sometimes i feel like such an introvert — i don't want to speak to anyone or for anyone to speak to me. but then i remember topics that i really, 진짜 정말 enjoy talking about and i realize that if someone would let me talk about those things, i would not shut up and would actually gain a lot of energy from that conversation.

but for now, i am also happy with quiet mornings when nobody minds me and i don't have to mind anybody — just enjoying my own world.

hey. have you all heard about this. they’re making a squid game reality tv show. like an actual squid games. have you heard about that. did you hear about amazon also planning a disco elysium tv series, and a life is strange tv series? of course we already have rings of power and then over on HBO we have the last of us and then wherever that shit halo show is streaming. and don’t forget all the star wars spin offs whose taglines are “the revolution will be televised” while being streamed by one of the worst media companies of all time who uses their billions of dollars to support bigots in the government and create military propaganda. have you heard about the booktok industry plant? have you heard about that author who gets their agent to spoon-feed them tropes so they can write the most soulless, bland fanfic that they can then repackage as a YA novel (she’s a new york times best-selling author btw) have you heard about all of that?

the creative industry is so discouraging right now. sometimes i really struggle to find any motivation at all when i see the way certain stories are treated - completely bastardized, milked for all their worth (and then beaten like a dead horse just for good measure) or otherwise you have creators that clearly could not care less, nothing but a cash grab with a pretty coat of paint, usually piggybacking off of trends or just using a pre-existing media (because then you already have a pre-existing fanbase. easy money!) and i’m not going to pretend like i understand how all of it works, what the process is from book/game to movie deal to netflix show but i will say i hate that this is the “goal” now, that this seems to be the expectation with so much art these days, whether the creator wants it or not.

it’s all just so... bleak.

#anyways. sorry i saw the squid games thing this morning and snapped i guess #obviously im under no delusion that any of this would ever apply to tnp or anything i write at all #but it's still really discouraging. it's still hard to find the motivation to create in this kind of grim capitalist environment...#especially when it comes to games which are already underappreciated #and i really dislike the games to movies/shows trend #the level design the mechanics the music the art style all of that is just as integral to the story as the dialogue and narrative itself #games are a way to experience a story it's a different way of telling a story. it loses meaning when you strip that away. imo #as someone who 'makes games' i guess.#like with IF the whole POINT is the player interaction #the choices #and there are so many games out there (literally disco elysium and life is strange) where that's a core mechanic #the last of us it's the opposite #the lack of choice and the railroading of the player is a core mechanic #it's not the same when it's just some actor in a costume. the player is part of the narrative. it's important #sigh. anyways support indie creators i guess #personal

anyways yesterday my phone shut down and turned into a featureless inactive brick for several hours for literally no reason (ah midas curse, how i did not miss thee) so i ended up having to do a hard reset which fixed it but i hope no one tried to contact me about anything important during that time

#the only important thing i lost were my saved contacts which will be a pain to fix bc i didn't have them backed up 🫠#but if anything this is just motivating me to get a physical address book for my contacts which i've been wanting to do for a while anyways #and my music is all on my pc and i only had a few pictures on there which were not important so it really was not a freakout episode for me #if anything the most seamless complete shutdown of an electronic device i've ever had to deal with (happens to me FREQUENTLY)#i'm still so baffled as to what happened bc it was working fine i made some texts and a phone call in the morning #and then i was listening to music while reading and the song ended and nothing else played so i looked at my phone #and it just did not turn on again. literally no prelude no explanation. i was so fuckin confused man. post reset its completely fine too #the midas curse strikes again

IF YOU ARE A SHOWER DIVA, A MIRROR STAR, THE LEADING LADY/MAN/PERFORMER OF YOUR DAILY WALK, YOU LOOK LIKE A SINGER. BECAUSE YOU ARE A SINGER. YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO BE GOOD RIGHT NOW, YOU JUST NEED TO SING. IF YOU EVER, EVER FEEL LIKE YOU ARENT ENOUGH OF A SINGER HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU!

If you love to sing. That's all you need to call yourself a singer. Now get out there (or in there if you aren't comfortable singing in front of people) and belt some tunes. Croon the oldies. Scream your metal. Rock your voice. Because nobody else has one exactly like yours. No matter what, when, where, to who, or how well. You are a singer. You are more than enough.
