Note
would you consider writing anything cordelia, ally or wilhemina? anything comforting? I adore your work
thank u sm! i haven’t written them in so long, but i’d love to. i know it wouldn’t get many likes because sarah paulson isn’t as popular here anymore, although, i may write something with wilhemina, like a fluff in the outpost?
if anyone has any ideas, lemme know :)

One-shot
Wattpad
-Winnie, who were you talking to?
-I was making a video call with Y/n but the internet went down.
-I don't like you hanging out with that girl.
-But Y/n is my friend
-Yeah, but she's gay, good thing her parents are dead they are spared the disappointment that their daughter is sick- she angrily blurts out making Wilhemina shift uncomfortably in her place.
-She is not sick, mother
-Enough, we are not going to have this conversation,- she says before leaving the room.
-Winnie,- you shout softly, crawling out from under her bed.
-Shut up
-All this time I've been calling you Mina when I could have called you Winnie," squealing with delight.
-I'm sorry you heard what my mother said,- she apologizes with a sad smile.
-Don't worry, but I have to go- sitting down for a moment on her bed.
-No, she was just being stupid,- he says playing with his cane.
-It's not for that, Miriam is going to bring dinner and she wants me there for when she arrives-, changing a smile.
-All right,- she says with melancholy in her voice.
-I'll see you tomorrow pumpkin,- leaving a kiss on her cheek.
-See you tomorrow Y/n- watching you leave through his window
-I'll let you know when I get there
- - -
-Hello pumpkin,- you say, accosting her in the hallway.
-How many times must I tell you that I hate it when you call me pumpkin?
-But why?- you ask, pouting, -You're small and red-haired, the perfect description of a pumpkin!
-Don't call me pumpkin,- looking at you angrily.
-All right...Winnie,- smiling mockingly.
-You know what? I'd rather you call me pumpkin.
-So what's the plan today pumpkin,- you ask, letting her into the living room.
-I don't know what you're talking about," she answers taking her usual seat.
-Today's plan, did you think I forgot about it?- pulling out a gift for Mina from your backpack.
You see how her eyes light up when she sees you bought her a white dress with purple flowers and fingerless gloves of the same color.
-But how did you get the money to buy this?- she asks playing with the friendship necklace you gave her years ago.
-I have my ways,- you say before the teacher comes in.
-Good morning class
- - -
You imagined it would be Miriam calling you asking if you need anything, but you were surprised to find Mina's name on the screen, when you answer you hear the sadness in her voice as she asks if you can pick her up.
When you arrive you find her crying in the rain, while her clothes are completely soaked and she is holding something against her chest; with your umbrella you protect her from the water while you ask her to get in the car with you.
The ride home is quite silent, you wanted to hug her and know what happened, but you had to pay attention to the road. Wilhemina was just looking out the window hugging her diary tightly.
When you arrive you take her to your bathroom and give her a change of clean clothes, while she bathes you arrange the guest room, you return just as she comes out of the bathroom, she looks so small in your clothes. You hug her and feel her collapse in your arms, she buries her face in your chest as her body spasms.
You move both of them to the bed and rub the arms in circles on her back, you knew about her scoliosis, I had never seen her before but she had told you long ago.
-My parents threw me out,- she says between gasps clinging to you.
-I'm sorry, you'll live here with me...okay?
LET HIM LEAVE, IT'S OK AND YOU'RE SAFE, you repeated those words like a mantra while comforting your best friend, it hurt you too much to see her this way, you had been in love with her since sixth grade and you couldn't stand to see her suffer, but you had to be strong.
At one point she fell asleep and it didn't take long for you to join her.
- - -
-Wake up,- says Miriam.
-What?- you ask with a hoarse voice.
-Can you tell me what's going on?- looking at the redhead sleeping in your arms.
-Give me a minute please,- you say.
You get out of bed being careful not to wake her up and go downstairs to find Miriam in the kitchen.
-So?- she asks, looking at you with a raised eyebrow.
-Do you remember I told you that I like a girl and that this girl happens to be my best friend?
-Well...it's her,- referring to the girl in your bed.
-Congratulations, but no...
-No, she doesn't know,- you interrupt before she says the rest, -her parents took her out of the house.
-Poor girl,- he says with sadness in his voice.
-Yes, yesterday I took your car to go and look for her-, receiving an angry look before this last remark.
-We'll discuss this later,- anticipating the redhead's entrance to the kitchen.
When your parents showed up you were left in charge of your aunt and uncle but they only wanted to spend the money that your parents abandoned you, Miram was your neighbor and you trusted her to be the person who would be in charge of you.
- - -
A month had passed and this had been the best month of your life, living with your best friend was a dream come true, you went to school together, did homework together and sometimes slept together. Today was Friday and Miriam had ordered pizza for dinner.
-I have no idea how I'm supposed to pass the subject if I've never paid attention to the teacher,- you say looking at Mina from your place on her lap.
-I don't understand why you took that subject,- without taking your eyes off her book.
-They told me they didn't do exams, but then they changed the teacher,- you complain, snorting dramatically, -I have to see if my phone is charged.
As soon as you leave the room Mina lets out a sigh, you both had moved to the living room to wait for the pizza, while Wilhemina was reading her book you lay down on the couch and rest your head on her legs, but it was affecting her more than she wanted it to.
The doorbell rings and you yell to Mina that if she can have the pizza, as you open the door the girl's breath catches at the sight of her father.
-You're coming with me,- the man demands angrily.
-I'm not going anywhere with you,- he says trying to sound firm.
-I'm not asking you and mother wants you to come back,- taking the younger girl by the arm with force.
-No...let go of me, you're hurting me,- she says trying to free herself.
-She said to let her go,- he intervenes calling the man's attention.
-You shut up, this is not with you!
You can see the fear in Mina's eyes as she tries to break free from her father's grip.
-If you don't let go this instant I will call the police,- you say trying to help her.
-It's not enough for you to corrupt my daughter,- he says pulling out a handful of papers and throwing them in your face.
-Get out,- you say ignoring the papers and reloading with a taser, pulling Mina out in time.
You put Wilhemina behind you to protect her from the man, you see her raise her hand to hit you, but she is stopped with Miriam.
You see the woman fighting with the man to get him out of the property and you take Mina, she locks herself in her room and no matter how much you knock on her door she doesn't open it.
-Give her time,- says Miriam putting a hand on your shoulder.
You leave Mina alone and go downstairs for some pizza, you find the papers at the entrance, you pick them up, while you take some pizza to your room.
Monday, August 8th
Today I saw the most beautiful girl in my life, she is taller than me, has beautiful eyes and a smile that would light up a room. Apparently she is quite popular and everyone loves her.
Maybe it's not such a bad thing that we moved.
You knew that handwriting, you wanted to stop but you were curious who she was talking about.
Thursday, August 25
Today was the best day of my life, the teacher told us to pair up, no one wanted to pair up with me, two girls were fighting over T/n, she came up to me and asked if she could pair up with me, obviously I said yes.
Of all the people in the room approached me, her "friends" told her not to hang out with me, but she shut them up. She is super cool, smart and cute, I really want her to like me.
Friday, September 16
Y/n said we are friends...some girls were picking on me in the bathroom and she stood up for me, ended up getting grounded after school but she says it was worth it and I quote "I won't let her mess with my friend."
Wednesday, December 14th
Today Y/n didn't go to school, I tried to contact her but it doesn't work, I have a feeling something bad happened to her, I was supposed to confess to her today that I like her, but maybe her not going is a sign about me not saying what I feel .
Monday January 13th
Y/n is finally back, I was so happy when I saw her at school, but something is different, as far as I know she had an accident and was hospitalized all this time. My mother says her parents died in that accident and that is why she is so sad, I wish I could do something for her.
Wednesday, June 21
Y/n came over to my house in the afternoon, we spent them watching our series in my bed, with popcorn, candy and soda. At one point I fell asleep and woke up with her arms around me, I wish I could say what I felt.
My mother came home early from work and I hid Y/n under my bed, she asked who I was talking to and I lied saying I was video calling with Y/n, she heard my mother call me Winnie and then when she left my room she started teasing me calling me Winnie.
As she left she gave me a kiss on the cheek and I couldn't help but blush.
You finish reading the papers and you take in what you just read for a second. During all this year she reciprocated your feelings, the papers are incomplete but the last one is recent.
Tiredness gets the better of you and you go to bed knowing that the girl sleeping in the next room feels the same way about you.
The next morning you wake up at noon to hear someone knocking on your door, with all the sleep in the world you stop to open it and find the redhead.
-Good morning,- you greet with your voice still hoarse from sleep.
-Hello... I wanted to apologize for last night,- playing with the base of her cane.
-It's okay, don't worry about it,- letting her pass.
-Yes...but I- interrupting herself when she sees the papers on your bed.
You look to where she's looking and realize what's going on, you can literally see the walls building up around her.
-I like you,- you say, taking her by surprise.
Your confession causes her walls to shatter in a matter of seconds and she turns to look at you, looking for some sign that you are lying.
-I really like you, all these years I have repressed what I feel for fear of being rejected," you confess giving her a sad smile.
-Really?- he asks not believing what he just heard.
-Of course,- biting your lower lip.
-I...I like you too- blushing furiously.
You see her coming closer to you and you feel your heart going a thousand per second, then there are fireworks, her lips feel so good against yours and even if it only lasts a second, it's as if time had stopped in that instant. You try to chase her lips but at that instant Miriam enters to wake you up, realizing what is happening she apologizes and leaves the room quickly, you are in laughter at having been caught in a moment like this.
-I'll see you downstairs,- says the woman on the other side of the door.

The light within the darkness
Tumblr media
Wilhelmina Venable X reader
Angsty but somewhat fluffy ending. I’m a sucker for angst. Hope you guys enjoy.
Word count- 3409.
Wilhelmina was surprised by you. Perhaps even drawn in by you. You were like no other she had ever encountered before. She was curious about you, but you, just like her, had walls that were not so easily dismantled. She saw small quirks to you. The way your eyes always lingered when an altercation happened in the office, your body tensing and your face holding an unreadable expression.
The way, when it rained, you wouldn’t use an umbrella to go to your car and would just walk at your normal pace, not caring at how wet you got. Or the way when she would insult you, you wouldn’t cry or get anxious the way her previous assistants would. You would just accept the insults she would give you before moving onto your next task.
-
You started as an intern at Kineros Robotics at 20. Slightly younger than her previous interns, yet so much more mature. The first time Wilhelmina had encountered you; you were working under Todd in accounting. Wilhelmina knew of him well, many complaints of his suggestive comments and inappropriate jokes were reported by younger female staff. But Jeff and Mutt had simply told her to dismiss them and although it felt wrong for even her to do, she did so without a question.
It must have been your first week when there was a major mess up down the accounting department and Todd had sent you to go an explain what had happened, warning you of Wilhelmina. You nodded, silent before wandering off. She couldn’t be as bad as the stories had made her out to be.
But as you came to the door of her office, you felt an intense uncomfortable feeling you could not explain. You knocked on the door, waiting for her to call you in before entering.
There she sat, in her chair, a cane at her side and a scowl on her face. Her red hair was up in a tight bun, highlighting her sharp cheekbones and jawline. She was wearing a lilac suit with a white blouse underneath. You were brought back to reality but her speaking.
“Pray, tell me, are you going to announce your presence or are you just going to gape like a fish?” Her cold tone matched with what the others had told you about her and you nodded, not letting her words bother you.
“Ms. Venable, I’m Y/N L/N. Todd from accounting sent me. He told me to explain what has happened.” You responded, your hands at your sides, watching as an irritated expression came to her face.
“Oh? You work for that imbecile? I do hope his brain numbing jokes hasn’t snatched you off your last few braincells.” Her voice hardened with every word she spoke, and you smirked slightly as everything she said was correct. Her eyes caught your smirk. “Do tell me what you find so amusing, Ms. L/N before I make you regret waking up today.”
“Already do, Ms. Venable. However, Todd told me to tell you that the reason this whole mess is going on is because he is experiencing a ‘Technical difficulty’” You air quoted, and Ms. Venable raised her eyebrows surprised by her response and your honesty.
“Oh? And between us, what is the real reason?” Ms. Venable asked, and you smiled, moving your hands to the door.
“Todd may be an asshole, but still is my superior.” You smirked as you left the room, your eyes lingering to hers before pulling the door closed.
She knew then that you were different. You weren’t disrespectful like the others, nor were you stupid. You knew what you could and couldn’t expose.
-
The next encounter was a few weeks later. Of course, you had both passed each other in the hallways but this was different. You were sitting in front of her because Todd had requested you be changed department. He did not specify why but he said it would be more beneficial for you to get experience in another department.
“I would describe it as a pleasure to see you today, but the migraine I have from trying to transfer you to another department says otherwise.” Ms. Venable snarked and rubbed her temples and you just stared at her, you were not quite sure what to say this time, scared of being fired. You needed this job; it was perhaps the most stable one you had in your whole life.
“Well, are you going to explain to me why Todd wants you transferred or are you, once again, going to gape at me like a fish?” Her tone grew harsher, but you didn’t immediately respond. “Well, Miss. L/N, if you’re going to waste my time then—”
You cut her off “Whatever Todd said in that email, I suppose.” Wilhelmina eyed you, before standing.
“Well, I suppose, you could become my assistant on a trial basis. However, my assistants never tend to last long.” Her eyes met your and you nodded before thanking her.
-
Your first week being Wilhelmina’s assistant had been going okay… until today. The delivery that was supposed to happen from the company suppliers didn’t happen and you were stressed, because if you failed this, then you would be out of the door quicker than you could apologize for the mishap. So, you had spent the last hour calling any supplier that could give the same product the same day.
However, unbeknownst to you, Wilhelmina had already received the call from the suppliers letting her know about the failed delivery. Instead of berating you straight away, she decided she would wait for you to come to her.
But as the hours passed, Wilhelmina’s irritation grew. She knew you knew but you avoided her. It was obvious to her now you were like the others, and just as she had picked up the phone to call Jeff and Mutt, you came into the office, with a reddened face and your breath was uneven.
“Ms. Venable, are you busy?” You asked, a nervous undertone in your voice. Wilhelmina smirked, knowing now you had come with your tail in between your legs and now she could finally unleash her wrath.
“What is it you want to tell me, Miss. L/N?” Wilhelmina asked, her eyes looking you up and down. She did enjoy you more than her other assistants and it would be a pity to fire you but you were just like the others.
“A few hours ago, the delivery with our suppliers fell through-“Wilhelmina cut you off, her expression now highlighting her annoyance.
“I am aware. I was made aware Hours ago, and you did not inform me. What were you doing for these past few hours? Looking for excuses to give me? Well, your imbecilic behaviors have cost this company an extreme amount of money. What have you got to say for yourself?” She stood from her desk and approached you, once standing in front of you, her hands rested on her cane.
“I know I should have come to you a lot sooner. But the reason I didn’t was because, I was just on the phone to another supplier. They have the EXACT same product for 33% cheaper. I managed to get a delivery with them tomorrow morning. I know it should have come through today but-“You stopped yourself from speaking any more.
Wilhelmina stood in front of you, with a shocked expression however, just as quickly as it appeared, it disappeared. “How am I supposed to take any word you say as truthful? You could just be saying this and when tomorrow comes, you’ll say this one fell through.”
“Well, the reason I came to you was to get your signature so I could finalize the order. You can look at all the documents.”
Wilhelmina didn’t show you her surprise anymore and instead requested the emails to be sent to her so she could finalize the order you had set up and inform Jeff and Mutt.
-
That was the night when Wilhelmina realized she had an attraction to you. To your brain. But on a Friday night when everyone was leaving the office for the weekend her car would not start. She sighed before getting out and she spotted you approaching her. You must have been her assistant for 3 months now, the longest lasting one and exchanges of first names was now expected.
“Wilhelmina? Are you okay?” You asked, noticing her defeated expression. Her eyes met yours as she shook her head.
“My car won’t start. I don’t know what to do.” She sighed before looking back her car. You moved closer to her.
“It’s too late to do anything about it now, I’ll drive you home and take a look at it tomorrow for you, how’s that?” You asked, moving your hand closer to hers. Wilhelmina sighed once again before looking you in the eyes and nodding. You took the moment to take in the beauty of her chocolate brown eyes and turned around to avoid her seeing you blush.
“My cars just a few lanes over. Come, follow me.” You stated, and began to walk, looking over your shoulder to make sure she was following you. You slowed your pace slightly, so you were now walking next to you and your hands brushed each other’s as you walked together.
As you reached your car, you unlocked it and opened the passenger seat door for her, eyes lingered for a moment too long before she smiled slightly and thanked you. You nodded, getting into the driver’s seat, and beginning out of the car park.
You were nearly at Wilhelmina’s house before you heard her swear under her breath.
“Shit!” was all she whispered, looking frantically in her bag. You looked at her for a second before moving your eyes back to the road.
“What’s wrong?” You asked, slowing the car, and pulling over. Wilhelmina shut her eyes and sighed.
“I left my house keys in my car. Fuck.” There was a frustration in her voice but not the type of frustration you were used to from Wilhelmina. It was also perhaps one of the first time you had seen the woman lose her composure and swear in front of you.
“Do you have a spare outside your house?” You asked, moving your body slightly to look at her, Wilhelmina sighed again before shaking her head. You let out a long breath before finding the only solution you could to this situation. “It’s late already. If we head back to the office, you won’t get home until gone 10. You can stay at mine, and we’ll grab your keys tomorrow while I look at your car.”
Wilhelmina bit her tongue, contemplating demanding you to drive back but decided that this was probably one of the only times you’d spend time out of the office together, so she nodded. “Thank you.”
You started the car engine and began to drive, before looking at her “Don’t worry about it. But I would prefer if you didn’t mention to anyone where I live.”
“I wouldn’t. I’d prefer you didn’t tell anyone I’m staying the night.” Wilhelmina replied, a bit harsher than she intended and you nodded, the rest of journey in silence.
-
When you pulled into your car park, Wilhelmina noticed your flat was in a rougher part of town. You got out of the car and opened Wilhelmina’s door. You noticed how her eyes wandered around the worn-down area but didn’t say anything. You locked your car and wandered to your front door, opening it and allowing her to walk in first before shutting the door behind you and turning the lights on.
You noticed her eyes wandering around the apartment and you raised your eyebrows. “What’s wrong?” You enquired; Wilhelmina’s gaze met yours as she moved to sit down.
“Nothing. It just- not what I expected.” Her honesty threw you and you shook your head feeling yourself growing defensive.
“Excuse me?” You retorted, putting your keys onto the counter, while moving towards the fridge.
“No! I mean, it’s just I thought- I- “You turned back to her and waited for her to finish her sentence. “It’s lovely.”
You smiled at her, finally seeing the humor to the situation. “The place is a piece of shit. But it’s all an intern can pay for so it’s home.”
Wilhelmina looked down at her lap before you poured both of you a glass of water. You passed it to her and sat down next to her.
“I didn’t realize the pay was an intern was that low.” She murmured suddenly, wishing the glass of water was a glass of wine.
“It’s better than what I did before. Plus, it’s steady income, so it doesn’t really matter.” You shrugged. “I’ve lived in worse.”
“You’ve never told me. About you job before this. Or anything about your personal life for that matter” Wilhelmina’s tone was curious and part of you wanted to tell her, but the other part knew that she’d look at you differently for it. You didn’t want to destroy that.
You shrugged your shoulders and crossed your legs on the couch, looking at her with an almost pained expression. It made her want to lean in and take your face into her hands. You didn’t speak and looked down at your hands before taking a sip of your water. “We’ll leave in the morning to sort out your car. I’ll sleep on the couch; you take the bed.”
You shut her out and Wilhelmina, in turn, felt herself wanting to shut you out too. But she thought too much of you to allow that to happen. She wanted you to open up, even if that meant opening up herself.
“I can tell you’ve been through a lot. I see it in the way you tense when someone gets too loud or if someone touches you without asking. Y/N, I don’t want you to think I’d judge you. I know more than anyone how difficult opening up is.”
“I can’t, Wilhelmina. I’m sorry.” You responded another pained expression on your face. Wilhelmina reached out her hand to touch your and you looked up at her not wanting her hand to leave yours.
“I like you, Y/N. More than I’ve ever liked anyone, and I just want to help you. The day you first met me, you said you already regretted waking up. Talk to me, please. Not as your boss, as a friend.”
This was too much for you. Way too much for you. You couldn’t let her see you venerable. You let out a sarcastic laugh.
“I dunno, Wilhelmina, has it ever occurred to you that maybe, just maybe, the reason I tense when someone at work touches me is because I don’t like anyone there?” You were being harsh, it felt so wrong. The sorrowful look on Wilhelmina’s face made you feel a guilt you’ve never felt before but you needed to stay firm. She was being open with you, but you couldn’t allow yourself the same leniency.
“Not even me?” Her face held hurt and you wanted nothing more than to tell her that she was the only person you’d liked that much in a long time, that you felt yourself falling in love with her and you just wanted to kiss her right then and there to make everything go away. Instead, you did what you always did and ruined it.
“I think we should get some sleep.” You muttered. Wilhelmina couldn’t argue. So instead, she just stood, you followed her lead. You gave her some clothes to sleep in, then showed her to your bedroom before turning in for the night.
-
The next morning you drove her to her car, and Wilhelmina pretended not to know that you woke several times the night before, gasping for breath. You pretended that nothing had happened the night before.
When you got to her car, you managed to get it running again. You wished her a good few days off and said you’d see her Monday. Wilhelmina gripped your hand as you turned to walk away and kissed your cheek. You shrugged her off and there was a hurt in her eyes as you left.
It was almost as she expected you to open up right there and then. But you couldn’t.
-
The Monday afterward was different, she was harsher, stricter. Almost as if she had given up on you. You didn’t let her attitude affect you (Correction: tried not). The next day wasn’t much different, harsh words were exchanged and you didn’t understand yet you were somewhat grateful you had managed to push her away. She didn’t deserve to be part of your mess.
It wasn’t until the Wednesday that something had finally changed. Your nightmares were worse the night before and you felt as if you were on the verge of tears the whole day. When Wilhelmina approached your desk, you knew you were done for.
“Ms. L/N, how many times have I told you not to forward calls straight to my office without notifying me first? Are you that much of an imbecile that you can’t even take in simple instruction? I thought you were better than the rest of them, but I must have been wrong. You’re an imbecile. I don’t understand how you can face the day.” Her harsh words and harsh tone were too much. You knew you deserved it for the way you treated her but today was just too much. You couldn’t help the sob that escaped your lips and you stood. You didn’t look up at her, ashamed you were being this venerable around her.
You walked out of the office, tears freely falling and drove home. You didn’t care anymore. You’d ruined everything.
-
That night, there was a knock on your door. Your face was tear streaked but you didn’t care as you opened the door. Wilhelmina saw you and didn’t say a word as she entered, she just shut the door behind her before taking you into her arms. Her cane fell to the floor but neither of you cared and you began to sob hard into her arms. She moved the hair out of your face and guided you to your couch, moving your head into her lap.
You didn’t know how long you both had been sitting like that, with her stroking your hair in silence before you sat up and took her face into your hands.
“I’m sorry. I’m Sorry. I’m sorry.” You repeated, feeling the guilt of everything wash over you. Wilhelmina moved her hands to your face as well.
“Shh. Shh, Y/N. It’s okay. Please, just tell me what’s going on. I want to help you. I-“ Wilhelmina cut herself off and you bit your lip, and Wilhelmina saw you tear streaked face and wished she could take your pain away.
“It’s getting bad again, Mina. So bad. I didn’t realize it at first. Then I met you and were like this light in this darkness and I- I wanted- I wanted you. I wanted to love you. To tell you everything but it’s like anyone I’ve ever told always leaves and I don’t want you to leave, Mina. I love you.” Your voice cracked multiple times as you spoke but Wilhelmina pulled you into her embrace as she stroked your hair.
“Babygirl, I love you too. I’m so sorry I was cruel to you. I didn’t know how to deal with you shutting me out so I was cruel and I apologize so much my babygirl, my darling. But please tell me what I can do to make this go away.”
You pulled back slightly to look back at her. “Please just kiss me, Mina.”
Wilhelmina knew that a kiss wouldn’t make all of this go away but she knew it would comfort you and show her you cared in ways her words couldn’t so she placed her lips to yours and you drew her in like she was the oxygen you needed.
When you both finally pulled away, you clutched Wilhelmina’s hand in yours, afraid she’d disappear if you let go.
“My darling girl, we’ll get through this together.” Wilhelmina stated as she pulled you in for another kiss, and you smiled a small smile, some of the hurt easing because at least now you had Wilhelmina by your side.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was raining when you trudged home from school, sheltered under your umbrella but still shivering with the chill in the air. You supposed it was pathetic fallacy; the grey palette of the skies reflected the dull tones of your emotions as you made the journey home, feeing so tired and so numb lately. School was taking it out of you, and you couldn’t quite put your finger on it, but something was wrong. You were just so drained.
The brightness of the academy stood out amongst the grey around you as you turned the corner at the end of the street. Relief washed over you; school was done with and for just a few hours you were free from the unending obligations you were pulled apart by.
Upon entering, you dumped your bag down at the door and made a beeline for the kitchen, immediately switching on the kettle to make tea; it was your afternoon routine. You'd always make yourself a cup of tea and take one up to your mother in her office, as long as she wasn't teaching. You’d have a little catch up and chat about your days before you went back downstairs to do work in the kitchen until your mum came home. you weren’t blessed with the powers descending from Cordelia, and so you were a student of the school a few blocks away, which left you with mountains of homework to complete each evening.
You opened the door to her office, greeting her with a little smile as you placed down the mug on the corner of her desk, “hello darling, thank you,” she smiled, briefly looking up from her paperwork at you. You shuffled over to the sofa and sat down on it, huffing slightly, “how was your day?”
You thought for a moment on how to respond; you always felt free to complain to your mothers, but you didn’t like to overbear them with your stuff. They had plenty of their own.
“It was okay, just pretty draining,” you sighed, earning a sympathetic smile from your mama as she placed her pen down to focus on you, “draining? How so?”
“Just a lot of work and not a lot of time. Can't keep up.” you mumbled, getting up from the couch to go back downstairs to get on with said work.
“Take breaks honey!” Cordelia called behind you as you left the room, making you smile a little as you descended the stairs.
You were still sat in the kitchen when your mum got home from work, greeting you with a kiss on the head and sitting with you to discuss what you were working on. You watched her go upstairs to shower and change and you saw her come back down alongside your other mother, making their way to dinner with the rest of the girls. You had tried to stay put, hoping you could eat after you were done, but Mina came to drag you away, linking arms with you to walk you into the dining room.
After dinner you were straight back at the kitchen table, trying and failing to catch up with your work, but it wasn’t until later in the evening that you finally sought a real solution.
It was dark outside now and most of the girls were in their rooms. The house was winding down and you were exhausted, energy being dragged out from you each moment you spent fighting sleep. Eventually, you had wandered up the stairs to your mothers’ room, a timid knock on the door and a quiet mumble of ‘come in’ landing you laid across the foot of the bed.
“Hello you,” Mina mumbled, putting her book down to focus on you. She could see the pout on your face and the sigh you released when you laid down told her that something was up with you.
“I’m tired,” you grumbled, eyes closed as you curled in on yourself at the end of the bed.
“Do you want a head rub?” She asked softly, smiling tenderly at you. You nodded in response though made no effort to move, making her chuckle.
“Darling, I can’t reach you there, shuffle up a bit,”
You shifted as little as possible so that she could reach your head easily, not wanting to hurt her back by leaning down to you, and her hand fell to your head.
You closed your eyes, laid next to her as she ran her hand over your head, watching the fluttering of your eyes and the even breathing that rose and fell in your chest as you finally began to relax for the first time today.
The door to the bathroom opened and you opened one eye, watching your mother emerge wrapped in a white towel with a smaller one wrapped around her hair. She stood at the foot of the bed, smiling at you curiously with her head cocked to the side.
“Hi lovely,” she smiled, sitting down on the edge so she could rub your back. Nothing was overtly wrong with you, but both women could sense you were deflated, and it was rare that you came in and sat on their bed without chatting endlessly, so they knew you needed a little extra comfort.
They stayed silent, just holding you close and waiting for you to speak: “I think I need a day off tomorrow.” you mumbled, hiding closer into your mum, scared they would scold you for asking.
“Okay baby we can do that,” Delia said softly, squeezing you comfortingly, “can you tell us why?”
“I’m so burnt out, I’m tired,” you began to cry, and Mina coaxed you to sit up so you could lay against her chest and she could cradle you, kissing your forehead. She looked towards Delia with worry in her eyes, waiting for the supreme to think of a solution.
“Okay darling, tomorrow you're staying home, okay? A mental health day,” your mama smiled, so happy you felt comfortable to talk to them about this.
You smiled at her, relieved that they didn’t push any further for an explanation. You didn’t have to set an alarm tomorrow, or interact with all those people, or worry about your lessons. Tomorrow was yours.
You stayed in their room for a little longer, crawling into bed with your mum while your mama went to the bathroom to change. When she climbed into bed the three of you snuggled under the duvet, watching an episode of a mindless comedy show that Delia had suggested, wondering if perhaps it would get a laugh out of you.
You were leaned back on Mina, her hand in your hair, and your bent knees were laid against Delia, who rubbed your legs gently, giggling to herself at the programme.
When it became too difficult to resist sleep, you kissed them both on the cheeks and bid them goodnight, throwing a shy smile their way as you wandered off to brush your teeth and crawl up in bed, relief washing over you at the realisation that you didn’t need to get up tomorrow.
         ─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ────── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Delia was stood at the window with a coffee in hand, watching you in the garden. She had abandoned her work to come and make a drink, and since spotting you she hadn’t been able to take herself away from the window. You had a blanket sat under the sun with your crystals charging in its rays, nestled in the long grass like jewels sparkling in the daylight. There was a book holding down the corner of the blanket, stopping it from curling against the wind. You had a water bottle laid down on the centre of your blanket and leftover orange peels from your snacking.
Now, you were rummaging in the flower beds, picking out some flowers for the bouquet you always liked to have in your room. Your hair was whipped around in the spring breeze and there was a look of such joy on your face that your supreme mother couldn’t help but grab her phone out of her pocket to snap a photo of you, smiling at it before she sent it to her wife, your other mother.
She stayed there watching you, smiling at the response Mina sent: ‘beautiful girl 💜🤍’ and eventually she wandered to the back door, wrapping her arms around herself to stop the breeze from penetrating her thin blouse as she made her way out to you, “hi darling, how are you feeling?” She asked, sitting herself down on your blanket and picking up your book, flicking through it to see what you were reading.
You smiled, walking over to sit with her with your flowers in hand, “I’m okay. I needed this,” you smiled timidly, leaning into her as she wrapped her arms around you, kissing the sun kissed hair at the top of your head.
“I’m so proud of you baby, I hope you know that,” you laughed, rolling your eyes playfully, “yes I know, you tell me every day,” you laughed, kissing her cheek to express your gratitude.
“Your mum is coming home early today, what would you like to do this afternoon?” She asked, carding a hand through your hair. You sighed, never very good at making a decision, “hmm I don’t know,” you thought for a moment, but truthfully, you were already feeling so much better than yesterday.
“Okay sweet girl, well you have a think, we can just sit out here together, enjoy the sunshine if you’d like,” she smiled, kissing your head a final time before she shifted, preparing to stand up.
She walked back towards the door, “just come and get me if you need anything, okay?” She said, blowing you a kiss when you nodded at her, alone again outside in the garden while classes continued on the inside.
Delia often called you her little pot plant, with how much the sun seemed to charge you. You thrived off the warmth on the skin and you felt so sleepy and content as you lay down on the blanket, allowing yourself to drift off in the garden, curled in a ball on the centre of the grass and your music playing in your headphones. Stevie Nicks sang you a lullaby and before you knew it, you had fallen asleep out there.
When you woke back up, yawning and stretching like a cat, you shuffled back into the house, having checked the time on your phone. You were pleasantly surprised to enter the kitchen and see your mum at the kitchen table, sipping on a herbal tea you couldn’t quite identify, her eyes fixed on the space in front of her.
You walked further into the room and she noticed you, placing down her tea with a gentle smile, “hi darling,” she mumbled, voice warmer than usual. You smiled, coming over to sit next to her, “hi, how was work?”
“Oh, “ she groaned, “same old incompetent colleagues making my life harder,” she grumbled, and you laughed lightly,
“Good thing you’re home early then,” you replied, to which she nodded with a snort, sipping her tea.
“Is mama teaching?” You asked, wondering why she was sat here alone, but before she answered you got up and walked to the timetable Delia had nailed to the wall, highlighting her scheduled classes so her students knew when she was free. This confirmed your suspicions; she had twenty minutes left of class before you were all reunited.
“How’s your day been?” Mina asked, eyeing you carefully as you wandered around the kitchen aimlessly, relatively anxious for your other mother to return.
“Nice. I picked flowers and laid outside all day. The weather’s gorgeous,” you smiled, noting the raise of her eyebrow; Mina wasn’t a huge fan of the warm weather, not like you and Delia, and she couldn’t think of anything much worse than roasting outside all morning.
“I’m going to take my stuff from the garden upstairs,” you smiled at her, running back outside to gather your things and climb the stairs to put them away in your bedroom. You ended up getting distracted, laying on your bed on your phone, and you didn’t even realise how long it had been until Delia poked her head around your door, laptop in hand “hi love, did you see mum’s home?” She smiled.
“Oh yeah! I was with her, I just brought my stuff up here from the garden,” you explained, getting up to follow her out of the room and into her office. She sat her things down in her desk while she told you about the lesson she had just given, promising to make sure you were caught up on the few lessons you had missed today, before you both descended the stairs and joined Mina back in the kitchen.
Cordelia went straight to the kettle to make herself tea; she never liked to drink coffee in the afternoon, “does either of you want tea?” She asked over her shoulder, and you both declined, settling into a relaxed conversation at the kitchen table while you snacked on some popcorn you had dragged out from the cupboard, smiling when your mum’s hand occasionally slipped into the bag, retrieving some for herself.
“So,” Delia asked, joining you both at the table with her mug of tea, “how should we spend this afternoon?”
You shrugged your shoulders in response, happy to go along with anything. Mina looked to you for an answer, too tired from her day at work to have much of an opinion.
“Mm okay, how about we pop to the high street and get some things then we come home and relax in the garden?” Cordelia suggested, which both of you thought sounded pleasant enough.
You settled on driving, not wanting to get too hot walking to the shops, so you were sat in the back of the car with the wind weaving through your hair, Delia driving and Mina watching you in the windscreen mirror, trying to make sure you really were okay.
Delia parked the car at the side of the street and you all hopped out, linking arms with your mum while your mama walked a beat ahead, scanning the street for the shops that she knew you would all three enjoy.
First she dragged you both into a metaphysical shop, earning a tight smile from Mina and a little excited bounce from you. Of course, your mother was the supreme; she knew exactly how to procure most of these crystals from more reliable sources, but there was something about the magic of being surrounded by crystals that you just adored. You ended up drifting away from your mothers, eyeing the little shaped crystals, and you picked up an amethyst heart for your mum, a clear quartz one for yourself, and a rose quartz one for your mama. When you had paid, you crossed the shop to Mina who wrapped an arm around you while Delia went to purchase a few items.
The next stop was the book shop next door; Delia had put you on a book buying ban, but she supposed she could give you a free pass on a day like today. After way too long wandering around and dragging both women with you, you walked out of there with a book you had been eyeing for a few weeks and a wide grin on your face.
Throughout your afternoon out you had been begging your mums for sushi for dinner, so you ended up back in the car driving to the most local restaurant. During the journey, Delia had called Zoe and her voice echoed throughout the car as the two discussed whether or not the girls would like any.
“I’m sure they’d love it, but there’ll definitely be a few who won’t eat it,” Zoe mused.
“Mm I think you’re right, maybe we’ll stick to the planned menu and I’ll just have sushi with my girls. Would you like any?” Delia asked, turning into the restaurant carpark.
Zoe politely declined, and Delia hopped out of the car, asking you to go with her despite your protests; she needed you to choose your favourites. When you were in the restaurant you huddled into her side, waiting your turn while you eyed the sushi, revising your order before you go to the counter.
After 10 minutes or so you were leaving the shop, but not before being dragged into the grocery store next door. You trailed around, impatient to go home and eat your sushi, “Can I go wait in the car?” You asked your mama, but she shook her head, amused at your demeanour, “We’ll be quicker if you stop pouting,” and so you smiled at her, following along so you could get out quicker.
She picked up a punnet of strawberries, a bottle of white wine, some ice cream and a bunch of flowers for Mina, and eventually you followed her out of the shop and joined your other mother in the car.
“I thought you were only getting sushi,” she commented, to which you snorted,
“yeah, so did I!” though truth be told you were craving strawberries, and you guessed that if you played your cards right they'd let you have some wine too.
When you arrived back at the coven, the girls had already sat down to eat; you could hear the bustle from the dining room and the clinking of cutlery as you crossed the building to go to the kitchen at the back.
“Sushi in the garden?” You asked, a hopeful tone to your voice. Your mum grumbled minutely but of course she agreed, so you and your mama took everything out to the garden while Mina sat down, pouring the wine into three! glasses, clustering them all in the patch of table that the umbrella hid from the sun so they didn’t warm up.
You followed Cordelia out with plates in your hand and sat down at the table, a spread of sushi, strawberries, breadsticks and hummus, wine and veggie sticks in front of you.
You were eating mostly in silence, but your mama couldn't stand the quiet, “so baby, do you think you'll be okay to go to school tomorrow?” She asked you, patting your thigh under the table.
You nodded, mouth full of sushi that you didn't quite want to spray everywhere, and you swallowed quickly so you could reply properly, “I just needed a little break, today was perfect,” you smiled, thanking them both for always understanding your needs.
When you had eaten, you insisted on cleaning up as a thank you for your day, so you watched through the window as your mums relaxed outside, sharing quiet speech and gentle touches as they sipped on their wine, so very in love that it gave you hope for your own future.
When the kitchen was clean, you made your way outside, playfully dumping yourself in your mama’s lap, who cooed at you, “aww my little baby,” she joked, squeezing your cheek as you rolled your eyes, laughing lightly.
“Mummm,” you gave Mina your best puppy dog eyes, “can I please have some more wine?” you fluttered your eyelashes at her, ignoring the way Delia snorted behind you.
Mina stared at you blankly, waiting for you to stop with the dramatics, “one.” And you squealed in response, grabbing the bottle to refill your glass. You had tried to add a little more but Delia stopped you with a quick “ah ah ah, that’s enough” so you figured you should be grateful for what you had.
The rest of the evening was spent laid on the grass, nibbling strawberries and reading your book, soaking up every bit of sun. Delia had dragged her chair further down the patio so she was in the sun, her shoes and socks kicked off and her blouse untucked from her trousers. She lay back with her eyes closed and a smile on her face.
Your mum sat where she had been all evening, slowly sipping on her wine as she sat watching the garden; the birds flying past and the speed of the clouds that ran through the sky above you. She kept an eye on you too, making sure you were well enough to go to school tomorrow.
When you did finally go to bed that evening, your chest was light and your face ached from the smiles you had worn all day. You felt happy and loved and safer than ever, and so incredibly grateful for your mum and your mama <3

Tick tok, tik tok..
Your eyes watched each second pass on the clock. It was painstaking, every movement of the smallest hand was agonising.
Finally it reached five o'clock, and you stood up from behind your desk, packing your bag quickly. This didn't go unnoticed by the woman who had caused this urgency in you.
"In a rush?"
Oh that voice. It only made things worse.
You forced a smile, turning your head to see Ms Venable, seated and looking at you with a curious expression.
"Yes, I have plans."
Your tone was stilted, each syllable strained between your teeth. It wasn't out of hate, no, of course not. It was out of pure and utter desire. You see, the reason you were in a such a hurry, was because you couldn't stand to be a second longer in her company or else you would explode with neediness.
"You've said the same thing for a week."
Her low tone made you shudder inside. Why was it that her pronunciation consequently caused a ripple inside your body. You chose not to reply to her comment. It wasn't a question therefore it didn't need an answer. You instead slung the strap of your bag over your shoulder and made for the door. But a single tap of the cane stopped you in your tracks.
Turning your head, you saw Ms Venable's expression changed, a hint of irritation behind it. You cleared your throat, hating to admit that you were one of those people who froze when she tapped her cane against the hard floor. It was effective though, you'd give her that.
"If you flee the room again tomorrow, be prepared to give me a full explanation." Her tone was stern, sending electric shocks through your body, starting at your heart and ending between your legs.
"Yes, Ms Venable." With a slight nod, you left the room, closing the door behind you. You barely registered the drive home, it was like a time skip in a film. Next thing you knew you were sprawled out on your bed, hand working quickly to relieve the pent up pressure from the day.
"Fuck.." You mumbled, fingers drawing circles around your clit. It wasn't enough. You needed Ms Venable.
Oh.. Ms Venable..
Ever since you started working at Kineros, that woman had caught your eye. Of course she did, everyone was intimidated by her, but it was no secret that she was stunning. Even those most scared of her would have to admit she was blessed with looks. You had managed to keep your attraction in reigns, making sure not to think about her too much out of working hours, but the last week had been too hard.
It started off on Monday. You had walked into your shared office (as you were her assistant), and laid eyes upon the woman. She always wore a similar outfit, a lilac blazer, white shirt, tie, and a skirt that hugged her curves. But that day.. her shirt was undone by a few buttons, revealing the hum of her violet laced bra. She didn't seem to care, although you noticed that when she left the office later that morning, she did the buttons up. It had swarmed your mind all day, the image of her, wearing nothing but underwear. It was impossible to keep your mind at bay.
Then Tuesday. This time it was her skirt. It was a few inches shorter, riding up her thigh as she crossed her legs under the table. Your view from your desk gave a perfect angle, seeing all the way up her thigh. She seemed unbothered again, her gaze always on her laptop, working away.
Fuck.
Fast forward to Thursday, it was all too much. This was the forth time of the week you found yourself escaping work  just to go home to touch yourself. There was no other way to ease the pressure, but even that didn't fully satisfy you.
And that's how that very evening you found yourself standing outside the 'sex shop' in town. Your cheeks were stained pink, you were humiliated that it had come to this. But you took in a deep breath and entered.
**
You walked out of the shop clutching a black bag with a red bow, trying to hide it under your coat. Surely people could recognise where this bag was from. Although you shouldn't have been ashamed, there was nothing embarrassing about buying such things. No, the embarrassing part came afterwards.
In a split second after you had crossed the road, your eyes locked with another woman. Ms Venable to be precise. She was holding a shopping bag, placing it into the trunk of her expensive looking car. She straightened up, watching you with curiosity, perhaps wondering why you weren't with friends, carrying out your 'plans'.
"Hi, Ms Venable." You managed to choke out the words. A faint smile tugged on her lips, and you realised it was because she had noticed the bag poking out of your coat. A horrified inaudible squeak left you. If the ground swallowed you whole you definitely wouldn't complain. Maybe swallowed and thrown into a volcano, because that's how it felt.
"See you tomorrow." Her dismissal confused you. Surely she would have made conversation, small talk, or even just tease me for buying things at the sex shop. But no, she got into her car and drove away.
You were left stunned, but also needy. You hadn't seen her smile remotely, but there had been a faint one when she saw the bag. Urgh, this woman drove you crazy.
**
You walked into the office on Friday with confidence, a smile on my face. You were almost satisfied. Buying those things had definitely been a good investment. It didn't quite hit the mark, but it was enough to get you through the day. Or so you thought.
Ms Venable was sat behind her desk, one button on her shirt lower than before. I could see the curve of the gap between each breast. Your eyes widened, freezing for a moment, before your brain rebooted, mechanically forcing you to sit at your desk.
Holy fuck holy fuck holy fuck holy fuck.
The ache between your legs grew back instantly. All you could think about was her bending you down over the desk and-
"Long night?"
You looked up, ready to shake your head, but you saw her smirk. You knew exactly why she asked that question. Cheeks flushed pink, you tried to focus on the morning work.
But you couldn't.
You mentally screamed, yelled, sighed. There was only one option if I wanted to get through the day. You stood up, excusing yourself and rushing off to the restroom. It was extremely lucky the restrooms were individual, you didn't have to go into stalls.
Your shaky hand locked the door, and immediately pulled down your slacks, fingers sliding over your heat. You were already soaked, groaning quietly as your fingers relieved the intense pressure. Your spare hand covered your mouth as your hand moved frantically.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door, pulling you out of your trance. I quickly pulled my slacks up, rinsed my hand and took a deep breath. Wasn't there other restrooms other people could use?
You opened the door, revealing Ms Venable standing there. Shock rushed through you, and it showed on your expression. She let out a small chuckle, stepping into the restroom. You had to take a step back as you watched her lock the door.
"You thought I wouldn't notice you running off to touch yourself?" There was humour in her voice, eyes dark as she scanned me. Her eyes landed straight to the undone zip on my slacks. Damn it!
"U-uh.." You desperately tried to think up an explanation, but being this close to her was sending your mind into overdrive, causing you to whimper as she took one step closer.
Suddenly you were pushed against the wall, Ms Venable's strong arm holding you there. You hesitated, her face so close to you. You decided to kiss her.
It was like magic, she kissed back with an equal amount of passion.
Her left hand slid down your front, slipping into your underwear and beginning to stroke your clit. She chuckled again, noticing how wet you were.
"I'm guessing those sex toys didn't do much to help." You hated that she was right. She was always right.
"Y-yes.." You gasped as two slender fingers slid into you with ease. "Fuck!" Your hand clamped over your mouth quickly to muffle your noises. This woman made you moan like you'd never moaned before.
Her fingers were quick, pumping into you like there was no tomorrow. If you weren't very much mistaken, she seemed to be letting off some built up steam. Was that because of you?
"You have no idea how long I've been waiting to do this." She murmured as she reached your most sensitive spot. You muffled a cry of pleasure as the knot in your stomach grew and grew.
"P-please, I'm gon-" You managed to whisper before a long awaited orgasm washed through you. She slowed down, pulling her fingers out. She smirked at how wet they were. She then licked them clean, making your knees weak because it was so hot.
"I hope you'll stop touching yourself and wait for me to satisfy you." She spoke in a humoured tone, and then simply left, leaving you in the restroom, weak, dizzy with euphoria.
And completely under her spell.

💜It's time, let's go
Pairing: Wilhemina Venable x Fem Lector
Author's note: This request was made anonymously about pregnant Mina.
Word count: 837
Tumblr media
~Master list~
One-shot
Wattpad
You were very nervous to say the least, today they would have their interview for the adoption process.
-How do you feel?- you ask Mina, taking her hand.
-I'm a little nervous, and you?
-The same,- she laughed a little.
Today was the big day and if everything went well, maybe in a few months their little family would expand, but getting to this point has not been easy.
Flashback
Today had been terrible, you were late as your car left you stranded on the way, your boss decided to have a meeting that lasted about two hours, you had too much work to do so you had to stay longer to finish it, but at least you were happy to be able to go home to your beloved wife.
-Hello Violet- you greet the little white cat that comes to greet you, -did you miss me?- you ask receiving a meow in answer.
-Do you know where mommy is?- caressing your head.
You call your wife without receiving any answer, you enter the bedroom looking for any sign of Mina, something in you tells you to look in the bathroom and you find the redhead sitting on the toilet.
-What's wrong, honey?- you ask, leaning down to be at her level.
-I'm pregnant,- she says in a whisper.
-What?"- you ask not believing what you just heard.
Instead of answering you, he shows you a positive pregnancy test and you take her in your arms, happy to have finally succeeded after so many attempts.
At last your little family that you had formed together would begin to expand.
End of flashback
But it seems that fate had different plans for you.
Flashback
You were too tired by the time you got home, it was strange not to see Wilhemina's car in the driveway but you just assumed she had stayed at work, originally you planned to sleep for 20 minutes and then start making dinner, but your plans changed at the last minute when you received a call from your wife.
-Hi honey,- you greet hearing a lot of noise on the other end.
-I'm calling from Juarez Hospital,- your blood runs cold when you hear her words.
-Are you still there?
-Yes... I'm here.
-Your wife has just been in a car crash....
You stop listening and go into an automatic state, leaving the house for the hospital.
The next five hours became the most difficult of your life, you knew nothing of Wilhemina's current condition and you were too afraid of losing her after finally finding her. When you were finally allowed to see her, you couldn't help but cry when you saw her whole body full of bruises, she looked so fragile and helpless.
-What happened,?- you said, settling down next to her, careful not to hurt her.
She simply takes your hand leaving a kiss on your knuckles, before placing it on her belly.
-He's a survivor,- she says before bursting into tears.
End of the flashback
They would have thought that things got better from then on, but in reality it was not like that, during the recovery, Mina started to have a lot of bleeding, as well as some back pains; they had gone to her gynecologist but she had told them that this was normal, the problem with her back was that they could not do x-rays because they could affect the baby.
After a few months things did not get better, the bleeding had gotten worse and the pain in her belly got worse. But when they stopped it was much worse, Wilhemina got up in the early morning to go to the bathroom and saw that there was too much blood, they went to the hospital only to receive one of the worst news.
As a result of the shock Mina had generated a scoliosis due to trauma, which could not be detected in time, since she did not have x-rays for the welfare of the baby, then she had generated a miscarriage, since her body was not able to carry a pregnancy or at least not with this condition.
The following months were too much, having had a miscarriage was very hard for both of them, but Mina was the one who had felt it worse, adding to this the scoliosis that had been detected was a very intense moment for your marriage. But the love they felt had helped them overcome this making their relationship much stronger than before.
Flashback
-Y/n, are you awake?- Wilhelmina calls out to you in the dark of the night as she can't fall asleep.
-I am, sweetie,- she replied, turning to face you.
You couldn't see her at all but at least you felt her next to you.
-I've been thinking,- you begin in a very soft tone, -that maybe we could adopt...
You say it as if it were a secret that no one should know.
-I'm fine with that,- cupping her cheek with completion.
You could feel a smile grow on his face, at his answer regarding adoption.
End of flashback
-It's time, let's go- says the redhead letting go of your hand to get out of the car with the help of her cane and you behind her.

Something in you should probably have known not to go to Madison for advice. You were no stranger to the front page scandals that greeted you whenever you entered a shop, nor her biting attitude or destructive way of life, but you had ended up desperate.
It was a few months ago that you took the first step down that path, one of chaos and anger but a new state of calm you were a stranger to. Madison had taught you the only way to conquer your emotions was to drown them and burn them like the witches before you, dragging you out the the empty shed at the back of the greenhouse where she gave you the first taste of substances.
Now, you were a seasoned professional.
You’d had a fight with Madison and it was sour. A mess of bitter words and slaps and angry tears that she sneered at. It was true you were like sisters; she looked out for you like no other but your fights were detrimental. Zoe had turned and walked back in the other direction when she heard your raised voices at the end of the hall, advising all the younger witches to steer clear.
When she finally stormed out, you were left standing in the centre of the room, panting from the exertion of shouting. Your lungs burned and your eyes stung with fiery tears that streamed down your face, your least favourite part of your anger. You hated looking weak.
You were burning with anger, your fingertips buzzing with the electricity of your emotions, and you could think of no other way to calm down.
You had been reckless in your anger, though, storming down the stairs and past your mother making tea in the kitchen, ignoring her calls to you as you fled the house.
“I — I need to see what that was about,” Cordelia sighed, putting her mug down and making her way towards the door.
Wilhemina outstretched her arm, using her cane to block the door from her wife, “she was practically on fire, let her calm down a little first.” She advised, voice warm and steady. She still wasn’t used to offering parenting advice, feeling firmly out of place in your mother daughter relationship, but she knew she helped balance her wife, and in this moment it felt necessary.
You had her anger, despite the lack of biological connection. You were prone to spitting flames, setting fire to the world around you, whereas Cordelia was most often the one who burned in the ruins of other’s misplaced emotions. The redhead knew the sensation you were feeling, and knew that your mother bursting in would simply add fuel to the fire.
Cordelia knew she was right.
The supreme huffed, slumping in the chair next to her wife, looking over at her with pleading eyes, “please tell me she’s gonna be okay.” It was a useless request, of course, Wilhemina knew no more than she did, yet when she said it, the blonde somehow believed it. She clung to her word like the truth and her anxiety eased instantly, despite the sight of you storming past replaying in her mind.
You were slumped against the back wall of the shed, having tugged out the bottle of vodka you hid under the cabinet in there. You were more than a few sips in, steady tears streaming down your face. You hated that you had such poor control of your emotions, and you hated more that this was the only way you felt you could cope.
You were too stuck in your head to hear the footsteps across the path, or the quiet talking.
Cordelia had asked Wilhemina to come with her, something the redhead had initially refused. The witch knew the understanding that had developed between the two of you and she wasn’t sure that she’d be able to manage whatever was going on without her help, so both women were walking across the garden, hushed discussion about you and what could possibly have happened for you to be in such a state.
The door swung open and you looked up, not as startled as you perhaps should have been, though the tears fell harder when your mother popped her head around the door.
“Oh love” she sighed, the way you knew she was disappointed but her love would override that for now. She stepped into the shed, opening the door wider so that you saw your stepmum standing there with a blank expression. You loved her but she did scare you a little. Even now you could never read her expression.
You let out a gentle sob and your mum sat down next to you, taking the bottle out of your hand and passing it up to Mina before she scooped you up and pressed you against her, rocking you as you cried.
You missed the look the women shared, concern etched on their faces. You clung to your mum like a small child, crying into her chest while she ran her fingers through your hair, “I’ve got you darling, it’s okay,” she cooed, biting her lip anxiously as her mind ran through all of the possibilities.
When your tears had subsided and you slumped against her, she sniffed and moved to sit up, “come on love, let’s get more comfortable.” She helped you up and wrapped an arm around your shoulders, tucking you into her side as you left the shed, Mina squeezing your shoulder but stepping back to give you space with your mum.
She followed you into the house, crossing the kitchen to pour away the bottle of vodka in the sink, lingering in the kitchen, unsure of her place in this situation.
You had got half way up the stairs when you realised you weren’t being followed, turning to your mum with furrowed eyebrows, “where’s Mina?” You asked, causing her to look behind you both.
“Mina!” She called out to the kitchen, “Come with us!”
You both waited on the stairs until you saw her at the bottom, climbing up to join you both in the master bedroom. When you entered the room, your mum ushered you in, helping you to sit back against the pillows where you could smell your mothers and instantly calm down.
Wilhemina entered moments later, perching at the end of the bed while Cordelia propped herself up on the pillows next to you, pulling you to lay down with your head in her lap so she could play with your hair.
You looked up at the redhead and she offered you a slight smile, one of comfort and understanding, easing the sinking feeling in your stomach as Delia braced you all for a conversation.
“Darling what could possibly have happened to get you in this state?” She asked, watching over you with concern as Mina reached out to wrap a hand around your ankle, comforting you while giving you space.
“I just had a fight with Madison. She winds me up so badly I can’t handle it.” You grumbled, tired eyes from crying falling shut despite your mother’s wish to discuss the events of the day.
“Honey, you can’t blow up like this and go and drink your sorrows away. Especially at your age. It’s not acceptable,” she scolded, maintaining a gentle voice.
“Yeah I know.”
The last thing you needed was a lecture. You knew it was bad, but you couldn’t handle your emotions. You felt things too deeply for the depths of your body, you couldn’t help but drown.
“I know exactly where this behaviour is coming from. You’re banned from spending time one on one with Madison, and you’re grounded for two months, okay?” You sat up in outrage, prepared to explode, “you can’t cut me off from the only person that treats me like a person!”
“I can and I will. Madison is teaching you bad things, I’m not going to sit by and let it happen.”
You laughed bitterly, “great talk, mum”
You got up to leave the room, slamming the door behind you, and Cordelia sighed heavily, dropping her head into her hands, “what else was I supposed to do?” She asked desperately, looking to her wife for answers she didn’t have.
You were sat in the common room curled into one of the couches, closing your eyes and trying to calm down, but the clicking of heels immediately raised your heart rate, “Listen, I’m sorry we fought. I didn’t mean everything I said,”
Madison was stood at the end of the sofa, looking almost guilty.
You sat up to respond, “you’re an asshole. But I’m sorry too.”
She laughed, “yeah I can agree, but you love it,” Causing you to roll your eyes.
Now that you were back on good terms, she walked back out of the room and you settled back down, enjoying a quiet moment.
A while later you were still fuming from what your mother had said, banning you from Madison and grounding you without even trying to talk to you first. You were winding yourself up again, and decided to seek refuge with the one person who saw you for you.
You wandered up the stairs and knocked at the door, unsteady on your feet under the intoxication. You waited for permission to enter then opened the door, causing Wilhemina to look up at you from her desk,, “oh - hello,” she greeted, a little unsure of why you were there. “Mina,” you huffed, a combination of alcohol and anger and sadness taking over you, “I hate today.”
She smiled a knowing smile, gesturing for you to close the door, before she directed you to sit down opposite her.
“I think we need to talk, don’t we,” she sighed, already relaxing you; at least she was actually willing to have a conversation, instead of instantly enforcing punishment.
You curled up in the chair opposite her, quietly chewing your nail while she carried on working; she didn’t want to stop and pressure you right away into talking.
“Why does mum not want me to spend time with Madison?”
Mina simply raised an eyebrow, “Do I really need to answer that question?”
You huffed. “I just don’t get it. Yeah she’s not the best influence but she’s my closest friend here, she looks out for me.”
“So does your mother.”
You rolled your eyes at that.
“Listen, dear, your mum only wants the best for you. It is very out of character for you to be found in the shed drinking straight vodka, this is clearly behaviour picked up from Madison, something Cordelia wants to nip in the bud.”
“She only taught me that as a way to cope.” You grumbled, looking at the floor in front of the desk. You hated sounding weak, but you knew she’d understand in ways Cordelia just couldn’t, as much as she adored you.
Wilhemina sighed, shutting her laptop. She stood up from her spot at the desk and walked around to the other side, supporting herself on the desk so she could perch just in front of you, “Darling, what is it you’re trying to cope with?” She asked in a voice softer than you’d ever known her to use.
“I’m just angry. And sad.” You swiped at a stray tear, avoiding her observation.
“And would you like to talk about these feelings?” She asked, unsure of how to approach this without your mother.
“No,” you sighed, “I just want a hug.” You mumbled, looking up at her expectantly.
Wilhemina was taken aback, not used to the way you would turn to her for support the same way you did with Cordelia, but of course she opened her arms to you, one of the few people she let close enough to hear the way her heart beat beneath the purple.
You got up from the chair and stood in front of her, looping your arms around her waist and laying your head on her chest. One arm wrapped around your back, the other supporting herself against the desk. Silence shrouded you both, no words necessary for the exchange of understanding between you, a subtle confidence that you were never alone as long as Wilhemina remained in your life.
Hours later, you were laid on your bed, watching Netflix on your laptop to try and drift off, hoping the day would end sooner rather than later. Before long, your mother entered the room quietly, unsure if you were asleep, and greeted you with a soft smile when you made eye contact.
She silently crossed the floor and perched at the end of the bed, closing your laptop and moving it off your lap so that she could talk with you.
“Mina told me about your conversation in the office,” she started, “I’m proud of you for going to her. I’m glad you resolved some things,” she smiled, squeezing your leg in comfort.
“She gets me I guess,” you mumbled, still frustrated with the supreme for her eagerness to punish you instead of try to understand.
“Y/n, I came here to apologise. I was wrong to ban you from seeing Madison. You can continue your friendship as long as this doesn’t continue, but you will still be grounded for the time being,” she reasoned, causing you to smile.
“I can still be friends with her?”
“As long as you promise you will not copy her behaviours and you will check in with Mina or myself whenever you find it hard to manage your emotions.”
You smiled, relieved she was easing her punishment.
“Thank you,” you sat up, reaching across the bed to hug her.
She rubbed your back, holding you close, “please promise me you’ll talk to one of us,” she begged, wrought with worry for you after the state you had been found in.
“I promise, mumma”
“That’s my girl.”
