AHEM* okay so l'm kinda very stupid bc I forgot for a while that I decided to write fan-fics..... Anygays a while ago someone asked me for “Lubbock confessing to Najenda" and I feel so sorry. that it took me this long to make this. This was requested by @lujenda

It was a normal hot day the members of night raid doing their daily routers akame was cleaning her sword tatsumi doing anything and everything Leone and mine taking a bath in the hot springs bulat was training like the hot gay guy he is (bc like that one scene of him when he was o the boat with tatsumi got me fired up fr fr) (also rip) and so on while the one and only pervert of the group was busy stalking their beautiful and strong leader who was on a hunt for wild game.

Najenda ofc new she was being followed but paid Lubbock no mind continuing on her way. After about an hour she had caught enough for the next few days. Then she yelled

“Lubbock get your ass out from those bushes and help me drag all this food back!”

Lubbock sprung up in surprise and saluted “YES MA’AM!”

Quickly he uses his imperial arms to wrap up the animals in and tries to start dragging them but fails. Najenda then sighs and takes the now bundled up animals in one arms and says

“let’s go ya idiot”

Lubbock nods his head eagerly.

After some walking they then retch the base and bring the food to the kitchen for akame to choose what to cook. But before they enter the kitchen Lubbock speaks

“wait! ms Najenda I have something to tell you”

Najenda then turns to look at Lubbock knowing what he is going to say.

“I love you so please go out with me!!!” He says with complete seriousness

“no” Najenda says immediately. It’s not that she doesn’t like him but feelings will get in the way of the mission. but…if she had the choice she would say yes.

disappointed because of yet another rejection Lubbock looks towards the ground. But the feels something on his head.

he looks up to see the it’s Najendas hand on his head. And with a smile on her face she says

“maybe in the future”

now psyched up Lubbock jumps and becomes energetic once again.

respectfully, i am writing this small oneshot at 11 pm, listening to In my room by Chance Peña (higly recommended for you to do so if you happen to read the whole thing), inspired by @valentinosbabyhoe 's I'm your shoulder to cry on, your soul to rely on post and honestly i really could use a shoulder to cry on, too, rn. so go and read it, people! mine's just an adaptation in my style, but god forgive me, i had to write it.

summary: najenda's been trough a lot that particular day (and ofc her whole life too lol), so bulat, as a good friend comforts her. no romance, no smut, just fluff.

slight (or not so slight) spoilers for Akame ga Kill! ep. 8 and ep. 17. If you haven't watched them so far, i don't think you should read that, but you do you.

We're here for you.

That day was tough.

Not only they confronted half of Esdeath's elite team, the Jaegers, Leone's lost and arm, they also lost Chelsea. And on top of that, Tatsumi was the one who found her head severed and pinned on a pole in the capital. The poor boy seemed to slowly realize that he should get used to it, the pain caused by people brutally drifting into nothingness and leaving this land for once and ever - but losing a teammate was not a thing that one could and would get used to.

And no one ever expected a single soul to do so.

That's why Najenda ended up in her room, courtains closed, door locked, staring at the wooden parquet with blunt eyes.

It was cold. Yes, the room, but her heart too. She should be feeling sad. She should be grieving. She should be recalling the moments she spent with Chelsea, the young girl who gave her life in order to make this world a better place, where now she would not set foot in ever again. Her silly jokes with Mine, her racks with Tatsumi, her mischievous smile as she licked her (always pink) lollipop. A girl who helped them, became one of them, fought alonside them and-

She didn't even notice the tears flooding her eyes but when she heard the hesitant yet so self-conscious knocks on her door.

"Najenda-san?"

She didn't even need to hear the voice, she knew immediately who it belonged to. Najenda quickly wiped her tears off - almost as if it was a reflex now - and opened the door.

"Ah, Bulat. Is everything okay? What brings you here at this late hour?" She asked, cracking a smile at him. The man pressed his lips together to a thin line, and softly tilted his head sideways.

"I was going to ask the same thing. Except for the latter part, of course," he replied.

"Thank you for your concern, I am perfectly fine. I was just having a bit of a trouble falling asleep, but everything is okay."

Bulat didn't reciprocate the smile. Instead, for her surprise, he put a hand on her shoulder, and using that moment he stepped inside the room, not letting go of her even when she wasn't facing him.

"Najenda-san," he whispered, "you know, just because you are our leader, that doesn't mean that you have to hide your feelings from the team. You are a valuable human being, too, and you have the rights to feel what you do. I just wanted to make sure that you know the team is here for you, whenever you need them. I am here for you."

Najenda didn't answer. No, she couldn't answer. Her brain just shut down, her heart suddenly became so overwhelmed she couldn't process all the things she wanted to say at this exact second, and her voice, she felt it, became scratchy as tears flooded her eyes yet again. So she just stood there, in perfect silence, trying to hide her body's shaking, still not facing the man who's hand rested on her shoulder.

And then she let Bulat hold her hand, awfully gently guide her to the bed, and make her sit down beside him. She couldn't look into his eyes. Was she so transparent? When did she slip and show her feelings to him? Does the team know how wrecked she really is? That even she questions herself every single day if she's still capable of guiding them in this very state?

"Don't worry. If you want me to, i won't tell them about any of this," he said softly, not letting go of her hand that seemed so tiny in his giant palms.

She only nod her head, feeling so torn and vulnerable at this moment. But he didnt say anything more, only started to slightly stroke her hair, back and waist, when she finally broke down.

And he hugged her trough the whole night.

Even though she knew he was never there, and never will be again.

But...he was in deep shit as he find himself staring at icy blue eyes of Esdeath Parta, Mafia Queen of the Partas Family and head of the Jaegers. Around him was the broken bodies of some of the member of the Jaegar member who was moaning in pain after the brutal beating he give to them.
