Hi! I've been a follower of your work for a couple of years now and I love it, it disturbs and comforts me at the same time.

After I put your books on my wishlist, a family member bought me them for Christmas. I read Ocean of Milk first, and I enjoyed it though I wish it had gone on longer- it felt like so much more about the world could have been described. Your world-buillding is very descriptive.

I am currently in the middle of The New and Used Ford Mercury King of Defiance and I am loving the characters of Lucia and Karen. Even when you describe the mundane actions, it feels right.

May I ask what your inspiration was for both books?

I'm glad you enjoyed the books! :D Writing novels is a hugely time-consuming task, and I think my frustration with that process did lead me to rushing Ocean of Milk a bit, unfortunately. It would be kind of nice to do a better fleshed out version, but I don't want to just rewrite the book. Maybe if I adapted it to some other medium, but I don't find that story conducive to 3D rendering so I'm a bit at a loss as to what the adaptation would be.

My inspiration for Ocean of Milk stemmed from trying to tie together a few different dreams I had into a coherent narrative so that I could recreate the feeling I got from those dreams in a more concrete form. My inspiration for tNaUFMKoD was a combination of me trying to recreate the profound bad vibes I get from car dealerships and me being frustrated with other people's interpretations of "shadow people" and wanting to do my own version of that.

Host 1: Hello and welcome back to another episode of 'Ghost Stories'. Your friendly podcast where we talk about all things spooky and mysterious in Lucis. My name is Idona.

Host 2: My name is Silvestre, and if you actually call me that, good on you. Today's episode is especially spooky, since it takes places in our own wonderful crown city Insomnia.

Idona: Uuuhhhhhh. I always love those.

Sil: Yeah. One would think we would get more of those, but apparently our dear listeners like to hear about the outside world.

Idona: Which makes episodes like this all the more exciting!

Sil: Absolutely. I mean, who would want to hear about the outside, if you have such a treasure trove right in front of your doorstep? Do you know how old Insomnia is? Older than dirt. It always makes me wonder how many stories are really buried here.

Idona: You know, current theory is that Isnomnis is most likely older than Lucis. Dear old Somnus probably saw a reasonably sized city and renamed it.

Sil: Huh.

Idona: Anyway! What's the story that has been brought to us this time?

Sil: Oh, it's great. You're gonna love it. Ghosts in the old aqueducts!

Idona: A proper ghost story! How wonderful. It's been so long since we've had one of those.

Sil: The last Insomnian ghost story we talked about here was the one with the red capped spirits that steal people away, right? Or was it the one about the guy who turned up a hundred years ago with no identification papers whatsoever, spoke only a strange dialect of Old Lucian and then vanished without a trace?

Idona: I think it was the latter. Still convinced the other one were just weird debt collectors.

Sil: Probably, yeah. I mean all of their known victims were poor people with huge debts, so...

Idona: Still a crime though.

Sil: You know, we should probably get started on this week's story. Otherwise our runtime will only be filled with senseless ramblings.

Idona: Sil, our runtimes are always filled with senseless ramblings. But take it away.

Sil: Okay, so. This story came to our ears thanks to one of our listeners. She wishes to remain anonymous, but she wrote us that her cousin works for the WSD, the Water Sanitary Department for those who don't know. Said cousin is responsible of keeping the old waterlines up and running.

Idona: Wow, stop. Are you telling me that we aare still using those? The youngest ones of the old waterlines are at least a thousand years old! At least!

Sil: Well, the old Lucians must have builld things to last. And if it ain't broke, why fix it?

Idona: You just sounded so Leidean.

Sil: Why, thank you. My ancestors would be proud. So, Anon's cousin is down there, doing his job of looking at stones as old as dirt to make sure nothing will come crumbling down, when all of a sudden he heard a strange noise.

Idona: Was it voices? It's always voices.

Sil: Got it in one. The cousin heard voices whispering in strange tongues. Of course he goes closer, since no one but him is supposed to be down there. Gotta warn those people away and all that. But as he walked around the corner, his torch goes out and he hears a strange humming.

Idona: Go on. This is getting good.

Sil: Just wanted to see, if you had something to say. Anon's cousin is understandably freaked out by all of this. But still he calls out, because he just knows someone is there. Which is when he starts seeing strange, glowing shapes in the pitch dark.

Idona: I wish I had been there! This is turning out to be one of the most amazing eyewitness accounts for ghostly activity!

Sil: Yeah, but sadly there's not much more to it.

Idona: Awww.

Sil: Because at this point Anon's cousin runs back the way he came, totally freaked out by all of this. Thankfully his torch turned back on not long after and all he had was a shock and a few scrapes and bruises from running in the dark.

Idona: That's a relief.

Sil: You don't look relieved.

Idona: Well, he could have at least tried to communicate with the ghosts. Just imagine what we might have learned from them!

Sil: Or Anon would now have a dead cousin.

Idona: Or that, yeah.

Sil: But we're still not quite at the end of this little story. One day later Anon's cousin comes back to the place with two others. They find nothing there but some freshly carved symbols on the wall.

Idona: What did the symbols look like?

Sil: Here. Anon's cousin copied them down for us.

Idona: Huh. I feel like I've seen those before.

Sil: What? Really?

Idona: Yeah, I mean, my mum is a historian specialising in Insomnia's earlier history. She's been trying to get permission to go to the lowest levels for basically half her life now, but gets denied every time. Apparently it's too unsafe down there. I feel like I've seen something similar to those symbols in one of her books before.

Sil: You know, hearing that, I can't help but wonder how safe the structural integrity of Insomnia actually is.

Idona: Oh Astrals, don't make me think about that! This gives me some real existential angst.

Sil: ...

Idona: Now you get it.

Best story teller ever, whether its scary or happy he has a new genre everyday and will act out the most important plot points and do all the voices by himself if he has to

Such a good convincer, makes tsukki bring over yamaguchi for a playdate w him and his cgs, even convinces akaashi to take them all to the park

Wants to do so much stuff he can't sit still at all unless it's for a super interesting movie and even then he's sitting upside down, fidgeting w a stimtoy

Unless he's absolutely drained and yawning and whining so much that he has to be put to bed which is actually a fairly common occurence because his battery drains very spontaneously and very quickly after they did stuff w other people because he just gets so excited and burns through his energy quickly

If he's not had a fun day he'll be wound up and won't go to sleep or take naps so he and akaashi will put on some music and play i spy with my little eye with him until he's calmed down enough to at least try

They do end up falling asleep on top of each other a lot, akaashi makes himself sleepy when he's relaxing w bo, it's kind of a recharge for him too

Bo will also fiddle with random household objects like a spatula or scissors which can sometimes be dangerous becaus he's not very aware of holding them and he's also quite clumsy and likes to run so akaashi hides the scissors and gives him his plushie instead but it doesn't take long before bo finds something else to carry around

Loves getting gifts, will yell how much he loves it but he hates getting them for other people even if he rly loves them because he always starts to worry if they'll hate it. so when he's drawing and wants to give it to akaashi for example he tends to overthink that

Blanket hoarder, this correlates directly to buillding forts and bokuto will also transform himself into a burrito topped with a weighted blanket for maximum comfort

Floor time makes him a happy little guy

So I'm playing stardew valley while sick right? And I'm upgrading some of my animal builldings, and while I intended to upgrade just my regular barn into a big barn, I realized I actually had all the money materials, etc to get the Deluxe Coop instead.

Now, just so you know, I'm doing a remixed bundle playthrough so I dont need goat cheese, duck feathers, etc. as those bundles have been replaced with others. So whether I get the Deluxe Coop vs the Big Barn is based more on what will become available to me as a result rather than what it unlocks.

So, like, since this is a chill playthrough (as in I'm not rushing to complete the community center, get all the upgrades, 100% the game, etc) and I'm not really bothering with farming much (did a bit of a challenge where I cant buy stuff from Pierre save for a few recipes, the bag upgrades, and maybe a bouquet if I decide to marry AND I'm using the forest farm) I figured it wouldn't hurt to put it to a vote and see what yall think.

I'm currently in Winter of the 1st year, my pickaxe is being upgraded to iron atm, I ended up with the master fishers bundle (so yknow finishing off that fish tank is going to take.... time). I have a full heart cow and 2 full heart chickens, etc.

So with that in mind;

Does this mean that you don't condemn ship Roche/Ciri?

I don't condemn any Ciri ship. (I don't condemn any ships, not really.) There are few ships I don't like (Mistle is the main one, because I don't really enjoy the dark period of Ciri's journey) and there are ships that I think need a good backstory to work. (I know a thing or two about that - I wrote Ciri/Regis, after all.)

To me, Ciri/Roche falls into that category, as there are so many moving parts to their potential relationship: Ciri as a witcher? How does Emhyr fit into the story? Ciri as an empress-to-be? Ciri in Cintra? How does Roche fit into the picture? How did they meet, grow close? There's so much potential here, and I'd love to read a story that explores the beginnings of their relationship. I read the one story that's on AO3 (the only one, to my knowledge?) and I enjoyed it, but it didn't really answer any of the questions regarding the big picture. 😊

The thing with me is that I'm a big supporter of books and games canon; but show me a well plotted story that makes Ciri's path and growth believable, with or without a ship, and I'm sold. Give me a captivating story, and I'm in. Ciri/Morvran, Ciri/Olgierd, Ciri/Avallac'h, Ciri/Eredin, I'll read them all. Ciri/Cahir, Ciri/Cerys, I wrote them myself. So no, I don't condemn any ship. I just love a well told story that fits into the canon, or buillds upon it.

30 Juli 2022 Lördag Cleaning my friends kitchen while they are on a house meeting in the garden, deciding about the future buillds. We go to the nearby lake, for a short swim and body clean. Lunch, and playing with all of the kids in the water. I get a different parent as company on the walks to and from the lake each with its own good conversation. So many small and big moments just linking together creating a strong urge to just be here. The time spent here has sparked something deep in me.

I'm asking Tiggi about the moment where she and Fi confessed their love! Did they ask each other out? Did they just kiss? Where did it happen!?

Tiggi: That was the craziest evening in my life. Everything happend in Qibbu's Hut on Coruscant. It almost ended with me killing Fi and Kal killing me for that.

I think Fi began to feel jealous when he saw me playing a quetarra and singing with Mereel. And because I instantly befriended Corr and took care of him and used my contacts to help him get better prosthesis... I guess that motivated Fi to just come straight to me in front of everyone and confess his love to me. I said that I'm sorry but I don't feel the same towards him.

That was a lie. It was a torture to see how my answer broke Fi's heart but at that point I wasn't ready to be in another relationship. What happend when I was a teenager... It left too deep scars.

So he went to his room and I left through a window. I sat on the ledge of the buillding wondering how long I would be falling down the Coruscant's canyon if I tied my wings. After a while Fi joined me there. As I learned later Etain and Darman motivated him to try again. This attempt didn't last long because Kal got mad at Fi for risking his life like this and told him to come back inside. While coming back Fi fell down.

It all happend so fast I don't remember the moment I jumped after him. He was too heavy for me to lift him up but I managed to slow down his fall and drag him to the window on lower level of Qibbu's Hut. My wings hurt a lot but at least he was safe.

We were sitting on the floor heavy breathing when he asked: ,,Why did you save me? I thought you don't love me..." ,,Of course I love you, you di'kut!" I answered and explained why I can't be with him. I thought he will still try to make me change my mind but he didn't. He thought over my words and said that he understands. That he wants to beat the osik out of the guy that hurt me. And that we can still be friends if I want. And that he will wait until, maybe, oneday I'll feel ready. And he smiled but so so sadly. And he started leaving. Something broke inside me. I didn't want him to leave. And guess what? I changed my mind. I decided to give him a chance. Fi probably should say that he doesn't want me anymore after all of this but he just exploded with happiness. He grabbed me in his arms and started spinning around.

The moment was ruined by Ordo and furious Kal finally finding us. Skirata yelled at both of us for what we did but for some reason let me be Fi's girlfriend. But he gave me the Second Big Talk with bonus about what will happen to me if I ever dare to hurt Fi.

So yeah... That's how it was. As for Vau reaction, he just said with raised eyebrow: ,,Kids nowadays have really strange ways to confess love".
