Today is probably the first time I've actually logged a binge. I've never taken accountability for it when I've done it in the past. I just tell myself "I slipped up, but I'll do better next time. I'm not going to count it because it will be discouraging" but... actually counting it has been extremely eye opening. Is it MORTIFYING to see that I blew 26 points/750 calories on what was essentially a snack? Absolutely. But... I've got to take accountability for it if I'm ever going to get better.
Acceptance is a healthy coping mechanism, as in, I accept that I had a binging episode. But NOT accepting the CONSEQUENCES of the episode (being in a point/calorie surplus) is just another form of avoidance. It's okay, to be gentle with myself. But I've also got to take responsibility for it. I hope that logging the binges and seeing just how much it's not worth it, will help me avoid the behavior in the future. I'm also going to start keeping a list of the types of foods that trigger these episodes. First entry: trail mix 🙄

A year ago, a "treat" for me would have been going through the drive through for chicken nuggets and fries. The old me really thought garbage fast food was a "treat". THIS is a treat. And I literally ate all the cucumber first 😂
