie siblings having to explain to the parents.
Just in general more fics about the parents.
Edmund and Lucy shenanigans fics.
Edmund and Peter shenanigans fics
Edmund and Susan shenanigans fics(yes Edmund is my favorite male character)
Aslan ending up in the real world and the kids having having hide him from their parents.
Pevensie and Aslan shenanigans
Just more Pevensie and Aslan love. Ok that lion loves the Pevensie and there needs to be more fics with them(yes I heard about the last battle but I'm ignoring that)
Just more love for Aslan in general. I see that lion differentdifferently and I want him to have more love(though I never read the books so who knows)
Caspian meeting the Pevensie parents
Edmund coming out as gay to his parents and his siblings standing by him no matter what, laws and British proprietary be dammed.
Casmund outlander au.

Casmund little mermaid au
Casmund and the nutcracker au.
Just more Casmund in general.

Two Men in Love
Hey people! Guess who came back with a fresh new Caspeter fanfic?! 😘
A big thanks for @eds-gryff for making 👉 THIS AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL VIDEO 👈 that inspired me to write this piece (that with some luck will receive like... 5 notes or something like that).
I'm really considering to start posting my fics on AO3. Who knows...
Anyway, good reading! 🫶
P.S.: A friendly reminder that English is not my first language, so don't fuck me up, okay?
P.S. 2: The fic's title comes from the song of same name by "The Irrepressibles" (THIS IS THE CASPETER ANTHEM I WON'T ACCEPT CRITICISM! 👌)
P.S. 3: The photos and quotes used on the aesthetic were all found on Pinterest, but the edit was made BY ME. DON'T FUCKING REPOST IT!!! 😡
Tumblr media
The afternoon sun was already reaching its peak when Peter took the same usual route back home. He had left early in the morning to travel the long distance to the small village where he cared for his patients. The start of the day had been peaceful and, luckily, no particularly serious medical cases had to be dealt with, just minor incidents such as a 7-year-old girl with a broken ankle after falling from a tree, a lumberjack with a dislocated shoulder and an old fisherman who had some difficulty breathing - a problem definitely related to his advanced age and his addiction to smoking. Unfortunately, no matter how many times Peter warned him about the consequences of excessive cigarette use, it was a harmful habit that the old, stubborn man was not willing to give up.
The doctor was climbing the hill, coat and suitcase in each hand, admiring the green, undulating mounds that decorated the landscape that was beginning to form before his eyes. He couldn't imagine choosing a better place to spend the rest of his life - well, actually there was another place, but it was the only place he already knew he could never return to. For a moment, Peter found himself downcast, the weight of melancholy taking over his chest. It was a feeling he was already familiar with, although it became less constant with each passing year. A king could leave Narnia, but Narnia would never leave him as long as he lived. He was absolutely sure of that.
A loud noise woke him from his cloud of thoughts, and suddenly the bittersweet feeling in his heart disappeared. A dog with yellow fur and big ears came running towards him, barking at the top of his lungs, and the blond man didn't hesitate to drop his things and opened his arms to welcome him. When he least noticed, Peter found himself flung to the ground, laughing like a child as the animal on top of him licked his face, wagging the tail happily. When the dog calmed down from his euphoric state and allowed the poor man to recover, Peter sat down on the grass and scratched the animal's head right behind the ears - exactly in his favorite spot.
- I missed you too, big boy - he said with a big smile on his face.
That sweet moment was interrupted by a whistle coming from not far away. The dog turned his head and remained quiet for a moment, just looking towards the supposed place where the sound had come from. Soon after, a man's voice was heard, calling him by the name. Peter would recognize that beautiful voice from any corner of the world.
- Rhidon!
The animal didn't blink before barking and running away again. Without rushing, Peter got up and walked a few more meters until he finally saw the small cottage that, a few years ago, had become his new home. In front of the door, there was a very happy Caspian carrying Rhidon in his arms as if he were a giant baby. Peter couldn't help but laugh at such an adorable scene. The dark-haired man smiled back at him and made room for him to come in.
- I hope you're hungry. - Caspian said.
- Starving. - Peter joked.
The smell of fresh bread coming from the kitchen reached his nostrils, which quickly remind him that there were still some sweets and baked goods left in the special basket the baker's wife had given him in thanks for taking care of their sick son. Peter sat down at the table and allowed Caspian to serve him.
- Bon appétit. - Caspian placed the plate in front of his companion and leaned over to give him a little smootch.
The young telmarine had no cooking skills when he arrived in England, which was expected of a prince who spent most of his life being served by others around him. Fortunately, because he was a curious person and fascinated with everything that was different and unknown to him - one of the many reasons why Peter had fallen in love with him -, Caspian was quite willing to learn, especially having Susan and Lucy to help him. Although neither of the two boys were masters in the art of cooking, they loved creating new recipes and dishes whenever they had the opportunity. It was one of their favorite pastimes.
The cottage in which they lived was a simple but no less charming place. The walls were painted a beige tone and the windows were adorned with white shutters and small pots of wildflowers outside. It was possible to hear the slight creaking of the boards when walking on the wooden floor, but this was never considered a nuisance for any of the residents - on the contrary, it was considered a relaxing and even inviting sound for both. In the living room, there was a couch and an old armchair where the boys usually sat at the end of the day to relax in front of the cozy heat of the fireplace.
The location of the house couldn't be more perfect either. The cottage was built in a rural area, surrounded by nature and relatively far from any sign of human life. On the other hand, the place still had a considerable distance between the village where Peter always worked - and where he and Caspian went twice a week to buy the supplies and food necessary for their daily lives - and Professor Kirke's mansion, who had become a great friend, confidant and tutor for the two young people since their last adventure in Narnia. He was responsible for helping the Pevensie siblings teach Caspian everything about their reality - he still remembered fondly from time to time of the prince's shocked expression after finding out they all lived in a round world! -, as well as being Peter's greatest guide during his journey to build his career in medicine. The couple made frequent visits to the master's house, where they also met up with Lucy and Edmund - and sometimes Susan as well - to spend the afternoon drinking tea with cookies, telling stories and even plotting little pranks to make fun of the Professor’s poor housekeeper Mrs. McCready, who had already grown new strands of gray hair since the last time they were there. Sometimes it was as if they had never stopped being children.
But the best part of it all was that Peter and Caspian no longer had to worry about hiding their love. They could court, exchange passionate kisses, walk across the field hand in hand, rest their heads on each other's shoulders, lie embraced in the meadow in the sunlight. They were free to express all the affection and intimacy that other lovers shared when were together.
The two sat at the table without saying a word for most of the meal, just exchanging shy smiles and affectionate looks. Even after all these years, they still felt and acted like two teenagers in love.
- And you? Aren't you going to eat? - Peter asked, noticing that Caspian hadn't picked up a plate for himself.
- I had already eaten before you arrived. - Caspian explained - You came back early today. How was your afternoon, doctor?
The blond one smiled at the other man's playful tone and moved his hand towards his, interlacing their fingers. From there, Peter began to tell a little about the patients he had seen that day. The two continued talking for a while until, a few minutes later, they got up and went to the couch in the living room. Peter decided to take a new book from the shelf to start reading - one of those lent by Professor Kirke -, while Caspian allowed him to lie down on his lap and just stayed there, running his fingers through his lover's golden hair and carefully watching the change in his expressions as he flip through the pages of the book in his hands.
Caspian recalled that one of the things that surprised him most when meeting Peter was seeing with his own eyes who the man behind the legend was. From idealization to disappointment to acceptance and, finally, to love, he reached a point where he realized that Peter Pevensie - the flawed, vulnerable being who was willing to carry all the burdens of the world alone for the protection of those he loved most, even that this meant putting his own pain aside and suffering in silence - was much more fascinating than the heroic and majestic figure of "The High King Peter the Magnificent'' that he had learned to adore and idolize since he was a child. He felt honored to be one of the few people to know details—intimate secrets—that couldn't be found in any dusty old history book: like the way Peter's shoulders relaxed when he lay awake at night, incapable of surrendering to sleep, sitting against the window frame watching the stars; the unique and special glow that lit up in his smile whenever Lucy was with him; all the wonderful sounds that escaped his mouth when Caspian touched and kissed him in all the right places every time they made love.
Every touch, every gesture, every perfect imperfection made Peter, his husband - perhaps not officially recognized by the law of men, or even in the eyes of God, but real to them and their dear ones - the extraordinary man he loved so so much. And Caspian hoped he had the rest of their lives to show him that.
After a while, Peter got tired of reading and, in one quick movement, closed the cover of the book and sat down. Curious, Caspian remained quiet, looking at the other man, who soon spoke with a voice full of enthusiasm:
- Let's go outside!
Before he had a chance to react, Peter was already pulling him off the couch and guiding him to the front door. It didn't take a second for Rhidon, who was previously asleep on the floor, to wake up to his owners' excitement and quickly follow them. The three of them ran out into the open air, their messy hair flying in the wind and barefoot, feeling the earth, the fallen leaves and the dew on the green grass under the soles of their feet. At that moment, they were not gentlemen of English society, nor soldiers rebuilding their lives in a chaotic world ravaged by war, much less kings of a land full of talking animals and magical creatures. They were just two happy, carefree boys with indomitable spirits and fire in their hearts. They knew they had everything they needed.
When they were both exhausted and out of breath, Peter and Caspian lay down together and watched the way the setting sun painted the sky in strong shades of orange, pink and red. Well, just Caspian, actually. Peter had all his attention focused on the young telmarine's face. The former prince's beauty never went unnoticed in his eyes, even at a time when he still believed to despise him with every fiber of his being. Honestly, the fact that the High King felt so captivated by those piercing black pupils, that tanned skin, those long dark locks that fell over Caspian's broad shoulders in beautiful waves only served to make him even more annoyed with the other’s mere presence.
Not that this was the first time a man had made Peter feel this way. Apparently, romantic relationships between people of the same gender had always been seen as something natural in Narnia, which surprised him at first, considering the fact that he was raised in a world where such an attitude was seen as something abnormal and, at worst, a crime. He remembered the few occasions he had got the attention of some members of the court and messengers from neighboring kingdoms during his and his siblings' reign. There were times when he corresponded and even took the attraction game further. But none of his suitors had ever made Peter feel what he felt when he was with Caspian. And at first, it terrified him. It did because, even after so many years, he still heard voices whispering in his mind, calling him cursed names.
Sick. Unclean. Aberration. Sinner.
But with Caspian, something changed. Those aggressive words began to lose their force. All it took was the sweetness of his smile or hearing him call Peter’s name and suddenly, all the noise inside him was reduced to the purest silence. Now, he could hold Caspian's hand without feeling dirty. He could say "I love you" in its truest meaning without feeling the weight of guilt taking over his heart. He finally allowed himself to feel pleasure, not shame, in being hugged, kissed, touched and, above all, loved by his partner.
You love him and he loves you. You are happy. You are not hurting anyone. There is nothing wrong with that.
You are not broken. You don't need fixing.
Peter stayed like this, lying on the taller man's shoulder, admiring the calm and dreamy expression on his face.
- That's what I love most. - Caspian broke the silence, his voice calm.
- What?
- Moments like this, where we can be alone. Just you and me.
And then came the smile. That damn stupid, charming smile that always made a warm blush rise to his cheeks. And there was only one thing Peter could - and desperately needed - to do about it. He propped himself up on both elbows, held Caspian's face between his hands and pressed his lips against his, giving him a long, slow, fervent kiss.
That's what made Caspian so beautiful, the blond man told himself: it wasn't just his physical beauty, but all the color and beauty he brought to Peter's world. And he had no words to describe the extent of his gratitude for having this wonderful human being by his side.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The night was calm. The only sounds in the room were the continuous music playing on the radio station and a gentle breeze that blew against the glass of the closed windows. Even after they had already eaten dinner, Peter returned to sit at the table in the kitchen to pay attention to issues related to his work. He was analyzing some notes he had written over the last few weeks related to the project of a new clinic. For a long time, Peter saw medicine as a chance to wash his soul of all the blood he had shed in his former existence, to use his hands to heal and save lives instead of taking them. He wanted to prove to himself that he could be much more than a weapon, an instrument for violence and death. And in the end, he succeeded. But he wanted it to be just the beginning of an even bigger plan.
The young man was so deep in his thoughts that he almost jumped out of his chair when he heard the clinking of the saucer being placed on the table. Peter soon felt the hot steam from the teacup being blown into his face.
- To keep you awake. - Caspian's gentle voice reached his ears.
- I'm not that tired. - Peter replied without looking up from the papers - You know, you don't need to pamper me all the time. I'm already grown up.
Caspian just snorted at his husband's typical petulance. It was a silly behavior he was already quite used to.
- But that's how our relationship works: you take care of everyone. And I - he paused his sentence to approach and kiss Peter's left cheek and only then completed - I take care of you. So, accept this at once and stop complaining.
All Peter did was roll his eyes and simply accept his lover's affectionate gesture.
- Thank you. - Peter said, this time in a more delicate and less irritated tone. In return, Caspian held one of his hands and placed a kiss on his fingers, letting his lips take time to caress that pale, soft skin. When that contact finally ceased, the telmarine was taken by surprise when he noticed the way the man sitting in front of him stared back at him, following his every slightest movement, without ever looking away.
Peter's eyes were the first thing that caught Caspian's attention when they met. Those blue eyes, deep and clear as the ocean, sometimes calm and peaceful, sometimes restless and stormy, where giant waves crashed and broke against each other. Caspian always felt like he found a new adventure every time he looked into those eyes, a new secret to be revealed, a new dark corner to be found, an infinite number of possibilities and mysteries that would be impossible to discover in a single life. Even those who called themselves the bravest explorers would be intimidated by the sight of those turbulent and unpredictable waters, but Caspian wasn't one of them. He came from a long lineage of pirates, the daring and danger of the seas ran through his veins. He was not afraid of drowning - in fact, he gladly embraced this possibility.
Suddenly, a slow, romantic ballad started playing on the radio, waking the two lovers from their frenzy - or maybe it was just carrying them into a new dream.
- Would you give me the privilege of follow me in this dance? - Caspian invited him, speaking in a low, deep voice in a way that let his Spanish accent even more evident. He knew very well the effect such seductive move used to have on Peter and how to use it to his advantage.
- The tea will get cold. - the other one stammered in a failed attempt to disguise the desire that took his breath away.
The dark-haired man just chuckled cheekily.
- Just shut up.
Peter didn't even try to retort as he knew that any form of resistance would be futile. He just stood up and let Caspian guide them to the little slice of Heaven the two of them shared.
Since the first time he and his siblings were sent away from Narnia, Peter didn't believe that he would ever be able to feel such genuine joy in worldly things again, like taking an afternoon nap in the shade of a tree, inhaling the scent of the pages of a book when you open it, feeling a snowflake melting on your tongue or even practicing small acts of altruism and kindness on a daily basis that were capable of transforming lives in miraculous ways - he also quickly learned that he didn’t need to be a powerful hero to help those who needed it most.
And of course, dancing at night in the middle of the kitchen with your love. It was another one of his favorite pastimes. Two bodies united, moving in time and space. Heart against heart, beating like drums, sharing the same melody. They were flames, burning and turning everything around them into shadows and smoke, until there was nothing left but the music and two souls naked in the starlight.
The tea was left forgotten on the top of the table, along with all his responsibilities. At that moment, Peter's only reality was Caspian's hair tangled between his fingers, those strong arms running around his hips and the heat of the young man’s lips brushing the skin of his neck. He had never felt so much pleasure in being totally surrendered. All Peter could do was close his eyes, sigh deeply, and just exist.
After that, it's not known exactly how much time has passed. Any sense of hours or minutes became completely clouded and scattered. One moment, the two men were standing in the kitchen and the next, they had been magically transported to the bedroom, taking off their clothes and continuing their dance, but this time, to a rhythm that only they could hear. It was an old song of which only they knew the notes, the rests and the chords. They were the only ones who knew which parts of the body they needed to touch with their hands or mouth to make the other moan, scream and sing.
At the end of the act, the two found themselves thrown onto the messy bed sheets, sweaty bodies intertwined in the darkness. Peter rested his forehead against Caspian's collarbone and closed his eyes, inhaling the scent of his skin and concentrating on the heavy rise and fall of the boy's chest. Then, he felt Caspian wrap his arms around him and slowly slide his hands down his back, massaging specific points on his spine with circular movements of his thumbs. It was a calm, relaxing sensation that made all the tension in the blond's muscles disappear, allowing him to sink into a deep sleep.
It was still something strange to him, being with someone who made him feel safe, protected. In most situations, it was Peter who was forced to take on the mantle of protector, as the eldest brother and as king. It was a challenge to give up this role that he had imposed on himself for so long. It took patience and reflection for him to finally understand that his family was no longer in danger, that the war was already over. That he didn't need to fight anymore. Of course, there were still days when he was haunted by terrible echoes of the past, nights when he woke up to the sound of his own crying and the screams in his head, afternoons when he walked very attentively down the street or stood still for a minute in front of the cottage’s door in an unusual state of alert, as if he feared that something bad was about to happen at any moment.
Now, everything had changed. Peter had found someone he could show his demons to and he knew they wouldn't run away. Not that he had never been vulnerable when he was around his siblings. It was hard not to be when the four of them knew each other better than anyone else: Susan could read his thoughts with just a single look. After years of fighting side by side on the battlefield, Peter and Edmund's minds worked as one, always predicting and preceding each other's every move and strategy. Lucy's presence was enough to calm the storm of emotions that shook his insides.
But with Caspian, that feeling had a different flavor. It wasn't better, nor worse, it was just… new. Peter would face a thousand armies out of love for his family and his kingdom. The love he felt for Caspian made him want to lay down his sword and strip off his armor forever. It was the kind of love that made him want to live, not just survive.
Yes, sometimes all a king needed was a safe haven to lean on. Sometimes, what a king needed most was just someone he could be weak with.

What if the Velaryon boys reincarnated into Narnia? They all died in Westeros, and when they get to Narnia, Jace takes over Peter’s place; Jace the Magnificent, Luke takes over Susan’s place; Luke the Gentle, and Joffrey takes over as Edmund; Joffrey the Just. The boys pretty much go through everything the Pevensie siblings went through in the Narnia movies, but make it HOTD.
SURPRISE MF, BUT VISENYA ALSO REINCARNATES WITH THEM, AND SHE TAKES OVER LUCY’S PLACE; Visenya the Valiant.
Bonus points if Joffrey and Visenya starts seeing Jaceluke as their parents, and affectionately calls them father(Jace) and mother(Luke) in Valyrian. And Jaceluke becoming a kinda-couple for Joffrey and Visenya’s sake for that reason, but it becomes pretty apparent that they very much are in love-love, so the two get together and it’s all happy and fluff. Until Westeros finds out about them and are desperate to either take back the once dead princes and princess, ally themselves with Narnia despite the fact that the rulers hate their guts, or try to betroth one of them to someone in Westeros for benefit reasons.

Terrible Fic Idea #82: The Chronicles of Narnia, but make it ASOIAF
@kyuremking recently asked me how I would go about combining Game of Thrones with The Chronicles of Narnia - and admittedly I was a bit baffled at first. Narnia has never been one of my go-to fandoms - I never liked how CS Lewis handled Susan, as if growing up was a crime worthy of exclusion from paradise, and the religious imagery feels quite heavy-handed considering the century in which they were published.
But I thought. And I mused. And I turned the idea over in my mind. And this is what I came up with: What if the Stark siblings fell into an Old Gods-analog of Narnia?
Just imagine it:
One day while exploring beneath the catacombs, young Arya Stark falls into Narnia. It is not quite the Narnia we know, with most of the heavy Christian symbolism of the books being replaced by the beliefs and mythology of the Old Gods.
As the religion of the Old Gods is not overly expanded upon in canon, let's imagine it here as something of a cross between shintoism and folk orthodoxy - polytheist and heavily animist with a notion of "pollution vs purity" and an un-codified moral code, but with localized cults of anthropomorphized saints which over the centuries have picked up certain aspects of certain of the New Gods. The details don't really matter so long as the two most important of these saints, which have taken on aspects of the Smith and the Mother, can be used to replicate the Narnian idea of son of Adam and daughter of Eve.
Arya falls into Narnia. Bran tentatively believes her, but the rest of her siblings think she's telling tales. This leads to some back and forth before Jon and Sansa are separately tasked to pull Bran and Arya out of the catacombs - and end up falling into Narnia after them.
Jon, Sansa, Bran, and Arya free Narnia from an endless winter at the hands of the Corpse Queen, who was trapped there by the Children of the Forest, which weakened the Others enough that the Last Hero was able win the Battle for the Dawn. They then rule Narina as Kings and Queens for forty years, eventually falling back into Winterfell while hunting the White Stag.
The exact details of the Narnia interlude are unimportant, as our story picks up literally the minute they find themselves all in a heap back in the catacombs, child-sized once more.
The rest of their family immediately notices the difference, but has no idea what to make of it. All of a sudden the four middle Stark children seem to have overcome all of their differences. They're not just acting like miniature adults, they're acting like proper lords and ladies - used to commanding and their orders being followed.
The difference is starkest with Arya - who seems have mellowed in the course of a day to warrior queen out of legend - and Sansa - who is no longer dreamy but dangerous in the way all Queens of Winter have always been. But it's there with Jon - who seems surer, steadier, and more comfortable in his own skin even as he looks at Ned with betrayal in his eyes - and Bran - who has gone from wanting to be a storybook knight to being the gallant knight he's always wanted to be.
Additionally, all four seem unspeakably close these days and can often be found whispering together - and slowly going silent when anyone else draws near. They're in and out of each other's chambers to the point where it's honestly strange to find one of them alone.
There's no time to ponder these changes, as the royal party is on their way North.
Ned will regret not paying closer attention for the rest of his life.
For while in Narnia, the Stark children learned two things: 1) That Jon is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and his second wife, Lyanna Stark. Though it's never outright stated, it's heavily implied that while Lyanna's abduction was willing, her imprisonment in a tower was not, and by the end of it hated her husband more than anyone. Jon will never, ever be sure where his conception fell on the spectrum; and 2) that the Long Night is coming. It may be in their generation, it may be in the next, but Westeros must be strong to ensure the Dawn will come. Everything they've learned about Robert Baratheon suggests that he will not - cannot - be the king Westeros needs. And so Jon, Arya, Bran, and Sansa plot, and scheme in preparation for Jon to take the throne himself.
They're prepared to play the long game - but don't have to after Bran spies Jamie and Cersei in the First Keep. He arranges for the pair to be discovered in a way that is utterly undeniable. The twins are tried, found guilty, and beheaded in short order. Cersei's children are declared bastards - and, after Joffrey draws a sword in protest of this, Joffrey is slain as well. Myrcella and Tommen are remanded to Ned's care until they are old enough to join the Faith, enter the Citadel, or take the Black.
And then Robert does what he does best: drinks and whores, seemingly uncaring that his rule is hanging by a thread.
And so Jon acts - or rather, Jon and Sansa go to Ned so that he can act. They sit him down, explain that they know Jon is the rightful Targaryen heir, and state that if Ned does not declare for Jon now, he is dooming Westeros to a bloody civil war. It is best to act decisively now rather than wait for Robert's vices to kill him.
This conversation takes the better part of the night, but eventually Ned is convinced. When morning comes, Ned orders his guards put the few royal guards not already under watch (the majority Lannister men-at-arms having been imprisoned for rioting after Jamie and Cersei's deaths) and takes Robert hostage.
Jon is named King Jaehaerys III.
A great host marches south to King's Landing, picking up the lords of the Riverlands while fighting off Lannister forces, and takes King's Landing quickly, despite Renly's spirited defense of the city. Forces are sent to mop up Stannis at Dragonstone in echo of the Rebellion and in short order Jon is King of Westeros in truth.
What follows is a montage of Jon doing is best to strengthen the kingdom, put down rebellions, and make Westeros ready for the Long Night.
Bran marries Shireen Baratheon, who is named Lady Paramount of the Stormlands in her own right. Their marriage is one of surprising affection - and one which seems determined to restore House Baratheon to its greatest number through their own efforts. Bran is known as The Noble Wolf, and earns a reputation equal to that of the Dragonknight or Duncan the Tall.
Arya marries Robin Arryn, but it's doubtful they ever consummate the marriage. When he dies two years later, she claims the Vale by right of widowhood, and has already been doing such a good job ruling in his stead that few protest when there are no viable alternatives. No one ever quite knows who fathers her heir, but by that point the Long Night is in full swing and few take issue with it.
Robb marries Margery Tyrell, the closest the Tyrells can get to the crown. It's a successful marriage, if not one of deep affection, and ensures the North is well-fed when the Long Night comes.
Jon marries Sansa, with whom he'd had a relationship in Narnia and who he'd been dancing around after their return to adolescence. They often wonder about the children they left behind in Narnia, which causes some angst when they start having children in Westeros, but are undeniably the happiest royal couple in 200 years.
There are other efforts beyond marriage in the background, including 1) a long sequence during which Theon Greyjoy is installed as Lord Paramount of the Iron Islands after his father rebels. He proves to be remarkably loyal to the crown, marries Lyra Mormont, and turns the Ironborn from pirates into a royal navy in one generation; 2) Rickon is sent to foster in Dorne, which he takes to in a way no one could have predicted. He ends up staying in Dorne for most his life and becomes known as The Desert Wolf - a wilder, fiercer knight than his brother Bran. He never marries, but fathers a bevy of bastards to rival Oberyn Martell - at least half of them with Oberyn's daughter Loreza; and 3) Tywin being in open rebellion for years before Tyrion, in a desperate attempt to ensure a Lannister stays Lord of the Rock after they're assuredly defeated by the combined strength of the rest of Westeros, kills his father, takes his place, and swears his fidelity - just in time for the Long Night to descend.
With their preplanning, the Long Night is not half as bad as it was in canon - but it's still war. Sansa rules in King's Landing while Jon, Arya, and Bran lead the fighting to the north.
The situation goes poorly at first, with royal forces able to hold The Others off long enough for the Free Folk to to safety - but it's still a retreat, with each loss to the living strengthening the dead. The situation is starting to seem desperate by the time the Others reach the Wall.
In the darkest moment of the Battle of the Wall, the dragon Cannibal arrives at Castle Black to aid Jon, while two of his kin go to help Arya and Bran at the Shadow Tower and Eastwatch-by-the Sea. (These dragons being ice dragon cousins of the Targaryen fire dragons of the east, and thus drawn to the Stark bloodline when they bother to take riders at all.) Together they are the three heads of the dragon...
...and they start pushing the Others back. Within two years, they have won and the Night King is destroyed.
Jon goes on to rule for several more decades, beloved and capable in a way that no Targaryen ruler before him has ever been. (His few detractors are quick to point out he's more Stark than Targaryen, but Jon takes that as a compliment.) His queen, Sansa, seems less a consort and more a co-ruler, and is possibly more beloved than her husband. Their rule is one of peace and growing prosperity throughout the Seven Kingdoms and takes up an almost Arthurian place in the later history and mythology of Westeros.
They never speak of their experiences in Narnia to anyone - save Jon and Sansa's eldest son, Robb and Margery's eldest daughter, Arya's heir, and one of Bran and Shireen's middle children, who fall into Narnia themselves while exploring the Red Keep, who help the rightful king retake his throne...
Bonuses include: 1) The relationship between Robb and Jon never quite getting back to where it was before the Narnia interlude. As a result, Robb and Theon become even closer - which may have a strong role in Theon's efforts to turn the Iron Islands away from raiding. Dealer's choice if this relationship is bromance or romance; 2) A revival of the Old Gods and their religion following in the wake of the Targaryen Restoration. They win many converts everywhere the Stark family gains a foothold and godswoods are restored throughout the Seven Kingdoms; 3) A projection of Westerosi power into the lands beyond the Wall. At first this is nominal, but as parts of Beyond The Wall start to build villages and keeps similar to those in the North, things begin to change. Within 100 years most of the area capable of being settled this way is under control of their own Lord Paramount descended from a marriage between Robb and Theon's lines. The lands further north continue their pre-War lifestyles, but are nominally part of Westeros as well; and 4) Daenerys lives a happy life with Drogo in Essos. She watches with pleasure as her son Rhaego forms the largest land empire the world of ice and fire has ever seen - and lives just long enough to see that empire collapse after his death as his heirs scrabble for power. One of her great-grandsons, however, does end up on the throne of Yi Ti. His dynasty will eventually rise to be Westeros' great eastern rivals.
And that is surprisingly more than I thought'd I'd have. @kyuremking, IDK if this is quite what you were looking for, but it's the best I could come up with. As always, feel free to adopt this bun, just link back if you do anything with it.

You know that post about how Tolkien's stories are presented as translations of texts from earlier ages, and how that's grounds to diversify Middle-earth because translators in our world (like say a white male Oxford don born in the late Victorian era) may have made erroneous assumptions about characters' gender and race (and hell who's to say those characters even thought of gender and race the same way we do in the first place)?
Well I thought something similar could work for Narnia. I seem to recall that the narrator mentioned hearing these stories firsthand from the Pevensie kids. One could easily imagine that said narrator added a lot of the series's relatively conservative attitudes on gender and colonialism. For example, Father Christmas might not have actually told the kids that "battles are ugly when women fight," and Calormen might not have really been a dystopia of Oriental Despotism™ standing against Christian virtues.
Hell, maybe The Last Battle got written when Susan woke up in a cold sweat after Aslan sent her a "get your shit together" vision because she'd grown estranged from her family. Then some time after telling the narrator that she saw Narnia's destruction and her family's death, Susan sent a followup letter/telegram along the lines of "false alarm, Lucy sent word that they're all fine."

𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 — ⟢ Could I please ask for a modern au moodboard of Lucy Pevensie, please?? Thank you so much!! 💖
of course, my beloved alexandra !! here you go !! <3
Tumblr media
in this au, lucy is currently a freshman university student majoring in history. she’s always been fascinated with the world’s history and all of its stories, and that all only increased when she and her siblings became involved with narnia, so of course she had to go study it.
that’s right, the pevensies’ adventures in narnia still happened in this au! since the last time they left, peter went to med school and is currently interning at a hospital, susan became a librarian in one of london’s biggest libraries, and edmund joined the military to try and recapture the feeling he felt fighting with narnia’s armies. they don’t talk about narnia as much as any of them wants to, but they all wear necklaces with golden lion’s head charms in honor of aslan that they never take off.
lucy is mildly addicted to caffeine in this universe, despite her doctor brother’s warnings that too much of it will hurt her system - she hates to go a day without a caramel macchiato from her favorite cafe near her university campus.
she’s just recently come out as bisexual to her family, telling her siblings all at once first and her parents shortly before she left from university (they were all supportive, of course), and edmund even gifted her a bi flag to hang up in her dorm room. she actually has a crush on a girl in one of her classes, and although susan’s the only one who knows about it, she still endures plenty of teasing for it.
she also really loves pizza! there’s a shop just a few minutes from her campus, and it’s become her go-to place for food after a midnight studying session, or to visit with her friends when they all miraculously have some free time and they can hang out together.

I'm thinking about that Casmund in Engand au again, and you always send me asks, so I thought I should send you one. The Pevensies would have fun showing Caspian around, because he's so curious; he would get super excited about everything. Trains! Moving pictures! Museums! Imagine the Pevensies trying to take him grocery shopping and he's just delighted by all the random colorful boxes of everything. Lucy thinks it's so funny and Susan is embarrassed because he's attracting attention and Peter has to be the sensible one and say "no, Ed, we're on a budget you can't buy your boyfriend every snack in the store". Or imagine Edmund taking Caspian on a museum date, and they go for a picnic after. And then they get ice cream. I think Caspian would lose his mind over ice cream.
Honestly the whole time I'm imagining Caspian and Edmund being cute and wholesome. With Lucy adding to it. Edmund is just in total euphoria that Caspian is here( he'd resigned himself with never seeing him again). So I kind of imagine them being kind of like Rose and Jack in Titanic type wild and happy. With Peter and Susan kind of having to keep them on task just like you said. Peter more so because money, Susan I headcanon as a lesbian. So shes happy for them, but again doesn't want them to attract attention.
I feel like they'd have a lot of fun taking Caspian to the movies first because its unlike anything he's ever scene. And in a car too.
Though yes Edmund has to constantly be stopped from buying Caspian so much stuff. I think throughout the first day, Edmund and Caspian sneak off on their own a lot and the pthers have to catch up to them. Especially by the end of the night they go get ice cream together and end up coming back to the house by themselves. Caspian makes a comment about not being ablebyo see the stars so clearly here. But Edmund makes a promise that he'll take him to the country side, so they'll be able to see more stars clearly. Just know by the end of the night they got a lot of things for Caspian.

💙 My Modern Caspeter Headcanons 💙
Hey, Narnians! How are you? Here goes my first contribution to the fandom (and of course it would be about Caspeter because they are my new current obsession ❤️).
I want to make clear the headcanons are mostly based on the movie version of the characters (tbh I really need to reread the books).
Anyway, enjoy it.
P.S.: Forgive me for any grammar mistake, english's not my first language.
Warning(s): Slight mention of abuse (it happens outside of the relationship), implied NSFW stuff

Peter met Caspian for the first time when they were both 15. At the time, Caspian had just moved to the Pevensies' neightborhood with his uncle, his aunt and his baby cousin. Peter's mother convinced him and his siblings to pay a visit to the house across the street and welcome the new family. He didn't get very excited with the idea.
Something about Caspian made Peter strangely uncomfortable. Maybe it was the boyish way Caspian put his hands on the pockets of his ragged jeans, or his spanish accent, or how his long, wild black hair fell beautifully around his face and large shoulders. Or maybe it was the way Caspian's brown eyes found his blue ones and stared at them intensely from time to time, but suddenly looked away. Wait! Why is he paying so much attention to these details anyway?!
The fact his mother just got all excited with him and Caspian being about the same age, attending the same school and becoming best friends and all that bullshit just made Peter even more annoyed at this new pretty boy, who seemed destinated to be a very constant presence in his life from that moment on.
Peter would find in Caspian an adversary just as skilled (and just as competitive) as him in the P.E. classes, regardless of the sport. But it was in fencing that the situation really heated up between them. The trainer would even try to avoid putting Peter and Caspian to fight against each other because he saw that, whatever was going on between these two, they took it very VERY seriously.
Peter complained about Caspian a lot at home and everytime Edmund was around, the younger one would shout a joke about their "so obvious unresolved sexual tension" just to see his older brother's cheeks grow hot in anger and embarrassment (Ed: For the fuck's sake, just admit you dream about kissing Caspian under the moonlight and spare our ears from all this shit talk of yours! / Peter: I'd rather kiss a horse's ass!).
One day, in the school's yard, Peter got involved in a fight after trying to defend a younger boy from a group of bullies. He handled himself well for a while but It didn't last long. He was already getting his ass kicked until the last person he could ever imagine came to defend him: Caspian. Sadly, this whole thing took both the boys to the principal's office and one whole evening of detention.
After one hour of detention trying to distract himself, Peter's eyes found Caspian with his face in a black notebook and a pencil in his hand. Curious, he walked to Caspian's direction to find an unfinished, but no less beautiful, sketch. When Caspian took conscience of the blond's presence, he tried to close his book as fast as he could, but Peter stopped him right away and complimented his work, asking him if he had more of those.
After that, they got to talk about a lot of stuff and know each other better. Caspian found out Peter wasn't so annoying as he initially thought: he was actually a very nice and funny guy who cared deeply about his family. Peter found out Caspian was not as insufferable as he imagined: he was actually very sweet and, as he already noticed, really talented.
Both also learned a little about their difficult relationship with their families. Peter told about how he and Susan were given a lot more of responsibilities after their parents' divorce and how shaky his relationship with Edmund became at the time. Caspian told about his latin origins, his parents' deaths when he was only 6 and the stressing relationship with his uncle Miraz. He mentioned how unwelcome and unwanted he felt at his own home and, because of that, he always tried to find something else to do or somewhere else to go just so he could avoid his family as much as possible.
They kept talking a little more walking down the way back home together and right before they go separate ways, Peter invited Caspian to go to his house the next day after school, which Caspian gladly accepted.
From that day on, Caspian would become a very present guest at the Pevensies' house. He would stay for lunch (and sometimes even for dinner), do his homework with Peter, watch a movie with him and his siblings or just have a good time doing anything else, no matter how simple it was. Caspian was just happy for being there with them. It was the first time in so many years he felt as part of a family.
Caspian became very fond of Peter's siblings. Peter would always find Caspian joking around with Edmund, or him giving little sweets to Lucy and letting her brush and play with his hair, or even him and Susan sitting on the sofa laughing of some silly story Susan was telling him about the time they were children. Each of these scenes would make Peter roll his eyes, but also bring a fond smile to his face.
However, what really solidified their bond was a little conversation in one of their movie nights at Peter's house when he finally told Caspian he was gay (Peter: Does it make any difference for you or our friendship now that you know that?). And Caspian's answer gave him all the assurance he needed (Caspian: As long as you don't mind me being bisexual.). It was really freeing for both of them.
When talking about falling in love, Caspian was the one to fall first, but Peter was the one to fall harder. They had already felt attracted to one another in the day they first met, but, since they both were still young and immature boys trying to accept their sexualities (especially Caspian, who was absolutely sure his uncle would never accept his nephew being in love with another boy), this fire that burned inside was easily mistaken as jealousy and rivalry as a way to disguise their true feelings.
Peter's family and friends had already noticed what was going on between him and Caspian long before they both had. Lucy and Edmund even tried to plan situations to make them confess their feelings, but the boys were so fucking oblivious that the attemps always failed. After a while, Susan finally convinced their younger siblings to give up and just let things flow (but she would be lying if she said she wasn't a little impatient with how stupidly blind Caspian and Peter were about each other).
It was only after months of pining that one of them finally decided to take the first step. Caspian was in Peter's bedroom discussing with him some ideas to their science project when the brunette dropped his notebook by accident on the floor. Peter got up to help him to take some of the loose paper sheets when he found a specific one that got his attention. It was the drawing of a face... Peter's face. Differently from previous situations, Caspian didn't try to hide it from him and just smiled. After a minute of silence, he told he had made that one in their last art class. (Peter: It's... It's beautiful. / Caspian: Well, not as much as the original face. / Peter: ... and definitely not as beautiful as the artist himself.). When they finally stood, face to face, Peter held Caspian's face and slowly closed the distance between them. When he saw Caspian didn't try to run away, he finally kissed him. And Caspian was more than happy to kiss him back.
Once they officially start dating, they're the softest together. They would always be seen holding hands, kissing, sitting next to each other, whispering in each other's ears and laughing from whatever the other said. Lucy and Susan found really adorable how lovey-dovey Peter acted around his boyfriend. Edmund, as always, would always take an opportunity to joke about the boys' attitude, which embarrassed his brother to no end, but, just like his sisters, he agreed Peter and Caspian were perfect for each other and he was really happy for them.
Caspian's uncle was never an affectionate man - he could actually be pretty hostil and agressive, especially when Caspian displeased him for any little reason - and his aunt seemed to simply ignore him most of the time. Because of that, he grew out to be very touch-starved and internalized the idea that his feelings didn't matter, so it would better if he kept his mouth shut. Hugs were his primary love language and he always longed to give and receive them from the people he loved. However, there were times he would close himself and keep quiet about his feelings because he feared that his clingy behavior could creep Peter out. But Peter knew him better than anyone and, in the end of the day, he was always there to prove him wrong.
After their high school graduation, they decide to leave their homes and move to their own flat. Caspian gets so relieved for finally having a place of his own and not needing to have any contact with his family anymore. And the fact he was doing all of this with Peter by his side just gave him all the hope that, whatever the hardships they would face, they would do it together. He knew he wasn't alone anymore.
Peter loves Caspian's hair. It's about the relaxing feeling of running his fingers through those luscious black locks while they were laid in bed or when Caspian rested his head on his lap while they watched TV. But what he likes the most is to wrap his fingers through Caspian's curls and slightly pull them during a passionate kiss, which most of the time leads to more... intimate stuff. And Caspian definitely has no complaints about it. He even considered cutting his hair once, but he soon put this idea aside.
There's something really sexy about Caspian's spanish accent, especially when he talked with that low and hoarse tone he always had in the morning. And when Caspian comes closer in bed to wake Peter up and whispers words of love to him in spanish, his lips gently caressing his cheek... Oh God, that shit's enough to fucking turn him on.
As for Caspian, there are mornings when Peter wakes up earlier to make them breakfast. After some minutes, Caspian wakes up with the smell of hot coffee and toasts coming from the kitchen. There was this time that, after putting on a robe and going to the other room, he found Peter standing there with a cup in his hand, his beautifully messy blond hair shining with the sunlight coming from the window, wearing nothing but his underwear and the white shirt Caspian wore last night, only half buttoned, exposing his collarbone and part of his chest. He turned around and opened a big cheeky smile and said "Good morning" with his most seductive voice, offering him a cup of coffee. Caspian swore he felt his heart skip a beat in front of such heavenly image.
After spending all the breakfast staring intensely at each other, Caspian didn't even wait to go back to their bedroom before taking Peter in his arms and putting him sat on the table. He finished opening Peter's shirt and kissed him all the way through his jaw and neck. It doesn't take long to Peter to open Caspian's robe and kisses him back. And they definitely didn't stop there.
They aren't the kind of couple who fights constantly, but when they do, they can lose their patience very easily over the most silly, stupid things. In those situations, they would walk away and stay in different rooms without looking at each other for hours. When they finally calmed down and the loneliness sinked in, one of them would go to the other and apologize, even if it wasn't necessarily their fault. They could drive each other crazy sometimes, but they hated to stay like this. They love each other. That was all that truly mattered in the end.
They love to do all the kind of romantic stuff that lovers do. They go out on dates, give the other flowers and chocolates, borrow each other's clothes, share the headphones while listening to music, rest their heads on the other's shoulder and fall asleep right after (Peter was known for doing that a lot), hold each other in their sleep, and the list goes on.
After they graduate in college and find stable jobs (Peter as a doctor and Caspian as an artist), they finally decide to adopt a dog. Peter was the one who insisted on the idea and how could Caspian ever say 'no' to him? But it was only after they go to the shelter and see the big bright smile on Peter's face when they were taking their new puppy home that Caspian knew this was one of the best choices they ever made in their lives.
