#my next appointment is in 2 weeks but i don't think i can wait that long

I see a lot of people joking about the adhd thing of "I have a appointment/phone call at 3pm, guess I won't do anything all day!"
But no one seems to make the connection that it's a time blindness thing. One of the symptoms of ADHD is not having a good and accurate sense of time. And not doing stuff prior to an event with a hard deadline is an obvious coping mechanism for that.
Can I go to the store? It's 10am and the appointment is at 3pm. How long does going to the store take? An hour? Three hours? Five hours? I DON'T KNOW!
I get anxious trying to do things before appointments because I'm aware that I don't know how long those things take, and that if I think I do, I may be very wrong. Too often I've been like "hey I can walk to the corner store and grab a drink, that'll take like 15 minutes!" and then an hour later I get back and whoops my rice has burnt.
Plus there's also the fact that ADHD people know that motivation and focus is a two-edged sword.
Like, let's say you decide to play a video game. You've got time, you can pause/save whenever, so this should be a perfect fit to make good use of your waiting-time. So you start playing and WHOOPS you get really focused for some reason today (because people with ADHD do not get to pick when their brain decides to focus) and the next time you look at the clock it's 2:49 and you haven't showered or dressed and the appointment is 30 minutes away. Fuck. (you could have set an alarm, but now you're asking people with the forgetting-things-and-time-ignoring condition to remember it set alarms)
And with motivation, it can be almost worse. Instead of playing a game, you so something useful or creative. You clean your room or fix your plumbing or write a story or draw a picture. And suddenly it's great. Your brain is firing on all cylinders. You've got all the motivation you can ask for, and you are FLYING. the ideas are brilliant, your hands are nimble, you're getting stuff done you've been putting off for weeks or months. And then the alarm goes off. Time to go to your appointment. Fuck.
You drive there, your brain still full of ideas and plans. But by the time you get back, the motivation is gone. You may still have the ideas but you don't have the drive to write them down. You can't force yourself to do it. Your sink is still in pieces. Your room is half-cleaned, and you have to shove all the sorted clothes into one big bin just so you have somewhere to sleep. You've left things half finished again, in a cycle that has been repeating your whole fucking life. It seems sometimes that nothing ever gets finished.
So next time you don't even start. There's not time. You've been burnt too many times. Why add another half-completed project to your pile of shame?
My point is that people seem to be going "lol I can't do anything all day if I have an appointment at 3pm" like this is a quirky "oh I'm so scatterbrained!" weirdness they alone have, and not a major complication of a disabling mental illness.
(and that's not even getting into the secondary effects. If you know that having an appointment ruins your whole damn day, you're going to avoid them. Even when it's things like "going to that party" or "meeting your friends for a drink/game" or "going to a movie with that cute girl from your math class". Things you should enjoy. Things that'd help you be social. Things that make you feel human.)

author's note: part 2 because I couldn't stop thinking about it. I hope you like it. (also, if any of you have any clue about real estate, you are allowed to yell at me bc all my knowledge comes from watching those shows on Netflix...)
part 1
◃▹◃▹◃▹◃▹◃▹◃▹◃▹◃▹◃▹◃▹◃▹◃▹◃▹◃▹◃▹◃▹
“It's gonna have to work somehow,” you sigh and rub your hand over your forehead. You are exhausted, having been up all night to find a solution to the problem your team is facing.  Your head perks up at a knock on the door. “Excuse me, miss, the Cameron account is waiting in your office. He says he has an appointment, although I couldn't find it in your calendar.”  “He doesn't have a fucking appointment,” you yell in frustration. “I'm sorry,” you apologize immediately, close to tears but not about to start crying in front of your coworkers. “It's not your fault. I'll just go and send him away.”
“Why are you here?” you ask while entering your office, and he turns around to smile at you.  “I'm guessing you're not happy to see me?”  “It's really bad timing. You could've called,” you sigh exasperatedly while looking through your emails.  “You didn't leave a number,” he reminds you, and you slowly pick up your head to look at him.  “You have the office number,” you force a smile.  “Yeah, I'm not gonna call your receptionist to ask if you got time to get drunk or need a good fuck,” he says while walking around your desk and standing next to you.  “Would be inappropriate, yes,” you look up at him, but you freeze as you see your dad step inside.
“Y/n, you didn't tell me Mr. Cameron was coming in. I would've welcomed you earlier, Sir,” he introduces himself and Rafe shakes his hand.  “It's really no issue, Mr. y/l/n. I'm in really good hands with your daughter,” Rafe charms him.  “She's the best,” your dad praises you, and you nod along, too tired to actually care. “Now, let me show you around,” he leads him out of your office and Rafe quickly turns his head to give you a slightly panicked look. You mouth a “have fun” at him, and then he's gone, and you are allowed to get back to work.
“Listen, if we switch the staging company-”  “That's not gonna help with the interest rate, James,” you sigh, pacing the room.  “Was just a suggestion,” he mutters.  “I'm calling it. This isn't going anywhere. Let's go home and come back tomorrow morning with some new ideas on how to fix this shit,” you suggest, and the whole team lets out a sigh of relief.  “And here we have- Honey, what are you doing?” your dad interrupts you and your colleagues while packing up.  “Going home. We've been here for over 24 hours,” you explain.  “Can we talk in my office?” he asks, and you follow diligently, leaving Rafe and the others alone in the conference room while you go talk to him.
“It's not a good look to leave early, especially in front of a partner,” he admonishes your choices.  “I honestly don't care what Mr. Cameron thinks, dad. It's my team, my decision.”  “Is the issue at least fixed?”  “No, and it won't get better if I don't give them any rest. I haven’t slept or showered since in two days, dad,” you complain, and he shakes his head but caves nevertheless.  “Fine. But you'll have to come to dinner tonight. This Cameron guy is a big part of our modern strategy, we can't let him slip away.”  “Okay,” you nod and walk back out of the office and towards the conference room to tell your team it was okay to leave.
“Rough day?” Rafe asks while following you back to your office.  “Rough week. Nothing you need to concern yourself with,” you huff but inadvertently stop and turn to look up at him. “Look, all I wanna do is go home take a nice bath, sleep for two hours and then meet both you and my parents for dinner because apparently I don't have any fucking choice. So, just go back to your hotel or do some sightseeing, I don't care, but just go.” “Can I ask something before I leave?” A smile tugging on his lip.  “You just did.”  “When was the last time you actually had sex?”  You turn to make sure there was no one around who could've heard him before pulling him with you into your office.  “You can't just ask shit like that. Especially here,” you hit him against the chest, but he takes your wrist and keeps your hand flat to his body.  “See, I tried hooking up with someone else, multiple someones, but that just didn't hit the same way. It's purely a practical issue, all right.” God, how you hate his macho behavior as if you'd ever fall for it, or him.  “I'm still not answering that preposterous question.”  “So, you didn't? Was there no one or were they just shit?” he asks, a little too cocky for your taste.  “I'm going home now,” you tell him again and start putting your laptop in your bag.  “I didn't book a hotel room. Didn't think I'd need one, to be honest,” he admits and you laugh.  “What makes you think that?”  But he doesn't reply and just looks at you with his blue eyes, eyes that haunt your dreams and sexual fantasies.  “You think ‘cause we hooked up once, you'll get some kinda claim over me? Like, I'm supposed to throw myself at you the moment you step onto the stage? Well, you guessed wrong, darling,” you sneer and go to walk out of the office when he grabs your wrist.  “You didn't answer my question.”  “Fuck, okay, fine. It's shit. It's not- I'm not gonna fucking praise you, asshole,” you scoff and start walking again. “Are you coming or not?”
“I'm still gonna take my bath,” you remind him as his hands find your face to hold onto it while he's kissing you and stumbling backwards out of the elevator, right into your flat.  “Fuck, you can have as many baths as you want. Just lemme fuck you,” he begs after pulling away.  “Jesus, you're needy,” you laugh as he rips your tight dress down, making your tits spill out. “You know that thing has a zipper right?” you ask as he starts kneading and kissing your tits like there's no tomorrow. You're getting wetter by the second, and he doesn't seem to want to stop and actually help you out of the dress.  “Rafe, please, just a minute,” you beg and he holds up to look at you.  “Whaddya need, sugar?” His light southern drawl is making you even needier than you care to admit.  “Can you open the zipper, so I can take this shit thing off?”  “Sure, can do, sweetie,” he puts too much weight into the pet name for it to not be a dig at your dad.  “Don't call me that again, please. Anything but that,” you sigh as he helps you out.
“You know your dad's an asshole, right?”  “Aren't they all?” you huff walking over to the window front that looks out onto Central Park and leaning your head against the glass. “I grew up with him. Of course, I know he's an ass. You think I turned out this sweet ‘cause he was nice?”  “What would he actually say if he knew?” Rafe steps closer to you, opening the knot in your hair and kissing your shoulder.  “Congratulate me or disown me. Either way, it just proves his suspicions right,” you shake your head.  “Why? He thinkin’ you slept your way to the top or what?”  “Oh no, that's all nepotism. No, he thinks I slept with my professors because he can't believe that I made valedictorian and was named party queen of Harvard at the same time.”  “Did you?”  “Once, before he was my Professor, and it didn't have any effect on my grade,” you admit but have to laugh at how absurd it sounds.  “You feeling better now?” he asks while rubbing your arms with his huge hands. “A bit. I'm still not your friend or anything,” you remind him and he laughs.  “Business partners and fuck buddies, I'm okay with that.”  “Good. Grab that chair,” you tell him and point at a lounge chair that stands a bit off to your right.
As soon as the chair is in place you push him down on it, straddling him in it and kissing him relentlessly. His hands are all over you, unclasping your bra in the back and making your tits jiggle as they drop.  “Jesus fucking Christ, why are you so hot,” Rafe rasps, running his hands over the fat on your belly before pressing his face into your chest to motorboat you as best as he could.  His childlike wonder, when it comes to you, makes you somewhat happy about the fact that he had dropped by unexpectedly.  “Rafe?”  “Uh-huh,” he moans against your skin.  “I, uh… I don't have any condoms here,” you admit, and he rips his head up.  “You what? Why? Why would you say that to me right now? I'm already hard for fuck's sake,” he complains loudly.  “I'm sorry that I'm inconveniencing you there, you ass,” you snap and get up, picking up your bra and dress and leaving for the bathroom.  “Fuck, sugar, just come back,” he pleads, but you don't even think about it and instead strip yourself completely to take a shower.
“Okay, listen, I can just go down find a store, buy some and get back here. Easy,” Rafe suggests, and you roll your eyes without looking at him.  “Have you considered that I might not give a shit, jerk?”  “Oh yeah? What's your brilliant idea, miss Harvard,” he scoffs.  “How often do you get tested?” you ask and turn your head far enough to be able to see him stand behind you, nothing but tight boxers left on his body.  “Every other month,” he shrugs.  “When was the last time?”  “Week ago.”  “And?”  “Clean. I'm not risking it, with, like, quick hookups and shit.”  “Me neither. But I've never wanted to fuck a guy more than once either,” you say and turn back to the water that's steaming up the tiled room.  “You want me to fuck you raw?” he asks, sounding as if you had just offered him the job of his life.  “Jesus, don't get yourself so hyped already. I'm just saying it's a potential possibility that needs considering.”  “What about-”  “I've had an IUD since I turned 18 and it's never once failed me. I think it's gonna be fine,” you turn around to face him fully; eyes trailing down to the massive bulge in his boxers.  “So, I'm guessing you've never been fucked while looking down onto Central Park?” you ask with a wide smile, and he shakes his head.
Rafe is back in the chair when you let yourself down on him, feeling every ridge and vein of his huge cock and you both groan at the feeling.  His hand is trailing over your back, drawing lines over it while you let yourself breathe to adjust to him just enough so it doesn't hurt too much.  You turn your head to look at him over your shoulder. “If you wanna tap out, just pinch me. I'm not gonna listen to anything else, I just wanna make that clear.” “Noted,” he grins, and you lean forward in your seat and plant your feet in the ground before starting to bounce on his dick.  “Shit, I missed looking at this ass,” he grunts, and you start bouncing a bit harsher, forcing yourself down on him while moaning loudly.
“Talk to me,” you beg as you keep fucking yourself with his cock.  “You're a real slut, fucking your professor? I bet it turns you on to know how weak you make them. To know they have no control. Making them your little bitch,” his words are frequently interrupted by heavy pants and your excessive moaning, but he continues anyway. “Not with me. You're mine now. I don't give a shit who you were before. All you are now is my little whore, who lets me fuck her whenever I want. Right?” “Yes, daddy,” you cry out and do your best to keep bouncing on him, your hand finding your clit and toying with it.  “You'll let me fill you up with my cum, like the pretty little cumslut that you are. Isn't that right?” he asks and thrusts up into you, meeting the movement of your hips and making you scream as he defiles your cunt.  “Speak up, sugar,” he demands, pulling on your hair and bending you back.  “Gonna make a mess for you, daddy. Just for you.” The tears are running down your cheeks when your orgasm hits you, and he follows instantly, fucking his seed even deeper into you before letting go of your hair and allowing you to get up.
“Can you walk?” he asks, and you nod while dragging yourself over to your bed and falling face-first into the fresh linen.  “I thought I was imagining it, that my memory was skewed,” you mumble into the fabric. “But my memory doesn't come even close to this.”  “Could say the same,” he praises you, and you can't help but blush.  “Have you ever tried vanilla sex?” you ask out of pure curiosity, and he shakes his head while walking over.  “Not a big fan of the lovey-dovey bullshit.”  “Same. That's why I prefer reverse cowgirl, less personal, but I'm still in control for the most part,” you say after turning around to lie on your back.  “We, uhm, could just do it. Like a bucket list thing. Just so we know how it is,” he suggests and you laugh. “Yeah sure.”  “I'm serious. I mean, what's the worst that could happen? We fall in love? As if,” he huffs.  “I'll sue you if you do,” you tell him before pulling him into you and somehow crawling backwards onto the bed. He kisses you, and you feel like you're melting into him, into his touch, his being; all of him.
His swollen tip is nudging at your clit, and you grasp down and put him to your aching hole, pushing him into you just slightly and your eyes already roll back at the feeling. Your senses feel heightened and dull at the same time, as if you are floating while on fire.  “Look at me,” Rafe demands, holding onto your neck and squeezing just enough to make you whimper. You stare into his eyes, the blue is gone, and he starts to smile as he slowly pushes into you. Your eyes widen at the pleasantly painful stretch he's giving your pussy.  And his lips find yours, muffling the moans that threaten to slip out as he pounds into you. But he lets off, kissing your neck, sucking on it and pulling your leg up to get a better angle.
“I'm gonna cum,” you cry pathetically and he laughs.  “No, you're not. You're mine, baby, don't forget that.”  “Please, Rafe.” You are begging once again, and his attack on your tired cunt is just getting worse with every passing minute. You had never begged for an orgasm before. Never had wanted to. But Rafe's way of fucking you is inherently different to anything you had ever felt before.  “Not gonna happen,” he grins down at you, and you whine, but he keeps you pinned down right where he wants you to be. Your hands are clawing at his back, trying to hold onto him for dear life, to not lose yourself entirely.
“Tell me,” he slows, and it's pure torture, slowly dragging his big cock half out of you before slamming back in, giving voice to the most obscene squelching sound you'd ever heard your pussy make.  “I'm still not your type, right?” he smirks, and you throw your head to the side just for him to yank it back. “Answer, or you're not gonna cum on this dick ever again.”  “No. Still no,” you pant, and he kisses you again, pulling your hand down and letting you touch yourself.  His lips are moving towards your ear, nibbling at your earlobe. “Make daddy proud and soak his big cock, sugar,” he growls and your back arches up. Legs trembling as the tight band in your core snaps. The orgasm rips through you without any mercy, and you scream his name, actually trying to make him proud and feel worthy of the pleasure his cock’s giving you.  “Good girl,” he praises, brushing over your cheek. You're completely dazed, only paying half as much attention to him as you wanted to while watching his face contort and hips stutter with sloppy thrusts before he's releasing his hot seed into you.
“In love with me yet?” you joke while lying next to him, and he runs his hands over his short hair.  “Nope,” he shakes his head and purses his lips.  “Good. And if you praise me ever again, I'm gonna kick your ass. Understood?” you sneer while getting up and walking to the bathroom.  “You liked it,” he calls after you with a light laugh swinging in his voice. You know he’s right, but you don't wanna admit it. You don't want to admit to the vulnerability of it all, after having spent years to build yourself up to the person you are now. No longer wasting any more time on what people think of you or giving them any time of day to hurt you. This includes not letting them close to prevent it from ever getting to such a point ever again.  “Just don't fucking say it again,” you tell him as you hear him enter the shower behind you.  “Understood.”
You shower in silence, each of you on one end of the long shower but the glooming feeling that something has changed won't leave you. Not as you leave the shower to dry off, or as you lay down and try to relax for just a bit before you have to get ready. Not while doing your hair and makeup. Not while putting on your dress or when you call your driver.  And he's not saying a single thing. Rafe stays quiet throughout all of it, which makes you a little pissed at him, but you can't let it show.
You arrive ahead of time, your parents not yet there when the hostess shows you to your table, and you order an extra dry martini.  The stark difference in your behavior towards each other outside and inside the bedroom is starting to annoy you. You miss how easy-going he had been that first day you met him. How charming and funny and most of all flirtatious he had acted.  “Tomorrow morning, you're gonna fly home and then I only wanna see you when there's something with the business,” you tell him, trying to get the upper hand in a situation that you had never intended to be in.  “Understood,” he mutters as you both stand up to greet your parents, who are walking over.
The dinner is dry, and you can't wait to finally get home and just sleep. Your mom keeps making indecent jokes and comments towards Rafe, but he just laughs or smirks. And when he's not eating, he has one hand on his whiskey and the other on your thigh, slowly creeping up and making it harder for you to concentrate on what your father is telling you about.  “It's a difficult task, but we'll manage,” you say to your dad before jumping up. “Excuse me for a moment.”  You make a beeline to the restroom, trying to cool off and maybe get your act together. But Rafe won't let you. As soon as you step out of the restroom he yanks you with him to a dark corner of the hallway.
“What are you doing?” you hiss at him, and he pushes you against the wall, caging you in.  “Why are you letting him walk all over you?” Rafe questions, his hand is trailing under the skirt of your dress; fingertips caressing the soft flesh of your thighs.  “He's my boss,” you reply.  “What else?” he taunts, his fingers are pressed against your clit now, making you gulp and bite your lip to not let out a whimper.  “My dad,” you whisper, searching his eyes for approval, but instead he slaps your wet pussy and you squirm.  “You're pathetic, you know that?” he laughs quietly, and you nod, just to please him.  “Rafe, please, just-” you claw at his wrist, but he grabs your cunt even harsher.  “You don't get to pick and choose whenever you like, sugar. You don't want me to be nice, so I'm not. But then all of a sudden, you don't want me to be mean either. Now which is it? One final answer,” he demands, and you let go of him, your hand falling to your side as you admit defeat.  “Good choice,” he growls, pulls your slip to the side and pushes two fingers into your seeping cunt while his free hand is on your mouth, muffling your quiet moans.
His long fingers are curled up inside you, fucking you with no mercy or thought that someone might walk by and see. But you don't care because he's making you feel whole, whispering a plethora of disgustingly dirty shit into your ear, and always changing his technique when he feels you get closer to your release.  “Tell me who you belong to, sugar,” he rasps and you whimper silently. “I'm yours, daddy. All yours.”  “Good,” he seems pleased with himself, and you feel a sigh of relief coming as you're growing closer and closer to your orgasm. But right before you can let go, he pulls away.
“Rafe, no- What are you doing?” You claw at his chest as he steps back and licks his fingers clean of your arousal.  “You don't get to use me and throw me away like a piece of trash. Remember who's got the upper hand here, y/n.” Then he lightly slaps your cheek two times before walking back to the table, leaving you to deal with the consequences of your actions.

WET DREAMZ P4
Tumblr media
Inspired by Wet Dreamz by J.Cole
I wrote back and said "of course I had sex before"
Knowing I was frontin'
I said I was like a pro baby
Knowing I was stuntin'
But if I told the truth I knew I'd get played out son
Hadn't been in pussy since the day I came out one
But, she don't know what
So she done roll back and told me
"Oh you a pro homie? Well I want you to show me
My mama gone for the weekend
So Saturday baby we can get to freakin'"
Warnings: heated make out
"You ever had sex before?"
This question caught Chris off guard causing him to sit looking down wide eyed
He looked at her and saw that she was looking at him waiting for an answer
2 thoughts went through his head, one was, should I just tell her I'm a virgin and I hadn't been in pussy since the day I came out one
Or should I just lie and say I have?
Deciding on the latter, Chris Coughs before writing
"Of course I've had sex before, I'm like a pro baby"
Y/N looked at Chris , seemingly shocked by what he said just as she was going to respond the bell rang.
Chris waited by the door and they both walk together to their next classes
"Well this is me" Chris chuckled as he begins to leave but Y/N grabs his arm to stop him
"I know this is going to sound so straight forward but I literally have not been able to stop thinking about what you told me" she mumbles before taking in a deep breath and looks at Chris
"What are you doing this saturday?"She asks
"I have no plans so nothing much probably, why?" Chris Asks confused
"My parents are gone for the weekend, So you can come over" she says
"Yeah sure we can like watch a movie, relax and shit" he shrugs
"No, you said you were a pro homie, And well I want you to show me" she said before walking away
The week that followed was quite quiet, well as quiet as it could be after Y/N confessed her desire to Chris .
Which, of course freaked him out. I mean it isn't everyday that A drop dead gorgeous girl wants to make a dick appointment with him.
Who wouldn't freak out?
If you had asked Chris how many videos he watched pornos online to help him educate himself on something he clearly wasn't Educated about.
He taught himself how to put on condoms and practised how to stroke right
Fucking hell, why did I have to lie? He thought to himself
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday sped past and before he knew it, it was Saturday night.
Having made sure he wasn't smelling musty and was prepared, Chris began to make his way to Y/Ns house but not without saying a prayer
"I'm praying God please don't let me buss quick"
Arriving at her door, Chris knocked twice before he steps back, after a minute or so, the door opens
"chris hey" she smiled as he looked at her up down, Short shorts and a tank top
- damn
"Come in" she smiles, opening the door wider and grabbing his hand and leading him upstairs
A smirk plays on his face as he closes the front door with his leg and stares at her ass as he followed her blindly
She opens the door to a room and let's go of chris’ hand and sits herself on her king sized bed. He follows suit and sits himself next to her
She crosses her legs and looks at him with a smile
"What is it?" he says looking at her funny which causes her to laugh and shake her head
"Nothing, I just can't believe the guy l've been crushing on for ages, is actually here" she chuckles shyly looking away from his face
"Damn? You're hiding another dude in here?" he says jokingly Which causes the two to start laughing
"Nah I'm playing, you like me?" he asks with a massive smile on his face edging nearer to her
She bites her lip as she looks into his eyes before looking at his lips and then back up to his eyes
Chris cups her face with his hand and leans in and begins to kiss her
She reciprocated and he deepened the kiss, pushing her back slightly so that she was now underneath him
Her hands roam across his torso and she tugs at his shirt to remove it, when she does, she discards it
He removes her tank top and begins to leave kisses and hickeys down her body
Soft moans were heard as She grinded her hips against Him An action that caused him to get hard.
The feelings of worry and stress about whether he was doing things correctly all left his brain as the feelings of euphoria and Bliss overtook him
"You ready baby?" He asks, she nods her head vigorously which makes him laugh
the items of clothing they were wearing were removed wearing was removed
Chris trying to conceal his nerves opens a condom and rolls it on
He positioned himself between her legs and praying to God that he didn't bust quick
Just as he was about to insert himself inside of her
She flinched and grabbed it
An action that caused his heart to beat rapidly, and assuming the worst
Did she change her mind? Was his shit too small to fuck with?
she looks chris in the eye before she says with the sweetest voice
"I wanna get something off my mental, I can tell you're a pro but baby be gentle" she looks down shamelessly
“cause i’ve never did this before”
AHHHHHH OKAY SO IM DECIDING IF I SHOULD END HERE LIKE THE SONG OR HAVE ONE MORE PARTTTT😅 HAPPY NEW YEARS!!

"Not just Ken" - Ken x Reader
Tumblr media
I read some cute stuff yesterday with Ken x Reader and I thought about writing something because my head was all over the place. I like to write but I'm not sure this sucks. Let me know if you like the story and I can manage to write about their story 🥹🥰
~~~~~~☆☆☆~~~~~~~~~~~~☆☆☆~~~~~~
Word count: 1.6k
You're a lawyer and you've met Ken about two months ago, but the guy - the doll - decided he would live better in Barbieland. But what if he wanted to actually live in real world and give a chance to be normal?
You were in your office finishing another appointment with a client after a rough long day of work, not enough coffee cups could make you feel less stressed and you were still going to see two more of them. As you sat in your chair you take the few free minutes you have to check your social media and texts, letting a loud sigh fill the ambiance. A knock on your door gets your attention off the mobile and you look your assistant's head getting in the office, she was a little confused and kinda annoyed, which sometimes wasn't new for you considering the amount of work you were doing during the week. Shelby cleared her throat, looked behind her and looked at you again.
- There's a weird blond man who wants to see you, he says it's important and doesn't wanna wait for another 2 hours. - She emphasized the "2 hours". Holy shit, two hours? What kind of person waits that long to talk to you and doesn't have anything else to do? You realize the weird blond man is nobody but Ken himself. Jesus, Ken, you never learn.
- Let him in, thank you Shelby. - You let a small grin as she gives space for the man-doll to enter and he looks at you like he depends on whatever he wanted to say to you, even though it makes you worried because he's always smiling and spreading joy around him.
- Hey, Ken. What is it you want? - He looked concerned, a bit stressful to say the least. He tried not to keep making eye contact for too long, and he also tries really hard to find the right words.
- I, uh.. I think I'm going back to Barbieland. - His words sounded way too long in your ears and you actually froze for a few seconds, trying to digest the news. You've spent the last two months trying to make him feel comfortable around real people, taught him how to do real people things and made him feel like he could actually give a chance living like a man, not a doll. Boy, did that hurt. And you thought after all this time together he would've enjoyed everything. He sat down on the chair and looked straight at you, a different spark in his blue eyes.
- I'm not sure I'm ready to live in this world, most of the time I like being around and doing different stuff I never did there, but it's too hard to have feelings, you know? I really cherish you, a lot to be honest, but I don't think I can be someone who has real feelings, I try too hard and I fail and it's just not good.
You sat on another chair next to him, slowly holding his cheeks with both hands, bringing him closer to you.
- You look sad, Ken. And that's a feeling, when you feel that way it means you care about other people. - You smiled and saw his lips raising a little.
- That's a feeling? But how can I tell when I have a feeling? Does it just happen? - His genuine question made your heart explode, you know how he's managed to learn all the things you wanted to teach him.
- Most of the time it does, but if it helps you can say whenever you get that. Right now, when you look at me, what is it you think?
It took 15 long seconds for him to say anything, but the way he held your hands that were still in his face you felt a different vibration in your body you couldn't explain. Ken looked down and up straight at you, blue eyes sparkling and transmitting something unusual. A few streak of hair falling in his forehead made him look like he came straight out of a magazine, the same feeling you had the very first time you met him
- I think.... I wanna kiss you, but.. - You acted out of yourself for that moment and stick your lips together as if it was the right thing to do. Obviously, he didn't react like you expected and of course he wouldn't know what a kiss was. That's why you just left your lips pressed for a while, until he realized it was something good he was feeling.
You didn't want to end it, but as soon as you opened your eyes you saw he still had his closed. You held his perfect big hand with your right hand, and with the other one you fixed his bang, leaving a trace with your thumb through his perfect jawline.
- So? - You asked, feeling a little numb, expecting him to finally open his eyes and look at you. Took him way too long to do that, but when he did he opened the biggest smile, showing all of his perfect teeth.
- That was amazing, can we do it again? - He asked, still looking like he had a shot of serotonin in his body. Ken held your hand and your face and gave you another kiss, this time he tried to open his mouth and you gave him permission, trying to find his tongue. The man let out a groan you weren't expecting and it made you tremble between your legs, but forced to stay sane because he was still someone different.
When you parted ways he kissed the back of your hand and smiled at you.
- I've never done that before, but I've watched some movies and saw people kissing all the time. How did I do?
You laughed softly and cherished his face with one of your hands, still feeling numb from the kiss.
- It was really good, Ken. But you still wanna leave, and we can't keep doing that if you're not staying. - You sighed between the words and the realization of him not being there anymore opened a hole in your heart. Never in a million years would you think feeling something for a man-doll would hurt like hell, but he made his presence more than just comfortable and wonderful.
- I don't know what to say now. I guess I wanna go back, I'm afraid I won't be a good person here. - He looked down and rubbed his face like he was starting to have all the emotions at the same time. It must be pain. He was sad when he came in, felt happy when he kissed you and now he was distressed. - Do you think I can try? I really like you, I know that. But what if I don't act like you all?
- Look, you don't have to fight against it, just take your time. What you're getting now is a mix of emotions and it means you have feelings. You know I'm always gonna be by your side if you decide to stay, but I can't choose for you.
- If you could, would you like me to stay? - He asked, looking at you like a lost puppy. Of course he would do that, even if it wasn't intentional. "In a fucking heartbeat, yes".
- I would love if you stayed. I told you before, I would always help you get through all this. - You smiled at him, giving him the comfort he needed. You were always there for him, you made him make friends with people you trusted and know would never hurt him. You made him realize real world isn't so bad, even though you prepared him to the madness and evilness that could happen along the way.
- I just don't know if I would be good enough for you. I wasn't good enough for Barbie, she didn't care about me like I cared about her. And now I understand what a feeling is, because when she turned me down I felt sad. I wrote her a song, talked about how she only saw me as a friend.
His words sounded really hurt, and you weren't sure it was a good option to make him stay and he clearly wasn't over her. It was all fucked up for you at that moment, but you just wanted to live the present, the future can wait.
- Hey, I'm not sure I told you before, but you're enough okay? You're something any woman, or even a doll, would love to have as company. If she didn't see you as a boyfriend that's too bad for her, she's losing one of the best things in that world. - You gave him a genuine hug and he tightened his grip around you. Ken let out a sigh and you realized he was definitely having his feelings all over the place and it wasn't something new, he just couldn't see through it.
- If I stay, can we make this thing work? I wanna become better. - The blond man asked in a muffled way as his face was still resting on your shoulder. - I wanna be Kenough for you.
You couldn't resist but to smile and laugh a little at the sweet pun he made. After a few seconds hugging him, you bit your lip and agreed with him. He gave you another hug, this time he made sure he wouldn't let go of you so soon and you could hear Ken say "thank you". You have no idea what's the next step as you were still lost in everything that happened in such short time. He would never hurt you, and you knew you would never hurt him either. He was willing to give a new life a chance, and you made sure you'd be there with him. Maybe you could make this work, maybe you could live in your own "Barbieland".
With you, everything's okay (USWNT x ADHD Reader)
This is part 3 of the ADHD reader series. It's kinda long, but hope you enjoy!
Part one
Part two
Words: 4.6K
Due to the Adderall shortage I didn't have much of my medication, which was not great. I was supposed to get a refill a couple of days ago, but I wasn't able to yet. It could be a few days, weeks or months until I got more. Given what's been on the news, it was something I had anticipated so I had a few days worth for when I really needed it. I had a doctors appointment next week to try figure out a different medication, but I was almost tempted to just not do it. When I first got medication for my ADHD it was a long process of dose adjustments, and dealing with side effects. It was mentally and physically draining. It was something I didn't really want to go through again. The headaches and sleepless nights when I didn't take it were bad enough. Though I didn't know how I would cope long term without it.
We had just started another month long camp which made this whole thing just a bit more difficult. Ally wasn't with me and I wasn't sure if or when she would be able to visit. For now I was trying to distract myself. I had spent hours so far scouring the internet and going from jeweler to jeweler with Ali trying to find the perfect ring for Ally. None of them were good enough or matched who Ally was. She didn't like fancy rings with big stones or really any stones. She preferred more plain, flush bands with maybe a tiny stone. Ally deserved more than a plain band though. I just had to find the perfect one.
For the third or maybe fourth time I had dragged Ali out shopping with me. It had probably been hours and I still hadn't found anything that was right. I was starting to get frustrated when Ali literally dragged me away from the mall to the park across the road.
"You need to take a break."
"But-"
"No, you're getting frustrated and irritable so we're taking a break."
My eyes started to water as I hid my face in my hands, "I just want to find the ring she deserves Ali."
Ali sat down beside me, pulling me into her side, "I know and we will. It'll just take some time, it's only been a few weeks since you got engaged. Have you looked into custom design rings?"
I had gotten Ally a cheap ring in the mean time, but I hated that she had to wait for a proper one. "I didn't even think of that."
We went back to the hotel after getting lunch. Since Ali mentioned it, I was itching to look into designer rings. I had briefly on my phone, but Ali quickly stopped me so I would actually eat. It was a free day so I locked myself in my room quickly going down the rabbit hole of custom rings. I spent hours comparing different companies and small businesses, calling or emailing them to figure out more around pricing and what type of designs they could do. I ended up finding a small business that could get it done in about 2-3 weeks once the design was decided on.
The design was the next thing I got lost in. I wanted to get it done as soon as possible so Ally could finally get the ring to go with the proposal. There were a couple of ideas that I was playing around with, but it was hard to choose just one. I don't know how long it had been when my phone rang breaking me out of my fixation. Of course it was a facetime from Ally, her ringtone always brought me back to reality.
Hey baby
Hi
What's got you so distracted that you didn't even look at me? I miss my beautiful smile
I laughed, quickly glancing at her, involuntary smile stretching across my face,Nothing, sorry
Right, I'll pretend I believe you. Did you eat?
It's not dinner yet
Baby, it's 9pm where you are.
No it's no- Oh shit, I got distracted
Ally giggled, the sound making my heart skip a beat. I wished she was here. I figured, Ali is going to bring you something since I know you won't leave whatever it is you're doing.
Thank you Al. Can I ask you something?
Anything
If you had to pick one thing from our relationship, date, holiday, whatever really, what's your favourite thing?
That's a hard one. Do you remember our snowboarding trip?
Our first trip together was a snow boarding trip. We hadn't been together very long and we ended up getting snowed in with no power for 2 nights. All we could do was read, cuddle, play board games, talk and try to keep the fire going. Ally and I had connected from the start, but that trip was a sort of turning point in our relationship. We got to know each other on a deeper level, telling each other all the intimate and deep parts of ourselves. That was when I told her about my adhd, my family, how they acted and how I felt growing up.
It was the first time I ever cried in front of her. There had been a sense of shame wash over me. I wasn't one to cry in front of people, it had been ingrained in me since I was young. Ally had just held me tightly, whispering reassurances then making me laugh harder then I had in a long time. She had never judged me about anything. Sure, occasionally she would tell me I was being stupid, but she always had my back.
Where's that head of yours baby?
Sorry, I was just thinking back to that trip. It was a disaster, but I loved that trip.
Me too. I think that's my favourite
There was a knock on the door before I could reply. My stomach growled when I saw the food Ali was holding. I hadn't realised how hungry I actually was. In all honesty, I probably wouldn't have eaten if Ali hadn't shown up with food,  "Thank you Ali."
"You're welcome. I'm just glad someone could get through to you. We've all been texting and calling you, even knocked on the door. We figured you were asleep or completely zoned out."
"You got Ally to call me?"
"She was already going to. I just asked if she had heard from you. I didn't want to wake you up if you were asleep, I know the last couple of days have been hard."
"I appreciate that. I got stuck into that thing we were talking about. I'll show you later."
Ally and I continued to talk while I kept working on the design and she started to fall asleep. I stayed on the phone with her even after she fell asleep. We had always slept on facetime together when we were apart. It made us feel closer when we couldn't be.
By time 4am rolled around I had finally finished the design idea. I had done a rough sketch, but also described my idea so the person could adjust if needed to what they could do. My design idea was mountains that wrapped around the entire band. A textured sky to resemble a snowy day with a small set diamond to look like the moon and hopefully someway to make the mountains look like it was covered in snow. I didn't know if it was completely possible, but even something remotely like that would be okay. I quickly sent it off before I could overthink and change my mind. I was very glad that we had another day off tomorrow.
---
"Ally!" I ran, jumping in her arms and hugging her tightly. "What are you doing here?"
"Thought I would surprise you again."
"Not that I don't love that you're here, but aren't you busy at work?"
"I am, but I can work remotely now."
"You can? Wait, you got the promotion?" Ally nodded, huge smile on her face as I picked her up and spun her around, kissing her hard. "Oh my god, this is amazing. You are amazing. I am so fucking proud of you Ally."
The girls wandered into the lobby, greeting Ally with quick hugs, "Guys! Ally got the promotion!"
Some of the girls practically jumped on Ally telling her how proud they were. They had even dragged her out for dinner that night saying that we had to celebrate her achievement. Some even going as far as doing speeches. I loved how much they adored Ally, how they had welcomed her into the team without hesitation.
We were lying in bed that night, wrapped up in each other. I brushed a piece of hair out of her face before kissing her softly, "I really am so proud of you Ally. You're amazing. You've worked so hard for this, you deserve this."
"Thank you Y/n. I couldn't have done it without your love and constant support even if my job bores you."
"Yeah well, for you I will go through all the boring shit in life a million times over." I kissed her softly before sighing, "I'm sorry Al."
Ally's forehead creased as her eyebrows drew together, "What are you apologising for?"
"I'm sorry that it's been weeks since I proposed and I haven't gotten you a proper ring yet. You deserve the perfect ring and I'm sorry you don't have it yet."
She smiled softly, cupping my cheek and making me look at her, "Do you remember what I said when you asked me to marry you?" I shook my head. All I remembered was her saying yes and being very excited. "I told you that I don't care about a ring and I meant it. If this was the only ring you got me, I wouldn't care. All I care about is being with you okay?"
"I love you Ally so fucking much. I just- Your ring is on the way, I just don't know when it'll get here."
"It's okay, I already know I'll love it."
---
Arms wrapped around me from behind, kisses being placed along my jaw. I turned my head, connecting our lips in a long kiss as I pulled her round to my lap. Ally squealed against my lips, giving me the opportunity to slip my tongue into her mouth. A breathy moan slipped from Ally as our tongues met. After a couple of seconds, Ally's fingers dug into my shirt as she pushed me away, "We're in the meal room."
"That can be changed besides no one else is here."
"I have a meeting in half an hour so stop being a horndog and show me what had you so focused."
"You can't blame me, you know what your work clothes do to me."
I had been looking at different wedding themes on Pinterest, but I was struggling to find ones that might actually suit Ally and I. We were very simple people, we didn't need anything fancy to be happy. We weren't traditional either. It was something we used to make jokes about, how we would go the complete opposite way, have some random colour instead of white, casual clothes and a barbeque. Just one big party. I didn't know what we were actually going to do. When we talked about it, it was just an idea, far off in the future. Now it was a reality and I was so excited to marry Ally. I knew we actually had to talk about when we wanted to do it, but I couldn't wait to marry her.
I turned my computer so Ally could see, "Anyway, I'm looking at wedding ideas. We should talk about when we want to do it, soon, sooner, soonish, far away, somewhere in the middle. I mean, I'm really fucking excited to marry you, but if you wan-"
"Okay baby, take a breath. You just named three times that are pretty much the same and aren't actually times."
"Sorry, I'm just excited. You know I never thought I would want to get married, let alone be this excited about it."
Ally wrapped her arms around me, kissing my temple, "I know Y/n/n. Don't apologise for being excited, I never meant to make it sound like a bad thing. Trust me, I can't wait to marry you and I love that you are excited to marry me, I would be kind of mad if you weren't."
I giggled, nuzzling my nose against her neck, "So what do you think?"
"Well, I think the sooner the better."
"Exactly what I was thinking. The more I look, the more I'm convinced on a court house wedding. It's such a process."
"A court house wedding would be a lot easier."
"No! you can't have a court house wedding," Kelley yelled making us jump and me glare at her.
---
Today was the worst day yet without my meds. I was exhausted, my head hurt, I was irritable beyond belief, every little sound or touch felt a hundred times worse and I couldn't focus on anything. There had been a very small handful of times in our relationship that I couldn't handle Ally's touch, this was one of those times. It always made me feel like shit, guilty that my own girlfriend couldn't even touch me. That didn't help me feel any better. Ally was always so understanding about it all, reassuring me that it was okay and dealing with my over touching afterwards to make up for it. Today was no different, Ally had been amazing, giving me space, reassuring me.
Ally had brought me lunch so I wouldn't have to be around the team. We were sitting on the floor in silence after eating. Normally, just being near Ally would help but everything was starting to get too overwhelming. I felt like I was about to explode, like any second I would break. And I did. I didn't mean for it to happen, things just boiled over. Ally suggested we go for a walk, she knew it would help, so did I but I couldn't bring myself to leave the room. I ended up snapping at her.
"Come on Y/n/n, you know it'll help."
"Just give it a rest! I don't need you pestering me, I'm not a child, I'm an adult, I can handle this myself. Just back off."
Ally just looked at me for a second before getting up and walking out. I buried my hands in my hair, pulling slightly. Maybe it wasn't the most healthy thing, but it helped ground me. Well normally it would. It helped enough to snap me out of it and realised I fucked up, "Fuck."
Tears fell before I could stop them as I curled up in a ball and cried. I had never snapped at Ally like that before. Sure we had fights occasionally, but there was never yelling. I cried and sobbed, letting everything from the last week or so out. Being off my meds was exhausting, physically but mostly mentally. My mind was almost constantly a mess. It took me back to how I felt growing up. Like I was annoying, a burden, stupid. That the people around me only put up with me because they had to. Ally included.
Once the tears finally stopped, I just lay there staring at the celling. It's like I was stuck there, I knew I had to go find Ally, but I couldn't move. The door opened then I felt someone sit down next to me. I knew it wasn't Ally, she always wore a perfume that I would recoganise instantly.
"What's going on Y/n/n?" Christens soft voice filled the silence.
"It's too much. I-I don't know if I can handle this. I'm just a burden to everyone around me. I fucked up, Ally hates me. It's just too much Chris."
"Y/n Y/l/n you are not a burden. I know things are hard without your medication, but that does not mean you are a burden. We love you, we are here for you okay? I know it's hard, I know it feels overwhelming, but we've got you. We've always got you Y/n. Ally could never hate you, she loves you. Did something happen with her?"
"I fucked up. I snapped at her when she was just trying to help. I've never done anything like that before. I fucked up Chris," My voice cracked, tears somehow welling up again.
Christen pulled me into her. I didn't fight it, instead gripping her shirt tightly as sobbed wracked through me again. She rubbed my back, whispering quiet reassurances. Eventually Christen moved, being replaced by someone else who held me tight, hand slipping under my shirt and drawing patterns along my skin. Perfume overtook my senses, that sweet perfume I knew so well. I sobbed harder, gripping her shirt as if my life depended on it. In a way it did. I couldn't imagine my life without Ally in it. She understood me in a way no one else did, she knew how to calm me down, how to support me, how to make me laugh. Most importantly she loved me despite my flaws.
"I'm sorry Ally, I'm so sorry. Please forgive me, I'm so-"
"Shhh, it's okay, I've got you baby, I've got you."
It took a while, but eventually the tears stopped. I sat up, moving away from Ally to sit against the bed. I felt myself go numb. Over the years, it had become my way to protect my self when things, especially emotions got too much. It hadn't happened in a while. Things were never too much when Ally was around, it was manageable. Right now I didn't know where we stood and I was scared.
I felt two warm hands cup my cheeks and soft lips press against my forehead, "Don't do that. Don't blank out on me. Come back to me."
"W-what are you doing here?"
"Chris texted, she was worried about you, said you needed me."
"You came even after I said what I did."
Ally laced her fingers with mine, "Of course I did. While I didn't appreciate what happened, I know you didn't mean it. Besides, you needed me. I will always be there for you when you need me."
"I'm sorry for snapping at you, I was just so overwhelmed. I don't know if I can do this Al. It's just so much."
She pulled me up, wrapping me tightly in her arms then guiding me so we were cuddled in bed, "I know it's hard baby, I know it's frustrating, but we've got this. I'm right here by your side every step of the way, I'm not going anywhere."
"We're okay?"
"We're okay baby. You owe me a massage though, when you're feeling better to make up for this."
I chuckled, cuddling into her side, my eyes getting heavy, "Deal. I love you Al."
"I love you Y/n. Try and get some sleep. I'm finished work for the day. Chris is going to bring dinner for us a bit later."
---
The ring had just arrived at the hotel and I was scared to open it. I ran straight up to Ali, pulling her away much to the confusion of Ally and everyone else. I shoved the package at her, making her stumble back a bit.
"Calm down a bit Y/n/n. What is it?"
"The ring. Can you open it? I'm kinda scared."
Ali carefully opened the package then the box. I was way more nervous than I expected to be. I had spent so long trying to find the perfect ring, I guess I was worried this wouldn't be it, that it wasn't anything close to what I was hoping for.
"This is beautiful Y/n. It's perfect."
I slowly took the box from Ali, freezing when I saw it. It was exactly what I had envisioned. Seeing the ring felt like a weight had been lifted. After spending so much time searching, I finally had the ring Ally deserved. Thoughts of her not liking it tried to creep in, but I managed to push them away. I knew Ally would like it. "It's exactly what I wanted. It came out way better than I expected."
"So are you just going to give it to her? Or do another proposal?"
"I'm not sure. I was kind of thinking about proposing again just for the fun of it. The original proposal wasn't that special."
"I think you'll find to Ally it was. Even if it wasn't extravagant, it was just the two of you. Personal and intimate."
"Probably. Let's be honest, I just want to spoil her. Can you hold onto this for me? I'm terrified of losing it."
Ali wrapped her arm around me, trying not to laugh, "Of course I will. Let me know if you need help planning it. Let's get back before they start to question it."
Ally was going to say yes. Knowing that let the excitement bubble up instead of the nerves. I was incredibly excited to propose to her, the plan was already coming together in my mind. I didn't want to wait, all going well it was going to happen tonight.
Once we got back, I beelined to Ally, "I have two questions. First, will you go on a date with me tonight? Second, do you want to go make out?"
"Yes and definitely yes."
---
Since we started dating, picnics were a big part of our relationship. We both had jobs that meant we dealt with a lot of people. Picnics were the way we escaped reality and people without being inside or around our flat mates at the time. I figured there was no better place to propose then on a picnic.
Because our date was last minute and we had practice today, I hadn't had enough time to set up the picnic. Ali had agreed to set up the picnic while I took Ally bowling. She loved bowling and it gave time to set everything up. Ally had won by a lot which was not a surprise, I sucked at bowling. Of course she had gloated about it, but with the proud smile she wore, I couldn't even be annoyed.
Before we left, I had texted Ali to make sure everything was set up so we didn't get there too early. I was driving when the reply came in. Ally went to check like normal, but I quickly stopped her, much to her confusion.
"You can't check that one, it'll ruin the surprise." I pulled over checking the message, making sure to hide it from Ally. Thankfully she didn't question it.
Ali: Food took longer then planned, just picked it up, need 10 minutes to finish everything. Also found the perfect place to film it.
Ally was wearing a grey sweater, white blouse underneath with the collar showing and black jeans. I don't know what it was, but I found her incredibly attractive when she wore stuff like that. It was mostly for work which is why I got kicked out when she was working. I couldn't keep my hands to myself. "So we need to kill 10 minutes. You look incredibly beautiful so lets make out."
"Yeah okay."
Ali had set up a blanket on the beach with candles, rose petals and a small speaker for music. Instead of doing the classic picnic foods, I got Ali to pick up some Thai food because it was Ally's favourite and another one of our traditions.
I watched Ally's eyes light up as we approached the picnic, "Baby, this is beautiful. How did you set this up?"
"I may have gotten Ali to help set it up. You like it?"
"You don't even have to ask, I love everything you do. This is perfect baby. Is that Thai? I'm starving."
I had planned to do the proposal first for 3 reasons. I was terrified of losing the ring, it was likely I would get more nervous as time went on and Ali was waiting to film it. "It is, you need to wait a minute before we eat."
I found the ring before taking Ally's hand, "Growing up I never thought I would find someone who loved me so unconditionally, who loved me as I was. Who would stick by me and support me through everything. But I did. I found you and I never want to lose you. I want you, no I need you by my side for the rest of my life. I love you Ally, more than you will ever know. I know you've already said yes, but I wanted to do this properly." I sunk down on one knee, opening the box, "Will you marry me Ally?"
"Yes, a million times yes." I easily slipped the ring onto her finger watching her eyes widen as she looked at the ring closer. "Holy shit Y/n, this is amazing. Where did you find it?"
"I designed it. It's based on the snowboarding trip."
"Just when I thought I couldn't love you more, you prove me wrong. You are amazing baby. Words can't describe how much I love this. I want this to be my wedding ring as well. It's too perfect to just be an engagement ring. Is that allowed?"
"We can do whatever we want. Ali filmed that by the way, I wanted it for our memories."
---
Ally and I were looking at wedding ideas together for the first time. At first I was slightly worried that we weren't going to be on the same page, that it might cause fights. I had seen it happen to couples before. I quickly realised that it was a pointless worry, we were on the same page about everything so far. We wanted simple, non-traditional.
We had started looking at things we would need for the wedding, such as the venue and catering. Everything we had looked at so far was expensive, which I guess wasn't that much of a surprise, everyone always says weddings are expensive.
I sighed, pushing the laptop away and turning to Ally, "Why are weddings so expensive? Like I know we can afford it, but it just seems like a waste."
"I know, it's just one day, we could use that money towards our honeymoon or a house."
I straddled Ally, hiding my face against her shoulder. As much as I loved planning things, without my meds, even that was slightly overwhelming after a bit of time. There were so many options and things to consider, "We could do a backyard wedding. Ali and Ash might let us use their place if we asked nice enough."
"Of course we would." I jumped, turning around to find them both standing there.
"I swear the word wedding is like a magnet for all of you. Every time it's mentioned, someone shows up."
"Well you guys keep talking about it in places where there's a high likely hood of someone being around. Anyway, we would love to have your wedding at our place if that's what you wanted."
Reluctantly, I climbed off Ally, moving to stand by Ali and Ash, "You would really do that for us?"
Ali smiled softly, pulling me in for a hug, "Of course we will kiddo. You're family. You're family too Ally."
I noticed Ally trying to hide her smile. No matter how much they showed they loved her or treated her like part of the team, I still got the same warm, almost ecstatic feeling. To me the team was family. The fact that they saw Ally as family was really important to me. "We're not planning anything over the top or even overly traditional, just simple with friends and family."
"Are your parents going to be there?" Ashlyn tried to hide the annoyance in her voice when mentioning my parents, but it didn't work. I wasn't surprised by it, when they found out what it was like for me growing up, they were pissed.
I had opened up to them about a lot of things, especially Ali, but besides vague information about how they treated me, my parents never really came up. "No, I um cut them off about 3 years ago. They were just destroying my mental health. Ally's parents will be there though, they pretty much took me in."
"They like you more than me sometimes."
"Well we can't wait to meet them."
Yuki - Daily Life Rabbit chat part 5 - Holiday Market
Tumblr media
PART 1 - PART 2 - PART 3 - PART 4 - PART 5
Please note that I am not a professional translator and I'm only doing this to share the side materials to those who cannot access them, if you notice any mistakes please let me know nicely. Enjoy!
Takanashi Tsumugi: Yuki-san, thank you for your hard work.
Takanashi Tsumugi: We'll be appearing together on a music program next week! Everyone is already looking forward to working with Re:vale-san!
Yuki: Good work, I got a call from Okarin a while ago. Looking forward to it as well
Takanashi Tsumugi:
Tumblr media
Yuki: I was actually thinking of rabbichatting with Maneko-chan
Takanashi Tsumugi: With me?
Yuki: Yeah, we’re at the roadside station you recommended the other day.
Yuki: Thanks to you we’re having a great time
Takanashi Tsumugi: Wah! So it’s your day off today! I'm glad you're enjoying yourselves.
Takanashi Tsumugi: I'm sorry for bothering you on your day off...!
Yuki: Don't worry about it
Yuki: I actually have some free time right now, so keep me company for a bit
Takanashi Tsumugi: Aren't you with Momo-san?
Yuki: He's trying his hand at the vegetable-packing activity, so he’s waiting in line to give it a try
Yuki: I think he's more into veggies than I am
Takanashi Tsumugi:
Tumblr media
CHOICE:
1) Don't you want to try the challenge?
Yuki: I'm just watching. Tried it once, couldn't pack much at all, and ended up losing money. So I've been appointed as Momo's cheerleading squad ever since
2) Is Momo-san good at the packing challenge?
Yuki: Like a pro. Even when we were struggling, he used to join housewives at the supermarket and work his hardest. Momo brought back the loot with a perfectly packed bag, looking absolutely cool
3) What are you planning to do after this?
Yuki: I'll watch Momo eat a parfait. We were talking about coming back later for dessert after lunch, but my stomach's still full.
Yuki: Momo’s working his hardest to stuff the bags alongside the housewives
Yuki: Though I'm a bit worried about the carrots
Takanashi Tsumugi: I know what you mean… I tend to pack the same vegetables instead of going with a variety since it’s easier…!
Yuki: Maneko-chan, do you have experience with this?
Takanashi Tsumugi: Yes I do! There are packing challenges at the local supermarket sometimes, so I give it my best whenever they happen!
Takanashi Tsumugi:
Tumblr media
Yuki: Impressive
Takanashi Tsumugi: Sometimes I end up with nothing but carrots or sweet potatoes though, so I stick to the same vegetable menu for a while after that...
Yuki: What kind of menu do you go for?
Yuki: I might pickle some carrots tomorrow so I'm looking for some inspiration
Takanashi Tsumugi: I finely chop and add a lot of them to soup, or grate them and arrange them in different ways like a salad!
Yuki: A salad sounds nice. You can sandwich it in bread so you won’t get tired of it
Yuki: Back when Momo brought back a ton of carrots from a packing challenge, we used to make curry or stew for days
Takanashi Tsumugi: Momo-san was in charge of packing them and you were in charge of the cooking!
Yuki: That’s right
Yuki: We were broke, so we only had curry roux, and I remember having curry with nothing but carrots for three days straight.
Takanashi Tsumugi:
Tumblr media
Yuki: I thought my body might turn into curry on the third day
Yuki: Momo said everything tasted delicious, though
Takanashi Tsumugi: I'm sure it’s thanks to the love you put into it...!
Yuki: That's true
Yuki: That’s always been my secret ingredient
Takanashi Tsumugi:
Tumblr media
Yuki: I think I'll stop Momo soon.
Yuki: He's working hard to pack those carrots, but his bag looks like it's about to rip and burst.
Takanashi Tsumugi: Yes! I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
Yuki: Mhm. Thanks for keeping my company
Yuki: I'll do my best to make those flower crowns and send you pictures of my cute Momo
Takanashi Tsumugi: Looking forward to it...!
vamp ghost brainrot do you see my vision
Tumblr media
DO YOU SEE MY VISION?!?!?!?!?!
ok this is v random but apparently im on a creative spree so lets enjoy it while it lastssss
context: the idea came from when i noticed ghost had lil fangs on his mask and and and
reader is tf141's medic/nurse idk how you call it but you get it also shoutout to @unabashedcroissanttreefan (PHEROMONE IS BACKK) and @cluelylikesporn mwah
also reader is not white AND a vampire. boom. not black either but i like the concept of poc/mixed vampires (and poc vampires would look so cool) (i am mixed and id look so cool as an autistic soon-to-be-adult teen vampire and you cant tell me otherwise.)
wc: 1049
also trigger warning dislocation and blood (duh there's vampirism in this fic what did you expect /lh)
also maybe ooc ghost idrk
pt 2 in the making!
Tumblr media
"okay, lets see... who do we have next.." you said as your checked your medical files. "lieutenant riley?" (you raise an eyebrow) "strange. he never came before" you thought out loud, but you shrugged it off. "you can come in!"
"hello, y/n" ghost greeted you politely as he sat in front of you. "i hope my team hasn't been of too much trouble"
"don't worry about them!" you smile softly, "lets talk about you, for once! what brings you there? you usually never come to check ups, which i have to say isnt very professional!!" you scold him lightly, "but im glad you seem safe and well!"
ghost chuckled softly before replying: " i came here because i have been suffering from awful migraines, and i have no idea where they can possibly come from, and so i wanted to ask you if you could check? and maybe give me a stronger dose of painkillers so that i won't need to bother you every week? also, i noticed i have been having more trouble falling asleep, it's as if i found myself more... active in the nighttime, i would say?"
"mhm.. this sure is strange, but dont worry!" you reply with an assured smile. "do you have some spare time so i can do your checkup now, or do you wish to book another appointment?"
"i would like to do it now, if you don't mind"
"okay, no problem!" you smile as you put on a surgery mask, "lay down on this chair and lift up your mask just above your mouth, please! ill start off with examinating your teeth."
ghost did as you asked him to, and you started your inspection; what you saw surely was weird.
"this is strange..." you muttered to yourself, "can you please bite into this?" you asked him as you handed him a plaster mold. "it looks like your fangs... have overgrown."
"what??" ghost asked, confused. "with all due respect, you must be kidding me."
"im not" you reply, showing him the mold he bit in. "see? its like, the bite mark is... sharper than a usual one would be"
"and... do you happen to have a reason to that?" ghost starts to panic, "or even a remedy?"
"i think... i might have an idea, but don't freak out, okay?" (he nods unsurely) "you might want to sit down for this one. okay so... there have been rumors - and i insist on the word 'rumor' - of a disease that turns people into vampires, and-"
"are you telling me i'm one of those freaks?!?" ghost hurried, panicked.
"that's... insensitive to us.." you mutter to yourself, "but nevermind. no, there is no cure, you just learn to live with it.
"thats..." he thought out loud, "wait did you say us? are you a vampire too?"
"duh, just because im not white doesn't mean i cant be a vampire thats- very cliché." you reply, slightly offended. "but yes, i am."
"but- how do you even sleep at night? how do you even feed yourself ? and-" ghost's mind raced with questions.
"let me guess, you're assuming all vampires drink blood to survive, aren't you?" (he nods, slightly ashamed, but you smiled, amused at his panic) "don't worry, we aren't all like that. i'd be delighted to teach you there are a whole lot of different types of vampires! for example, i am an empathic one! which means i tend to be more well... empathic."
"and how does one know what type of vampire one is?" ghost asked, seeming childhishly interested to the point it almost looked endearing.
"thats exactly what im coming to!" you reply with a soft smile, before coming back a few moments later with a little pouch of blood. "what does this make you feel?"
"this looks delicious" he replies as his eyes lit up, "can i have a taste?"
"well then," you chuckled, "it's all settled! you're a blood drinker vampire!"
"oh." the worries then came back in his voice, "does that mean i have to..." (he gulps) "kill people to drink their blood?"
"well, technically speaking, if we were in a typical eldritch story, you would have to. but, hopefully for the writer we're not, and its a good thing im a medic, so i have plenty of those little pouches!"
ghost sighed in relief, but then panic peaked again.
"do you think we should tell others? like, price and soap?" ghost asked worried.
"no. not for now, at least." you thought for a moment, and added: "but, one thing is sure, if we dont want anybody to find out you have to do whatever it takes to not get deployed,or else... "
"we're fucked, balls deep." ghost completed your sentence. "but how? price won't allow me to stay at the base unless i get injured."
"that's exactly my point!" you say as your eyes glimmer mischievously, "but im not sure you will like the idea.."
"whatever it takes for people not to notice.." he sighs.
"good!" you reply with a smile, "please lay down on this chair,just so youre warned its gonna be a little... painful."
"what the fuck- you sprained my fucking ankle???" ghost hurried, grumbling in pain.
"what?? you wanted a reason to not get deployed, didnt you? you should thank me" you chuckled as you noticed him wincing in pain. "anyway, its time for price's meeting, take those to help you walk, and you let me do the talking to price, okay?"
ghost nodded as you both headed to the briefing room, one of his arm around your shoulder to help him walk, where price and the rest of the task force were already waiting for you.
"sorry we're late, captain!" you hurried as you and ghost entered the room.
"its fine" price replied, raising an eyebrow, "what happened to you, Lieutenant?"
"we were practicing close fighting and he accidentally sprained his ankle, sir" you reply with an assured smile.
"is that so?" he asked, raising an eyebrow, "then why didnt i see both your names in the record?"
"because we forgot, and there was nobody on the wait list, sir" you reply. "but i promise it wont happen again."
"good" price sighed, "then i suppose i have no choice but to make gaz replace you, ghost."
♡Weekly Chronicles♡
Tumblr media
December 15,2023
Hey babes! This week was amazing I am so happy I have created this blog I love being a blogger. I've wanted to create one for yearssss but I never got the time to do it and didn't know what to base my blog on. I love seeing other girlies on the same journey of self-improvement<3.
♡Education♡
The semester is officially over for me on Saturday I am so excited I need this break because school in general can be so stressful and I need this time to relax and pour into myself more I'll probably be uploading here more frequently while on break.
♡Mental♡
I started antidepressants a little over a month ago and have been loving my journey on them my mind is clearer and I don't feel that little gray cloud following me anymore. I am present and not constantly worrying about others and things that I can't control. This is my first time using medication to finally have control over my mental health. Other than that my mental health has been so good. If you deal with seasonal depression you got this girl it's tough. Trust me I get it I've dealt with seasonal depression and anxiety for years and my inbox is always open for a chat but I ask before you tell me your problems ask how I'm feeling in the moment <3
♡Physical♡
I have been super consistent with my diet! Eating clean and working out every day I have been lifting 3 times a week. I didn't get to lift today because I am currently at work while typing this lol but I will make up for it by lifting tomorrow. I am currently fasting trying to make up fasts from Ramadan before Ramadan comes around again in March and I'm not going to lieeee it has been helping me look extra snatched now! Like I woke up looking in the mirror like yesss but fasting has so many benefits besides keeping you snatched it helps a lot internally as well. I recently ordered some items for my gut health journey and it's at the post office so I'm going to pick it up tomorrow super excited! This is unrelated but last night I didn't want to get out of bed to do my nightly skincare routine but I forced myself to remember my goals so I'm proud of that.
♡Hobbies♡
I have been consistent with my Italian lessons on Duolingo which I highlyyyy recommend for anyone trying to learn a new language the way its set up is perfect for me with the colors and drawing it feels like a game to me lol. I haven't been reading like I was supposed to I think I only read 2 times this week that’s super baddd I need to stay on top of it. I have been blogging consistently and I love seeing you girlies reflagging and hearting my content it means a lot and I def need to do a Q&A I’ll drop one next week for sure. I want to invest in soap making as a new hobby for me it looks like so much fun!
♡Plans For The Weekend♡
I have a trip coming up next week I'm going to Maryland for a convention with a couple of friends from the 23 to the 27. I am super excited it's going to be so much fun. So this weekend I'm getting a lot of things together. I have to look for a few of my outfits for my trip and I'm waiting for my shoes to come. Also, I have my final this Saturday and an appointment with my OBGYN ladies don’t forget to book appointments for your check-ups your inner health is super important please take care of yourselves!
Daily Check-in: October 11th, 2023 🎀
So I was wat more productive then I had thought i would be given the exhaustion I felt from jet lag. I am proud of what I got done! However, I only slept about 2 hours, and it was broken sleep at that so I am not exactly feeling top of my game at the moment. We'll see what my energy allows me to complete today.
🩷 What I Ate, Oct 11th -
Brunch/Lunch - Spaghetti with meat sauce and ground turkey, topped with grated parmesean
Dinner - Turkey & Roast Beef bagel sandwich with avocado, 1 slice muenster cheese, 1 slice cheddar cheese, and a small side of potato chips.
Snack - a half bowl of spaghetti with ground turkey and meat sauce
Extra - 4 cups of coffee, each with one sweet n low and a splash of French vanilla creamer
I actually cooked which is odd for me as I typically don't have energy. My goal for today is to cook a batch of ground beef for taco bowls!
🩷 Personal Achivements, Oct 11th -
Washed bed sheets + pillowcases
Did the dishes
Maintained Duolingo streak (1 lesson)
Maintained Busuu streak (3 lessons)
Video called with my boyfriend twice
Made a shopping list for langaueh tracker/bullet journal (purchased at 1am because Amazon prime big deals were ending and I wanted to save some money)
Made a schedule/routine for working out next week
Cooked myself a real meal
Swept kitchen and disinfected/wiped down counters in kitchen
showered + morning skincare
🩷 Academic Achievements, Oct 11th -
Completed and submitted lifecycle nutrition chart
submitted and passed lab 7 anatomy pre lab
submitted discussion post + replies for nutr discussion 3
I feel quite proud of yesterday! Let's hope today I can tackle some more stuff on my todo list!
🩷 Personal ToDo, Oct 12th -
cook ground beef for taco bowls (leftovers!!)
wash dirty laundry
put away all clean laundry
therapy appointment
video call boyfriend
morning + night skincare
morning + night journal (?)
do 2 duolingo lessons
do 2 busuu lessons
complete/continue genki I lesson one
type up draft for upcoming blog post(s?)
🩷 Academic ToDo, Oct 12th -
Chapter 9 Notes Psyc
Quiz Chapter 9 Psyc
Culinary chapter 10 Quiz
Consumer Debt Inventiry assignment
Using Credit personal finance assignment
I've put a lot on my to-do list for today, but if I can even get a third of each list done, I will still be very proud of myself. Productivity should not come at the cost of my own well-being. Maybe I'll take a nap today? My boyfriend thinks it's a good idea, but I'm not a big fan of naps regardless of the situation. We shall see.
I took complete advantage of the prime big deals on Amazon and ordered some new workout clothes, some hair accessories, a set of silk pillowcases, and supplies for my bullet journal language tracker/planner. I even bought this cute little journal that's made specifically for fitness and health tracking, as a little side thing of mine to help keep me going! It comes with stickers and already set up pages, so hopefully, it proves to be useful!
I may or may not have made an Ulta order for some makeup using my afterpay account as well, because as it gets colder outside I'm starting to want to wear makeup for fun again. I'm not typically drawn to full beat looks but in the winter I love going all out with my makeup looks, whether I'm doing a more grunge goth emo look or a soft coquette girly look and everything in between. I love makeup as a form of self expression!
May or may not buy some more skincare as well, I'm just trying to decrease the amount of stuff in my skincare cart on the shopping app but it's so hard choosing what to get now and what to wait on!! I'm super indecisive too so that intensified the struggle.
Thats all for today! I'll make sure to update you lovelies tonight/tomorrow!
til next time, lovelies 🩷
ZMAN CHEIRUSEINU aka "I'M the terrible communicator!?!?!?!!"
Dear Future Husband,
I hope nobody ever quizzes me on this blog because there are so many things that I've started and stopped writing that never got posted that I literally never remember what I've actually put here...
Not that that's really fully relevant to what I was thinking about writing now, but I currently have two unfinished posts in my drafts folder (amidst 25 others that will probably never get posted) that are just a recap of this year so far.
Because I'm just a kid and life is a nightmare.
Explaining what's going on right now is kind of problematic because I haven't provided the lengthy backstory yet (which is one of the drafts I have yet to finish...)
Suffice to say, MotherLivelyHeart is being a nightmare to me again.
I think I've shared before that MLH and I share a vehicle? If not... yeah, we share a car. I'll have to look through my posts to see if I've explained that situation before, because that's one more thing to check off the "my life absolutely f*ing sucks" list.
Usually this isn't the worst thing in the world because we operate on different schedules and there isn't much crossover when it comes to who needs the car when, and when there is I usually drop her off somewhere, do what I need to do, and pick her up after.
For the record, I HATE when she offers the opposite because I have a history of being abandoned in places waiting for her to pick me up and it gives me such severe anxiety.
So last week on Sunday I asked MLH what her plans were for the next day. I asked this because I overheard a phone call she received on Friday from the dentist's office about an appointment she had on Monday at noon that she hadn't told me anything about and I knew if I was going to ever find out she was going to take the car, I would have to be the one to ask her. So I asked. And wouldn't you believe it, she had a dentist appointment on Monday at noon! Shocker.
Now, I'd been out of work since the beginning of January (again, details will hopefully be in another post) so I had a lot to take care of at work last Monday and I told her that.
We agreed she would have the car for her appointment and I would take the car to work when she got home.
Come Monday afternoon, suddenly everything has changed.
You see, her boss called in sick and she had the day off because she has a specific job that requires her to work alongside her boss and if he doesn't work, she doesn't work.
So she had the day off. Joy.
Of course, did she tell this to me directly? No.
Did she message me this information? No.
I'm just supposed to approach her and ask, "hey, did your boss call in sick and give you the day off?" I guess.
So she went to her appointment and ran some errands and called me while she was still out. Apparently some specific water bottles she can only get in like two places were available at one store about 20 minutes away from our house and she placed a pickup order so she could get them before they were sold out. The order had to be picked up between like 2:30-3:30pm and she called me at around 1:30.
Great.
She picked a pickup time that was directly during the time I was supposed to be at work.
Which she knew.
Because I told her this literally the day before.
So I told her fine. She should do the pickup order and when she got back I would take the car to work.
"Well, I also wanted to go swimming."
*Deep breath* Ok, what time is swimming?
"From 2-9pm."
At this point I didn't know how long I'd be at work because one of the things I had to take care of could be like 4-6 hours and I didn't know if there would be enough time when I was done to get home and let her get to the pool with enough time to swim before they closed.
"Ok, well why don't you go swimming, do the pickup order, and then I'll take the car to work?"
"Well, I want to come home and eat something first."
Ok. So now, what was supposed to be my time to take the car is going to be "stolen" by her coming home (15 minutes), eating something (15 minutes), going to swim (40 minutes), getting the pickup order (30 minutes), and coming back home (20 minutes).
This is TWO HOURS off of my time.
WHICH I HAD TOLD HER I NEEDED LITERALLY THE DAY BEFORE.
So she came home, ate something, and changed into her bathing suit. She left around 2pm for the pool.
I assumed at this point I'd hear from her around 3:30pm that she was around the corner.
But 3:30 came and went.
4:00pm came and went.
4:30pm came and went.
5:00pm came and BigSis messaged that she would be done at work in an hour and could either of us give her a ride home?
MOTHERF@*$%^#$ER
So it's been three hours without an update from MLH, but then she responds "I should be on my way back from the pickup order then."
EXCUSE ME!?!?!?!
She left for the pool at 2pm. THREE HOURS have gone by and she hasn't even gotten the pickup order that was supposed to be picked up between 2:30-3:30pm!?!?!?!!?!?
But she tells me that I'M a terrible communicator.
I was supposed to get the car by 1:30pm latest. It was now after 5pm and I STILL hadn't gotten to work yet.
As much as I hate when she offers to drop me off at work so she can take care of things that will take a few hours, SHE DIDN'T EVEN ASK ME THAT. She made it seem like I would have the car all afternoon to take care of what I needed to at work. And when her plans shifted, she made it seem like I'd have the car by 3:30pm latest.
And let me remind you THAT I TOLD HER THE DAY BEFORE WHAT MY SCHEDULE WAS SO THAT THIS S*** WOULDN'T HAPPEN.
But I'M the terrible communicator.
At that point I was so frickin annoyed already. MLH messaged me "should I get her or just come home" and I was so peeved I said "just get her because if you come home and I take the car I'm not picking her up."
She didn't respond to that message.
Great.
No thumbs up. No "ok." Just nothing.
Then at 6:12pm I get a message from her "car's downstairs in front."
So no message from BigSis that MLH had picked her up and they were heading home. No "we're around the corner." No nothing except over an hour later "take it."
BUT I'M THE TERRIBLE COMMUNICATOR!?
At that point it was too late for me to do some of the things I needed to take care of for work because, again, I was supposed to have been there FIVE HOURS EARLIER. And a friend messaged and asked if I could go with her to Costco, so I said to hell with it and I went to Costco with her.
While I was at Costco I messaged both MotherLivelyHeart and BigSis about what I was getting so we were all on the same page. Included in that message was eggs because, well, I was getting eggs.
I got home at like 10pm and MotherLivelyHeart and BigSis were already asleep. I made a couple of mini salami kugels with some spinach that oddly floated to the top, waited for them to cool, tried 1/4 of one before sticking them in the fridge.
Next morning I open the fridge and there's a new carton of 1.5 dozen eggs. Because apparently MLH went to the supermarket early in the morning and got eggs because "we were out."
DESPITE ME LITERALLY MESSAGING THE NIGHT BEFORE THAT I WAS BUYING EGGS AT COSTCO.
Oh, but it gets better. Because the salami kugel I had tasted the night before was missing.
BigSis was working from home so I asked her about it and she said she had no clue.
So I asked MotherLivelyHeart about it, thinking maybe it slipped out of the fridge, smashed, and she threw it out.
But no.
Guess who ate it.
Yep, the woman who has been suffering from gout and avoiding meat for the better part of a year.
The woman who saw it in the fridge and said to herself "oh, that's one of the broccoli kugels LivelyHeart made for herself for Shabbos that she said wasn't good. I guess I'll eat that for breakfast without asking her if she really doesn't want it because although she's on a weird diet right now, there's no way she's made a meal plan for herself that includes this food item she made for herself."
Because, did she message me to ask if she could have it?
Nope.
Did she knock on my door to ask if she could have it?
Nope.
Halfway through eating it she realized it was salami.
And she still finished the whole thing.
And still at NO POINT did she message me AT ALL to even tell me that she ate it.
I had to find out by inquiring OF HER.
BUT. I'M. THE. TERRIBLE. COMMUNICATOR!?!?!?!
I shouldn't be mad.
It's just food, after all, right?
Except that it's not.
It's a frickin pattern of carelessness and disregard for me as a person.
And I'm so frickin sick of it.
I'm so damn tired.
It wouldn't have killed her to ask.
It wouldn't have killed her to apologize.
And what I haven't really explained here (because again, that's in a draft post) is that I've been on an elimination diet since January 1st which has cut most things from my available food selections.
But is she on an elimination diet?
Nope.
So we have a HOUSEFUL, a PANTRYFUL, and a FRIDGEFUL of food she can eat.
And she chooses the ONE thing I made FOR ME.
Which she KNEW I made for ME.
Instead of the MYRIAD OF THINGS that she can eat that I can't.
Which means that she's not only taken a meal from me, but now I'm at a food deficit from the fridge while she lives in abundance.
BUT. I'M. THE. TERRIBLE. COMMUNICATOR.
So let's leap forward to today.
Today was Shabbos mevorchim. Pesach is in two weeks.
And MotherLivelyHeart decided we are going to change over the kitchen two weeks ahead this year.
So she scheduled her cleaning lady to come tomorrow (Sunday) to help clean the kitchen so it can be turned over.
Did she take into account that this would be motzei Shabbos and that we'd have to make Shabbos and that would involve dirty dishes and use of the stove/oven and pots and pans?
Yeah, no.
Did she take into account that the way she wants to clean the oven requires the oven to be self-cleaned before and after which takes a good several hours and creates so much smoke that we'd have to keep the windows open and also it's like 40F right now and she also wanted to go to sleep early because the cleaning lady is coming at like 8am?
Yeah, no.
BigSis went over the oven cleaning thing with her and she exclaimed "are you kidding me?! Then why am I having the cleaning lady come tomorrow?!"
BECAUSE YOU SCHEDULED HER WITHOUT CONSULTING US.
BECAUSE THERE WAS NO COMMUNICATION.
DO YOU SEE A FRICKIN THEME HERE!?!?!!?
Oh, but there's more. Because there's always more.
Thursday was another nightmare day for various reasons. One of which was that I ran errands with MotherLivelyHeart.
She scheduled an appointment for smackdab in the middle of the time I told her I'd be working.
YES. AGAIN.
And she wanted to drop me off at work and pick me up when I was done.
Well absofrickinlutelynot, thankyouverymuch.
I was supposed to work until 6pm.
I had told customers I would be available until 6pm.
Her appointment was scheduled for 6pm.
So of course "I need the car at 5:30pm."
She wanted to drive me to work earlier so that she could take the car at 5:30pm to her appointment that wouldn't be done until 7pm and then come get me an hour and a half after I was done working.
But I was supposed to trust that she wouldn't run errands or dilly dally around and that she'd actually get me at 7:30pm, which we know is never the case.
So I told her no, I'd be taking the car to work. But I would notify the customers I'd only be there until 5:30pm, at which point I'd get her and drive her to her appointment. Then while she was in her appointment I could do the Shabbos shopping, since it seemed pointless to have to wait for her to come home again before I could go out and shop.
For various reasons, we had three stores we needed to go to, one of which was about 20 minutes in the opposite direction of where her appointment was. I figured I could go there first, then on my way back to get her I could run by the other two stores, get her and then we'd go straight home.
But no.
Because it was raining and people apparently don't know how to drive in the rain. So despite me taking the highway, which should have cut like 10 minutes out of the ride each way, it took me about 30 minutes to get to that first store, which I was in for maybe 10 minutes, and as I was checking out MLH messaged "my appointment is almost over, where are you at?"
So all I had time for was turning around and going straight to get her.
Which, fine, whatever.
One of the stores we went to literally just for chicken.
And it was chicken for her because she wanted a specific type of breaded chicken for Shabbos.
So I figured I'd run into the store and grab it while she stayed in the car.
But no.
Because while I was unbuckling, she was unbuckling. Because she decided to come in.
So she went to look at side salads and I went to the chicken section where I waited but she never showed up.
Then I get a message from her.
"Where are you?"
Excuse me???? WHERE ARE YOU, WOMAN???
I told her I was at the chicken section waiting for her and she said "I already checked out. I'm going back to the car."
WE LITERALLY WENT TO THIS STORE TO BUY HER CHICKEN.
SHE CAME IN WITH ME.
PRESUMABLY TO BUY HER CHICKEN.
But she's checked out already!? WITH WHAT!?
Oh. Apparently something to eat. Because she's hangry.
Which she, OF COURSE, DID NOT TELL ME.
Fine. Whatever.
So I bought her frickin chicken.
And then on the way home she got mad at me about three driving-related things that were out of my control (like the car started making a weird noise that might be the muffler, and there was a huge pothole I couldn't avoid, and I was coming to a stop at an intersection when some lady rounded the corner quickly and we barely missed colliding...) which resulted in her yelling at me that she hates the way I'm driving.
So, yeah, that was a fun ride home.
*EYEROLL*
Anyway, on the way to her appointment she said "we never worked out a Shabbos menu."
I told her the same thing I've told her almost every week over the last three months: I'm eating differently from you guys, so you just tell me what you want and I'll grab it from the store, because I already have set aside what I'm going to eat.
And she tells me "my boss has off tomorrow, so I can cook."
Which is perfectly fine in my eyes because I'm still recovering from an injury (again, that's one of the drafted posts...) and I also had a horrendous cold for the previous two weeks so I'm still trying to get back to baseline. Any pressure off me is appreciated.
We basically worked out that for shabbos we'd do a big soup for Friday night (which I would make), then she wanted chicken (obvs) and I had bought green beans at Costco I told her she could have, and then Shabbos lunch would be fish and salady stuff.
Well, Friday rolls around.
The day already sucked because I tried adding some vegetables back into my diet during the week that are apparently problematic for my digestion. Fun.
But then MotherLivelyHeart decides to stick to her arbitrary Pesach cleaning schedule which says to clean the milchig dishes she's had piling up all week. So of course she decides to do this at like noon and doesn't finish the job and there are still milchig dishes in the sink at 3pm when I need to go in and make the soup.
Add onto that, one of my "chores" is the pareve dishes, some of which have been piling up too and also need to be done, which she feels the need to remind me of, despite her milchig dishes still filling the sink.
So I go in around 3pm and just start cooking, using the small bit of counter space that's available to me.
She decides that's the perfect time to finish the milchig dishes.
FINE. WHATEVER.
She gets them out of the way and reminds me YET AGAIN about the pareve dishes.
FINEWHATEVER.
So around 4pm I'm back in the kitchen, doing the pareve dishes, of which I only got about half done because it was causing pain and I still had to cook.
So I pivoted and did the soup.
But nothing else had been cooked yet.
So I made the green beans.
And I had to separate the soups so I could add things to theirs that I can't eat.
At this point I'm still annoyed from her the day before, my insides are so unhappy with the newly tested foods, I'm in pain from the injury, and I'm trying to cook for Shabbos.
Around 6pm I asked BigSis if she could help with the chicken. She was like "I STILL HAVE TO SHOWER!!!" As though she didn't have all day for that and somehow me needing help is my fault. She said "if you had asked me like three hours ago I could have done it."
Except that three hours ago, the milchig dishes were still filling up the sink, so.... what exactly do you expect from me!?
Sometime a little earlier when MotherLivelyHeart had been in the kitchen it was clear I wasn't doing so well and she asked what was wrong and I described the pain and she was like "I'm sorry" and then disappeared.
So then she gets a "20 minutes to candle lighting" alarm on her phone, and she's been trying to light early in zchus of the hostages and chayalim, so she calls out "20 minutes to licht benchen." Which I responded to but she didn't hear, obviously, because she yelled again "LivelyHeart, did you hear me!?"
To which I responded an annoyed "YES!!" and she was like "you don't have to talk to me that way! I clearly didn't hear you. And BigSis and I can make Shabbos on our own, you know."
Which, MYGODWOMAN. YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO.
My responsibility based on our conversation was the soup.
ZE HU.
SHE was supposed to do the chicken and the green beans and whatever else they wanted.
So now she's annoyed at me because I'm annoyed at her for not doing the thing she was supposed to do, but I'M the one in the wrong.
FINE. Whatever.
In the end I didn't do the chicken.
I literally didn't have the strength for it, let alone the energy.
Not that it was really missed at the meal, but she was a bit annoyed and gave me that same "BigSis and I can cook for Shabbos on our own, you know." To which I responded "You said you were going to cook." I literally don't even remember what her response was.
Well, fast forward through Shabbos to tonight because I asked her if she wanted the chicken for melava malka or if we should stick it in the freezer for a week since it's KFP.
She wanted it for melava malka.
Which, fine, whatever.
I told her if she could bread it, I would cook it.
She got gloves, she got bowls, she got the chicken, and she got eggs.
She did not get the other ingredients she needed for the breading. Or a plate to put it on. Or a fork.
She sat down at the table and then asked me to get the other ingredients.
Which, fine. Whatever.
I got an interesting piece of mail that I'll discuss in another post when I know more what's going on with it, but it basically called my attention to research something. So I was on my computer off to the side while she was breading the chicken.
The next thing I know, she's frying the chicken.
I went into the kitchen and asked her why she was frying it when I told her I would do it for her since cooking usually exhausts her, and she got all frustrated and exasperated at me and said something like "I DON'T HAVE ALL NIGHT TO WAIT FOR YOU."
And I was like, "what are you talking about!? I was waiting for you to finish breading it! you didn't tell me you were done!"
Which just pissed her off more.
BECAUSE. I'M. THE. TERRIBLE. COMMUNICATOR.
But this is the time of year we celebrate freedom, right?
This is the time of year we thank Hashem for rescuing us from a horrible situation.
Well, where's mine?
We're supposed to celebrate every year as though WE ALL left Mitzrayim.
As though we were ALL saved.
But I am not saved.
I have never been saved.
The stupidity I've just described above is just a piece of the insane patterning of my entire life.
I have no escape from this nonsense.
And I'm just so done with all of it.
I want it all to be over.
I want it all to go away.
Where's my freedom?
Where's my salvation?
I really have to finish those other two drafts, because this isn't even the clearest picture of what I've been dealing with since 2024 started. It's barely April and I just want this secular year to be over.
There are a couple of people who have suggested guys to me over the last several months and, although they're not really what I'm looking for, right now I just don't have the emotional energy for a new relationship. I'm just so burned out from this one that I deal with every frickin day of my stupid life, which of course I can't even tell these people.
So... dear future husband, I hope you can hang in there, because I don't know when I'll be ready for you.
But maybe by then I'll be a good communicator.
-LivelyHeart
And now for the story after the story:
So, after that disaster of a drive back from the store on Thursday night, we got home around 8:30pm and although she got something small to eat from that second supermarket I knew that MotherLivelyHeart hadn't eaten anything since lunch so when I made dinner for myself I made a second bowl for her. I brought it to her and she said "oh... you didn't have to do that." Not a lot of enthusiasm there.
She didn't eat it for about a half an hour, by which time it was probably cold, and the next thing I knew, she was in bed going to sleep without another word about how it was.
Now, I don't demand praise or feedback for anything I cook, but she usually makes a comment about whatever I make, so I found it odd that she was silent on the matter.
On Friday I went to ask her about something else and while I was talking to her I asked how her dinner was the night before and she said something along the lines of, "it was... interesting. ground chicken just doesn't cook well, it's not your fault. you prepared it well, it's just not that good. ground turkey is better."
No "thank you," no "it was sweet of you to think of me," no "I appreciate the effort especially considering that you're working through the pain right now."
Just meh.
I love when I'm appreciated.
the anomalous agate (part one) *updated
hey guys. some of you probably wanted to see "two" written there! that'll take a little more time.
for those of you who don't know what the title's about at all, this is my crossover fic for the case files of jeweler richard and sasaki to miyano. specifically, this asks the question of "what if hanzawa masato visited jewelry étranger?"
i wrote the original version of this chapter in like, four days, and this is me doing an actual editing pass. it's not required to read it, as I don't actually add any new information, but I would recommend it. this fic is also posted on ao3, so you can read the updated chapter there, as well
edit: part two | part three | part four | epilogue
without further ado, I'll leave the fic under the cut!
case 2-x: the anomalous agate (part 1)
The longer I worked for the shop, the fewer days arrived when there were no appointments scheduled. As always, Richard seemed unfazed by the lack of customers. I supposed it made sense—this was a shop that only existed on the weekends, after all. He had hired me, but had the two of us not met by chance, it was likely he wouldn’t have hired anyone at all.
Perhaps the reason my employer seemed so content was the fact that he was currently cutting into a delicate slice of tiramisu crepe cake. He ate with almost ethereal grace, and as I somehow hadn’t thought to grab a slice for myself, my mind wandered to the circumstances that had led me to the purchase.
The week before, I had been making Richard’s royal milk tea as usual—I felt somewhat confident in my skills at this point, but there really was no matching a master—and asked him if there was a reason we didn’t serve coffee to customers. It was a common feature of many cafés, after all, and though this place was no longer a café, we still offered things like tea and snacks to customers.
Richard had stared at me like he was waiting for me to figure something out on my own, and after wracking my brain for possibilities, I tried, “We have barley tea and green tea, so it can’t be because you think anything except for royal milk tea won’t do…”
I received a deep sigh for my efforts. Richard arched an eyebrow. “Do you know how much is involved in the process of making coffee?” he asked.
As the coffee I most regularly consumed came from a can, there wasn’t a single response I could give.
That night, I searched up the process of manufacturing and brewing coffee, and quickly found myself beginning to develop a headache. Not only were there many places where coffee beans were grown, the different ways in which coffee was then brewed and what it was paired with felt almost limitless. Searching for espresso machines brought prices well over 15,000 yen, and it was at that point that I began to understand what Richard had conveyed in a single sentence.
Instant coffee could be made without any sense of technique or equipment, but the kind of coffee that set one’s mind at ease was probably the kind that only a real café was capable of. Or a coffee enthusiast, and I was neither. I tried to conjure the image of being offered canned or instant coffee at Jewelry Étranger, and immediately wrinkled my nose. Coffee at a café was meant to be pleasant; I had no desire to remind myself of what it felt like to work night shift after night shift as a security guard. Any comfort the scent had brought was overwhelmed by its bitter necessity. The caffeine might have kept me awake, but it had worsened the quality of my sleep.
Still, though I had given up the idea of introducing coffee to our drink selection, I must not have completely forgotten about it, because the next time I stepped into a bakery, their offering of a tiramisu crepe cake caught my immediate attention.
I’d had tiramisu only once during a birthday in junior high. Birthdays when I was younger were a melancholy affair—they were small, intimate celebrations that reminded me of the insignificance of my life. It was the same feeling as lighting a candle in pure dark—loneliness shined more under small points of light. But my mother had always remembered to buy a cake year after year, no matter the circumstances. While she had already developed a taste for coffee, I still considered it something that was a bitter, awful drink that adults actually enjoyed. But after some firm persuasion from my mother, I reluctantly dug in.
Add enough sugar, and bitter mellows into sweet. I knew that now, but as a child I had been given an experience akin to magic. Even years after the fact, I could still recall the light and sweet taste accompanied by the delicate hints of coffee and chocolate.
Remembering it now, it was hard to explain why I hadn’t had one in such a long time, but I hadn’t developed the habit of searching out cafés, bakeries, and sweet shops until I started working at Jewelry Étranger, either. Food simply tasted better as of late.
This bakery in particular was a favorite of mine—it felt like every time I entered, there was still some sweet I had yet to try. And encounters like these, where it felt like little parts of my life were slotting together in serendipitous fashions, were becoming far more common. It was obvious in the way I’d found out about Tanimoto-san’s love for rocks and minerals, as well as her friend Shinkai-san’s dance company, or, in a more negative light, Hase-san visiting at the exact time I happened to be in the back of the shop, but when I told Richard this, he simply brushed it off.
“The more knowledge and experience you acquire, the more the world reveals itself to you,” he said. “Department stores existed before you began working here, but only once you took an interest in diamonds did you notice the kinds of jewels they sold. The girl you wish was your girlfriend had an interest in minerals long before you began to. That was not fate—it was the fact that the more you learned, the more you could find commonalities or points of connection in the world around you.” He paused. “You, in particular… I would guess that you run into so many coincidences because you’re unable to turn your back.”
He was correct. The more people that visited Richard’s store, the more that I came to knew about the world. I had liked Tanimoto-san before I had met Richard, and she had loved rocks and minerals for far longer. But because I had been able to meet with Richard—and that was an encounter that could have only been fate—I’d gained awareness of a part of the world that had always existed, just not in my eyes. The more I learned about jewels, the more I treasured various things.
So that Saturday, I entered the bakery again, bought a slice, and arrived at Jewelry Étranger with an offering.
“…I still won’t give you a raise, you know,” Richard said.
As always, he looked beautiful. I had the feeling that he’d be annoyed if I told him the purchase was due to a bottomless kind of gratitude.
“I know.” At this point, I wondered if I needed to directly tell him how he paid far more than what I earned as a security guard. But I’d already turned down a job offer to stay here, so he must have known that I felt as if the work I was doing here was infinitely more valuable.
Since we’d had this kind of exchange quite a few times before, Richard tried the tiramisu crepe cake without much fuss. It was obvious he was enjoying it—perhaps his face hadn’t cracked out into a smile or anything of the sort, but there was always a serene look on his face when he was enjoying sweets.
As he ate, a question popped to mind: “Say, Richard, have you had real tiramisu in Italy before?”
Richard paused between bites. “Do you mean to ask if I’ve had authentic tiramisu?”
“Well, you just seem as if you’ve been everywhere in the world…”
Rather than tell me if he’d spent time in Italy or not, Richard began to speak about the conflicted meaning of the word ‘authentic.’
“Tiramisu is Italian in origin, but the exact nature of how it was first produced is still up for debate. As we recognize it today, it certainly does not come in the nature of a crepe cake, but—” He paused again. “Grab yourself a fork, would you?”
I stared at him blankly as he deliberately placed his fork down on his plate. The last few bites of the tiramisu crepe cake remained untouched, and only when he tilted his head in confusion did I rush to the kitchen in realization.
When I returned, Richard continued speaking without commenting on my lack of wits. “Something being authentic indeed means it is the real thing—a genuine article. Authenticity is also related to truth—in art, the style of realism is grounded in an attempt to depict life authentically, without alterations or embellishments. For gemstones this is a fairly simple thing to classify—jewels are mined from specific places, so we designate that which is naturally-occurring as authentic. This runs in opposition as to imitation jewels, which are made from a different material, and approximate the look of a jewel without matching its innate qualities. The question of authenticity also is relevant when looking at heat treatment—pigeon blood rubies that haven’t undergone heat treatment are more valuable, because they have acquired the color naturally, yes?”
I nodded in agreement, reminded of Tanimoto-san’s opinion on heat treatment. She probably prized the authenticity of a gem—the one-of-a-kind nature each jewel had. I understood her feelings, but I also thought there was some kind of wonder in the process of polishing and cutting and heat treatment—each step gave a jewel a special kind of shine. But beauty was the kind of thing where opinions differed often.
I couldn’t imagine anyone disagreeing about Richard’s beauty. “You’ve forgotten to actually put your fork to use,” he said, and I startled out of my daze to hurriedly take a bite.
As expected, the tiramisu crepe cake was both light and sweet. The texture of crepes was certainly different from what I’d eaten as a child, but both carried that sense of pure delicacy—each layer felt like cotton-candied air. Though it didn’t smell like coffee, there was indeed the warm, rich undertone of what I’d come to understand as coffee’s flavor. If I could spend a birthday just like this… it would be a treasure of a memory.
Richard’s lips curled. “How is it?”
I made sure to properly swallow before I replied. “It’s delicious,” I marveled. “I don’t know why I’d forgotten the taste.”
“When you make rice at home, would you consider that rice real or authentic?” Richard asked. When I nodded, still chewing on my final bite of cake, he then asked, “Why?”
Maybe I would buy tiramisu on the way home. Or gift some to Hiromi—I could only assume that my birthday all those years ago was the last time she’d had tiramisu, too. “Well, because it’s rice,” I said. “I bought the rice grains, didn’t I? They were grown naturally. And then I cooked them.”
“If you acquired the exact ingredients required for tiramisu, and followed the same exact process as the original—though there are debates at to what the original is—would you still say that was authentic?”
I frowned. “I… suppose I would? Since everything is exact.” Was there a loophole I was missing?
“Perhaps,” Richard said. “Because it is hard to pinpoint its specific origins, what tiramisu qualifies as authentic can be hard to judge. Though the base components and methods are the same, the exact specifics differ—some may consider any tiramisu that follows the general process to be authentic, while others may not. In the case of champagne, unless what you think of champagne is made in the Champagne region of France, it cannot legally be called by that name. Even if the sparkling wine that is created is similar in taste, or uses the same process and ingredients, if the grapes are not sourced from that region, it will not be champagne.”
“Even though it’s possible to make an equivalent product?”
“You could, indeed, make a very close match,” Richard said. “But it would legally not be authentic. Can you think of a reason why someone might want a name of a food protected?”
When phrased like that, the answer arrived to me immediately. “Brand protection,” I said. “Because the idea of champagne is precious, if other winemakers started selling something labelled as champagne, it would lose some of its prestige. By controlling what can be called champagne, they retain control over the production and image of champagne.”
“Good for you,” Richard said, and I bit down a smile. “Authenticity holds a different value for many people and many things. All that aside… this tiramisu crepe cake remains delicious.”
“It is,” I agreed, and then began to make him tea.
The rest of the day passed by in peace. Richard read from his collection of books, blond hair glittering under the sharp sun. I busied myself by cleaning the kitchen and running out to complete a few errands. The movement was helpful; the chill of autumn had settled in, and I had made the mistake of dressing far more lightly than Richard. His choice of wear likely made it easy for him to sit still, but I thought that even if he was wearing his suit in a blizzard or a tropical summer, he would seem as even-keeled as ever. That was the beauty of jewels—they were something that was gorgeous from all angles.
Around a half hour before closing time, the intercom buzzed.
Richard set down his book, and I went to let in our surprise customer.
Accompanied by a brush of cold wind, a young man stepped into the shop. He had a slim frame, but despite being dressed as lightly as I was, showed no signs of being sensitive to the cold. His hair was slightly long in the front, bangs barely cropped above his eyes, but it was trimmed evenly. He was dressed casually yet neatly in a simple powder-blue sweater, gray slacks, and loafers.
The door closed behind him, and he glanced around the room once before asking, “This is a jeweler’s store, correct?”
“You’d be right,” I said, guiding him to sit in one of the red armchairs.
His hesitant expression curved into a full-faced smile. As he sat down, the awkward lines of his body began to bleed away, and he relaxed into the chair with an air of steady self-assurance. His pose remained polite, though—he kept his hands carefully folded over his lap, and his ankles were loosely crossed.
Originally, I had wanted to give him something to soothe his nerves, but it looked like that was unneeded. Still, I asked, “Would you like something to drink?”
“Ah… that milk tea would be nice, if you don’t mind,” the man said, gesturing to Richard’s teacup.
Richard returned from the bookshelf, taking over the process of greeting our newest customer, and I headed back to the kitchen. Both men spoke in clear tones, so even though they spoke at a medium volume, their voices carried well enough.
“…Richard Ranasinghe de Vulpian? Is it alright to call you Richard-san, then?” He spoke the name slowly, but he pronounced Richard’s full name without fumbling.
“Yes, that’s alright. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too, Richard-san. I’m Hanzawa Masato. Apart from gemstones, do you also sell jewelry at this place?”
“Indeed, we do. Is there something in particular you’re looking for?”
I returned to see Hanzawa-san wearing a thoughtful expression on his face. His gaze flickered towards me as I reentered the room. “I was hoping to look at stud earrings… and I’d prefer if they weren’t prohibitively expensive, I suppose. Is there anything else I should specify?”
“Are there any kinds of stones you’re interested in looking at? Or a particular occasion or style this is meant for?”
When I drew close enough, Hanzawa-san turned to face me and accepted my tea, eyes still curved in a pleasant smile. “It’s something like a birthday gift, I suppose. As for stones… I’m not too knowledgeable regarding them.” He paused in contemplation.
Choosing a gift was always a complicated thing, in my opinion. For a gift, the trouble never ended at the purchase—it was always at the gifting that the issues arose. Would they understand the gift with the same meaning that I had in mind when I picked it? I thought about my grandmother and mother choosing my name. Was I the type of person they’d had in mind? I could only hope that was the case.
“I guess… something neutral would be best? The kind of earring fit for daily work wear.”
“Are you interested in looking at birthstones?”
Hanzawa-san sipped his tea, eyes fluttering shut in thought. “Not particularly.”
I had spent enough time with Richard to catch the traces of concern on his face, but not enough to understand the reason. “It will take some time for me to bring my selections out. Please enjoy your tea while you wait,” he said, and then he was off, a determined crease to his brows.
Though I didn’t know exactly what was troubling him, I could learn. Surely Richard wouldn’t mind if I made some small talk?
“Might you also be a university student, Hanzawa-san?”
Hanzawa-san waved dismissively. “It’s only my first year, so I think I’m younger than you. I know I’m a customer, but there’s no need to be formal. Your name is…?”
“Nakata Seigi,” I said. “I’m in my second year.”
“I was right, then,” Hanzawa said. He’d passed over both Richard and my name without comment. I’d expected him to end the conversation there, staying as restrained as he had with Richard, but he spoke to me freely. “Would I be right in saying you seem more interested in jewels as compared to jewelry?” At my confusion, he gestured to my neck, ears, and hands, which were bare of any accessories. “You don’t seem to wear any, so I’d wondered…”
“I suppose it’s the jewel itself that interests me,” I admitted. “Is it the opposite thing for you?”
“Most likely,” Hanzawa said. “It’s what I have experience in, anyways.”
At my once-again befuddled expression, Hanzawa brushed back his hair, and I caught sight of six piercing holes in his left ear.
“I see…” I replied, a little stunned. Now that I knew what to look for, it was easy to spot a few of his piercing holes even when his hair wasn’t brushed back.
Richard had probably noticed them from the moment he’d walked in.
Now that I thought about it clearly, a birthday gift could be presented to oneself, couldn’t it? Just like Yamamoto-san trying to buy herself a garnet. Guys with piercings weren’t all that uncommon in my university, too, but none of them seemed like the type to buy jewels in Richard’s store. Then again, Hanzawa looked so mild-mannered that the existence of his piercings alone was a surprise, so I took this fact in stride.
In the same way that I’d only noticed the tiramisu in that bakery after asking Richard about coffee, it was only now that I realized the reason for Richard’s concern. If it was a present for himself, the uncertainty to Hanzawa’s answers was troublesome.
“If I could ask…” I prompted as Richard returned to the table.
Richard set down his tamatebako with a harder than usual thud. He was still frowning, though maybe more obviously than before.
“Sure.”
“Is there a reason a guy as young as you has so many piercings?”
Before I could get a response, I jumped at the sharp click that sounded at my side. Richard had opened up his tamatebako.
Hanzawa kept smiling up at me. He took a long sip of his tea, and then directed his attention towards what Richard had selected.
I leaned over to take a look. As I did, Richard shot a pointed glare towards me. What? I mouthed back, but he ignored me.
The stones Richard had picked were split between gemstones with faceted cuts and cabochons. The studs themselves were made of a simple silver backing, with the stone fitted on top in a rounded or squared shape. The exceptions to this were the studs fitted with lapis lazuli, which were backed with gold. While I recognized the diamond and amethyst, there were a few colored stones in faceted cuts that I wasn’t certain I could identify. But the ones that caught my attention were the larger stud earrings, which were fitted with polished stones that didn’t sparkle but had bands of red, terracotta, and peach striped across its surface. Others had the same banding pattern but in soft grays and whites.
“These are beautiful,” Hanzawa said, smile fading into a look of deep consideration. He leaned forward to study each one. “Diamonds are a classic choice,” he mused.
“You mentioned that you might prefer a neutral color,” Richard explained, “The clear color of a diamond is well-suited to that purpose. They might be a little above your price point, but if you enjoy the look of them, there are various alternatives you can seek out.”
“I see,” Hanzawa said. He gestured to the rest of the jewels. “I recognize the amethyst. And the… lapis lazuli, yes? Seeing it in person, it certainly is a vivid kind of blue,” he commented. “But I’m a little unfamiliar with the rest of these gems. Would you mind explaining them?”
“Of course,” Richard said. “The green stone you see here is peridot, and the stones in yellow and orange shades here are citrine. Like amethyst, it is a type of quartz. This”—he pointed to a deep orange stone— “is heat-treated amethyst, which looks quite similar. The banded stones are agate. They are a mix of quartz and moganite—both have an equivalent chemical composition, but different crystal structures.”
I hadn’t heard of moganite until now—unless I was mishearing morganite, but Richard had such wonderful pronunciation I thought that was impossible.
Despite the overload of information, all Hanzawa did was nod in understanding. “Peridot,” he repeated to himself, a curious look in his eyes. “I don’t think I’ve seen any before.”
The stone he was looking at was a sparkling kind of lime green. “It’s like the color of spring,” I said.
“Yes,” Hanzawa agreed, and bowed his head, suddenly bashful. “It’s… well, it’s a color I’m fond of,” he admitted.
“Spring is a wonderful descriptor,” Richard said. “Peridot tends to come in lighter shades than most emeralds, and it far more affordable. Would you like to see more?”
Hanzawa shook his head. “…No, it’s not really… well-suited for me.” After considering the other stones before him, he pointed to the lapis lazuli. “What does this get its gold flecks from?”
“Lapis lazuli is composed of several different minerals, and a common one happens to be pyrite, which is what creates that gold color. As you mentioned, the blue of lapis lazuli is quite vivid, which is why, historically, it was ground to create ultramarine. Before a synthetic alternative was created, it was an extremely expensive and prized paint.”
Hanzawa smiled down at the stones. “I’ve heard of ultramarine. Isn't it what provides the blue shades in many of Johannes Vermeer’s works?”
I made a note to ask Richard who Johannes Vermeer was later. Richard’s clients often spoke of things I wasn’t knowledgeable about, but this was the first time it had happened with someone so close to my age—though it wasn’t like people my age often visited this shop in the first place.
“You would be correct. Blue pigments were otherwise hard to come by, so his work is well-known for his use of ultramarine.” After a pause, Richard added, “If you are looking for something neutral, blue tends to be a color that pairs well with others.”
“Oh, that’s—I’ll keep it in mind,” Hanzawa said. Haltingly, he asked, “Is jewelry made of lapis lazuli—is it quite common?”
“Compared to the rest of these stones, it’s a bit of a more delicate material,” Richard allowed, “so it has to be carefully looked after. But historically, lapis lazuli has been used in all kinds of jewelry.”
“…Is that so.”
Silence dragged on between them. Hanzawa seemed unbothered by it, though it was hard to see much of his expression from above. Even face to face, his bangs and lashes expertly obscured his eyes without actually hiding them.
“…This agate. I feel like I’ve seen stones with this banding before.”
“Banding is characteristic but not exclusive to agate,” Richard said. “It has been used for carvings as well as jewelry and remains popular today. Each piece of agate has differences in how exactly the banding occurs, so one could say that each piece is truly unique.”
“Unique…” A ghost of uncertainty appeared on Hanzawa’s face, but it was gone in a flash. “Does it come in any other colors?”
“Oftentimes agate will be dyed into various colors, but there are some other colors present in naturally occurring agates. Would you like to see them?”
“Surely that dyed agate is prettier, huh?” Hanzawa murmured, so low I barely heard him. Apropos of nothing, he then straightened up, looking flustered. “Sorry,” he said. “I think—I think I’m a little in over my head.” He drank the last of his tea in disconcerting silence. “And it’s near closing, anyways,” he added.
“If you’d like to come back, we take appointments,” I said.
“…Right,” Hanzawa said, eyes still fixed on the sets of earrings before him. He set his teacup down on the table. “What would be a good time?”
“Sunday, 4PM?” Richard suggested, and Hanzawa agreed.
With that settled, Hanzawa thanked me for the tea, bid a polite goodbye to us both, and exited the shop, leaving another gust of crisp air in his wake.
Hanzawa had been right—it was now closing time. I went to collect the now empty teacups, only to find Richard looking up at me expectantly.
“What?” I asked.
He sighed. “Nothing that concerns you, I suppose.”
“By the way, who’s Johannes Vermeer?” I asked, ignoring the faint irritation in his voice.
“Have you ever seen a picture of Girl with a Pearl Earring?” Richard asked.
A vague portrait sprang to mind. “He was the artist?” I confirmed, and then went to wash the teacups.
When I returned, Richard hadn’t moved from his seat. Rather than close it and return to his room of jewels, he was staring at his open tamatebako.
I took a seat next to him. “Thinking about our client?”
“…Jewels reflect the inner feelings of a person,” he said after a long silence. “I wonder how to convey that truth to a person like him.”
“Is it harder because he’s young?” I asked, unsure what Richard thought Hanzawa was like. I didn’t even have enough information to describe Hanzawa as like anything. “Well, Hajime-kun was much younger, but his circumstances were different…”
“You’re quite young yourself,” Richard commented dryly. “Aren’t you two the same age?”
“If we went to the same university, I’d be his senpai,” I said. “Still. It’s rare. I thought he’d be more nervous.”
“…I don’t think he wasn’t nervous,” Richard said, but when I prodded him for an explanation, he didn’t elaborate.
“Well,” I said, wondering how I could clear those worry lines from his face, “we’ll see him next week.”
“Maybe,” Richard said, and this, I didn’t need him to explain.
If Hanzawa Masato came in next week at the appointed time, or if he had disappeared out that door for forever, it was impossible to know.
Part 2 of Male Yandere Fiancé (Lucian) X Female Sadistic Reader
I’d love to see the wedding/post wedding life of them. Especially with their recent new relationship dynamic. This story now can go every which way from where it was left off (and that thrills me, so have fun with it and go crazy, cause we love the unhinged devoted men!)
(Take your time, no rush, since college obviously takes priority along with so many other things in life. Good luck with mid-terms!)
A/N: This story is sort of sappy and angsty. But it does end well though.
TW: Periods, bloody tampons, pregnancy mention
You have been married to Lucian for five months. Your relationship with him gets better, and soon enough, both of you manage to treat each other like normal people. No manipulation or gaslighting. Just communication and Lucian pampering you.
"Lucian?" You ask, waking up from your slumber.
"Yes, my love," Lucian replies, closing his book and turning to you.
"I need tampons."
"What?"
"Tampons. I need tampons!"
"I thought your period wasn't until next week."
"It came early!"
"I told you to make yourself an appointment for the gynecologist-"
"Not the time, Luci!"
You get up and run to the bathroom. Your bedsheets are probably ruined, and Lucian will have to wash them again. You let out a wail, and sit on the toilet.
"Sweetie, what's wrong?" Lucian asks, opening the bathroom door.
"Why can't my body do anything right?" You wail, making Lucian hug you.
Recently, you thought you were pregnant. But when you went to the gynecologist, there was no fetus to be found. A recent urinary tract infection gave you a false positive on the pregnancy test. It was so humiliating, and all you could do was cry on the way home.
Then, your sex life with Lucian was put on hold after you couldn't fit his cock anymore. It was too painful for you.
"Oh, honey, it's not your fault. Your body is perfectly fine. Even our bodies have their off days," Lucian comforts, rubbing your back. "And I don't care if there's blood on the sheets, I just care if you're ok."
You continue to cry on Lucian's shoulder until he hands you a pad.
"Lucian, you know I can't wear pads. They never hold my flow," You say, looking at your husband.
"I know, which is why this is a temporary measure. We're going to the supermarket to get you some tampons and anything else you want," Lucian says, kissing your cheek.
You put the pad on and pull up your sweatpants. Lucian hands your favorite sweatshirt, and you slip on some sneakers. Your husband holds your hand as you walk out the door and get into his car.
~~~~~~
"Which brand do you want?" Lucian asks, stopping the shopping cart.
"Tampax. And can you please get a tampon brand with a plastic applicator?" You answer, holding onto a cute stuffed lamb that you noticed.
"As you wish, my love," Lucian replies, grabbing multiple boxes and brands.
Lucian grabs chocolates, heating pads, pain pills, and massage oil for you. He also spots some perm rods and puts them in the cart as well.
"Lucian..."
"Hm?"
"I don't think it can hold anymore."
His eyes widen, and he races to the self-checkout. Once everything is paid for, you both race to the car and buckle up. Lucian zooms home, and you go into the bathroom. You grab a tampon and try to put it in. Your husband hears your groans and muffles of pain and knocks on the door.
"Honey, are you ok? Do you need help?" Lucian asks, waiting on the other side.
You unlock the door and cry.
"Why won't it go in?" You wail, holding a bloody tampon.
"Sweetie, let me try," Lucian says, grabbing the applicator and trying to put it in.
"Ngh! It hurts!" You yelp, your hands gripping your sweatshirt.
"Ok, clearly this isn't going to work."
"Why won't my vagina work the way it used to anymore?"
"Lovely, it's ok. Your body is perfect. I'll love you even if you were only a torso."
"You're the best, Lucian."
You kiss Lucian not caring about the blood coming from you. He wraps your legs around his waist, and you spend the rest of the night in a towel with Lucian. When you schedule your next appointment with the gynecologist, you hear something you never thought you would hear.
~~~~~~~~~~
"Mrs. Sinclaire, I think you should look at this," Dr. Sanquez says, handing you three ultrasound photos.
"I'm pregnant?" You ask, looking at your doctor with wide eyes. "I thought I had a false positive?"
"You did. Your fetuses look to be 4 weeks old. So you got pregnant a week after the false pregnancy test."
That's right, five days before you scheduled your gynecologist appointment, you and Lucian tried having sex again. It was short, but Lucian did cum in you. Now four weeks later, you see the result of your night with him. After your appointment, you show Lucian the photos.
"You're pregnant? For real this time?" Lucian asks, holding you in his arms.
"For real!" You squeal, kissing Lucian.
You makeout intensely with your husband, and his hands rub your stomach.
"I can't wait to meet our babies," Lucian coos, kissing your cheek, ear, and neck.
"Me too."
Trans healthcare is Bullsh*t
Long vent post, cause I'm mad and need to release the feelings back into their natural habitat. Had less than two weeks to go before the hysterectomy I've been trying to get for almost five years, and insurance has denied my appeal. Again. Very clearly for the last time. The rejection letter deemed the surgery "Not medically necessary" and with the context of past interactions I don't think I could have heard the "Fuck off looser" more clearly if someone had told me in person. My first appointment for this surgery was in June, and I had already been waiting for years at that point. I thought had been very careful to get everything set up, and get all my letters of referral and paperwork strait before hand. Except my insurance specifically apparently had a whole extra qualification for this surgery, that does not apply to anyone else in my state, and that no one told me about because the provider I've been going through for my care has never had anyone bring up that requirement before. That being that I needed to have been seeing a therapist specifically for my gender dysphoria for at least 12 months before hand. So. Had to cancel my appointment for that. The new surgery date I got moved things for enough out that my two letters of referral for reproductive surgery, which have to be less than a year old, expired. For the third time. But that gave me a chance to try and fudge the therapist thing. I went back to the same therapists who gave me the letters last year, exactly one year after my last appointment, and they signed off that I'd been seeing them for 12 months. So we turned that in and filed an appeal. That's where it started getting really, really obvious that my insurance was bullshitting us. I currently make just barely too much money to qualify for my state's government insurance plan. (which sucks because Oregon state insurance actually covers transgender care.) But I don't have enough money to pay for my own insurance. I've been on a family plan from my parents. In fact I specifically moved back in with my parents so I would be covered by it. But I age out on my next birthday, which is January 10th. So it's become increasingly obvious over the last few months that insurance was just stalling for time until they didn't have to deal with me anymore. After I turned in the appeal with evidence that I'd been seeing a mental health provider for 12 months, along with my new letters of referral, I didn't hear back from them. Got to within a week of surgery. Contacted surgery scheduling, and they said I hadn't been approved. Contacted my rep. Apparently, they had never received any appeal letters. That was bull crap, btw, because when we re-scheduled things again, and me, my provider, and my rep all made absolutely sure to send things through the proper channels, the exact same thing happened a second time. And at that point it was late October, and the next appointment was Dec 4th. So we re-appealed. Again. My rep sent stuff up the chain directly, and made sure it got to the people who needed to see it. I was assured that I would have an answer within the week. Three weeks ago. Yesterday, I called my rep to check on things, and she read out my final rejection letter. So. Even if I had time to reschedule again before I age out in a month and a half, it's clearly just not happening on this plan. I'd already started looking for other insurance, but even if I find one I can afford that covers trans care, it will take long enough I'll have to renew all my letters again. The thing that really makes me mad about this is the wording of the rejection. "Not medically necessary." Because I've already had top surgery.
My insurance paid for the large, expensive, invasive, purely cosmetic breast surgery with high risk of complications without throwing a single wrench in things. But a minimally invasive reproductive surgery? When I have a history of painful cramping, irregular periods every 10 to 20 days, and bleeding so heavy and so often I suffer from mild blood loss if my weight dips below 175? When I am literally choosing not to loose weight so I don't constantly pass out, and have been doing so since my mid teens? When I have a family history of cervical or uterine cancer? Oh noooo. We cant have that. It's not medically necessary.
Mina’s Pregnancy
Tumblr media
TIS (66-68)
* Decided to put some of these chapters together to make easier to read. My parts are on the top and @coldfanbou ‘s comments are on the bottom. Easier to read both to understand. Hopefully this is easier to read.
Chapter 66:
Yes, it's weird how their minds work. They have spent so much time together (especially Jihyo) that she would sacrifice herself for her members. This takes a toll on you since you are just one person and now a father of two. The only safe space you have is with your baby Jisoo. You spend your time looking at Jisoo as you see the picture of all the members with Jihyo in the middle holding baby Jisoo. It's still unreal how you are a father to a beautiful child. You want to protect her and watch her grow. A week goes by, and you take mina to the ultrasound appointment. Mina is nervous to know the well-being of the baby and the possible gender. She lies on the table as the new nurse does the ultrasound. She looks confused as she moves the object around Mina's belly. The nurse steps out for a bit and says that she will call the head nurse. Mina is beginning to get scared as she doesn't know what's going on and why the nurse is leaving. You also ask yourself what's going on and try to comfort Mina.
“I'm going to be worried too, but I'll hold Mina's hand and tell her everything will be alright. Thoughts race through my mind, maybe Mina's having twins or something good, surely that must be it. I couldn't bear to imagine something being wrong with the baby.”
Chapter 67:
The nurse and the head nurse arrive and see that Mina is crying. You are holding her hand and can feel her hand shake. The head nurse tells her that since this is a small clinic, they don't have the equipment necessary to provide the correct results. She says that there are times when pregnancy has some complications and want to run some test to make sure they are correct. They recommend you to come back in two days, and they can have the equipment shipped and ready for another appointment. You help her out of the office, and she is crying softly. As you are driving her back home, she is holding on to her belly and is softly rubbing it, and you could hear her mumble some words but can't make it out. You arrive at the house and help her to her living but she says that she just wants to take a nap. You help her to her room, but Sana tells you she can take it from there. She spends the rest of the day in her room and has dinner brought to her as well. You try to talk to her, but the members tell you that they will talk to her. On the night of the second day, Mina calls for you and asks you if you could cuddle with her until she falls asleep. You agree and hold from behind while having one hand on her belly. She falls asleep, and you end up spending the night holding her. You have aloof thoughts in your mind and wish for the best. What do you think might happen?
“I'm thinking of all the possibilities, but I'm hoping it's something good, maybe the nurses just got confused and couldn't do their job right. Mina's been well taken care of, there's no way there could be something wrong with the baby. I'm just hoping that when we go back the nurses will be able to tell us that everything is alright with our baby.”
Chapter 68:
It's the next day and time for the appointment, hoping for some good news. All the girls (OT9) are here and are in support of Mina. They tell you to call them if anything. You drive to the doctor, and there is no wait. It is the head nurse attending to you and she tells you both that everything is set and ready to take some tests. It takes 1- 1 1/2 hrs for tests and tells you to wait in the room assigned to you. Mina is hooked up to IVs because they drew blood and ran tests than might tire the baby and the mom. They bring both of you lunch, and you wait. After 2 hours, the head bourse comes to your room and says that the doctor will read your results and answer any questions you or she might have. They pull out a monitor from the wall and show you Mina's ultrasounds. They tell Mina her overall health and say that she is expecting twins, twin girls. Mina is overjoyed while you are shocked. The doctor says that the first nurse was able to detect two heartbeats but also detected a foreign object which caused her to call the head nurse. The head nurse had some suspicions of what it could be but asked for an additional test to be run to be certain. The test demonstrates that during pregnancy, there were three embryos, two were developed in a timely manner, while the other embryo was not able to develop correctly. As the pregnancy continued, the embryos /fetuses took nutrients from the third and fully absorbed it. This condition is called the vanishing twin syndrome, and it occurs when a patient has twins, triplets, etc. Mina gasps, and you can see that she was holding back from crying. The doctor continues and says that there isn't a reason for why it happens or a way to prevent it. The doctor tries to make sure Mina understands that it is no way her fault or the twin's fault on why the third was absorbed. Mina asks if the baby felt anything or if it was in any pain. Your heart hurts as Mina is an emotional and caring person to the point that she sometimes cries for others instead of herself. The doctor says that since it didn't develop major organs, there was no pain. He gave an example of an egg being fertilized versus one not being fertilized. Mina seems to understand and tells the doctors that she needs time to think and process things. They leave and tell you to call if needed and to take your time. You try to talk to Mina, but she is deep in thought. You think to yourself about what just occurred and what to do next. *How did you feel and what should be your reaction?
“On the one hand, I feel happy that we are having twins, but I also think about how Mina is handling knowing that she could've had triplets. Knowing that she's going through a lot, I just want to hold her hand and be there for her. I decided, however, to gently hold her face and have her look at me before saying it's okay. I'll hold her for as long as I have to, so she knows she doesn't have to bear this burden alone.”
We Have a Problem
Paring: Matt Murdock x Reader
Word Count: 764
Warnings: Fluff, Slight lawyer jargon, pregnancy
Summary: The reader has a surprise for Matt.
“We have a problem.” Maybe not the best way to greet him when he walked through the door, but I have no patience. Unlike Matt, I couldn't keep things to myself. At least not from him. He was my best friend and the person I went to for everything; though I guess that's why I married him. It may have taken a while but I wouldn't trade any moment of our knowing each other for anything. I loved him with everything I had. And despite all the odds, we found each other. “What did you do?” I didn't like how suspicious he was of me. Granted, it was sort of my fault but he shouldn't have assumed that right off the bat. Plus, it was more his fault than mine anyway. “It's not my fault. And hey, what happened to ‘innocent until proven guilty’?” I asked. He only smirked and said “You're cute when you try to be a lawyer. And when you try to keep things from me.” He made his way throughout the house, getting rid of his keys, cane and jacket before making his way over to me. “Hey! One, I am a lawyer and two, just because you have super hearing doesn't mean you have to call me out on every lie I tell you.” “And you just admitted to lying.” Damn him. “No I did not!” I crossed my arms over my chest. Though I couldn't help the smile on my face that mirrored his own at our banter. “Ah but you did.” He reached out and took my hands in his. “Objection I-” but before I could continue I was interrupted. “Overruled.” He pulled me into him, wrapping my arms around his neck and his around my waist. “What happened?” “Really you should ask yourself that because technically I wasn't lying when I said it wasn't my fault.” “Y/n. What is it? You can tell me anything. You know that.” His voice lowered as he said that, softening so that only the two of us could hear it. Not that there was anyone else in the room to hear it, but still. He knew that I couldn't resist him being all soft and sweet. It made me melt as I’m sure he could tell with his stupid super senses. I sighed. “Fine.” It took me a minute before I continued. “Though it's not so much of a now problem as it is a future problem.” I could tell I was confusing him and it made me smile. He cocked his head to the side and I could tell he was listening to my heartbeat. Like I said, he had the gift of patience; I did not. “I wanted to do this in a special way but - wait. Hang on.” And I left him standing there as I ran into our bathroom where the test was waiting. He was still standing there probably trying to figure out why I was acting so weird. As I walked back out I called to him, “State moves for exhibit A to be entered in as evidence. Any objections, Counselor?” “That depends, what is exhibit A?” I took his hand and placed the test in it. I let him feel it to tell what it was. It took all I had not to yell it out for him. I was practically vibrating from excitement when he asked, “Is this what I think it is? Are you-” “Yes. And before you start, I took 2 other ones too and they all said the same thing. I made an appointment for next week to be completely sure but-” I couldn't get the rest of my sentence out because his lips were suddenly smashed against my own. I don't know how long it lasted, hell I forgot what I was even saying before. All I knew was that at that moment, I was completely happy. More than any other time I could remember being. After some time, Matt finally pulled back with the biggest smile on his face. My cheeks hurt from the width of my smile. I'm sure we both looked like total idiots but we couldn't help it.
I didn't think my smile could get any wider but I was proven wrong when he asked, “I'm gonna be a father?” Tears pricked at my eyes as I nodded. “We’re gonna be parents.” He pulled me into him again but this time in a tight embrace. The tears flowed freely now as I said “The problem is, where are we gonna put the nursery?”
Actually blogging? Groundbreaking.
2023 was a mess.
It was a character selection screen of a year, and I was stuck in that damn idle animation.
I had a lot of ideas that either didn't come to fruition, or did so in a lesser form than I wanted. Done is better than perfect, sure, but like...think of it this way.
You know the whole standby mode thing people talk about when they're talking about ADHD symptoms? Like, if you  have an appointment at 2, absolutely nothing will happen before then?
We spent the entire year waiting for word that yes, we could move. I was incapable of doing much of anything, because my to-do list always included stuff like "pack up these entire rooms" in anticipation of getting that go-ahead. That was too much for my post-Big Cleanout™ trauma brain. Prioritization? Time management? I don't know her.
Anyway, I thought I knew what fallow years were because uhhhh...look at post-migraine emergence 2019 through 2022.
But fucking hell, man. There was literally nothing for me to do but feel stuck and sit in that feeling and be furious because there was no utility to it. There was no upside. There was no lesson. Unless the lesson was "Bitch you thought," in which case, thanks, I've gotten that one hammered home real well a number of time over the years, we didn't need a refresh. To end on a high note, we did finally fucking get word that yes, my partner has permanent remote status, so yes, we can move. Cool cool cool. You know when they told us? Literally fifty weeks after he made the initial request. They slow walked that shit all fucking year while I ate my heart out trying (and failing, tbh) to wrestle my headspace into something even somewhat resembling stable and functional. We will be repairing the damage to many facets of our lives, individually and as a couple, for a long fucking time. These motherfuckers owe me a year. I know this is weird energy to star the year with but like. These motherfuckers owe me a year. Anyway, next year in Washington State.
