I hope this doesn't come off as a strange or rude question but as an artist I wonder who are the descriptors for? If it was for the blind 'blue' and 'warm' and visual descriptors of textures would only be useful to those who have lost their sight. Most descriptions feels like putting words and interpretations onto something that doesn't have them (like calling a nuanced expression on a character 'angry'). Poetry or a journal excerpt from the artist feels like it would carry the feeling of the piece more. It hurts a little when a piece that emotionally resonates with me is boiled down to a sentence, but I am autistic and are thus probably too overly empathetic to inanimate pieces.

I ask this question in order to understand why image descriptors are important. Any stories on how the descriptors have helped people would also be nice. I hope the question doesn't offend anyone. I hope you all have a good day!

Hi there! Descriptions are for all kinds of people. First of all, not everyone who is visually impaired has 0 vision. Many have some level of blurry/cloudy vision. Even someone fully blind from birth benefits from image descriptions. "Warm" and "cool" are relative, and so are colors! Color language can help understand the mood, the artist's intention, and the "vibe" of the piece. Even without seeing the colors, the general intent and understanding behind color language can be understood. I hope that makes sense? Sorry, I'm not great with words. I guess what it all comes down to is giving more information about the image so it can be better 'seen' and understood.

It may be difficult to see art that resonates with you be reduced to a text description, but would you rather that person not be able to experience it at all? Descriptions make it so more people can experience a work of art. Including a journal or poetry entry may carry more emotional weight, but that still leaves the original artwork inaccessible. Would you rather someone show you a painting, or give you a journal entry and say "this is what this painting means" without having any context of what the painting looks like?

In terms of expressions and the like specifically, I have definitely had an issue with assigning an emotion to an expression instead of describing it in a more objective way. I struggle with finding the words to describe each facial feature individually, so I fall back on emotion descriptors instead. That's something I'm trying very hard to remedy lately! Even so, an imperfect image description is better than none! Without one, it may as well be a blank post.

Ultimately, the goal is making it so more people are able to enjoy it! It can be helpful for visually impaired people, anyone using a screen reader, people with bad internet (for when the image wont load), and anyone who may have trouble discerning what the artwork depicts. i am fully aware that the scattered au is long dead. i just cannot get the idea of mumbo not wanting to leave the mansion out of my head. Alternate version where iskall finds the woodland mansion and doesnt see mumbo first.

Brain just spat this out "I want TotK / We have TotK at home" because I noticed an old favorite mod just updated. This is TotK at home:

It's actually really cool. It is also really really freaking big. These are only a fragment of a fragment of the areas you can access, to say nothing of all the hidden goodies spread across Skyrim in vanilla dungeons and areas. Or things you can craft. Or the mobs that spawn as well with their own loot drops.

The fact that there's Yiga mooks running around makes it especially funny to me.

(Part of the updates since I last looked include Minish Cap stuff like kinstones, the Rod and Harp from the Oracle games (yessss), and more Temples in the shattered Daedric remnants of Hyrule.)

i promise i have not abandoned my builds, i did not mean to post a teaser then run asdfghjk shortly after my last post, my laptop went into the shop for like three weeks and i've been feverously trying to clean out some of my cc since it got back

the cleaning is futile because i have like over 27k of mods because i have a problem though i did manage to reduce my mods folder by like 5gb so that's nice at least

#she avoids mentioning her mods folder is still like 120gb #anyway im almost done with my cas stuff so i can do my final run throughs of my files in game and clear out broken things and recolors #which no longer have base meshes and what not #my sims 4 game is....Very Large #like comically so #i'd consider starting from scratch but the issue with that is like i've been collecting mods since the game came out #so i have some really old things that have since been wiped from the internet which is both a blessing and a curse #my mods folder is so big because i am very scattered in what i like to do when im in game do i want to do a period build do i want to make #wow characters in cas do i want to play do i want to stage a cute photoshoot like i've got like 4 different games in here dsfghjk

So the recent Scattered!AU post inspired me to talk about this. I saw your arctic fox!Grian and raise you an articubo!grian. Or at least some form of ice bird with ice feathers. Because hybrids are already adapted players in a way the code has to work within they're current configuration. There were no bird mobs appropriate for an ice biome so it settled for the next best thing. Turning Grian half ice/snow. He now melts in heat, accidentally freezes things if not careful, and STILL gets cold. D:

The cold and ice doesn't hurt him anymore, but he still feels it. He can't get warm. At temperatures above freezing, his feathers start to melt away, painfully- and he's not sure if they'd ever grow back, if they melted entirely. Or if the rest of him would be safe. No, better to stick to the cold, where he knows he can survive now. Even if the chill reaches down to his bones and he can't stop shivering.

I have a handful 👀

-There's a sizeable age gap between them, at least 5 years and at most 10. This is because Hop is a rainbow baby (this also ties back to my other hc about his name being a misspelling of "hope").

-This also would mean Leon has likely been Galar's Champion for as long as Hop has been alive, which probably explains his intense idolisation.

-I like to imagine Leon being around 21/22 at the time of the games, having first won the Championship at 11/12, making him one of the youngest champions in the Pokémon world.

-Their family name is Dutta (no reason, I just think it fits)
