CRWBY designed such a beautiful and badass character like Sienna Khan and did nothing with her and she existed for all of one scene (with some added in Adam's short after the fact but the damage was done). It's a reflection of RWBY when you think about it; all style and no substance.

at the end of the day, that's all rwby is. it's like jelloapocalypse said, rwby's writing likes to "fly by the seat of its oversized clown pants"

it's just tossing in tons of cool ideas but never fully developing any of them.

racism against animal-people? cool idea, never fully developed.

adam and blake's relationship/dynamic being like malcolm x and martin luther king jr.? cool idea, never fully developed.

class wars with mantle vs atlas? cool idea, never fully developed.

having the main four girls realize their privileges in growing up in safe/wealthy areas unlike our villains (cinder/mercury/emerald/adam/ilia/etc.)? cool idea, never fully developed.

we see cinder make some comments about this to weiss in v8 but nothing really ever comes out of it.

we see tyrian's "you interest me" comment to jaune in v4. maybe some sort of comment on his semblance and how their semblances are opposites? cool idea, never fully developed.

there are series that, within one season, have done more with their characters than rwby has done with their characters in eight seasons.

like arcane, which developed caitvi's relationship (and their attraction to each other) more in one season than b/umbleby's "slowburn" relationship did in eight seasons.

like artiswitch, which developed nina's problems and shortcomings as a main character more in one season than rwby did with ruby in eight seasons.

it sucks because rwby could be so great if they just picked ideas and stuck with them and developed them. but they keep jumping from one concept to the next and add nothing new... there are no new spins on these ideas they have.

i rambled a bit, but i hope my points make sense. this show could've been so much more if it just had some focus.

All I can think is that line from httyd 2.

Thinking about how MA Raph would look at Mona, hunched in and turning her head so Raph doesn't look at her scars. He gets closer and she backs away. "I'm not the same as you remember Raphael. I'm-...not as beautiful as you remember ."

Raph would gently touch her jaw to turn her head and look at him, to see the same love and devotion in his eyes all these years later.

How did the fam feel about Leo moving in with Koya in the Prime au?

well... Leo didn't tell them until the day he was moving out. he knew that they (Donnie, April, and Raph) would try to dissuade him, stating some random stuff about his night terrors, or how the unfamiliarity might do weird things, etc. etc. etc.

which Leo knows is bull, because Raph was the first to move out, yet no one made a fuss when he did. years later, and they still treat him like glass

yeah it actually really bugs me, honestly.

like. korrasami is not my favorite tlok ship. catradora is not my favorite spop ship. in fact, i have issues with both ships and criticisms of how they were written.

but to say that "Catradora was well written and satisfying and korrasami was not" is fucking stupid because korrasami walked so catradora could run. korrasami was one of the first mainstream animated queer ships to actually go canon. korrasami wasn't as well-written as it could've been because nickelodeon censored the fuck out of it.

like. it's very clear that korrasami could have been written well and written into the show itself if not for network censorship. to claim catradora is better without looking at both ships from the lens of how queer representation has evolved and how queer representation is more accepted now is disingenuous/ignorant at best, and intentionally harmful at worst.

i'm not saying korrasami is the best representation there ever was. and i'm not saying catradora is the best representation there ever was either. i just made a post to compare two ships i enjoy seeing content of, and got random assholes in my notes calling me a moron for not admitting korrasami is bad writing... for some reason.

but whatever, their stupidity and lack of nuance is none of my business.

Most inspiration comes from 1987 and IDW Mona, but with some 2012 Mona sprinkled in there too.

Mona-Lisa Abayan got unexpectedly mutated 2 years prior to Tentative Devotee-- and-- well, shit, this ain't good. TL;DR - Her parents didn't take this well, Mona decides to run away. Also, do not worry, she will not be removed from the story just because Usagi's likely gonna be included.

A perfect example is in the 2012 series when Raph began threatening Bishop when he insulted and blamed Mona for everything that was happening.

He blamed her for Dregg invading Earth and proceeded to call her stupid, Raph was not gonna let that slide and immediately stepped in to defend his woman!
