She’d only been at the party a few minutes when Ryan decided she needed to step outside for some air. She attempted to sit on the front steps, only for her costume to get in the way, causing her to nearly fall over. “Dang it,” she muttered, eventually settling for standing. She let out a heavy sigh, taking a sip of her drink when she saw movement out of the corner of her eye, realizing she wasn’t alone. “Oh crap,” Ryan placed a hand over her chest. “You scared me.”

Jack had looked around the Delta Psi house for Ivy the minute he’d gotten back, eventually determining she hadn’t arrived yet. While he waited, he went to his room to change into his costume. He let out a heavy sigh as he looked at himself in the mirror, cursing himself for not keeping tighter reign over Grant’s choice but hoping Ivy would find some entertainment in it. At the very least, he quickly spotted his girlfriend when he returned to the main floor. “Hey you,” he grinned, pulling her into him and kissing her cheek. “Miss me?”

“... and so I’d like you to join me in raising a glass to Lola and Ollie, who manage to perfectly toe the line between being ridiculously in love and utterly sickening. To the happy couple!” Noah said, raising his glass to conclude his best man speech. As promised, he had stayed sober until after the speeches but he quickly made a beeline for the bar and ordered himself one of the few speciality cocktails that was on offer tonight. As he waited, he turned to the person standing next to him. “Can you believe that Ollie was worried that I’d be wasted and ruin the speeches? I think I did a marvellous job, even if I do say so myself”.

The day had gone by in a flash, really. Lola had started the morning by sneaking a few uninterrupted minutes with Ollie before the wedding party descended on their respective hotel rooms. The rest of the morning had been spent with her bridal party as they all got ready; and before she knew it, Lola’s hair and makeup was done to perfection and she had been helped into her wedding dress. 

All eyes were on her as she walked down the aisle but she barely noticed, unable to take her eyes off Ollie. The vows that they had written themselves brought tears to her eyes and in no time at all, she had promised to spend the rest of her life with him and it was announced that they were officially husband and wife. The guests cheered and laughed as Ollie kissed the bride, her husband kissing her like no one else was present or watching. 

Whilst everyone else went straight to the reception venue, the wedding party stayed on and took some photos before also making their way to the reception. As she hadn’t had a chance to talk to anyone before, during or after the ceremony, Lola decided to make her way around all of the tables to greet everyone and thank them for coming rather than making a beeline straight towards her own seat. “Thank you so much for coming, it really means the world to us that you’re here”.

Halloween had always been one of her favourite times of year so now that she had removed the face mask part of her costume, there was nothing to conceal the huge grin on her face. He’s obsessed with this weird game my husband has on his phone. He’s always stealing our phones when we’re not looking,” she explained. “Anyway, I’m so sorry. Ryan had only just arrived at the party. She pushed through the crowd, most of which was already heavily intoxicated, to get herself a Diet Coke. She poured her drink, holding it close to herself as she glanced around for someone she knew that she could talk to. That was when she spotted Grant struggling at the drink table. Ryan looked to see but, no one appeared to notice or care. With a little sigh, she hurried over to him, catching the bottle he was attempting to pour from just before he’d dropped it. “Here, let me help,” she said gently, pouring a small amount of the alcohol into his cup. Something told her he’d already had plenty. “Did you want something else in there?”

Noah had made his way out into the backyard so that he could smoke a joint, only to see that Hannah was already there. “Hey Callaghan, cute costume”, Noah complimented her. The two hadn’t really spoken since he had extended the metaphorical olive branch so he wasn’t exactly sure if they were on good terms at the moment. Still, he was hoping that the Halloween spirit -- and the copious amounts of free alcohol available inside -- had potentially put her in a good mood. “I was bummed to hear that you weren’t entering the costume contest but let me guess... you didn’t think it would be fair for everyone else if you entered because you’d knock them out of the water”, he teased.
