I got a semi-weird one for you. Well the question itself isn’t, but it’s the reason. What do you headcanon the Mystery Skulls to sound like/be voiced by?

(I know my answer for Lewis and Arthur and it brings about the reason I ask. When I was first reading One of Us and before I realized this wasn’t the case, I fully thought E, Shaggy, and Arthur retained their original voices during the swap. I eventually realized that’s not what was happening, but the idea did make me laugh because with the exception of Shaggy and Arthur: *no one’s* voice matches their appearance if they swap)

Lmao I knooow. They would sound so funny if their voices sound the same in different bodies. I actually envision them speaking in their own voices when I write them to keep their speech patterns/styles the same. Because you gotta remember: Ricky in Shaggy’s body doesn’t talk like Shaggy. He talks like Ricky using Shaggy’s voice. And Shaggy talks like Shaggy, just using Arthur’s voice. And the same goes for Arthur using Ricky’s voice. Except for ya know - when he’s pretending to be Ricky. Lol

Speaking of, there’s only one actor who I think would be fitting for Arthur.

Adam Sandler.

Lmfao I’m kidding! But could you imagine??? 🤣

Fun fact: Arthur actually does have a voice actor. His voice is heard extremely briefly at the very beginning of “The Future”. He’s voiced by Austin Lee Matthews.

Vivi also has a voice actress, Amanda Kay, though her voice to my knowledge is yet to appear. So idk how she sounds but I imagine Vivi sounding like Charlie from Hazbin Hotel (which you should totally check out if you haven’t seen).

To be honest I don’t have a clear voice in my head for Lewis, so I’ve been using ones I liked from various MSA comic dubs. Like this one:

(This one is super in character and gets me every time but I really need to watch more)

And this is gonna sound dumb but I picture Mystery sounding like Benedict Cumberbatch. Deep voice. English accent. I hear Smaug when he’s in his true form. Especially when he’s angry.

I think I imagine an English accent because he’s intelligent, educated, cunning, wise, and classy, and there’s the stereotype of the British being those things. (Which I know isn’t true and it’s not good to perpetuate stereotypes)

BUT. I have a pretty good head canon as to why the Japanese fox spirit would have an English accent: Mystery first learned English from William Adams, the first English navigator to reach Japan. So even though he’s adopted a lot of American lingo/pronunciation given that most of his actual English speaking has been in America, the accent remains.

god but the implications of what the deadbeats Are, if they’re genuinely created by lewis and not other spirits hanging out with him, are so, so genuinely fascinating and character revealing. lewis is trying to be this hardass revenge-quest antihero, single-minded and dramatic and very very carefully manicured for a specific Image – but then the deadbeats are here. and maybe they’re minions but the way they hang out really does feel like he went “ok but i have to have some company or i will genuinely lose my mind”

Well, this argument makes sense to me and it's something I can (and I do) agree with, both as a fan and putting myself in David's place. I'd have done the same thing, tbh.

There's a huge difference between not being the main character and not even having a bit of development.

Would I have liked that final moment? Sure but I can understand why he didn't do it. And with all the bad blood with Hector it was better a clean break.

After this I'm still pissed with Hector btw because I can see where all the problems with MSA come from.

At least I know what and how not to write uh?
