The brotherhood feels like a rowdy collage frat house and Macaque is the one guy who’s only really there for the academic support and connections.

wanna know something I kinda hope for aleast the next season of Monkie kid
That they include the character the flood king who is flood king well he was also a sworn brother of sun wukong it said his full name in jttw is
The Flood Dragon (Salamander) Demon King
and from what I know right now there is barely much info of him
(also yes wukong was sworn brothers with a dragon as it seems)
you may assume he may never be a character but I disagree cause of this bit here
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is a extra chair no one is using
I can only assume it’s flood kings chair but my question is where has he gone? Where is he then it started to get more confusing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next few shots his chair is gone like it didn’t exist this could be a error but I don’t think so i think it’s important and I hope we see him soon it would be so cool to see the flood king

Day 26: Beauty and the beast
Fun fact:
This was supposed to be Pigsy and Tang, but I changed my mind because I decided that I would practice drawing these characters.

Thoughts on LEGO Monkie Kid, pacing, and season 5
I’m taking this from Twitter, but basically this thread about “Say something BAD about the show Monkie Kid” came up and my biggest gripe so far has been :  The show has way too short episodes. Like, 11min30. And tries to do SO MUCH in those 11min30 that either somethings get scrapped (DBFamily but not just that) or big important elements get solved way too fast (Samadhi fire and broken scroll among other things). And it steams I think from the fact that the show went from episodic to serialised while keeping the same amount of time.
I ramble :  I see a lot of newcomers say that they jumped s1 and 2 and really started with s3/4, and while everyone has their reasons I think that’s silly Because that format is what made me love the characters and settings in the first place. The episodes are short, so the show can only focus on a tiny thing, but sprinkled LBD being a menace throughout the season, with the spider gang being a menace. And now ? lBD is still reveared as one of the best villains, and Spidergang is still very appreciated. Same thing for DBF : Red Son was slowly developed through s1, and returned on s3 Granted he wasn’t in s2, but since he was a major part of s1, and the spider queen special, we grew to care about him and the family to an extent. Because that’s what the show is good at ! Characters interactions, character personalities, CHARACTERS !! And now, the show is going for serialised, which is great and maintains attention, but it wants to do too much with the same amount of time: - In s2 : LBD took 10 ep to build her mech. MK started slowly to grow, and his relationships were explored one ep at a time. Slowly. - In s4 : we lose SWK, MK meets Azure, we learn about Tang, Pigsy and Sandy through their ancestors, we start to question MK’s existence, Monkey MK, the scroll is a menace, Azure betrays the group, MK loses his mentor and morale, DBF is important but scrolled, the JE is defeated and BAM world explodes we have to kill God in 4 episodes now.
Granted for the characters as well it feels rushed. We don’t have to see everything either. Of course. They have a life outside the show. And overall they did a good job in those 11 bloody minutes 30.
But
But
But.
Now that we have a bit of breathing room, maybe it’s time to have that character moment by episode we’ve been asking for instead of cramming feelings and heartfelt conversations in an episode while the world is teared apart outside. Especially since we’ve seen the characters go through hell for a whole season. MK needs to breath but he isn’t the only one. We could have an episode on Red Son and his time in the scroll, an episode on MK going monkey a whole episode, an episode on SWK and Macaque in coloc, an episode on Tang Pigsy and Sandy trying to get back to their lives since they’re the most normal of the bunch - technically (cuz apparently having episodes focused on them in s4 wasn’t enough to have conversations about it but that’s a gripe i have with the community for LATER). We could have SWK and DBF reminisce on their time together, since DBK is one of the last friend that doesn’t QUITE hate him anymore, or an episode on how Nezha starts rebuilding Heaven by himself while keeping the JE power safe, or an episode on Mei just being awesome honestly, like just Mei observing MK going insane and being the girlboss she is, especially since she went through the whole “excess power that could kill everyone you love” and is still living with that, in a way. That could answer where the Samadhi fire business went. Cuz like in real life some things are tamed but don’t disappear, she might still be struggling but has learned to live with it. And MK is going through a similar path. We could also have Red Son in this one since he’s honestly the most controlled in a way.
And through all that… discretly… the world starts to break apart again ? Tears appear and with it new monsters and ghosts of the past maybe start seeping from the Underworld ? Maybe an unmasked man tries to prevent Mk’s attemps at coming back to some normal because as long as he’s confused and scared he stays the Harbinger of Chaos ? Idk ! TL:DR A lot of critics I see sum up as « They should show this more, why did THIS disappear out of nowhere, this is wasted potential », which seeps from the show not having time to show all that happens at once. Maybe it’s time to take a breather and tackle the problems one at a time again, ep by ep, like in season 2. And then go back to « We’re all gonna die in 4 episodes » to get the panic back on track.
Anyway Please come talk to me about the show and your theories, or headcanons about what the characters are doing now that the wreck of S4 has rolled past them. I wanna talk about my babies some more...

Ranking The Brotherhood on how good with kids I think they are.
(Listen my homework is depressing me and I want a break so here we go)
No. 1: Demon Bull King: Listen it’s not just because he’s a Dad™️ ok! You cannot convince me otherwise that he didn’t spoil the ever loving heck outta Red Son as a baby. He loved that little boy and would not hesitate to slaughter anyone who dared even looked at his son the wrong way. Sure, nowadays he has a few missteps but the love and care is still present. He’s not perfect but he’s the best of them all. 9/10—He stumbles a bit but he means well.
No. 2: Six-Eared Macaque: He’s the Go-To Babysitter and the Designated Driver™️ of the Brotherhood. He will care for any child if he needs to. Sure he might just feed them junk food or frozen stuff but hey, that’s better than nothing. He’s the Fun Uncle and kids just flock to him. 8/10—He tells really great bedtime stories too.
No. 3: Yellow-Tusk the Wise: He’s the standard. He’ll make sure the kids are fed, clean, and content but his idea of a “fun, engaging activity” is reading the Dictionary and discovering new words or something. If you need a babysitter fast he’s your reluctant go-to. 6/10—The kids will be asleep when you get home on account of how boring he was!
No. 4: Azure Lion: He’s not that great with young kids but the older they get the easier it is for him. He can talk to them more easily. He will not know what to do with a baby. He will hold it at arms length and just be terrified out of his mind. But he will also try to speak all “hip” to the older kids and fail spectacularly. 5.5/10—He definitely pronounces Meme as Me-Me.
No. 5: Golden-Winged Peng: I know in the OG Journey to the West they have a nephew—but would you let them around your nephew? They laughs anytime the kid falls over and has insulted several children to their faces. And that’s the easy stuff. 3/10—They May or May Not have dropped a kid once and it May or May Not have been an accident.
No. 6: Sun Wukong: What is wrong with you?! You trust this absolute disaster of an immortal with your children?! Do you hate your children or something? He’s never known illness or the true concept of death so what’s he going to do. He won’t actively try and kill the kid but man he doesn’t have to he’s that bad. 1/10—The other Monkeys on FFM are alive today because of pure instinct and little to no input from this monkey and no one can convince me otherwise.

I’m continuing my LMK rewatch as I draw and naturally it’s A Lifetime Of Mistakes so I’m not getting anything done but as I reached the point where they found Wukong, I finally took the time to stop and see what the other flashes of gold memories were. (I feel a little stupid for not finding this sooner)
There are two which are really obvious just looking at them— the one with the Jade Emperor and the one where a younger Wukong offers Macaque a peach (this one breaks me every time I see it my god). I was hoping that looking harder would give us a glimpse of what happened with Macaque because boy, wouldn’t that be something.
What I found:
Tumblr media
The first quick flash is, upon further inspection, Wukong fighting DBK. I wasn’t entirely sure who it was at first, but you can see the horns and once you realize who it is, you can’t unsee it. I’ve always assumed along with the fandom that he felt regret for burying his sworn brother, but seeing it confirmed… makes me sad.
Tumblr media
The second one also took me a bit to figure out, but it’s Wukong under the mountain, I assume after his argument with Macaque. Obviously he felt something after this, but man, to know that it’s haunted him?
Tumblr media
The third one is only abs and the smallest hints of what looks like hair, but I’ve concluded from the hair that it’s Azure. After seeing that Wukong regrets even putting away his friends that did things to ‘earn’ their imprisonment, you can’t tell me that monkey isn’t completely different from who he used to be. He’s haunted by mistakes he made— his argument with Macaque, crossing the Jade Emperor— but he’s also haunted by the fact that for someone who was so fixated on protecting those he cared about, he ended up putting most of them away.
Peng and Yellow Tusk went to the Scroll of Memory, Azure went to the Underworld, and DBK was trapped under a mountain (and maybe also imprisoned in the Underworld). Hell, he even only imprisoned the Lady Bone Demon (although I wonder if he would even have been able to kill her). Macaque, his best friend, was the only one that wasn’t spared. You’re telling me that Wukong’s biggest life regrets are imprisoning all of his former friends, going against the Jade Emperor, and arguing with his best friend, even if it ended their relationship? Compared to killing him? No. There’s something else.
And the show writers still won’t tell us what happened. We KNOW what happened with the other four and can justify their imprisonment, but they’re hiding what happened between Macaque and Wukong for a reason.
Every textpost I make eventually turns into a theory about what happened between Wukong and Macaque and how Wukong may or may not have been in control of his body when he killed Macaque (or left him for dead), so I’ll end it here before it goes too far, but I’m still thinking. Hopefully season five will give us a much-wanted (much-deserved) flashback or at least show us what happened.
