Neil's recent pics are having such a terrible influence on me because i can't stop thinking about situations.

specifically about going hiking/camping deep in the wilderness to escape the city and the stress of it all back home. but you're underprepared for the reality of the backcountry, and there's definitely Something Out There. hunting you, stalking you. chasing you. you run from it, and get hurt. all alone in the wilderness that everyone warned you was too far, and too remote for rescue. but lucky you. an unkempt Scottish man in the woods comes to help. and Johnny is so sweet, so eager, and has everything he needs to take care of you at his home, don't you worry. he def has your best interests at heart when he leads you to this rural cabin on uncharted land. completely cut off from everything you've ever known. including rescue.

but he's for sure gonna let you go once the snow melts and your injuries heal. just ignore the part where he keeps calling you his wife, and talking about forever.

i love the idea that Wild is a big brother to basically all of the kids in his Hyrule. it’s such a good heacanon that i never see utilized.

Haha, I will GLADLY talk about more worldbuilding nonsense.

So, uh--more made-up KH myths, haha, but I kind of had the idea that there are all sorts of stories about Kingdom Hearts and the X-blade that are only like...partially true. They're an amalgamation of stories that have changed over time as people have told them, with probably a lot of people disagreeing on the specifics. (Which is also 100% my justification for anything someone says about Kingdom Hearts/the X-blade War/etc. that seems to contradict information from earlier; they're all just going off different stories that they've heard, which may or may not be true.) The original idea, though, was that the heart of the original world had to be locked away for its own protection, and a single individual was given the only key to unlock it and charged with protecting it. (...Uh. At least in the Fallen Stars-verse, haha.)

Anyway, I like to think that the X-blade doesn't specifically need to have "13 Darknesses and 7 Lights" to reform; that's just one of many, many stories that cropped up about it. It just needs a large amount of Light and Darkness; essentially, it's a sort of, "When things get out of balance, the weapon will return to give people the ability to access the world's heart and restore it" sort of thing.

Venitas exists because Xehanort THOROUGHLY fucked up. Like--technically the weapon just comes when there's enough light and darkness fighting in an area to cause a significant disturbance, but it's not really supposed to be like...such a big disturbance in a single person. They already had a lot going on just as a person pulled apart (like. The trauma that would've caused them, man--), but if combined with a potential Ancient Darkness/Light--it basically made a mess of things. (Congrats, Xehanort! You have created an entity that is kind of a demigod entirely by accident.)

thinking about all of the wonderful book witcher designs that i’ve seen from fanartists across decades of fandom (i.e., way before i joined the fandom) and how different everyone’s designs are, yet how they all are so similar because we’re all inspired by the same descriptions, we’re all working with the same text. the distinguishing features come from creating based upon our personal interpretations and imaginations, which are unique to us. and yet all images, in all of their differences, are the same character, the same description, the same text
