If you haven't read this yet please do yourself a favour and read it. The premise was enough to get me irrevocably hooked (anti-harem but the gf is ALSO into you. ALSO SHE'S YOUR EX) and the writing is just FANTASTIC. I'm obsessed with the dialogue and description at every turn. Also, I would very much like to kiss Quinn please and thank you. BURSTS INTO TEARS. Like for real though I adore this fic, it will break you into a hundred million pieces. My beloved son!!!!!!! I can't believe I didn't add this one to my last list it's such an influential piece of my existence like genuinely

There is also a sequel! Which hasn't updated since 2018 BUT STILL IS REALLY GOOD. If you want a slightly less heartbreaking story, the author also has another Sans/Reader; A Tale of Dog and Monster which makes me want to cry but in a happy emotional way instead.

Ah... this one is very fun. You're a scientist who gets accidentally isekai'd into a Mafiatale universe and becomes stranded there. Unfortunately for you, Don Gaster and his brothers think you are a spy, so you're kinda stuck with them. Also Sans is kinda a little freak in this one at times (/appreciative)

The reader (the Soul Collector) gets transported into another universe and has to stay with their alternate, who is the skeleton's terrible neighbour. You look just like her, of course, resulting in a lot of VERY confusing interactions. I wasn't expecting to, but I actually really like Meyer.

Anti harem, but the reader gets mcfreaking MURDERED (and so does classic Papyrus?!) so now they are both Ghosts. Focus is currently more on platonic relationships and REVENGE but I'm enjoying the twist on the typical anti-harem structure!!

Edge is very cute in this and I also feel really bad for him, he's trying so hard but the MC will not give him the time of day ;w;!! I looove me a good tumultuous soulmate fic. (Note: this fic also features Fem!Frisk as Sans’ soulmate in the bg, so if you’re not a fan, that’s something to note ^^! Fr//ans isn’t quite my thing, but tbh I’m really interested in seeing how things turn out here!)

So the first thing you need to know is: Papyrus is dead.

... WAIT WAIT WAIT HEAR ME OUT- this is a really brilliantly written fic about like. SO much fucked up shit happening. The reader is Sans' friend, who he has hired/tasked with guarding the various alternates he has. just straight up imprisoned(?!?!). I avoided this for a while because of the aforementioned Papyrus Being Dead thing, but HOT DAMN I'm glad I read it in the end. Delightfully horrifying, but it gets sweet I swear!!! I would say read the tags but those are Spoilery ;)!

Additional note; the comments section often has Really Interesting dissections of characters and their motivations, which if you're into that (like me) then you should read those too!

My Mafia Gasters (Info Dump: Revamp)

Warnings: Mafia, mafia men, violence, hotness(???), etc.

Canasta - Mafiatale Gaster

Personality: Sharp and Button's older brother. He can be very rigid and dedicated. He has a terrific sense of humor and is gentle with his loved ones. Most of the mafia see him as a father figure, and he raised his brothers on his own. He, on the other hand, is more than eager to kill someone to protect his family. He is willing to go into the field and get his hands dirty to ensure their survival. He ensures that they keep the vow of silence and attempts to develop equipment that will aid the mafia in their task. He serves as the mafia's leader and keeps his younger brothers and buddies in line. He is serious and direct, but gentle.

Appearance: He has a scar under his left eye and a large scar on his right. He has a blue eyelight and a faded orange eyelight.

Hex - Mafiaswap Gaster

Personality: He is Spade and Slick's older brother. He is extremely eccentric, yet he is also incredibly joyful. However, do not dismiss him as an idiot since he is quite intelligent and can read a room fairly well. He has the ability to appear kind and interesting as he draws people into his magic shop. He makes deals and guarantees that all of the lines are met almost perfectly. He adores his younger brothers. He has a tendency to be overly protective. Before coming out of hiding and displaying the side that is the reason he is a mafia leader, he shows himself as a naive and foolish skeleton who is easy to manipulate. However, once he drops his act, he is a haughty, ruthless (to a degree), and manipulative leader.

Appearance: He has large scars on both of his scars. He has bright blue and light orange eyelights.

Brawl - Mafiafell Gaster

Personality: Roscoe and Commander's older brother. He's the strongest of the mafia. Most civilians regard him as polite and gentle since they are unaware he is a member of the mafia. He's a flirt and enjoys giving his lovers nicknames. He can and will be passive-aggressive and disagreeable to anyone he regards as a threat, as long as they are in a polite environment; otherwise, he's just blunt and won't be scared to say it. Brawl truly loves his brothers. When his brothers are in distress, he usually rushes to their rescue. He only gives people nicknames who he truly likes. When he's enraged, his bite is much worse than his bark which may be extremely dangerous. He knows Hex's actions are mostly a ruse, but he also knows he's pretty brilliant when it comes down to it.

Appearance: He has a large painful scar under his left and a large and straight scar on his right. He has two dark red eyelight. He wears rings. He likes to sneak red into his outfits.

AWWWW YEAHHHH. I kinda got a rough idea of what meeting everyone would look like?

First contact(?):

You had just saved this goopy man from being turned into road kill, and now, you are sitting in his giant mansion. As one does, of course.

You could feel your hands tremble slightly as you picked up the expensive tea cup. Sitting across from you is the same old gentleman that you have so graciously saved, sipping on the tea as relaxed as he could be.

It's not that you regret saving him. It's just that you regret talking to him afterward. He had invited you to his home, offering to make you a meal, and you, thinking he was some wholesome grandpa, followed along happily. And now, you were in the home of the infamous Don Gaster.

You could feel your lifespan get shorter as his sons start walking into the room and seating themselves across from you...

Sans: "Who's da kid?"

Sans being the information man that he is, knows you perfectly well. (Y/N)(L/N), the waiter at the diner that's always runnin around taking orders in his side of Ebott city. You are always seen with disheveled hair and a stained apron tiredly walking to and from work. He had seen you around a couple of times, even thought of hiring you as an informant, but,,, he wouldn't want a cute doll like you to get tussle.

Papyrus: "POOR HUMAN! FATHER LEAVE THE THEM OUT OF THIS MESS."

Papyrus has a very strict "no bystanders policy." If you are innocent, in the wrong place in the wrong time, or just pulled in by his brothers, Papyrus will not hurt you. In this case, a poor human has done them an immense favor by saving their father. And instead of just giving you some money and sending you on your way, Gaster is practically keeping you hostage! All he could feel is pity for the cute, little human.

Blue: "MWEH HEH! WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE?"

Blue is excited as high hell. A competition with his brothers? There was no way he was going to miss that. But of course, it all comes to halt when his father mentions them becoming a spouse. HWAT? HE'S NOT PREPARED TO GET MARRIED! THAT THOUGHT HADN'T EVEN ENTERED HIS SKULL!? But now that he took a good look at them, they were awfully charming. He wouldn't mind seeing them more often, of course, only if they would let him.

Stretch: "Heh, this is goin ta be a mess..."

Stretch can already foresee some future problems. Not only were his brothers incredibly competitive for the head honcho seat, now there's a terrified human in the mix. And buddy, Stretch did not like humans. There were so many of those racist fucks crawling around the city and he had seen way to many hate crimes taking a simple walk. But... you seemed alright.

Red: “Awwwww, lil’ sweethearts terrified!”

Red is having the time of his life. There was no way that his old man was giving up his entire legacy for some human. Right? When it finally sets in, he begins to take it a bit more seriously. No worries at all! He can totally woo this lil thang, no problem! He'll be your big, bad, prince charming.

Edge: "WHAT IN GOD'S NAME IS THIS!?"

Edge has lived his life with professionalism. This was a whole new territory for him, and he did not like a single second of it. Sure, you're his type and sure, he would treat you like royalty if you were his spouse. BUT YOU WEREN'T! In fact, you were standing in his way...

Cinnamon: "Oh dear..."

Cinnamon has run into you before. You were coming out of work, he had assumed as you were quite a mess. You were extremely tired, so tired that you didn't even see him when. After crashing into him, you profusely apologized and handed him his cane, unfazed by his rather fearsome appearance. He liked that polite smile you gave him then rather than that fearful look you have now.

Bear: "..."

Bear remembered faintly. You were the one his brother was (secretly) excited about. You didn't look all that impressive... You did look quite cute. He wondered what your reaction to him would be.

Heya, my AO3 reading list is empty and I don't know what to read. Can you rec me some of your best fics?

I just have some requirements:

I don't read the "multiverse" crew (Nightmare, Dream, Bad Sanses, Geno, Ink, Error, ...), it's not my thing sorry.

I'm fine with whatever coming from the canon honestly, but I have a crush on Papyrus centric fics.

I love Underfell, Horrortale and Swapfell as well. I'm fine with AU mix when it's a Reader story. No Mafia or Yandere stories please.

I love Reader stories.

I like short stories, but I love 1 billion words story as well so go wild. I don't mind if the story is on going.

I'm not a lot into ships, but I'm very fine with Alphyne, Soriel, Salphys, Sansby, Gaster/Asgore and Papyton! No ship with Frisk or Chara please, or Sanscest or Papycest thanks.

I love ANGST, but funny things are good as well.

Outertale -

Outertale Sans: Cosmic Serrif. I thought it would be kinda funny that he would name himself Cosmic because when he finds out how similar he and Vanilla are, the two progressively end up making a connection to Comic Sans becoming a pun with "Cosmic."

Outertale Papyrus: Comet Serrif. Fast, energetic, and bright - Comet got his name out of inspiration. He actually was able to pick what name he wanted quickly as a result

Farmtale -

Farmtale Sans: Basil Serrif. Basil is a type of plant that is suspected to have mild sedative properties that affect mood and ease things such as depression, anxiety, and sleeping problems. Wonderful for foods, teas, etc, he thought that the name itself was just perfect for him. He's a very laid back character, so it works along with the fact that his magic happens to be green

Farmtale Papyrus: Juniper Serrif. The word juniper comes from the Latin word juniperus, which means "to produce." The name symbolizes life, growth, and it's known to be a resilient plant. So, what better name could he go for that's based off a plant like his brother and that perfectly captures his excellence?

Gtale(?) -

G!Sans: Marigold Serrif. Like his magic, it is a bright flower that often symbolizes power, strength, and light. It is also said that Marigolds are thought to attract souls. Back then in the Victorian Era, where the Language of Flowers prospered, marigolds often were about grief and sadness, often put in bouquets as a way of expressing kindness and solidarity. He would have chosen this name as a sort of gesture of withholding the memories of not only Gaster, but of all that lie underground as they vanished. He is a withdrawn and self reflective individual, it makes sense he'd choose it as it holds significant meaning to him

G!Papyrus: Sage Serrif. The name means wise, or prophet in Latin terms. The plant is commonly also used in practices that include burning it in order to connect to the spiritual world or enhance intuition. His magic is green, so to specifically focus on green Sage reveals that it represents wisdom, intelligence, and experience. When part of Gaster's soul fused with his own, not only did he grow more knowledge, but he progressively became a mixture of both personalities. So, sage was the perfect inspiration for him

Fashiontale -

For context: I do not like anything from the original AU Underlust It was a proshipping hellhole that I do not like and honestly most of the designs if not all of them are not to my personal liking. So, as a result I took some inspiration of what it was "going for" and decided to make my own little AU like spin on it. So, to get a slight idea, this is where these two come from

Fashiontale Sans: Cupid Serrif. The God of desire, attraction, affection, and erotic love. It's a fitting name for him because of his popularity underground for his performances and his ability to attract all the things that the God Cupid is capable of. He would only want such a pretty name for a pretty face

Fashiontale Papyrus: Desi Serrif. Desi comes from Desire, shortened to a simple sweetness. It also is a name meaning "yearning, sorrow, or desire." With all of this, what really pushed him to choose this name is because of the Desi Roses, a garden rose variety that is known for its strong scent. Everyone already knows the symbolism of roses, so this was just the perfect name for him

Apple Brothers:

I have no desire to change their names, since they're such solid ones. However, below, I decided to add little nicknames that were technically their own "names" when the two were children

Dream: Sunny or Dreamy, which used to be used by Nightmare when the two were children

Nightmare: Nicknames he had from Dream were ones such as Nighty or Moony. ("oh like FNA-" "shhh shhh shh shh. Shh")

Glitch:

Glitched Swap Sans: Blooper. He was not meant to be an outcode, let alone meant to even be in the void to begin with. A stumble of steps, a missed line, a missed frame. The dictionary states that Blooper means "an embarrassing error" "a mistake" and I think that perfectly encapsulates him entirely. How he feels, how he was created. There's a lot I personally changed in his character, but I wanted to name him Blooper since not only is it fitting, but because it also is a small nod towards "Blueberror", which was his original name

Closing Thoughts:

I plan to just keep the rest of the names that we have for other popular AU's such as Ink, Reaper, Dust, Killer, Error, Geno, and Cross.

Idk what this is but i had some freetime so :) some are longer then others like at one point i just started to write a damn storyline because i could

Since the truce NMs gang has been hanging around Dreams mansion because Nightmare and Dream have a lot od catching up to do and the gang likes to be around Nightmare to know hes safe so the council still has meetings but with the gang around

Ink leads most of the meetings and since the gang has started sitting around the table they have input, mostly Killer making fun of him but sometimes its actually helpful

Sometimes the different papyrus' come to the meetings and Dust sits back and watches them interact with everyone/eachother and he sometimes smiles and when someone points it out he denies it, Classic has noticed when Original papyrus is around Dust is super calm and has even fallen asleep at the table before so when Original pap gave him a hug for his birthday, Dust almost started crying right there

Fell has major respect for Horror just because he was starved as a kid(underfell gaster was horrible in my opinion) and he didn't think he could handle it and couldn't even imagine dealing with it everyday

Dust almost killed Classic frisk when they grabbed onto Dusts scarf because they were curious, thanks to Cross, Error and Nightmare, Dust was didn't kill them but damn was he close to it... Dust didn't come to anymore meetings if Classic frisk was there

Sci runs tests on the gang and when he mentioned therapy they literally almost fell over laughing at the suggestion..Sci was super confused and worried

Horror often cooks for everyone and Ccino makes coffe/tea for everyone so they work pretty well together but when Horror tries to care for Ccino to much Ccino freaks out a little bit

Cross makes sand castles in Piratetale and a few of the other council members join him and nobody knows about it besides thoes few

Since Nightmare is a neat freak and Dream doesn't really care Nightmare almost screamed when he saw how messy Dreams room was and went on a 4 hour cleaning streak of the whole mansion and when he was done the whole mansion and was forced to take a break by Killer

Killer was made Nightmares right-hand-man because 1. Dust didn't wanna be and 2. He was able to beat him in a fight with no magic and Nightmare was extremely impressed, and Killer has literally taken bullets for Nightmare even tho Nightmare scolded him for doing it and he ends up defending Nightmare in meetings if anyone says anything rude

Mafia and Dust got into an argument and Mafia pointed his gun at Dust to intimidate him, But to his surprise Dust put his head on the gun and told Mafia, to pull the trigger while starting at him and Mafia was so stunned that he just put it away and didn't say another word...Dust had a smug grin ons his face for the rest of the day.

Killer and Ink are actually pretty good friends and are so mean to each other at the same time "hey souless whatcha doing" "nothing much, just thinking about how horrible you are" "aww if had a crush on me you could've just said something" "shut up, murderer."

Edge was pushing Fell around and Nightmare told him to knock it off, Edge responded with "like you know anything about being a good brother!" Before he could even think about what he had said, he was pinned down by the gang with sharpened bones inches from his face and a axe to his throat. Fell was to stunned to move and Nightmare was quiet before he told his gang to settle down, they did but not after telling edge to think before he speaks. The fell brothers left after that but Fell came to apologize but Nightmare just told him it was fine and words like that don't mean anything to him.

When Passive Nightmare showed up for the first time Reaper laughed for a splid 5 minutes about the "grumpy cat face" Nightmare had on

Passive Nightmare and Dream fell asleep leaning on eachother while Nightmare was reading and everyone took a photo and when they both woke up neither of them said anything about it but were both extremely relieved that their family was back together

Error doesn't usually join the meetings since he hates large crowds of people but when he does join he sits next to Blue or Nightmare without fail. One time Blue was walking around and he tripped, so Error grabbed him with his strings... right as Stretch walked out of a portal and when he saw Blue in his strings he threw Error against a wall with magic and sent a few dozen blasters his way knocking him out before he was held down by Nightmare who looked FURIOUS. After Stretch had what happened explained to him he felt a little bad for knocking him out and after Error woke up he carried on like nothing happened "tHaat waS a NnicE nApp" "are you hurt??" "MeNtallY orr phYysiicallYy?" "Yeah hes fine" "sorry.." "nAh yoU're gOod" "you're not mad?" "Ooh I'Mm pisSeD buUt I'm tTo laZzzy tO dOo annYythiing abouUt iit" "oh-"

Blue talks to the gang like they're family and at first people thought of Blue as a traitor but when they saw the gang fight to protect Blue when people wouldn't listen to him they quickly learned that Blue had them no matter what and he was also extremely smart in battle tactics and glad they finally started listening to him

Dream swore he never gets mad so Killer made it his goal to have Dream snap at him, Cross warned him not to do it but Killer never listens, so it started out by Killer ""accidentally'" spilling stuff on Dream which only gave a positive response, then tripping him, once again Dream didn't react then right as he was about to give up he noticed Dream was having a bad day so he was clicking his pen extra loud and tapping it on the table thats when Dream absolutely lost his shit. Dream took a deep breath and when Killer clicked the pen again Dream teleported over and grabbed him by the collar and started screaming at him "GOD DAMNIT WILL YOU STOP THAT. I'VE PUT UP WITH YOUR SHIT FOR WEEKS NOW IS THIS THE REACTION YOU WANTED?? WELL HERE YOU GO!" Killer proceeded to get tossed down as Dream stormed out of the meeting room and Cross ran after him, He laughed and turned to Nightmare who was reading a book, unimpressed "he looks like you when hes mad, his eyes even turned a bit purple" "we are twins afterall, don't forget that" "Right Right"

Cross treats his giant knife like its no big deal and waves it around like it weighs nothing but it weighs a solid 80-90 pounds of solid metal, he can also do tricks with it(imagine like the color guard people but instead of flags its a giant knife?)

Horror pranks people but since he usually doesn't do it all the blame gets put on Killer so he gets away with a l o t of stuff because of Killer being the fall man, Horror is more chaotic then the other he just doesn't let that side show at all

Nightmare seems to be in a better mood since making truces with Dream and Error was the first to notice because when Error dropped something and it made a big mess instead of the heavy sigh and eye roll he actually handded Error some paper towel to clean it up and Error was so freaked out he almost fought him

Welp, he is my mafiafell sans!

He works as a bodyguard in the royals' casino, well they say is a casino but its usually where the royal scientist and royals meet up to discuss or do the experiments. Then the next day is a normal casino, he is the one that makes sure no one gets violent or is a jerk.

He and his brother got adopted by Kian (mafiatale gaster) due to his father being dusted by a traitor in the mafia so they grew up with Bonnie and Clyde, they're his baby brothers lol.

Patrone is just an alias, he hides his real name in honor to the mafia his father used to work for.

Mafia is my favorite too, for two reasons.

The implementation of non-Omori characters. This up there with Gaster. Pit's story shows just how TERRIFYING the villain is, especially using a character who was described in his game as the strongest Nintendo character. It doesn't feel tacked on. Gaster also nailed this, using the scientist as an important part of the plot the villain. In MatPatCat, Sans and the Mario Bros felt tacked on

Consequences:

Most of the arcs, the only lasting thing is like, new abilities. In this arc, we have character deaths, and permanent injuries. It just feels so much more tense.

Sorry, I had to ramble

Not that much deaths tbh. I think an arc is being planned that involves an OMORI character. I’m excited for that one, but I won’t say why for spoilers.

Yeah the permanent injury was very shocking to me. It’s not something that’s happened before in the OFA.

I think you nailed that explanation.

There’s also The Voice of Reason who tries their best and whom everyone ignores.

Plus BASIL & OMORI fighting should be interesting. I mean, we all know BASIL will probably win, but who knows. This is improv after all.

Shackled from Truth: A Fragile Game

Chapter 1: Planning Introductions

(Notes: First time writing something that is published for people to see. Critique is welcome, bullying is not. This is a sort of introduction to the ‘Shackled from Truth’ series I hope to write, so kinda a little get-to-know-the-characters. So sit back and have a snack, and let me know what you think!

btw, ya’ll will need this definition before reading this:

What is a Matrigrid?

A Magrid is an original species that I came up with for my Mafia!Fell AU. These are creatures who are 1/3 human, 1/3 monster(I have included a subspecies of monster that is not technically canon to Undertale in this definition), and 1/3 pure soul energy (essentially magic). They are the result of the partnering between a monster and a magically prone human (most commonly a mage, but not always), which causes them to be shunned by both species, often resulting in frequent executions when encountered.

They often appear as a normal human, aside from their eyes. They have tattoos that hold their dormant magic and resemble the dominant creature. When using their magic, the tattoo will light up and features that represent the non-human side of them will appear, formed by the magic (ie tail, ears, wings, claw, etc.)

They can pull out their monster side, but still look too human to pass as monsters.)

Serenity West set down the final box and glanced around the tiny apartment that she would be staying in for the next couple of months. She rolled her stiff neck, then turned to her right hand woman, Zara.

“That’s everything. Do you and the others understand what needs to happen next?” Serenity asked.

Zara nodded, “Skye and Daji have already infiltrated Vital’s ranks.”

“And you’re sure this apartment is in Mr. Adelphi’s territory?”

“Yes. He controls the east side of the city, and this is the center of it. There’s no way we would miss it.”

Serenity nods and scans the room once more, taking in every detail of her new living space. “Has everyone found a safe place to be for now?”

Zara nods and stuffs a piece of paper into her Boss’s hand. “That’s a list of where we are all staying. You start your newspaper delivery job tomorrow morning. I took careful note to ensure that the list can be easily disguised as a reference for your route.” She glances at the clock. “I have to go make sure everyone else is stationed properly. Expect a status report two weeks from now. Goodbye, Ren.”

Serenity smiled at the use of her nickname. “Be careful out there, Zara. Even the slightest mistake could lead to the demise of us all.”

Zara nodded as she head out the door, but paused before turning the knob. “Y’know you can trust us, right?”

Serenity looked down at her feet before managing a nod, “I just worry.”

There was a pause, a breath, before Zara responded quietly. “…I know.” Within moments, the door clicked as the latch closes behind Zara, and Serenity is once again left alone. She moves to unpack the few boxes of personal items she brought into the apartment.

A few hours later, the run-down apartment is as homey as it will get. Adjusting a floor lamp positioned near a reading nook, Serenity steps back and observes her work.

“At least it looks livable now.” She mutters to herself. Exhaling, Serenity sinks into one of the plush armchairs. She rests her head in her hands, letting the whirlwind that was the last few weeks sink in. She let her mind wander back to a room that held a circular table, upon which was a map of Ebott city, which was covered in small, colored pawns. It was her council room, where the plan had been first decided on.

“We need space in the city. Only problem is, Ebott already has five gangs, and that was the limit set by W.D Gaster, the Golden Head.” Chikai, Serenity’s tactic’s Lieutenant, responded to a long discussed issue — how to infiltrate Ebott City so that their gang, the Forsaken, could take root. The only issue, the obstacle that uprooted every plan they had, was W.D Gaster, head of the Serif Family.

W.D was the longest standing and most powerful Mafia Boss in Ebott city. His astute business sense, careful attention to detail, and ability to manipulate and intimidate those around him had earned him an enormous amount of respect. That, coupled with how long he had run the city, had earned him the title of the Golden Head. It allowed him to enforce rules and set guidelines for the other gangs. And his longest standing rule was what kept Serenity awake for long hours at night — only five gangs at a time. Otherwise, he’d snuff out the ‘extras’.

That was the issue at hand. That was what they had to solve. Zara shifted, coming forward to the table. She plucked the deep plum colored pawn off the table and dangled its head between two fingers, “Who does this represent again?” She tilts her head at the swaying pawn, a smirk growing on her face.

Krystal, the family’s hacker, places a sheet of paper on the table. “That’s for Adelphi Vital. He’s the Silver Hand, once known for his cruelty and ruthlessness, but he is hardly deserving of that title now. He just runs a couple of rundown, sleazy bars and collects measly protection fees from his areas. His gang kinda fell apart after he went soft.” Her tone is serious and nonchalant.

Zara grins. “If his gangs so weak, why don’t we just infiltrate ‘im? Take ‘im out, then replace ‘im.”

“Never said he was weak. Just that his gang is falling apart. He’s still the Silver Hand.” Krystal picks at her fingernails, examining them for dirt.

Serenity runs her tongue over her fanged teeth. “Zara’s on to something. With some careful maneuvering and a lot of patience, we’ll be able to take him out.” Another moment of consideration. “Chikai!” The woman snaps to attention, watching Serenity carefully. “I need you to come up with a way to get into his forces. It needs to be subtle and gradual.”

“Whatever you say, Boss.” Chikai salutes, then exits the room.

Serenity continues to stare at the board, a grin spreading across her face. They’d struck gold. As long as they could avoid detection by W.D Gaster, within a few months time they’d be in the city.

Serenity sat up with a start, failing to noticing she’d fallen asleep. Soft morning light was just beginning to filter in from the grimy window across the room. With a groan, Serenity stretched out her back, wincing as it popped and cracked. “Guess that’s what I get for falling asleep in a damned overstuffed armchair that is at least fifty years old…” she grumbled.

Making her way over to the small closet, Serenity picked up an outfit that had been designated to aiding her in playing her part as a clueless, poor, newspaper kid. She pulled on the collared shirt and the pleated pants, then dawned a vest to somewhat disguise her feminine figure. After glancing at the mirror, she messily braided her long, black hair, and pulled on a newsboy hat. After slinging a bag over her shoulder, she went out her apartment door.

As Serenity passed through the lobby, she saw a man pin something up to a board. Curiosity soon got the best of her, and she checked what the paper said. In bright, red words, the poster advertised a public meeting with the landlord. With a smirk, Serenity stuffed one of the flyers that was offered into her bag, and continued on her way. This was the perfect opportunity to see her opponent in person.

She passed the lounge area, which had a small bowl of fruit on the center table. Serenity grabbed a slightly bruised apple out of the bowl and then found the bike rack outside. She unlocked her bike, picked up her newspapers, and began her delivery rounds. She passed a few of the safe houses that ran near her route, yet didn’t see signs that anyone was living there. She could only hope that Zara was right about everyone’s safety.

After circling back to her apartment, Serenity locked her bike up and returned to her room. Realizing that she had to figure out what to do for the rest of the day so she didn’t blow her cover, she sighed. It was going to be a long couple of weeks.

“AIGHT, BOSS. HERE’S TH’PAPERS FOR TH’NEW TERRITORY.” Papyrus set a heavy stack of paper onto his eldest brothers desk.

The scarred skeleton, who was sitting behind the desk, smiled tiredly up at the tall skeleton in front of him. This was Wingdings Gaster, head of the Serif family. “The deal went through, then?”

“vital was more’n happy t’share wit’ us.” A shorter, bulky skeleton who was leaning against the doorway, spoke up.

“Thank you, Sans.” Wingdings stood up. His tall frame was muscular, and his demeanor bled power. “When did you organize the meet up, Papyrus?”

“TH’ HUMANS SHOULD GATHER IN TH’ LOBBY BY NEXT THURSDAY.”

“Five days? Alright. Someone let Alph know that we need a campaign. We want these humans to trust us. We don’t want them panicking when we start bringing our business partners there.”

Sans nodded. “y’got it, wings.” The skeleton turned and short-cut away, leaving the slight buzz of magic in the air behind him.

Wingdings sat back down.

“I CAN’T WAIT TO MEET TH’HUMAN RESIDENTS, WINGS!” Papyrus stated. “MAYBE WE SHOULD HOST A DINNER SOMETIME! I KNOW A GREAT PASTA RECIPE.”

“Perhaps, Papyrus. You are dismissed.” Wingdings waved his hand, letting Papyrus continue his other work. Just five days until Wingdings could begin taking old man Adelphi’s territory and adding it to his own. He didn’t want to risk a major weakness in the city anyways.
