Imagine an afternoon where all of your favourite writers on Tumblr are hanging out together discussing ideas, and an ensemble fic comes to fruition! How’d that go...
Well in my mind, it is a huge group because I have a lot favorites. And then a little story tendril comes up and then another. And another. Little groups are splitting off to work on stories. I am going to keep this to the Hiddleston fandom, but I assure there are other fandoms in other rooms in this scenario.
The biggest amount of groups is Loki.  At least two are writing “fix-it” fics. Another group has decided PWP taking place on Asgard while another is writing a fluff pic taking place in the Tower. Sharp little comebacks are being traded to go into the story.  One person is flipping knives while another is discussing how the Tesseract works.
The Tom writers have congregated to the middle of the room so they can watch all the other groups as well.  There are is Professor AU being written, along with some mutual pining.  At least one group is doing a historical AU and bedsharing is coming up a lot.  Several groups have pulled up either old YouTube interviews or is researching Shakespeare quote to put in their stories.  There is a lively discussion as to what color Tom’s hair will and the condition of his facial hair.  One group is laughing maniacally as they watch the Jaguar commercial for the twentieth time and google “car sex”.
And then the smaller but still important groups:
- The Thomas Sharpe groups:  There is a rousing discussion over undergarments and how historically accurate these fics should be. Lots of research about London and Britain as well as New York, Chicago, and other metropolitan cities.  The hardest part is what to do with Lucille.
- The Magnus Martinsson group: A small group but they are feisty.  Loud discussions about whether the hair is flaxen or golden and how curly is too curly.  They are googling lots of police procedural information.  There is some disagreement as to Magnus’s prowess with the ladies.  So the group divides, one making him surprisingly adept while the other inept.
- The Adam group:  Trying hard to come up with synonyms for “brooding” and “dark”.  They are googling lots of music and science references.  They all agree Adam should be shirtless pretty much the entire fic.  There is a small section that is writing a romantic Adam x Eve story.
- Conrad group:  Pre-island or post-island is the biggest question.  As is whether James should be wearing a tight t-shirt or just none at all.  There is one modern AU while the other is closer to the canon timeline.  enemies to lovers is definitely playing a role.
- Pine group:  The biggest question is how many countries is this story going to take place in.  They are researching lavish hotels in far flung places as well as espionage terms and even a few weapons.  There is one group that has decided to write him as Jack Linden.  All of it very hot and very sexy.
- Hal/Henry group: The biggest question is how close to reality to make this.  And what exactly is everyone wearing under those dresses and armor.  And often should we quote Shakespeare?
The coffee flows like wine and the wine like coffee.  There are desserts and sweets as well as more savory snacks.  The room is filled with laughter and people are sharing ideas and dialogue back and forth.  There are plotters helping pantsers with their plot holes.  And pantsers tell plotters not to be slaves to the outline.  The researchers are furiously typing on their phones searching how long does it take to travel from London to Italy in 1895 or what does the coffee taste like in Greece.  At the end, the fics are edited and uploaded with everyone as authors and we all settle into big beanbag chairs with drinks and popcorn for a Hiddles marathon.
And thank you Nonny, for such a lovely question.  I am sure you did not expect such a long answer.  But this would be delightful.

Discerning Anon
Hi Anna!
New promotion event for The Current War – Michael Shannon and the director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon will be doing an interview at the 92Y after a preview screening on Oct 20th.  92y.org/event/the-current-war
Before the scandal, many HW productions would be previewed at 92Y before the Oscars. This is where The Imitation Game was previewed with BC doing the interview, a night before the NYC premiere where Weirdo made her US red carpet and engagement ring debut, wearing the same dress she wore at the London premiere.
I’m going because along with being a fan of MS I would really like to hear what the director has to say about this version of the film, being that I have seen an earlier cut.
But why isn’t BC who has top billing doing this? He’ll be in NYC then for a morning show appearance with MS, or maybe he’s appearing via satellite. If he is in town, I suspect BC will also be seeing Hiddles who is currently performing on Broadway (and in my little opinion does a fantastic performance). Nanny overload for sure if they both walk out the stage door together!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Knowing that you’ve seen The Current War the first time it was being edited by Harvey Weinstein, yours is the opinion on the film I’m most interested in Discerning Anon.
They have finally re-announced a release date for the Greek market for the 24th of October.  Hopefully this time it will actually hit cinemas, and I’ll be able to draw a conclusion of my own about it.  Going by the reviews the director’s cut is getting, I’m not very optimistic I’m afraid   :o/

" I had a girlfriend at university, she studied French and Italian, we were dating for some time. And her study included living and working in Paris for 6 month. She asked me to go to Paris on weekend with her and help to settle down. I told her that I couldn’t because I had a very important audition which I couldn’t shift. To tell the truth my movie career was depended on this audition in that moment. I was told to come there on Saturday evening and if I hadn’t shown up I would have never got my hand near it. On Saturday I was on my way to the studio but I turned around in the last moment and went to King’s Cross, took the “Eurostar” and darted to Paris. Of course, I decided to come as a surprise and while riding I stayed connected with her friend. At last I was in Paris and by her friend’s tip off I found them in the Luxembourg Gardens where they were buying an ice cream…My girlfriend was standing in front of a stand with different flavours of ice cream and couldn’t decide which one to choose. I came, stood up behind her and gently whispered: “It’s a hard choice, isn’t it?” My deed was even too romantic as my girlfriend had almost fainted from fear. "

Interviewer:
" If you were taking a date out in London on Valentine's Day, where would you go? "
Tom Hiddleston:
" Well now that would be telling, wouldn't it? I think if you're going to be conventionally romantic you've got to go all the way: a beautiful dinner somewhere lovely, with boat-loads of flowers, chocolates and champagne. But it might also be nice to wrap up warm and sit on a roof somewhere, with a cup of hot soup and your girl, watch the planes come in over London and listen to the night. "
