[ 3:09am ]

You turned to the other side of the bed again, trying to find a comfortable position that would gift you a good night’s sleep. But nothing seemed to work. No matter what position, how many blankets you had, or whether you were lying on the cool side of the pillow seemed to make any difference.

You tried drinking water, warm milk, taking melatonin, a breathing exercise, listening to soft music, and lying down with your eyes shut for 30 minutes. Yet, still, sleep evaded you.

You sighed in frustration, feeling hopeless at this point. Why was falling asleep so damn hard?

Your eyes glanced over to your boyfriend who was sleeping soundly next to you. How did he manage it so easily every night?

You hesitated, not knowing if waking Myungjun up was really the best idea. But you didn’t know what else to try at this point. You tapped his shoulder ever-so-gently, eyes watching his face in hopes he would wake up.

He stirred slightly, his eyes opening slowly and a sigh leaving his lips. “Baby?” He asked softly, realising something must be wrong if you were still awake at this hour. He observed your face, worry setting in his features as he noticed how sleep-deprived you looked.

“I can’t sleep…” You whispered helplessly. The amount of failed attempts at falling asleep tonight was just making you feel like shit. Even a newborn baby could get to sleep just fine, but you couldn’t?

“I’m sorry to wake you up… but I’ve tried everything, and I just want to get some sleep. Can we cuddle or something?” You asked, and Myungjun nodded immediately.

“Of course. Come here.” He smiled, grabbing your wrist gently, and pulling you over so your head was resting on his chest. He hugged you, left hand rubbing up and down your back in a soothing manner.

“Do you want me to sing for you?” He offered, wanting to try anything he could to let you get some rest as soon as possible.

You smiled, “Yes please.” You closed your eyes, hugging him tighter and snuggling under the covers. He started to sing softly, almost in a whisper. It was delicate and breathy, and even though he had just woken up 3 minutes ago, he sounded gorgeous.

With the help of his singing, you were slowly lulled to sleep, breathing deepening. Myungjun smiled and closed his eyes too, drifting back to sleep easily with you in his arms.

pairing: hufflepuff!sanha x gryffindor!reader ft. mj who made a small irrelevant appearance lol

genre: hogwarts!au, fluff, humor, rivalry, angst(?)

warnings: lowercase intended, cheating (academic/sports), bets, pda, taking and sharing photos without consent

synopsis: y/n, a popular quidditch player, looses a bet with yoon sanha, and was conditioned to teach him how to properly play quidditch.

author notes: a tiny disclaimer, i'm not the hugest potter head so i don't really know about the school rules or whatever, but i just really liked the idea of hogwarts romance it's cute lol. i also wanted to try typing in lowercase bc why not 💀

“professor, you’ve got to be kidding!” you complain, as you try to catch up with your professor regarding your assignment for the care of magical creatures subject.

“well miss l/n, i’m not!” she laughs, before going into her office. you grunt, eyebrows furrowed.

you have one job. to take care of yoon sanha’s cat, while he had to take care of your owl. however, nothing can be trusted with that narcissistic ass.

…

“sanha, please. don’t mess this up. take very very goo-“

“good care of him, i know.” he groans.

“sanha i'm serious!"

"why can't you just trust me?" sanha pouts,

"because, remember the egg project during our 2nd year?" your arms crossed.

"but thats just an egg!"

"not only that project, the multiple papers i've entrusted to you for our projects all suddenly disappeared in your care!" you argue.

"what's happening here?" eunwoo, your senior butts in.

"eunwoo-hyung!" sanha's eyes lighten.

"sunbae!" you exclaim

you and sanha glare at each other.

"why are you two arguing?" eunwoo questions,

"because! this ass is so irresponsible!" "y/n says i'm too irresponsible!" you both say at the same time.

"what? explain one by one, please." eunwoo sighs.

"y/n-" "sanha has to take care of my owl but i really really really don't trust him!"

"yah!" sanha shouts, making you smirk.

"i have to say i'm on y/n's side here." moonbin, your other senior comes in as well.

"hey, don't take sides!" sanha grumbles.

"i think you guys should make a bet!" moonbin suggests, wrapping his arm over eunwoo's shoulder.

eunwoo tsks at moonbin, shaking his head.

"you're so obsessed with bets..." eunwoo sighs.

"yeah yeah, like you aren't too." moonbin laughs.

"what kind of bet?" sanha questions.

"sanha!" you push him, making him whine.

"why? i'm just interested!"

"how about, a bet where you guys take care of each others pet right? whoever gets the pet attached to them wins!" moonbin smiles.

"that isn't a good idea. you shouldn't tamper with the relationship of the student and their-"

"deal!" you and sanha cut off eunwoo.

moonbin laughs, looking at eunwoo's annoyed face.

...

It's been days, weeks, and eventually 3 months. and unfortunately,

"HAHAHAHA!" sanha cackled.

"you're kidding!" you groaned, watching your majestic owl flap it's wings on sanha's shoulder.

"i win y/n! now you gotta do what i want!" he giggled.

"you're literally 10, shut up." you said, walking towards him to take your owl.

it gladly went back to you, sanha pouted as it did.

"even if you see me as a 10 year old, a bet is a bet! 10 year olds can make bets you know!" sanha argued.

"fine. what do you want?"

"teach me how to play quidditch! i made a bet with rocky hyung who also totally sucks at quidditch." sanha smirked.

"you and your brothers must be extremely addicted to bets..." you sighed, sanha's eyebrows furrowing at the statement you made.

"that doesn't matter! just teach me how to play!" sanha stomped his feet, like a child.

"okay, okay..." you muttered, choking your attempt to not laugh.

"let's go!"

"right now?"

"yes, of course! the game's in 2 weeks!" sanha said, grabbing your hand.

...

"look, you know this is cheating, right? a student is not allowed to coach another student." you say, holding your broomstick tightly, another in your hand for sanha.

he nods his head.

"that's why, you must never, ever, ever, tell anyone... deal?"

"deal!" he said, bright smile plastered on his face.

a smile threatened to appear and break your poker face. you tried to stop yourself from smiling by handing the broomstick to the tall being. sanha gives a soft 'thank you', before taking it, with extra care.

"okay, so you know how to ride a broomstick at least, right? unless... you didn't listen during our first year." you looked at him, and he simply gave you a smile.

"you're kidding. hufflepuffs really suck at quidditch don't they?"

"not all hufflepuffs!"..... "well, i'll admit that 90% of us are horrible at the game, but at least we try!"

you laughed at his attempt to defend his house.

...

a week finally passes, another week left to go.

"y/n, i think i'll really really really beat you this time!" he says, determined.

"okay, lover boy."

"ew! what is that nickna-"

"i win." you said, pointing at the ball that was rapidly falling down.

"i- it's because you distracted me!" sanha said, blushing furiously.

"well, that's what minhyuk oppa will do during the game, is it not?" you laughed.

"yes..." sanha sighed, in defeat.

"okay, try again. this time don't be distracted, lover bo-"

"s-stop!!"

you simply laugh at his tomato face, until you throw the ball at sanha to start the game.

...

finally, a week has passed.

you sit down on one of the audience seats, waiting for sanha and rocky to appear.

"y/n!" someone calls from your left, making you look.

"oh my god! oppa!" you said, giddy, giving him a tight hug.

your long time crush, and senior, myungjun came. however, you've moved on from him a ling time ago since he has already graduated, and is working outside hogwarts. sanha was the only one who knew about your crush, accidentally after snooping in your diary for fun.

"i didn't know you'd be here, how come?" you asked him.

"eunwoo told me rocky and sanha would be having a small tournament. i wanted to watch the most horrible quidditch players i know play!" mj laughed.

you laughed with him, not noticing sanha floating in the air infront of you.

"uh... excuse me?" sanha looked at both of you with obvious jealousy.

"oh, sanha!" you said, walking towards him.

"y/n, it's about to start... i'm very nervous." he sighed.

"what do you want me to do about it?"

"it's kinda embarrassing..." he whispered.

"go on, i don't care."

"really?" he asked.

"mhm." you hummed in approval.

"call me lover boy." he said, in an extremely soft voice.

"what? come again?"

"call me lover boy!" he shouted, his iconic tomato face appearing.

"yah! not so loud!" you said, looking around, embarrassed, your seniors looking at the both of you weirdly.

awkward silence was filling the atmosphere, as your flustered self looked at sanha's red face.

"f-fine..." you grumbled.

anticipation filled sanha's heart, a smile slowly forming his face.

"good luck and do your best..." you said, "l-lover boy."

extremely blushed and flustered faces were plastered on both of you, until you suddenly kissed him on the cheek.

he looked at you, shocked, until a whistle blows along with the calls of his hyungs to start the game. he flies to start the game, leaving you.

...

the game finally ends, with rocky gaining the triumph.

you go down to visit sanha. who was currently sitting town.

"sanha, you okay?" you towered above him.

"yes? no... uh, i don't know?" he said, avoiding eye contact.

"god, i distracted you didn't i?" you frowned. "i shouldn't have kissed you..." you whined.

"oh no! i-it's totally fine..." he stuttered.

"b-but i admit, even though you were red and flustered like a tomato during the game, you still did great..." you complimented him.

"thanks..." he let out a shaky sigh, before standing up.

"ye-yeah?" you said, looking up at the tall figure that was now towering over you.

"y/n, these past few weeks, i've realized that you- you- you're-"

he paused, looking into your eyes.

"I THINK YOU'RE HOT AND I LIKE YOU!" he said, before running away screaming.

you blushed, hard. super hard. extremely hard. (Ayo?🤨)

"S-SANHA! WAIT UP!" you shouted before chasing after him.

...

you lost him. you couldn't find him, he's gone!

you asked everyone around if they'd seen him, unfortunately no one has.

"where did this dumb brick go?" you whispered to yourself, as you continued to look for him.

you arrived at the library, looking through every. single. isle.

you heard whispers coming from one of the isles, the whispers sounding like sanha's annoying voice which you liked so much.

you slowly walked to the isle, to find sanha with his hyung, jinjin.

"well you should've watched the game to see what happened!" sanha complained.

"so you just basically... ran away?" jinwoo teased him.

"yeah..."

"well, go back and find her you stupid boy!" jinjin scolded, pushing sanha to leave.

"o-okay..."

"i don't he'll be needing to find me." you popped out, smiling.

sanha froze when he saw you.

"come here sanha."

he looked at his hyung, scared.

"just go..." jinwoo rolled his eyes.

sanha walked to you, looking at your face to find any anger or any negative emotions in your expressions.

"why'd you run away?" you asked him.

"i... i just didn't want to be rejected."

"rejected? you didn't even get to hear my response!" you whispered in an annoyed tone.

"it's because, i realized that it was the extremely worst timing since m-hyung came back..." he pouted.

"yah! i'm totally totally over him!" you said, making sanha feel relieved.

"why would i kiss your cheek if i didn't like you?" you mumbled.

"y-you like me?" sanha's eyes widened.

"yes, for a while now... most of the time i just act annoyed with you because of the task, but i promise you, i'm actually super duper in love with you." you explained.

sanha was flabbergasted, he didn't know what to say. at all.

"oh... okay." he breathed.

"so?"

"oh... okay." he said once again, making you laugh.

you looked into his eyes, before going on your tiptoes, grabbing sanha's nape to make him bend down more.

you connect your lips with his, for a short second, before pulling away.

"oh." said sanha.

"is oh your favorite word now?" you giggled, still on your tiptoes, arms wrapped around his shoulder.

"i... i don't know." he smiled, before kissing you again.

*click*

you broke the kiss to see where that noise came from, only to see jinwoo taking photos with his phone.

"s-sunbae!"
