Look at the way my hands are open

Awaiting on a world that doesn't care.

All of the memories and the words,

I have written and spoken,

Leave nothing to hold and no room for air.

I've drowned in the feelings of loss

While abandonment has embraced my needs

Yet I try, and I lie, as I raise my hands to a mourning that consoles the deepest parts of my broken heart and untethered soul

Find nothing but comfort in this unending pain and suffering in a world in disarray.

Will I find you there?

I can hold my breath and pray

As time learns to move on without me.

1. A poem that tends to pop into your mind

I We are the hollow men We are the hollow men We are the stuffed men Leaning together Headpiece filled with straw. Alas! Our dried voices, when  We whisper together Are quiet and meaningless As wind in dry grass or rats' feet over broken glass In our dry cellar Shape without form, shade without colour,  Paralysed force, gesture without motion; Those who have crossed With direct eyes, to death's other kingdom  Remember us - if at all - not as lost Violent souls, but only As the hollow men  The stuffed men.  II Eyes I dare not meet in dreams In death's dream kingdom These do not appear:  There, the eyes are Sunlight on a broken column  There, is a tree swinging And voices are  In the wind's singing  More distant and more solemn  Than a fading star. Darkness in my life, but she will always

Notebook, the ink spilled,

And nothing more made sense,

There was something lost,

That could not be discovered,

What there was, was naught,

The sensation of the pen,

Was everything, 

I found you amongst clouds,

The clouds made me realize,

That everything was here,

Yet,

Nothing I could attain,

Would ever amount to this,/

I found,

You in the echo of an empty hallway,

Reverberating, sound,

And all breaking down my walls,

My voice,

Uncovered to a touch early,

5 Things. I was tagged by @aaronawbra to write 5 things I like about myself:

1. I like the way my mind returns to second childhood at the smell of autumn leaves or smoke from a distant fire.

2. I like the unbearable tension that overwhelms me when a trembling idea forms words and my mind is held captive until that nagging poem eventually forms.

3. I like it when I can feel tremendous honesty with another person where my soul breaks open and I shake from the beautiful vulnerability of feeling their thoughts, of being perfectly understood in that moment.

4. I like the way my eyes betray what my heart feels.

5. I like the way my children and students bring out my best self- the selfless, loving person I wish to be all time, especially when no one is watching.
