Ok but what if reader is just an ordinary gal with soft spots and cellulite and average hobbies nothing extraordinary about her and dream is just enamored with her nonetheless but she doesn't understand why?

And she feels self conscious in comparison to literal goddesses and gods so dream makes sure to get her to understand that she.is.everything to him and loves everything about and on her?🥲

You leaned on the railing on the balcony outside of your bedroom in the Dreaming. Your mind was restless tonight, or you supposed all day. You had recently met with Calliope. She was gorgeous, an obvious goddess by a single glance. She was kind, sweet, and perfect. And you simply hated the thoughts which plagued you soon after meeting her. It wasn’t her fault, it was your own insecurities. Yet, they stirred to life by one conversation with her, and one question you were left with.

Why did Dream chose you?

Dream was a god; no, he was beyond gods and goddesses. He could chose anyone, he could be with anyone. But, somehow he stayed with you.

A mortal.

A nobody.

“Hello, my love.”

An arms curled around your waist. Dream softly kissed your shoulder before resting his chin on you.

“… hi,” you whispered, somewhat solemnly.

Dream immediately clocked your bitter mood. Of course, he would. He was very perceptive when it came to you. He carefully twisted you around, scanning his eyes over you.

What was wrong? Was it so obvious?

“My sweet, what troubles you?” He asked.

You shook your head, dropping your head, “It’s nothing.”

He lifted your chin up. “It is something. Now, please, tell me. What troubles your mind?”

Your face twisted into frustration only to drop with a heavy frown. Just say it. “… what … what do you see in me?”

“Pardon?”

You huffed, breaking free of his grasp. You marched a few paces from him. Crossing your arms, protecting yourself, you repeated, “What do you see in me? I’m not a god, I’m not some fae, I’m not … anything. I’m just a boring, plain mortal.”

Dream frowned.

“You could do so much better … you deserve better,” you mumbled the end part of your sentence.

Dream’s eyes flared. A guttural anger burst to life. He swiftly closed the gap, cupping your face. “My dear, I will not take such blatant disrespect for the one I cherish deeply.”

Your eyes widened.

“You are perfect just as you are, you needn’t be spectacular, you needn’t be a god, you only need to be yourself because that is who I fell in love with.”

Tears prickled in your eyes. You squirmed under his intensity. “But - but … why? Look at me, Dream. I’m not -“

“Not what?” He seethed slightly. “You think I don’t adore you and your body? Have I not ravished you for nights on end? Does that not prove my absolute adoration for you?”

You flushed. “I - I … well …”

Dream’s eyes softened. “My dear, my sweet beloved, I love you for you. I always will, and nothing will change that.” He took your hand, placing it over his heart. “This is yours, always.”

Tears slid down your face and mumbled, “I’m sorry.”

He wiped away the tears, “Don’t be.”

You wrapped your arms around him, drawing him into a crushing hug. You buried your face into him. You sighed heavily, letting him consume you as your tears dried. You were his heart, but he was your home. Everything was right with him around.

Dream smiled, holding you tightly. “Never change, my heart. You are perfect.”

Oh! I have seen them before somewhere. Honestly? Kinda look wicked, as in cool.
