i don't know how to fully articulate this but it makes me a little sad every time a video essayist or podcaster just Assumes their audience has Obviously Heard About X and doesn't bother to explain who or what that is... like of course not everything's gotta cater To Me but like let's assume i DO live under a rock (or rather: i'm autistic and european) and have never heard of this musician and have no idea what place they hold in popular media. ok thank you please continue with your essay

#i love the podcast you're wrong about a lot. but #there's been so many times i have dearly wished for a very quick summary of Who Or What The Thing They're Actually Talking About is #i gotta put together through context clues if a person was like. a sports person or a musician or. something else #idk. a lot of the time it's just the americacentrism of it all. #sometimes it's tiktokcentrism. someone who's like ok let's discuss this hotly debated topic and it's something that's completely #unheard of outside of That Particular Sphere #i mean i suppose a lot of posts i write also refer to a whole lotta stuff people have never heard of #but i also don't assume my audience to be familiar with obcure references to norwegian tv shows or whatever

Could start a Blur v Pulp war here but I would argue this: Jarvis looks freakier than Damon but is a more believably sensual person. Stick insect with a gift for seduction, the core of him is sexy despite first glancing impressions. Damon looks like a wet dream but is the true freak between them, in the nonsexual sense. For the most part Damon's actual behaviour on stage is bizarre, manic and aggressively unsexy. In the first half of the decade he's bouncing off the walls and smacking his head around, by the end he's making animal noises and seems like he's one last impulse away from pulling all his eyelashes out or summat.

Does anyone here think Ringo deserves more RESPECT? Cause in most of the Beatles music videos, he literally does shit. John, George and Paul get to use their instruments, why can’t Ringo? I mean come on! He is forced to hold an umbrella and sit behind George with nothing to play with in “Help”. Also in Paperback Writer, he sits there still doing nothing and not getting to play his drums or even hold his drumsticks! Just in the background leaning towards a statue or sitting on ground.🥁

Help, why do those gifs of geno in his blocky-ass suit look like they belong in a video retrospective abt a mediocre russian public school debate team? This is maybe too specific an association but ?!?!?! He’s forgetting the term for “strawman” and just saying “fuck you” in english until a teacher catches on, he only joined the club to appease his mother, he’s wearing the same suit to every event and making off-color jokes about siberians until people forget he is one.

I confess I have no idea what this is talking about, haha :) I will agree though that the suit looks early 2000's.
