I would love if one day a new follower was a person and not just a bot. I also want mrbeast to eat shit and die. Those things are unrelated.

I don’t know why, but one of the most surreal sights on YouTube for me is Epic Rap Battles of History inspired channels doing battles that use YouTubers (and are actually pretty damn good or entertaining)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also that one channel that did Deadmeat vs. Nostalgia Critic will be doing a Scott the Woz vs Jontron battle. And the guy who played Nostalgia Critic also played Jacksfilms in that MatPat vs Jacksfilms rap battle. And you know what? His impressions were really good.
Edit: I wanna include links cause these people worked hard on their vids
Squid Game vs. MrBeast - Freshy Kanal
MatPat vs. Jacksfilms - Snakebite126
Dead Meat vs. Nostalgia Critic - fightmarker
Scott the Woz vs. Nitro Rad - SIR Rap Battles

MrBeast made a video recently called "1000 blind people see for the first time" and I've seen a lot of people criticizing criticism of this video. I've seen very few actual criticisms about the video and it seems most of them sum up to "the system is broken", not "mrbeast is a bad person."
The way in which the criticism has been characterized seems to me to sum up to "mrbeast is a bad person for helping people" and there's just something so insidious about it when I look at the like actual criticism.
One of the main things that leads me to this conclusion was a quote tweet of a Hassan clip that was pretty much saying "Hassan is rich but doesn't help people with his money, but he criticizes MrBeast for helping people with HIS money 🤔🤔🤔" but like the clip was Hassan watching the like intro to the MrBeast video, and saying that it made him angry, not at mrbeast, but at the healthcare system that allowed these people to go blind in the first place? Like it seems to be characterizing the left as these weirdos who hate when people do good things.

The idea that MrBeast might show up in your life at some point and arbitrarily hand you a pile of money is so widespread online that the first rule on the MrBeast subreddit is “No Begging for Money”

I tried to watch Critical Role once and couldn't get into it, and I think it's for the same reason that MrBeast's video thumbnails fill me with such a deep sense of dread. I don't think the common quality that repulses me is what attracts their respective fans, I think what it is is undetectable to them, this something that seeps into their crevices. And other things, like Taylor Swift and American professional football are also coated with this same slime, though it's laid on so thick in those cases that it's harder to describe, the more of this something there is the harder it is to talk about, which should be enough to horrify and recoil but beyond that it's deeply wrong, this is not how anything should be. It's not even porn because you can't get off to it, It's sin deprived of its finer aesthetic qualities, banal soggy cardboard evil that yet still elides any possibility of redemption.

Hey could you offer any insight to the nickisnotgreen thing going on?? I’ve been looking and I’ve seen comments but can’t really get a straight answer on what he did? At first I thought it was like a sexism thing on his MrBeast video and now it’s about SuperMega?? And lies or jokes about sexual assault?? Sorry to bother you I am just looking for clarification if possible- thanks!!
Yeah I gotchu! So basically lexupdog posted a video a couple of months ago accusing supermegas old channel artist, donddr of sexually assaulting her while they were in a relationship and supermega of not moving quick enough when she told them about it, she was also staying in their office at time so she said a lot of other things about the supermegaplex being disgusting, them "kicking" her out, not clearly communicating with her and a lot of details about their personal relationships. Mostly being that Ryan used to sext fans, Matt cheated on his ex girlfriend with the girl he's with and that both of them make suicide joke is about their friend Daniel who passed away in 2015. Ryan and Matt both made apologies/response videos where they addressed everything and matt showed the other half of a lot of the conversations lex showed and put a lot of things into context. ( Imo both of their videos are really good responses, I've also watched so much of their content that I know they wouldn't make jokes about Daniel like that and that's the only thing that was their world vs someone else's) nickisnotgreen is besties with peethan who is currently dating lexupdog. Nick was like the first commentary channel to make a video about the whole supermega/ lex situation, and the video he made was VERY biased. He didn't show any proof of anything he was saying, he continued to bring up things that had no proof to back them up/ had been disproven and all around it just seemed like him and his friends wanted to make supermega look bad. his first video is literally titled "supermega is full of terrible people" and lex and Ethan had a stream where they watched supermegas sub count go down. Nick used his friend lex talking about her sexual assault to make a hate video on supermega. He also refused to take any sort of criticism on it, and called the few commentary channels talking about him red pill reddit losers, posted multiple stories talking shit ab fans who still supported supermega and privated his twitter. I know a lot of people don't like him but tomdarks video about everything is really good! (The original, idk if he's made another, I haven't seen it) I think I hit most of the main points, I'm trying not to make it too long but I could talk about supermega all day lol

Thank you for responding to my tags! It was unexpected but very informative lol
no worries! <3 unfortunately my hyperfixation from 2015 to 2020 was youtube so i have a bit of knowledge on the platform ( ꈍᴗꈍ) currently their focus lies with adblockers (lmao i know, recent as of october 2023) and even if you doxx someone your channel is VERY unlikely to be deleted or even so much as restricted (i really want to be proven wrong here!!!!!!!!) so most YouTubers, unless they're hardcore breaking rules and are not conventionally attractive/not earning mrbeast money are fine! even with one strike a channel survives, even with three it's possible to reverse decisions.
it just sucks that even on youtube the trend of censoring words is becoming more and more normal (this is to a different scale than adpocolypse 1.0 where crude language would be looked down on by the ad gods and thus youtube would demonitize you) when language is not something that should be censored. we're in a media literacy crisis (piss on the poor!, book bannings etc) and instead of fighting it head-on people are turning a blind eye and coming up with idiotic words like smeggsy, oũssy, mürd3r etc. im genuinely concerned for the coming generation(s) of languages and media literacy but oh well <3 of course a huge part of it is that shorts (the main video format being pushed to compete with shittoks and reels. fun fact, creators are being paid INSANE amounts to post shorts. when you would earn 1 dollar/euro/pound per 1000 views ((not accurate estimates but the same ratio)) from a 10 minute video in 2018, you are now earning 10 CENTS per 1000 views on a 10 minute video → compared to shorts where you earn 1 dollar/euro/pound per 100 views ((not accurate estimates but the same ratio))) are crossposted to 3 to 4 different social media sites, 2 of which censor SO heavily you can barely utter a full sentence before you get a community guideline strike
it's an amalgamation of unfortunate circumstances and perpetuated by a selfish generation that does not yet grasp the full concept of their actions, nor understand the massive consequences this will have, they do not yet have the critical thinking skills to actually change their behaviour in any meaningful way. combine that with parents who put their kid in front of an ipad but dont want them to see anything "bad", companies trying to milk and exploit every last drop before regulations will become way tighter and certain political groups wanting more control over the general public... yeah you get one big fucking mess

I made the mistake of commenting on a video about mrbeast that there is no ethical way to be a billionaire.
Now I have a bunch of dickriders in my replies going on about how amazing of a person he is thinking that if they suck his cock hard enough he'll buy them they're house.

I don’t really like mrbeast’s style of content and don’t watch his videos as a result, but it’s insane to say there’s no love behind his videos. That dude lives and breaths YouTube. Say all you want about his style of content destroying the internet etc etc he does love it. I don’t care abt people not liking mrbeast but how are you gonna be so clearly wrong in your criticism of someone
yeah mr beast fucking lives and dies by his channel like to maybe an unhealthy degree. I understand disliking how his videos have become the standard for copy's and getting high views but that's not the man's fault 😭😭😭 idk I actually do watch a lot of Mr beast videos and I dont dislike them- but i sure as hell dislike a lot of the copy's. *those* feel soulless because that's what they are- copy's! one of the reasons that Mr beast videos are so successful and that style has become so ubiquitous is because mr beast was fucking obsessed with the algorithm. he didn't just stumble into it in some corporate attempt to commodify youtube. he's the youtuber who just happened to be insane enough to make it.

i might be being a bit mean but mrbeast is maybe even a lucky case. as a white cishet man under capitalism he has the wealth and resources to seek therapy, to stop working at this youtube and sponsorship stuff and just hire someone else to take care of his companies, sell that shit off whatever. someone else can take on the arduous labour of making wealth for him. he CAN leave the grind and not be debased and devalued for it. in fact his whiteness allows people to view his actions and the emotional toll it has had on him with sympathy rather than pure criticism.
anyways my point is that EVEN white cishet men like mrbeast suffer under capitalism even when he's the guy who gets to have hundreds of nameless workers making money for him. capitalism ultimately reduces all people to the labour they produce for the borgeois and even that is pretty meaningless. im not saying anything revolutionary except that under capitalism no amount of charity work can remove the inherent harm required for this system to function. it doesnt actually change the systems of domination. mr beast isn't and has never been revolutionary he's still always obeyed the rules of capitalism

MrBeast’s Philanthropic Effort Draws Unexpected Backlash for Constructing 100 Wells in Africa to Supply Clean Water Because He is “White” (VIDEO)
Tumblr media
youtube
The best thing that could happen to Africa is for them to be recolonized.
The well-known philanthropist and YouTube giant, MrBeast, has encountered a wave of criticism after his latest project in Africa.
Jimmy Donaldson, popularly known as MrBeast, faces a fresh wave of scrutiny following the release of his new video showcasing the funding and construction of 100 wells across various African nations. The digital philanthropist anticipated backlash, stating he expects to “get canceled” for his charitable actions, which have historically drawn fire.
MrBeast, who has previously faced labels such as “white savior” and been called “demonic” for his humanitarian content, has now been accused of overshadowing the efforts of local governments and international organizations. His initiative, stretching across Cameroon, Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, and Zimbabwe, will provide clean drinking water to approximately 500,000 people.
The wells were constructed in villages and schools across Africa and were created using giant drills to access pure water sources underground.
In addition to the wells, MrBeast’s video features donations of educational supplies to Kenyan schools and the construction of a bridge to facilitate community access to medical facilities and educational institutions.

Despite the tangible benefits of these projects, the social media star has been met with mixed reactions.
“I already know I’m gonna get canceled because I uploaded a video helping people, and to be 100% clear, I don’t care. I’m always going to use my channel to help people and try to inspire my audience to do the same,” the social media star wrote.
Taylor Lorenz, a far-left reporter, addressed the concept of monetizing kindness, suggesting that the YouTube star’s approach could be perceived as exploitative.
“No one is “cancelling” you for “helping people”, you’ve received extremely light criticism in the past for the way you’ve monetized “kindness” content that some vulnerable people found to be exploitative,” said Lorenz.
“Encouraging young people to exploit vulnerable communities for content which they can then profit off of enormously, is the issue,” Lorenz added.
No one is “cancelling” you for “helping people”, you’ve received extremely light criticism in the past for the way you’ve monetized “kindness” content that some vulnerable people found to be exploitative.
Meanwhile, Albert Nat Hyde, a Twitter activist, rebuffed the idea of Africans needing water donations, criticizing what he views as a capitalist agenda beneath the guise of charity. He also added that the word “wells” is offensive.
“Wells in 2023 is offensive; why not boreholes or pipe-borne water? – Africans do not need water donation; we ain’t that poor and thirsty. – Africa is a continent with 54 countries; he must be specific where he went – This is capitalism; he wanna low-key use these countries for profit – He has set Africans for global ridicule by building wells we never asked him for,” Hyde wrote.
Mr Beast 100 wells is disrespect to Africans – He described the entire Africa as a village with its people living in huts – He projected that all Africans lack good drinking water – Wells in 2023 is offensive; why not boreholes or pipe-borne water? – Africans do not need water… pic.twitter.com/X8k12kvdp3 — Albert Nat Hyde (@BongoIdeas) November 5, 2023
Francis Gaitho, a Kenyan political activist, argued against what he perceives as a perpetuation of African stereotypes, accusing MrBeast of reinforcing the narrative of African poverty for content views. Gaitho emphasized the continent’s desire to move beyond philanthropy that serves external interests over genuine developmental progress.
“America is part of the problem,” said Gaitho, adding, “And you, Mr. Beast, are not supposed to be coming here to validate some of these long-held stereotypes that Africa is poor.”
MR BEAST IN KENYA Content creator #mrbeast was in Kenya drilling boreholes in 100 schools across the country. Saran Kaba Jones, the founder of FACE Africa, also weighed in, expressing the challenges of sustaining such humanitarian projects. She acknowledges the frustrations of seeing a well-resourced figure like MrBeast, a “white male,” garner immediate attention.
“I’ve been doing this for 15 years, but we’ve been struggling to continue the work because funding, awareness, and advocacy all take work,” Jones told CNN, adding, “overnight, this person comes along, who happens to be a white male figure with a huge platform, and all of a sudden, he gets all of the attention. It’s kind of frustrating, but it’s also understanding the nature of how the world is.”

my confession is that I'm glad that mrbeast does what he does. I don't like capitalism, im very wary against sensationalism in the media and performative activism but I think it's just stupid to shit on him for doing actions for the greater good. It's not only about offering a life changing surgery to people that couldn't afford it, I remember when he was removing plastic from the sea and people complained that "it wouldn't change anything" which just made me roll my eyes because. I'm sure they're doing something more productive by sitting at home writing chronically online takes .. but I'm sad to see I'm one of the only people on this website to have this opinion.
🎤 fine you can have the mic for mr beast propaganda /j
i think people are refusing to look deeper at the criticism no one is mad that he is doing good things that would be stupid it's more of the fact that the only reason these good things are happening is because it gets him views. if you watch any mr beast podcast circuits he makes it very clear that he is focused on getting as much views as possible, he is hyper fixated on going bigger and better for each project. it's great that some people get to benefit from his hobby but in this climate he needs to rethink how he views philanthropy. mr beast is very money orientated, as much as he says he gives most of it away he still makes a shit ton, he has enough money to pay people to no-life games for him just for fun. in response to criticism of the curing blind people video he states the reason he thinks this surgery should be available: bc the roi (return on investment) is good for these people once they are able to work again. meaning he thinks the government should pay for this bc the government can make more money back once these people go back to work. people should have access to health care regardless of their monetary worth. mr beast is a finance bro gone famous and often justifies his concerning views by saying 'but i'm good🥺 i give my money away' and that's just not how it works. also the criticism about the plastic removing was because while he was acting like he was helping minimize pollution he was actively contributing to it tenfold through bit coin and tesla investments. once again a series that got him clicks and views that was redundant in the long run. so yes it is great that he helps people and the planet but it's not great that it is purely for entertainment and capitalizing purposes to spread his brand and not something he does much outside of that or even cares about enough to realize the more long term solutions and how to promote them to have a continuous positive impact on the earth and people he is trying to help.
mr beast is not an evil person he is just misguided in his intentions
