So I've Decided To Try Being A Streamer

But don't worry, it's not as bad as you think.

Or possibly it's much worse.

I'm not the excitable shouty type, so instead of that, I'm flying about in Microsoft Flight Sim, with a little light pilot roleplay ("Good morning, passengers..." and the like, plus doing my air traffic control calls) and chatting away.

It's relaxed. It's chill. Working through the checklists has been described as "very soothing".

(Oh god I spent so long researching those checklists).

Firefly Air mission to Poland

NATO aid mission to Poland. Firefly Air airline achievement mission with 4 legs. You must be member of Firefly Air to earn this achievement.

Each leg below is approximately one hour in a C17 or A320. There is the opportunity for low level valley flying in 2 legs watch your speed and banking. All flights are VFR with an altitude of 10,000 ft but you can fly whatever altitude you wish.

These flight plans are created with a ‘fly with friends’ theme not precision aviation flight rules. So they are not perfect and you may find glitches depending on your system and simulation setup.

If you fly these legs best to load the flight plan into littlenavmap first. You can then save as a lnmpln file. You can load this file into your LRM route and activate for your flight on fshub. You can also load the lnmpln into volanta. Make sure FSUIPC7 and LRM are running otherwise the achievement legs will not be counted.

I flew all legs of this mission in the RCAF C17 Globemaster at max speed (except the low level valley flights which are best under 220 kts) freeware project by Destroyer121 available here: https://flightsim.to/file/12408/msfs-native-c-17-globemaster

Test

Leg 1: Firefly NATO Poland VFR Casement EIME Mildenhall EGUN.

Your landing rate must be under 500 fpm. 540 km.

Leg 2: Firefly NATO Poland VFR Mildenhall EGUN Ramstein ETAR.

Your landing rate must be under 500 fpm. 730 km.

Leg 3: Firefly NATO Poland VFR Ramstein ETAR Zeltweg LOXZ.

Your landing rate must be under 500 fpm. 680 km.

Leg 4: Firefly NATO Poland VFR Zeltweg LOXZ Deblin EPDE.

Your landing rate must be under 500 fpm. 875 km.

Completed flight should look something like this. Ignore the northern route EGKK Gatwick to EPKK Krakow that was a different mission.

I love flightsimming

It's a lot of good fun managing all the aircraft systems, and doing interesting operations and procedures. And if you're on VATSIM, the mass multiplayer aspect is really rewarding and amazing to think about.

Also the views are amazing.
