Made another tiny scythe, this time I carved the snath instead of just trying to find a well shaped stick lmao The woods old and ill suited for carving but i made due.
thankfully the repairs are either invisible or just look like wood features. I workshopped a bit more on how to get a good curved blade and i think i did a better job!
Also, took a note from real scythe nibs and made this twist-tightening. You can move them around when loose and they stay put when tight, a nice little mechanism. Adjustable for your personal tiny mowing logistics.
forged blade of steel, nibs of black walnut and copper, carved snath of black walnut and copper wrap for accent

I’m thinking about people and trees and how I wish I could be silent more, be more tree than anything else, less clumsy and loud, less crow, more cool white pine, and how it’s hard not to always want something else, not just to let the savage grass grow.

Today I took a walk. I turned back onto my street. there was a cloud of dust. I cleared it as soon as I passed the neighbor mowing, and I cannot stress this enough, mowing their concrete driveway
