— I don't go to sleep at reasonable times even when I say goodnight and if it weren't for the fact I'm tired 24/7 with no real energy I would NOT be sleeping in for even an hour. ((which happens anyway sometimes))

— I dislike irl interactions (unless I trust u a bunch) and I honestly try to avoid it as much as I can.

— I'm only /open/ to close friends(who I will see as family), my partner, or my cousin and I'd let them enter my space with no consequences

— I forget when I should eat and just avoid it whenever I can/want to because of personal reasons.

— Sometimes I forget to care for my hygiene ((dw I shower everyday when I have the will to stand))

— I put myself down faster than you can blink or I keep calling people names ((none offensive, think like... idk, tree or smth.)) to hype myself up

— I really.. and I mean really.. have a lot of family oriented trauma and if I could I would genuinely make a robotic family of how my family was before to me.

— For some reason, when I would ask my friends of what they first thought of me it was always "I was intimidated" or something of the sort and I would genuinely get so confused while looking like this.

— I don't get invited much to anything or get asked if I wanna join something a lot but theres this one person who makes sure to ask me if I wanna play games or watch videos together a lot like Malleus and Yuu ((PLATONIC YUU FOR ME DAWG. I SEE HER AS MY MOTHER.))

— I get isolated a lot in my family and if I wanna be around people I gotta do it myself (which is hard) and sit there but still be overlooked

— I'm not as in touch with my emotions as I make myself out to be, I'm very much out of them and I'm only really acting as to how I think people would want me to

— I don't understand human customs hel. Like I genuinely get so confused and be in awe when I see things others see like everyday

— I have big issues with abandonment and death when it comes to close friends (I'm talking like 4 year friendship and stuff.) or family I've grown attached to (my cousin), I'd genuinely do anything if it meant they'd stay with me ((vague spoilers lol!?))

— I take what my friends say very seriously if they aren't indicating that they're joking no matter what I sound like. That being said I make jokes unintentionally sometimes when im not even meaning to be funny

3. Riddle Rosehearts

— You don't have to hear me out on this one I'm a little shocked too.

— When I was younger I used to be wayyy too bossy and rude and if anyone even apposed me I would get angry and metaphorical go "off with your head"

— The only reason I woupd be so bossy and rude was because of my family and how they'd bend to my every will and encourage my behavior to others because i was a "golden child"

— especially my mom. She would see my bossy self and go "thats my mini me", looks and her personality

— As I grew older that bossy nature lessened of course but there are times i get angry when others dont have the same thought process like me and don't do something correctly in my eyes

— The only reason I don't let that bossy nature slip by is because of the fact I became my own ace and punched and told myself that I'm not the addition of my mother and I'm not the queen of the world

— of course I'll still follow rules but if they're like... unnecessary I'm not following them at all. Especially if its smth like "u MUST tie ur shoes five times" suck my D-'EYE'-C-K fr. 🐈

— I still have anger issues but I try and not let it slip past either. There was a time I got so angry that I was shaking and I had to be held back from attacking someone ((metaphorical "off with your head"))

4. Rook Hunt

— I'm not as shocked by this

— For the other three it's more personal but for rook its in all caps PERSONAL. I see beauty in literally all things even if it truly is the most ugliest thing in space

— I can watch people from afar without getting caught exactly but enough for someone to get restless if I want them to be

— There are times I find information of someone on accident and I will be going deep into it. Like deep into it and then I'll forget it because it's not anything needed at that moment

— People either feel safe talking to me or unsafe and I cannot explain why bc even I dont know.

— I would wear outdoor boots for/with everything if I could and ik it would make people scream in horror.

— talking about horror i would watch detailed horror movies just to say how beautiful it can be and the symbolisms.. etc.

— I can also read characters kinda well??!?! and write them sorta well???!?? idk how to explain it but give me enough time with watching a character and I'll tell you exactly why I think they act the way they do or think the way they do or feel the way they do or how they would react to xyz, etc.

— even when I or my friends dont like someone I don't just base my reaction on that ((like I'm not a fan of neige or vil but if you told me to choose between the two I could not. both of their characters are good and if you wish I can even try to explain how.))

— I had a phase where I would speak in one language for a while ((spanish)) but i forgot what I used to say however half the time it was always me sayinf "i love you" to others i loved

— I called someone my butterfly once i think???? Cant remember who

5. Azul Ashengrotto

No but like, when it comes to making friends irl the best advice I can give you is to surround yourself with like-minded people (like join a group with a shared interest or something) and don't be afraid to be bold. I can assure you, most people want friends and will only be relieved if you offer them your friendship yourself. I recently made a friend when we were having a conversation and she complained about how she didn't have many friends and I just said "hey, we can be friends!" And that was that. She happily agreed and we have been friends ever since. 😊 Obviously this just works if the people you talk too are good people but you shouldn't bother trying to make friends with people that aren't. I was considering not responding to this solely on the base that it's a complex practical-focused discussion we've had in our system over it in balancing out a number of factors that would tie into our nuanced views regarding the internet and closed culture names (we are half Chinese/Indonesian with our own Chinese name) and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to put that effort / risk bringing up discourse that I know a lot of white people would jump in on.

So with that being said, if you are not of a closed culture, don't even bother commenting on this post or sending an anon, your opinion means nothing and I'm really tired of seeing white people join this discussion and/or talking over those that aren't. That said, if you are Japanese or of another closed culture, feel free to communicate in good faith about this. It's a topic we have thought on a lot and our principles for this nuanced situation is principles we'd put out to others (including white people), but we are one opinion and one person and I'd be interested in hearing others perspectives.

But anyways, to the proper answer.

No, we are not Japanese but beyond online spaces, we don't use the name "Riku" on the account that we 1) have our own Chinese name 2) It's cringe for me - someone not Japanese - to expect someone to call me a Japanese name, super weeby, super disrespectful 3) why? its not mine and its weird. We don't introduce ourselves with it and entirely transitioned in practically all settings to our irl Chinese name (its also a chosen name since #Trans and fuck hyper female names)

With that being said, the name "Riku" comes from it being my old username on an anonymous website similar to this and has largely since been more of a placeholder username for anonymity purposes than it is a proper name. I've largely wanted to switch away from it in online spaces because I do feel a bit uncomfortable having people refer to me as such, but at the same time, the alternative is going by the name I go by IRL which is a security / safety hazard since I am the part that shares the name with the body.

With the balance of anonymity and this overall issue, considering we only use it in anonymous spaces and treat it like a username or a tumblr url - that much like any other website here its implied that you are referencing the character in context of "this is a username" and all, I don't see the massive harm. Is it unideal and still a part of the problem to some degree? Yeah. But at what point is someone on a website using IchigoKurosaki41 and this a drawn line?

Either way, I am of the (soft, ie open to changing my mind) opinion that so as long as it isn't being used irl and in face to face environments and once friends go from "anonymous to non-anonymous" that the name is shifted over and thus treated and handled like a username (something that protects anonymity), that it is fine.

The other statement of the matter would be that I could just come up with a different online name / username which would be a fair commentary, but considering its a name I only use online, we've come to the general opinion that it's more hassle than its worth since we don't really much see the damage as anything more than talking about a username with a character name in it, or talking about an OC with a name from a closed culture and find it hard to be motivated to find a fitting alternative online-only name short hand.

And I guess in a TLDR clear statement of my current standing soft opinion on the matter, I don't personally think it is a huge issue for online anonymity protecting names that are used and handled like online usernames to be based on a character or whatever is naturally developed from username. The large issue in closed names, in my opinion, comes when the person has people they know in person, in face to face, and irl use it as a >name< because in that case it comes with large disrespect and insult.

We largely have soft opinions on the matter cause we very much do understand and do not like people stepping on the toes of closed culture names, and we just come to this opinion based on how we would feel if a white person were in the same situation and only went by the name Xiao, Yuan, or Ji or similar chinese names. If people of closed cultures have opinions and thoughts on the matter, I'd be open to hearing and holding discussion if it good faith.

In the end though, if this topic / discussion becomes too negative / of bad faith / into a "debate" or just generally taxing on our peace, we'd probably just stop discussing it since we use this blog as a hobby chatting area and don't see the topic important enough to stress about it all day.

1 - how old were you when you found out you were autistic?

technically, 5. i was officially diagnosed with sensory processing disorder when i was 5 - which was still called sensory integration disorder at the time. but as i got older, much more symptoms started showing up outside of sensory stuff, such as stimming, hyperfixations, photographic memory, and food aversions. i started suspecting i was autistic when i was 15-16, but my parents dismissed it because i didn't "look" autistic. by the time i was 18 or 19 i was watching and reading a lot of things online about autism and i had never felt more seen. my parents have learned a lot more since then and now accept me as autistic.

7 - do you find it hard to make friends?

oh DEFINITELY. i have people that i talk to at college but i am awful at starting conversations or maintaining friendships. as far as friends i regularly hang out with go, i've had the same 2 friends since the mid-2010s.

10 - what are your most common stims?

at the moment i'm fidgeting with half of a pop-it ball - one that was badly glued together in manufacturing and was ripped apart by me fidgeting with it so much. there are holes in the two halves as well because of how much i poke them in and out. so that's a common stim for me. i also have a regular pop-it that's not a ball, a metal slinky and aaron's thinking putty. i rarely sit at my desk without fidgeting with something.

i also hum a lot and rock around in my seat.

i have neurodivergent IRL friends, but they aren't autistic. i do have autistic internet friends though! if y'all are reading this i love y'all <3

Hi lovely anon! I'm so sorry to hear you're in a rough patch right now. But there are SO MANY communities online that you can be a part of where you can talk about your writing all you want with other writers! ♥

So, there are a couple things that stood out in your message that I'd like to address if you don't mind :)

1. Writing is not immature.

Storytelling has always been, and always will be, an active part of humanity. From the earliest cave paintings discovered, people have told stories to make sense of the world, to share their history/culture/religion, to record their lives, or for escapism.

Look at every movie and tv show you've watched, every book you've read. Who do you think writes those stories?

Adults.

Do you think they're immature? Do you think they're childish for telling their stories? Getting published? Getting Netflix deals and creating blockbuster movies?

I don't know about you but I certainly don't think they're immature!

This kind of thinking is a script you've been fed. Don't keep jamming it down your own throat.

If you want to write, keep writing. If someone considers you immature because of it, OH WELL. You're too busy writing to care.

It takes actively pushing back against these thoughts to overcome them. And every writer has something like this that they wrestle with.

This list of 50 published authors who were rejected and/or told point blank to not write is just the tip of the iceberg.

No matter what you do with your life, there will ALWAYS be someone putting you down because of it. If you enjoy writing, DO IT.

And stop repeating the negative things that people have told you. Remind yourself why you enjoy writing. Remind yourself of the positive things people have told you about your writing. Actively create an environment of positivity for yourself!

2. Lack of support won't stop you

I know this is hard. Really, really hard. But nothing - and I mean NOTHING - in this life is easy. If you want to write, you'll damn well do it whether you have a support group or not. Because it burns in your blood. It makes you restless if you don't write.

At some point, there may come a time when you are the only person who believes in your story. Because you told it. Because it's your creative vision. Because it's your voice.

And it's important to learn how to keep going, even when it's just you.

I read recently (I wish I had bookmarked the article because I can't find it now, darn it!) where author Dean Koontz had an agent that told him he shouldn't aspire to be a best-selling author. His books weren't that good.

His AGENT told him that! The person who was supposed to support and represent his works!!

He left that agent, got another agent, and became a best-selling author.

At some point, you have to grab your writing by the horns and growl at anyone who says, "You can't" because YOU CAN and YOU WILL.

3. Go where you thrive.

If you don't have friends IRL or family who listen to your writing, that's not your audience. Plain and simple.

It's not easy to come to terms with, but sometimes friends and family are NOT the ones who will be supportive. They may even be a stumbling block for some of us.

If your friends and family aren't getting your writing, go to the people who DO get your writing.

Hello! I'm actually not part of the Genshin Impact fandom yet since I don't have the game, but I'm getting a new phone soon and I really want to start playing. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for newbies? Mods or just anyone. Thanks in advance!

that's awesome! here's some advice from us, but feel free to reblog/reply/etc with your own advice to help OP!

- don't stress about the game mechanics if you're not a big gamer, you'll pick it up once you start playing more

- you don't need to wish at all if you don't want to since the starter team/free characters are all that's needed to complete the game! there are plenty of youtubers out there who only use the starter team (see: bwaap) and they're totally fine :)

- use all your resin, even when you're at a low world level. fight some world bosses (regisvines, cubes, etc) or do the ley line flowers (the big blue/yellow spheres). if you've unlocked weapon/talent material domains, you can do those too. you'll thank yourself later, trust us.

- that being said, don't grind artifact domains until you're ar45!!! it's not that you can't, and if you super need artifacts, you can do a few runs, but don't waste your fragile resin on them. the reason is because you really want to get the five-star artifacts when you run domains, but they don't drop until ar45, so just save your fragile resin

- if you're a student, make sure to organize your time wisely. we're all students too, so we understand your pain, but schoolwork will always come first!!!

- if you're struggling, you should try to find a few people or a community that will consistently help you and give you advice. you might want to ask your irl/online friends, or maybe even join some discord servers (p.s. the genshin wiki server is pretty nice)

- as we've said above, if you're struggling to manage your time, you can consider only focusing on the 'important' things in genshin, like archon quests and weekly bosses, and spend less time on the things that aren't as important to you, like maybe housing or exploring.

- do your ascension quests asap!!!!!!! 1. higher world levels give you better drops and 2. if you procrastinate for too long and gather too much exp, you might end up going up TWO world levels, and you might not be ready for that.

- all of us admins waited until we were at least ar20 to fight stormterror (you need to be at least ar18) because we weren't ready immediately. you can also wait like we did, but we don't suggest waiting for too long. try to do it before you reach ar25.

- along the same line, if you watch youtubers or your friends play and they have really high damage (five or six digit numbers) and you’re barely hitting anything, don’t feel bad at all! people who pay to play have a vast advantage over free players in terms of damage, but the most important thing is to just enjoy playing the game! All of my favourites XD Ok, tbf at least the ones where I got attached to the characters have small fandoms (Realm of the Elderlings, First Law, Poppy War, The Goblin Emperor, Howl's Moving Castle) contrary to books I love and have close to no content like "The Seventh Bride" by T. Kingfisher. I wish there was fanart for it, but I also wouldn't get deep into fandom talk about that book. I guess I would like Octavia E. Butler's books to have bigger fandoms, especially the Xenogenesis trilogy and Earthseed duology. I would just love to see fanart for it and memes and theory and analysis posts for those books. I understand that the books I love aren't the kind of books that call for a big fandom of artists or people that are into fandom to begin with though. A lot of people read them, but don't create anything for it or discuss it without tiring :(

I am hoping to like it, but I am keeping my expectations low.

No. Everyone has different tastes and just like I believe that there is a book for everyone I also believe that there is no book that will please everyone. Now, a book that someone should read in order to be more open minded and empathethic might exist but I haven’t read it so I can’t recommend it. I also think that for personal improvement is better to talk to as many people as we can that have different experiences. It’s always better to learn from others than read it in a book and a lot more informative and fun too.

39. What book that has made you cry??

Most of the Realm of the Elderlings books by Robin Hobb, especially “Fool’s Fate”. Never before I cried that hard because of fiction and I am sort of a crier (or used to be before this book broke me). There are more books that made me cry, but besides that only “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” by Taylor Jenkins Reid comes to mind and I didn’t cry that much.

Lol. This is really confusing people huh? It's not my job to confront every single one of the people who follow or interact with my blog. It's not worth the mental stress/drain nor the physical panic I'd get to confront literal strangers over the internet. I am trans myself and I make a point of talking about trans issues, and stating clearly that I don't support transphobia. If someone chooses to follow my blog then I won't stop them-- regardless of any harmful views they have. I only block when people start sending/spreading hate on my blog.

This is because 1. I get a lot of notes and it's hard to go through every single one of my followers. It's not like Tumblr stops anyone from following me. And 2. So long as they aren't sending hate there is a chance something I post might get them thinking and help change they're views. I always give people the benifit of the doubt especially online where it's easy to misunderstand tone and wordings. If they want to read my shit then so be it. Why the hell should I stop them? Unless they are sending hate or threats then why not give them a chance to be exposed to other viewpoints that could help get them thinking?

And finally most importantly 3. It's literally fucking tumblr. I am not friends with my followers. I don't know them. And I got a whole ass life to worry about rather than worrying about who is following me. Believe it or not, but it's not that important to go through and sort every single one of your followers. If you want to than power to you. But most people don't and thats perfectly valid. My blog is literally just a blog. It's not that deep. I'd much rather address transphobia with someone I know irl because I actually know what kinda conversation would work to help change their mind than a stranger online who would just be angry and defensive.

SUMMARY: it's not my job to police who follows me nor do I have the energy to sort through every single one of them to see. I'm not comfortable going out of my way to confront strangers over the internet. And if being exposed to my posts might help change their views then I won't stop them from following me. I only block when they start spreading hate or threats on my blog or they go out of their way to harass others.

Zp Headcanon: Who the hell is Elijah?

Hello Internet! Welcome to GAAAAAAAY THEORY- ok, that's enough of referencing MatPat for this week.

Anyway, guess who's doing something that they haven't done for a year? ( yeah, it's been that long, binch)

@obsessedpikachu suggested that I do a Headcanon, so if you love this post, blame me for it, and if you hate it, blame her for it. (Jk, buddy. Love you 😄)

Something that I've secretly been keeping in my back pocket for a while is the question of who Elijah is. By that, I mean what purpose does he serve? Why is he here? What's his game plan, what's the deal?

First, let's go over what we know. Originally, Eli was green, emo, and was called Eiglet. He was initially created by Dollcreep, and later adopted by Vivz. If you would like to see some of Vivz's artwork of Eiglet and even his early character sheet, I would recommend going to ZikkaFriday's account as that's where I found a lot of that stuff. Personality wise, Eiglet appeared to be something of a goofball not unlike another character, Damian. The two were close friends, and they would basically act like idiots together.

Elijah seems to be at least similar in personality. He's a tall, friendly goof who works at a diner (supposedly as a waiter I believe), draws cartoons and does silly stuff online and irl. One obvious difference is the albino thing. I'm not quite sure how that's going to factor into the story. I also believe that his relationship with Damian may be different. See, his character sheet states that he's shy around crushes and in her post summarizing ch.5 of Zoophobia, Vivz mentioned that he had some "relationship/attraction " to Damian.

Oh yeah, did I mention that him and Dame as a couple is a thing?

See, this is where I started to become intrigued. Damian, as we know, is an important character, or at least on the same or similar level of importance as Jack or Zill. Pairing him with some random hipster snake seems... honestly kind of random. Like "idk, I guess he needs a love interest, here have a pinky boi".

But why though? As some people who, like me, have obsessively combed through all of Vivz's stuff at least once, would know; there are other characters Dame could be paired with. Like, say, Ink, or Christopher. Both are characters Vivz had considered potential partners for our favorite hell spawn. And they aren't the only ones. Addi, Sahara, even Rusty have been considered.

So why would this guy be chosen?

Look, I'm not saying that Eli is a bad character, but surely if he's getting paired up with someone who's a part of the main cast, surely he must have something to bring to the table. But looking at what is known about Dame, it's hard to say for sure what Eli has to do with any of it. Like, how is Eli really going to contribute anything here?

So how about we talk about that Adina image, eh?

Ok, so Vivz called this particular piece "spoilery ", so we know that it's portraying something that happens in ZP. It shows Eiglet being held captive by Adina. For anyone who doesn't know who this bitch is, her character info can be found on ZikaFriday's account in a reblog. Tldr, she's an evil angel who wants to punish sinners real bad and is set on killing Damian because anti christ.

What can we gain from this? Assuming that this idea is still canon, I've come up with two possibilities.

1. Eli is going to turn out to be a macguffin in order to make Damian sad.

Ok, I personally find this possibility boring. Like, there's not much you can really do with this idea. You take someone who matters a lot one character, and put them in danger in order to make them sad. To be fair, however, this could work if the stakes were put in place and were high enough.

But instead of stretching this post out anymore, let's talk about what is basically the meat of this Headcanon. The real treat, if you will.

2. Eli is/will be working for Adina

Ok, let me explain. I don't think Eli would really be on board with Adina's plans of "let's kill dem sinners", or with killing anyone. I still think that he would decide to work for Adina under certain circumstances. For instance, perhaps he could be working for her out of fear, or Adina could have taken advantage of Eli's kind nature and sold him on the idea by convincing him that "he'd be making the world better for everyone"

Why would Adina want him to work for her? Well, Eli seems to be a really swell guy, doesn't he? He might seem appealing to Adina as someone with a "pure soul ". Or she could have recruited him after he met Damian because of their relationship.

What would happen because of this? Again, I doubt Eli would be entirely on board for killing anyone. Especially someone close to him. This could actually give a little more purpose and consequence to Damian having a "dark side " as Adina could use it as evidence that Damian is the embodiment of sin. Of course, Eli would probably still want to see the good in Dame no matter what, but the whole dark side thing would at least give the some pause.

It would also be one heck of a plot twist, admittedly. Out of all the characters in ZP, Dame's life is in danger from a pink hipster snake who he occasionally uses as a chair.

I personally think it'd be a fun idea, but what do you guys think? Let me know, and please tell me if you'd like more Headcanons in the near future.

The long hair and stuff I know, but from experience people on the internet can get really investigative an I wouldn’t put it past someone to go “hey this person looks familiar” and figure it out—idk just thoughts 1/-

2/- SAO talk: I know players being motivated by greed is a very big thing, but also some people get really into being the best person they can and the quest being presented as “my fiancé ran away” seems suspicious? Maybe that’s just me, if I were playing—wondering if there are people who think so too and if there’s a group who would be motivated to find Tatiana and /help/ her instead of returning her?

3/- SAO moar (srry): Going off of the idea of Tatiana escaping (“leaving the safety”) being suspicious, when Kirito learns fo this would he try to use this to his advantage and offer a “secret” quest where you instead help him and take down Oberon? Or would he be up front with sympathetic players and try to convince them that he’s not an NPC but a trapped SAO player?

4/- SAO: Alternative question—has Sugou outright blackmailed Asuna to marry him, threatening Kazuto? Or did he and I’m just dumb? Or does he find this way just altogether more appealing (creep)? Other question—is there not a “look up player/add friends” function? I don’t expect this to work for Kazuto but I was just wondering so that other SAO players could connect and team up.

Okay I'm gonna do a list cause there's a LOT

1) kazuto is indeed recognized! It's a big point in the final chapter--he can't go anywhere without being recognized and attacked. And, well...in canon nobody recognized Asuna once her photo got out. And in this, the only picture every single ALO player has seen is the one where they don't see his face. So Kazuto is being recognized, and quite frequently. But IRL, Asuna and Agil have already contacted other SAO survivors and they're trying to figure out what's happening and how he's in another game--and if that means other SAO players are trapped in the game as well. Where I'm at right now he's trying to find someone to talk to, in an attempt to get them to tell the police what's happening. Unfortunately everyone he's run into wants him for the quest. But yes!!! There are people who aren't comfortable with the "my fiancée ran away" story because it has a lot of red flags. Like. A lot. Kazuto just... hasn't met them yet, because overwhelmingly the population don't think that way.

2) the quest thing is...actually a pretty good idea and I'll likely use that at some point! :D

3) sugou is trying to threaten Asuna with Kazuto, yes. I haven't written it, but he is holding the fact that he's the one paying for the advanced treatment over her head, and that once the government stops paying for his treatment, if she doesn't agree to marry him, he will stop paying. She's between a rock and a hard place and she's really trying to not think about it??? He's also going through the "official channels" like her parents, but as the second chapter said Asuna has run away. They're still her legal guardians but she has ran away and they don't have easy access to her. Sugou knows that Asuna is strong willed, and although he would like to use her despair over Kazuto disappearing, he knows that instead of making her brittle and break, it would only make her stronger. So: blackmail/threatening it is

4) yes there IS a friend system! Kazuto doesn't have access to it, and his system ID was removed from every friendlist, but there IS a friend system. But...the SAO players in the game, as far as I know, are unaware they're in a game. And the IRL SAO survivors can't bring themselves to actually put on the Nervegear. You have to remember that they were in SAO for two years and are traumatized. Asuna, and in canon Kazuto, couldn't touch their Nervegears, and only did so when they felt they had no choice.

5) gisjfkkask I'm happy you like my writing so much!!!! I'm very excited to write the final chapter of this fic, Kazuto was just...being very, very annoying, and stubborn, and not cooperating with me. But this did help me, so thank you for all the asks!!!
