Self-promotion edition!

Rules: It’s time to 💛 yourselves! Choose your 5 favourite works you created in the past year (fics, art, edits, etc.) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the 🌍 in 2019. Tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original) so we can spread the 💛 and link each other to awesome works!

1. A Peculiar Engagement. This is one of my popular fics, but also my longest (and sauciest) fic to date. It originally started out after @burgundydahlia gave me the idea to throw a bunch of different fanfic tropes into a single story, and see how I interpret them. Judging from the reactions I got, I think I did a good job.

2. Hoops and Hyacinths, part 1. My other big series of 2019. This was my first attempt at writing a multi-chapter Luna/Ginny fic, as well as an AU fic. Personally, I think I dragged my heels too much in the early chapters, and lost much of my readerships interest as a result. However, in part 2 (which I hope to write sometime over the next two years) will be a lot more plot-driven, and will hopefully be a lot more engaging to read.

3. Dark Lord Hermione Granger AU. I don’t usually write AU angst, but this was a concept I really liked playing with. While it physically pained to write the reason why Hermione became a dark lord/lady/sorcerer, I think it was important to show just how brittle her sense of morality actually is, and how a single specific event could start her off on the slippery slope to becoming a dictator.

4. Lessons Learned. This was only a short little fic, but I love the idea of Ron being the dad!figure in the Gryffindor boys dormitory. It also made me think about how -in this way- Ron’s wealth of positive male role models is actually something unique to him in the dormitory, as none of the other boys really had much (that we know of) in the way of that.

5. Drinks on a rooftop. Personally, I think Lavender Brown’s reputation needs to be repaired in this fandom, and that’s one of the reasons why I wrote this fic. Also, background Pavender, Ronarry + Romione, Linny + Hinny, and a healthy platonic friendship between Ron and Lavender. You know what they say; if you can’t find the fic you want, create it yourself.
