Someone scanned a bunch of 35mm film trailers from the 70's to early 90's, with all the scratches preserved-- I keep rewatching the trailer for Heat in particular, just for the photography of it. But man, I wonder what the last trailer is that used voiceover, the way old trailers did. You have to a guy who was The Voice of Film Trailers (Don LaFontaine or whoever), and he'd say "In a world where cops are badasses, the sword ruled" or whatever. But then they got rid of a Guy with a Voice and replaced that with playing a super-sad a capella version of Blame It On the Rain, or the most abrasive hip hop available... I don't know why entirely. I'm not sure what was wrong with telling people what the movie was about, when they try to sell you a ticket to the movie.
The trailer for Heat really just feels good to look at. I dont know why it's hitting me as much as it.
