[images ID: three images of a comic titled "one must imagine sisyphus happy" by druid-for-hire. it is a visual narrative beginning with someone with wrist pain (depicted by bright orange nerves) working at a drafting table. the reader is shown the same wrist as the person uses it for many everyday tasks such as carrying a grocery basket, pushing elevator buttons, typing, and doing dishes, until the pain dissolves all the panels into chaos. the person then performs several physical therapy exercises until the pain subsides. they sit back down at a desk with their laptop, sigh, and begin typing. a small spark of pain reappears. end id]
a fun little piece i made during the semester and submitted into our school comic anthology! (which you can buy at the Static Fish table at MoCCAFest in NYC ;] ). it's about artists and injury

to anyone who draws and experiences wrist pain like I do i. I figured out the blindspot to solving the pain. maybe this is obvious but whatever. im honestly I'm frustrated at myself for not knowing sooner bcs I was an athlete for so long. but what always confused and frustrated me was that no matter how much i stretched the pain wasnt going away
people always linked n shared resources to stretches and it'd give me temporary relief but not deal with the issue especially not any longer than the time it took me to stretch.
u do have to stretch. but u ALSO HAVE TO WORK OUT YOUR ARMS.
the reason we are hurting so much is because that muscle is doing a lot of repetitive and strenuous motion but the whole length of your arms and wrists aren't strong enough to withstand that much work.
u cant just stretch. buy a set of light-ish weights and just pick a set of wrist and arm workouts u like. do them often. stretch and do those work outs. i really dont even think it matters which you do I do a combination of this and this
just pick ones u like that are good for you, working out can be fun and not miserable i promise. do it. save ur wrists. my life has changed, i still feel pain but ive been able to work and not be ready to cry the next day from daring to try

just kinda a thing i wanted to say since ik i have younger artists following me (its applicable to everyone really, but very important to form care habits as early as possible)
i read about others artists experiencing pain from overworking and i always thought to myself, i wouldnt let that happen to me, im real young, i still have time before i have to worry about really damaging my body
but your body really doesnt care, if you push yourself, if you ignore the pain, its going to fuck you up. maybe for the rest of your life
please god take care of yourself when you draw, write, game, literally anything. stretch your wrists, fingers, dont keep your elbow in a locked a position for too long, especially dont lean on your elbows. get up around every 45 minutes, drink water, eat food, use the bathroom, stretch your whole body and your hands again. walk outside and let your eyes readjust
your body is trying to communicate with you for a reason when you start hurting, please listen to it, be kind to yourself, you deserve it

Bodies and Souls- part 2/2
(Part1)
A little explaination below
This is based of the theory that Yuuji's cursed technique is the ability to swap souls (therefore swapping bodies, hinted in chapter 222(?) when Yuuji and Kusakabe seemed to have done so while training).
Yuuji uses this to swap souls with Megumi to get him out of there, and takes control of Sukuna's body because his soul is stronger than Sukuna's body (shown in the story previously with Suguru taking over Kenjaku momentarily, and Toji taking over that Grandson dude's body when brought back, both in S2).
Just incase it didn't make sense the person in page 3 is Megumi in Yuuji's body after the swap and the second last one is yuuji's soul.
Oof I've had this theory literally since jjk222 but wasn't sure how it'd play out but now it clicked so I'm glad I was able to make this heh

Oh...the reason why Neuvillette and Wriothesley are self sustaining units is because they've gone so long without relying on others for their general wellbeing.
How could they? For the Iudex, to let anyone in so easily would be a slap in the face of his impartiality. Even if he was to risk that, who would he even let in? Who would take the time to understand him as much as he tries to understand them? It's better to shut those thoughts and rare, longing feelings away where they'll wash away with the evening rain.
And for the Duke? Relying on another person means he would have to open up again. He would have to trust someone again. It's just...it's not possible. Not to that extent at least. If it was up to him, he'd do everything regarding himself on his own - only helping others that need it. They can hold a small reverence for him. Understand his authority in Meropide. But trust him? He wouldn't fault them for not falling into such a mindset; he himself has rarely allowed it.
For these two, pain is just something that comes with the territory they're in. Someone will always be hurt by their actions - and sometimes they'll end up hurting themselves. But that's fine. They can handle it themselves...can't they?
