Summary: Lan Zhan can only say so much before the words get caught in his throat. He has long learned how to use his words sparingly, how to build enough of a reputation to minimize the use of words, has learned to hide behind little grunts and pointed looks. In contrast, Wei Ying never seemed to run out of words, speaking often and quickly, whatever was on his mind, mumbling equations and theories and his own thoughts as if he had a word quota to meet and exceed on a daily basis. Kay's comments: This story was very cute! For once, I read something that didn't involve any angst - just a cute modern setting Wangxian getting together, lots of fluff and them just being on the same wavelength. I really enjoyed how we first saw an outsider's perspective on their relationship before getting their POVs.

Excerpt: And oh, Wei Ying is amazing. Wei Ying declares his love for Lan Zhan similarly to his first one, like his love for Lan Zhan is integral in his thought process, like it’s natural for him to think that Lan Zhan looked particularly pretty that day, or he liked how the sun hits his eyes. Even when he’s not outright saying it, it’s in the way he speaks up for Lan Zhan so that he doesn’t have to use his own words, when others are too stubborn to pick up the meaning of Lan Zhan’s gestures. It’s in the way he defends Lan Zhan’s silence. It’s in the way he never asks Lan Zhan to change. “Why should he change?” Wei Ying challenged the people that questioned their relationship dynamic. “Lan Zhan talks to me all the time! It’s not his fault you don’t listen!” Because what Lan Zhan couldn’t say, he instead showed it with action. Packed lunches for two, Wei Ying’s favorite chili oil in his bag, carrying his backpack when swim practice gets too much, calls in the morning to make sure Wei Ying is up on time; Lan Zhan poured all the words he can’t say during the day into acts of service, caring for the man who gets too caught up to care of himself.

Hi Bethany! I've been meaning to tell you that I enjoyed your post about going through the rolling stone list of best albums from 2023 and it inspired me to do something similar! I have been listening to a lot of newer genres over the years but moving further from hardcore and metal which are my fave genres and I wasn't too happy with that. The other day I randomly came across a list of best hardcore albums of 2023 and I decided to listen to them all similar to you in hopes of adding more hardcore into my playlists and it's been fun! Thanks for the inspiration! (And thank you also for checking out the spanish albums too. I wasn't expecting you to actually listen to them and I think it's awesome you did!)

hello!! i love this so much?? i feel like an influencer but in a cool way 😎 funnily enough i actually started this a couple of years ago because i felt like i was just listening to the same pop punk/hardcore/metal that i listened to in my teenage years and wanted to branch out! but it really is just a nice convenient way to find new music with no consequences if you don't like it, even if it is in your fav genre because there's always new music that slips under the radar <3

i am a big fan of music in languages other than english and rolling stone does a semi-decent job of including them and (without knowing for sure) i would say spanish is the second most represented language! most of these artists are from south america or caribbean islands but have also seen actual spaniards in the past (rosalia is the first that comes to mind). most non-english albums are from european languages but also get some asian languages as well (mostly kpop and jpop but have seen some south east asian artists) this year's list has had a few african artists but most have been in english (i mentioned mr eazi in my original post and his songs are in ghanian pidgin english)

finally i'm extra glad you sent this because it made me realise i hadn't seen you on my dash for a while and i must have accidentally unfollowed??? stupid ass app sometimes

This song was one of the most successful songs in Catalan last year 2021. It’s an indie pop song about two girls who fall in love and their lives together since adolescence until adulthood.

She kisses her forehead, while in the hospital bed it’s been a while that Jana thinks she’s dying. A little bit more, a third of the jewel is already outside of the temple where life is born. She’s so small and has Jana’s eyes, and when she cries, only Eva smiles. It happens sometimes that some stories have a happy ending.

Neon a question: what genres of music/artists do you think Joe would vibe with?

i think joe is just generally a Music Fan. he has the most eclectic music taste you've ever heard. he'll play classical and edm and hiphop and folk and heavy metal all in a row and give you genre whiplash but enjoy it all equally. in all seriousness tho i think he just loves that music is so accessible now (he wouldn't have been able to listen to this much for so long!! nicky bought him a walkman when they first became a thing and joe carried it with him pretty much everywhere for about a month until it was damaged during a mission). in their safehouses they have various different selections of cds/cassettes/vinyls depending on what kind of player they have. if not joe has a couple ipods dotted around. he just likes music a lot

that being said i think joe likes blends of folk/traditional music or instruments with modern technology + styles especially, because he likes hearing how music grows and develops and how the instruments and styles he's heard for centuries are built on and adapted. (personal favourite examples are release by afro celt sound system which is a neat blend of electronic/celtic/african music and it slaps, literally any mashrou' leila song but especially taxi, shum by go_a and stefania by kalush orchestra. additionally kai tangata by alien weaponry for the maori metal which barely qualifies as an example but its cool and i'm on a roll.) hes also a big queen fan

i cant come up with an actual list because it will be heavily skewed towards me specifically (as a general Music Enjoyer). but yeah joe and music is important to me. i also think he's a big fan of any kind of love songs even the sappiest most terrible one you've heard in your life. he thinks theyre neat
