We often call the writings of EGW the Spirit of Prophecy, and I believe this is correct. However, did you know that in referring to Simeon in the Temple, she referred to him having the Spirit of Prophecy? . The term is not unique to just her. It also includes the writings of the Bible. I’ve seen some try to throw out her writings or even just demote them because she’s a sinner. . Grace is an element of God’s character we cannot live without. Even the wicked experience the result of God’s grace, in that He lets them live because He wants them to seek Him. . By the grace of God, I will speak out against sin until the very end. I’ve been called legalistic and heartless multiple times. People misunderstand that speaking out against sin is not condemning those who practice those sins. It’s not my job to condemn. However, as an ordained elder of God’s Remnant church, it is my job to preach and teach His Word. Therefore, I will speak out against sin, because sin will take us straight to the lake of fire if we don’t repent. What bothers me so incredibly much is when I see those who fancy themselves SDA here in IG or other social media downplaying the writings of EGW, teaching others to do the same. They treat her as if she’s less inspired than the Bible writers. . But if the Holy Spirit inspired both, how could one be less inspired than the other? . Did Jesus consider John the Baptist to be less inspired than Isaiah? After all, John the Baptist didn’t write any of the Bible, but Isaiah did. But EGW didn’t write in the Bible either. . Ah that’s right. It’s because most of those who downgrade EGW do so because they know her writings condemn some practice in their life and it makes them feel better about their sinful course. . These most precious writings were given to us by God Himself to prepare us for the end time. And if those of us who are SDA reject her writings, or downgrade them due to love of sin, we are not preparing for the soon coming crisis and it will find us unready. Those who refuse to be hewed by the prophets and fail to purify their souls in obeying the whole truth, and who are willing to believe that their condition is far better than it really is, will come up to the time of the falling of the plagues, and then see that they needed to be hewed and squared for the building. But there will be no time then to do it and no Mediator to plead their cause before the Father. Before this time the awfully solemn declaration has gone forth, “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.” I saw that none could share the “refreshing” unless they obtain the victory over every besetment, over pride, selfishness, love of the world, and over every wrong word and action. The truth that as a man “thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7), finds another illustration in Israel's experience. On the borders of Canaan the spies, returned from searching the country, made their report. The beauty and fruitfulness of the land were lost sight of through fear of the difficulties in the way of its occupation. The cities walled up to heaven, the giant warriors, the iron chariots, daunted their faith. Leaving God out of the question, the multitude echoed the decision of the unbelieving spies, “We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.” Numbers 13:31. Their words proved true. They were not able to go up, and they wore out their lives in the desert. Ed 149.1 . Two, however, of the twelve who had viewed the land, reasoned otherwise. “We are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30), they urged, counting God's promise superior to giants, walled cities, or chariots of iron. For them their word was true. Though they shared with their brethren the forty years’ wandering, Caleb and Joshua entered the Land of Promise. As courageous of heart as when with the hosts of the Lord he set out from Egypt, Caleb asked for and received as his portion the stronghold of the giants. In God's strength he drove out the Canaanites. The vineyards and olive groves where his feet had trodden became his possession.
