I HAVE AN OM SHANTI OM THEORY
This may sound crazy but I need you guys to stay with me
So you know how in the movie, Om Kapoor starts to remember events from his previous life only AFTER he goes to the burnt studio?
And at the end of the movie, we realise that Shantipriya's ghost has been in the studios for the past however many years.
So what if, it was Shanti's ghost who made Om Kapoor see all those things from his past life? Like, she must've had some kind of powers as a ghost right? So what if it was because of her that Om Kapoor remembered his past life?
This also makes me think that she probably realised that she HAD in fact, fallen for Om Makhija, and that as she took her last breaths, after Mukesh came back and buried her under the jhoomar, she was thinking of her moments with Om Makhija, thinking of how he was the one that made her feel loved.
And also now I know I'm going down a spiral
But Imagine Shanti dies as she is thinking about Om, and then when she turns into a ghost, she spends all those years roaming around the studio, reminiscing in what little time she had spent with Om and hoping that Om lived his life and became a big superstar and that he might just come back to the studios but being disappointed when he doesn't. But then he does, and Shanti sees him, and realises that even though it's been so many years, Om still looks the same, and the realisation that Om died trying to save her hits her. And she wishes to meet him, but she can't, because she's a ghost, and he doesn't even remember everything. So she decides to make him remember everything. And then, then when Om remembers everything, and steps up to take revenge, she decides to become his shield of protection against Mukesh. And so everytime Mukesh is just about to catch onto Om's plans, Shanti does something that keeps Mukesh at bay, until, she realises that Om's plans probably won't work, as she knows how much of a bastard Mukesh is, and so, When Sandy is running from Mukesh, and she wounds herself, Shanti does not distract Mukesh, and then, then she kills Mukesh.
Also, the fact that as Shanti's ghost kills Mukesh and then looks at Om, tears in her eyes, perfectly aligns with my theory that Shanti realised her love towards Om only in her dying moments

Everybody has been talking about Branch's problems and anxieties (and I will probably make a post about this later too) but I think we should also talk about Poppy.
After the two movies she has gone through her own share of traumatic events like betrayal but also the fear of loosing the people she cares about. Which brings me to the point of this post: I think that after the events of the World Tour it would not be surprising if Poppy has become scared of loosing Branch.
When he self-sacrificed himself for her and jumped in front of the guitar chords, she couldn't have possibly known what would happen when he got hit by the guitar chords and after that she could not have known if it even was possible to turn him back to normal. So, now she has to worry about Branch doing stuff impulsively and without regarding his own safety if it is, in his own eyes, for the greater good or for the people he cares about.
And when she destroyed the strings, the first thing she thought and cared about was Branch. She literally threw the strings on the floor and ran to him, to make sure he was all right. Of course, it was her being worried about him and seeing how he was doing after the whole thing being a rock zombie. But maybe another reason why she ran to him so fast is that she saw he was grey again. And it was just such an impulse reaction to her seeing him like this, that she had to make sure how he was doing as soon as possible. The general consensus that I want to pull from here is: Poppy does not like seeing Branch being hurt neither physically or emotionally.
Thus, I just want to say that I think it would be pretty plausible to assume that she is scared to lose him because of his tendencies, because it almost happened before and that she isn't particularly thrilled to see him being hurt in any kind of way. I also think the way how she feels about him is actually very new to her, so she does not yet know how to deal with the many feelings she has. So, of course, it would be pretty overwhelming to see the person you love (and you possibly have not loved someone this way before) self sacrifice themselves for you. That could strengthen the fear and the trauma even more. Therefore, I wouldn't be surprised if she has become cautious or a little paranoid because of that.
Yeah, that are some of my speculations. I don't know if we will see something that has to do with this topic in the new movie, but it is interesting to think about the impact the last two movies left on our characters and how it could influence their actions in the third movie.

In the 2003 Movie, Holes, (its different in the book, sadly, but both book and adaptation i LOVE. also idk if this has already been pointed out but i gasped out loud when i noticed)
Sam the Onion Man dies out in the river, shot dead in his boat. I don’t think they’d bother to retrieve his body, bc unfortunately he’s a black man in the late 1890’s and the bigots who did kill him suck. 100 years later, we see his boat, the Mary Lou, dried up in the desert, when Zero hides in it. Sam’s body is probably still there.
Later, In a flashback, we see Kate Barlow (a.k.a Kissin’ Kate Barlow) die laughing laying against Sam’s boat. She’s hid her loot in the desert, and Linda and Trout Walker and all of their children will never ever find it.
But the important thing is that even if Sam and Kate Barlow died years apart, their bodies will now lie forever together, as lovers should.

Them in a nutshell:
Tumblr media
As someone who has both anxiety and depression, I feel like this fits them very well.
Mario blames himself alot, hides his sadness, and eventually things get to him (and hard when it does). Meanwhile Luigi tries to be carefree, people pleaser, and often anxious and fidgety especially when away from his bro or in a tight situation.

coincidence??
Idk if it’s just me but the oncelers family’s house and the house from the Pearl/x film trilogy are VERY similar. I could write a whole post with an analysis on the similarities and i have a really good theory that’s really crazy so let me know if you wanna see that because i think i might be onto something.
I Love both of theese movies and I know the are VERY different but there are some similarities i just can’t ignore atp 😭

Ok I know I’m not just overthinking this so hear me out : RECOM QUARITCH SPLIT-BRAIN THEORY
(aka “Colonel Sméagol”)
Avatar has its eye symbolism, right? “I see you?” Waking up from dreams, etc...
But has anybody else noticed this? It’s been bothering me since my first watch.
It’s to do with Recom Quaritch’s eyes and how they are highlighted from scene to scene and character perspective to character perspective and what that implies for which Quaritch has primary or dominant control at each given moment, the implanted one (Human) or the innate one (Na’vi).
Ritch when following the programming from his implanted memories (mostly noticeable when he has his PTSD moments, repeats routines that the human Ritch did like drinking coffee and squad briefings, observes things of interest to the implanted personality and goes berserker or highly emotional), left eye in clear light and/or focus, right eye in shadow or hidden.
Tumblr media
Ritch when deviating from his programming and thinking individually (Mostly noticeable when he’s interacting with Spider or contemplating his next moves or observing and interacting with his environment through Na’vi enhanced senses/technically new eyes), right eye in clear light and/or focus, left eye in shadow or hidden.
Tumblr media
They have full damn control over the lighting and it doesn’t fully follow the lighting directions from the same scenes or sometimes even shots and in many ways the opposite eye is considerably darker than ambient lighting without additional stylistic control would have it be. There’s no way these are accidental. Same goes for the composition.
There’s a symbolism here. There has to be. Maybe highlighting that there’s two people or halves of them in his head fighting for equilibrium or supremacy and they can each have turns taking over as well as working together as one (which is when we see barely any difference in how the eyes are lit or shown or they match the ambient lighting accurately the other exceptions being from the perspectives of characters who are unaware or couldn’t care less about which Quaritch is which). But also indicating that he may have a sort of split-brain but for personality. Two consciousnesses sharing one brain. One in each cerebral hemisphere.
Interestingly the main key behavioural differences between Recom Ritch and Human Ritch most noticeable so far when you watch them closely, are in aspects of the brain (regulation and comprehension of speech and language, working memory, cognitive flexibility, planning, inhibition, abstract reasoning, selecting specific actions in a list of possible actions, mediation of decision making, reorienting of attention, collecting and processing environmental information among many demonstrated) that belong to the left hemisphere that controls the right side of the body and therefore the right eye.
Tumblr media
It gets better...
WHICH SIDE OF THE BRAIN GOT DAMAGED WHEN HUMAN RITCH GOT WRECKED BY THAT VIPERWOLF SO BAD IT WENT THROUGH THE GODDAMN BONE?!
Tumblr media
THE RIGHT SIDE THAT CONTROLS THE LEFT EYE!!!
EYWA, YOU NEON MACHIEVELLIAN CHAD DID YOU SEND THAT DOGGO AFTER MILES QUARITCH SENIOR FOR A TARGETED LOBOTOMY KNOWING WHAT WOULD HAPPEN?!
Now, with this hypothesis in mind, what can we do with it?
Look at each scene to determine who is who when, of course. If that left eye is like a street light take note that you’re likely dealing with the implant. If the right eye has it, it’s probably the innate, if it’s both, neither or barely noticeable, you’re looking at them in equilibrium or near enough.
Taking all that into consideration (again it is just a theory for now I will have to take notes next time I watch from beginning to end like I have every time since I started getting suspicious of this but now I have even more research and possible context behind it), who has Kiri by the throat, who has a gun to Lo’ak’s head, who is telling Jake Neteyam “didn’t have to die”, and who lets Kiri go to save Spider?
It also opens up the possibility if this is a hint towards future events (unlikely but again who knows) THAT THERE’S TECHNICALLY WAYS TO ERASE THOSE IMPLANTED MEMORIES AND PERSONALITY AND GIVE FULL CONTROL TO THE INNATE OR THE IMPLANT because people can still function mostly if not completely normally with a lot of parts of their brains removed or disabled.
________________________________________________
BONUS: Another interesting thing to see that I’m following up with and taking notes on is whether Ritch is left or right handed or a combination of both. Because that is very difficult to actually determine and also has additional possible implications.
Stephen Lang can deliberately play a left-handed character. James Cameron is left-handed. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that it could be a deliberate choice and I need to check through both movies again to see any signs of it.
I’ll keep putting examples and further delvings and discussions under #quaritch split brain theory if people want to go deeper into this with me or follow along.
I might even make some memes with it, who knows?

the truman show is one of the only movies that i can never stop thinking and theorizing about years after watching them.
like, truman didn’t have a real choice at the end. everything he knew was a lie. there was no way he could go back to his life. the illusion would‘ve ended, it wouldn’t be a 'real' reality show anymore.
and i always wonder how he started living in the real world. the world he knew was the 'american dream' with no conflict, how did he react to seeing what goes on in the real world? it would be a completely different reality for him. bro didn’t even know the moon existed. i‘m curious what he learned at school. did he even learn about the solar system? what kind of history was he taught? i‘m so curious about his beliefs about the world, whether he was taught about a god etc.. seeing the moon and the stars for the first time at 30 must be an experience
his life after escaping the set must’ve been exhausting. pretty much everyone around the world knew him, he was probably getting harassed by reporters or those ultra fans we saw in the movie daily. how did he find an apartment? did he find a new job?
i am kinda convinced he would’ve fallen into depression or drugs after escaping to cope with everything. it‘s like his life was doomed from the start, from the moment christof decided to exploit his life for his own profit.

I need everybody to listen up because I have a theory about NATM4 and I’m not sure if anybody else has covered this yet but
Ahkmenrah is MISSING!!!
And I have a theory about why.
Take a look at Disney’s character designs for this movie and compare them to one of their last, super popular AND very funny 2D animated movies..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Two goofy villains, one of which is an older contender for the throne…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A big strong man in a familiar hat…
And more so— take a look at our favorite dramatic royals in tall crowns
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The plot of Emperors New Groove revolves around a king turned into an animal by a jealous contender to the throne… and that is why
I believe we have not seen Ahkmenrah yet in NATM4 trailers because… Seth the god of chaos turns him into an animal.
“But Rae” you all say. “What proof do you have?”
…… THIS:
Tumblr media
Hidden in the background of the very first poster. I believe this little cat could be Ahkmenrah transformed by Seth and Kahmunrah.
But THATS just a theory…. A Raeeee theory— thanks for watching!
That or there’s gonna be a joke about how Nicky forgot to open his sarcophagus and we see Ahk’s eyes on a black background the whole time like “Nicholaaaaasss…. I require assistance!!!! Anyone?…”
Also:

I’m begging for a joke like this guys

I don't do this very often, but i might have some sort of fan theory about Puss In Boots The Last Wish, and it's about him:
Tumblr media
It kinda feels weird seeing him without his so-, i mean, sweater
So hear me out, he might be a spoof of 101 Dalmatians.
Before you guys say anything, i know 101 Dalmatians isn't technically a fairy tale, but the Shrek franchise has often been known to be some kind of Anti-Disney satire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It has also been known to feature some darker and grittier versions of well known characters, so having Perrito's "littermates" being cruel and mean to him would honestly be a great reference to it.
And Perrito having been a victim of attempted murder, verbally insulted, covered with scars, homeless and being totally happy about it definitely feels true to a character in this universe!
What do you guys think?

Loved the Annihilation book, just saw the 2018 movie, and thoughts on the ending. Heavily spoilers, partial ending explanation.
The first moment in the movie I stopped and said “Wait, that makes no sense” is the ending when Lena walks on the beach with the glass trees. Up until this moment I followed with a ‘eldritch cosmic horror being unreality” mindset, but this moment stopped me.
Tumblr media
Because it made no sense to me that there could be any sort of mutation that results in clear, crystalline forms. This movie hammers in that biology is being disfigured, but not non organic forms; we see the old buildings, the boats are practically untouched, old weaponry is usable. So why now with these trees? Minerals don’t have dna to mutate.
But THEN the movies goes on, and Lena is replicated with a green being. And we see the inside of the lighthouse, the underneath with that shimmer black moving WHATEVER, and the creature itself, which is an iridescent green. Then it all makes sense.
Sand is the largest source of silicon in the world, and silicon is the second most abundant element on earth. Sand is also a primary ingredient in glass. Silicon -> Sand -> Glass -> Glass trees.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the best photo I could get of the being underneath the lighthouse, if you’ve seen the movie you know it’s more shimmery, almost liquid, looking identical to the material on the right, which is solid silicon.
Silicon is also used in making computer chips and wafers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Silicon wafers have a holding, greenish iridescent shimmer as well, much like the being that tries to relocate Lena at the climax.
Here’s the thing about Silicons atomic properties. Silicon has 4 valence electrons, and if you remember grade school chemistry, an unreactive, stable atom has 8. So silicon is semi stable, but would really like to bond with other atoms to achieve 8 valence electrons. This basic concept is what makes it a good semiconductor, or a material that easily allows electrons to move through it. There’s a lot more technical science that has to do with it I’ll cut out, but some elements are ‘injected’ into silicon to manipulate these properties, creating a system that allows electrons/electricity/energy to very very easily run through it. A very popular choice is phosphorous.
Tumblr media
I couldn’t get photos of the scene, but Oscar Isaac’s human character self immolates with a PHOSPHORUS grenade. When he destroys himself, it’s a contained, rapid fire that does not spread to his surrounding and dies out fairly quickly. But when the creature is then trapped in a phosphorous blast, it doesn’t dissolve, but continuously burns. The burn doesn’t spread to the regular stone of the lighthouse, but absolutely rips through the underground area and being growing on the side of the lighthouse that the movie has us believe is a living creature, apart of the clone, or obviously at least the same substance that one (aka me) might say is silicon.
Here’s one last thing about silicone properties. The material most related to silicon on the periodic table is carbon.
Tumblr media
All known organic life is made of carbon. Period. If it’s alive it’s carbon. Many traits responsible for why carbon makes life possible is shared with other Group 16 elements. Silicon is the closest Group 16 element to carbon. Therefore, it is hypothesized that any non-carbon based life would have to be made of silicon. Many theories and sci-fi stories play with the idea of an alien life being made of silicon is more environments that can accommodate that.
So back to my initial confusion. I was confused as to why the creature, or the shimmer, or whatever force that is responsible for the movie could make clear, crystalline, glass like trees. It’s ability was clearly stated to genetically mutate living things. But I’m arguing that somehow through sci-fi movie reasons, the creature is silicon based life, or become silicon based upon hitting the sand at the beach, then perhaps adapted into carbon based life.
After this scene, when Lena is being interrogated, she is asked ‘Was it carbon based?’ Imma say that is a very, very relevant question, and maybe the entire point of this line of questions. So cool thing the movie did, it all still makes sense.
End credits: the reason we don’t see silicon based life is it would theoretically require an insane amount of energy to sustain. Doesn’t react with this theory but yo it’s a movie they gotta make it work somehow.

So, I have some theories about Branch's brothers which I would like to share. We don't know for 100% yet (till confirmed by the movie or the books) why exactly the brothers left and never reached out to Branch. We all can guess by now that even though Branch does not remember it (because he was a baby) the brothers were just not happy anymore being in the band. All of them felt under appreciated by their own family and were disappointed, so why continue with the band? I understand that. But why leave and go separate ways? Was the drift so big that they couldn't even stand each other anymore? One can guess that mainly John was probably responsible for the problems in the band because he was so hyper focused on it and did not take anyone's feelings into account. But things were going well before, why did they escalate so suddenly? You could say maybe the fame got to John's head (and it would then actually be a great parallel to Veneer and Velvet) but I like to think maybe there was a cataclysm for everything to come burning and crashing down. An incident that would definitely have long lasting effects on them all: their parent's death. (I don't know how realistic it is that their parents will be brought up in this movie or ever at all, but it is all just speculations of mine anyway and I wanted to talk about them)
It, of course, would have impacted every one of them differently: Floyd strengthening his beliefs about family sticking together through hard times and him looking out for Branch specifically, Clay's want to become more serious and Bruce's want to settle down (because life is just too short to waste time). But I want to take a closer look at John because I think it would have impacted him the most. As the oldest, and already the leader of the band, I think he felt a heavy sense of responsibility and duty towards his siblings after their parent's death. He is supposed to be the stable pillar they can rely on. So, he stops being honest about his feelings. Just gobbles them up, feelings of sadness and fear, hidden deep down for nobody to see. Therefore the only feelings being seen on his face from then on are happiness (like overly happy at times) or anger/frustration with the smallest things. Because it is easier to deal with anger than with sadness. And he starts to kinda furiously concentrate on the band all the time because he needs something to keep his head off of the other things and he kinda loses himself in this. To the point he does not notice the dissatisfaction of his brothers with their situation. So after the disastrous night, they all kinda split up and leave. Because what is even left that is worth staying with their parents gone and their brotherhood very strained? (Branch, but they will discover this fact 2 decades later; but they were all hurt kids and teenagers, so kinda understandable) They definitely have all unresolved issues with each other which will come out eventually, we will wait and see.
I can imagine that John probably blamed himself for all of these events and him wanting to visit Branch but thinking that it is better for him to stay away since he makes everything worse anyway. I can imagine all the other brothers did not reach out also because of guilt and shame leaving him alone with their grandma
So, yeah, that have been some of the thoughts that I had on this subject (maybe I will have more, who knows). I know it is all very angsty, but with this franchise it would not even surprise me

Book of Life theory:General Posada and Joaquin deleted “scenes”
After scrolling through Gorge Gutierrez’s Tumblr blog mexopolis like a totally normal person would guys Im normal I promise,I stumbled upon this thread of Book of Life related designs and scrapped ideas. What caught my attention however, were two rough sketches of young Joaquin- an older kid and a teenager-interacting with General Posada:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These two shots seemingly take place during the music cutscene depicting Manolo and Joaquin growing up.On both of these pictures we can see Joaquin looking self-assured,smug even.Meanwhile Maria’s father has either guarded or concerned face, seemingly because of Joaquin. The shot on the left demonstrates it the best- here Mondragon Jr is training with a mannequin, while Posada tries to guide the boys hand with his,as if to show him the move.General has a displeased expression, but teenage Joaquin has pretty much the “I’m better then you old man” look. These scenes are interesting in a way that in the original movie,we never see General Posada being annoyed with Joaquin, thinking of him as “a son he never had”(he sure does love Maria). So this change in their relationship may have several reasons:
1)Posada started suspecting something was up with Joaquin’s strength that seemingly came out of nowhere. Not knowing about the Medal of Everlasting Life,Maria’s father expressions can be interpreted as a sign of distrust.Perhaps the fact that Captain Mondragon went mad from the medal and chopped off General’s arm(as it was stated in trivia of character wiki) would’ve played a role in it.
2)General felt threatened by Joaquin’s skills. From the movie we know that Posada is quite an arrogant person who rarely listens to others. That is why these scenes can depict General Posada fearing that Joaquin will continue climbing up the hierarchical ladder until the latter takes his position.
Now here comes the most interesting part:the audience knows that General has a few soldiers who are supposed to guard San Angel, but are in fact useless. Why didn't Maria's father assign Joaquim to defend the city with his unit instead of forcing him to stay in San Angel by marrying his daughter? I speculate that the deleted cut of the movie has an answer for that.Keeping the reasons listed above,it is possible that General let Joaquin defend other cities from bandits on purpose,to keep the latter away from him because of uneasiness/jealousy.Only after the bandito’s attacks became more frequent,General decided to use Maria (because let’s be frank, there’s no better word for it)  as an anchor for his best soldier.

KIND OF SPOILERS FOR THR FNAF MOVIE??
I’ve been seeing people talking about how maybe Mike’s dad is Henry and that’s why William took Garrett(I’m wholeheartedly convinced he became the puppet in the movieverse) but also pointing out that he would have known about Freddy’s then
If he was there during the bite or responsible for it like Michael Afton is in the games. I wondered if it’s possible that he blocked out the memory as a trauma response - just fully buried any and all memories revolving around Freddy’s and maybe seeing those memories and traumatic wounds being reopened as he ends up in the fnaf 2 location??????
Idk not much of a theory just a thought I had

⚠️ Spoilers for Pearl (2022) ⚠️
Tbh I felt so bad for Pearl's dad because he literally couldn't do anything to help his wife or daughter and the pain they had to deal with. Also It feels to me that if he could he would've supported Pearl's hobby of dancing and wanting to be famous unlike his wife but he couldn't verbalize that due to his disability, so he just had to sit with that inside him and witness his wife's death and his daughters declining mental health and insanity, feeling like if he could've done something maybe it would all have been avoided.

I'm not convinced Jean Jacket is an ET. I think it's the real apex predator of Earth, home grown.
The species could have been around a long time and we wouldn't know it because of how they hide and camouflage. Plus, the nature of the beast is such that if you see it you die. If you don't die, nobody believes you. The secret continues.
The nature of predators is to be territorial, and OJ proved it was. For a creature that can casually break the sound barrier, that territory must be huge.
Predators are generally vastly outnumbered by their prey.
If it couldn't handle a big balloon popping inside it, I doubt it could withstand the vacuum of outer space.
I think the evidence is on my side. Jean Jacket is no alien. Jean Jacket and its kin belong here. There's one in your area.
What do you think?
