mazu - chinese goddess and patroness of the sea

inari okami - japanese kami of foxes, of fertility, rice, tea and sake, of agriculture and industry, of general prosperity and worldly success, and one of the principal kami of shinto

tsukuyomi - japanese moon god, part of the divine trio along with amaterasu and susano

tu’er shen - chinese deity who manages the love and sex between homosexual people

the only god from this list i can’t imagine being added to smite is tu’er shen but the others are totally gonna be added in later, i’m planting the seed and i will see the harvest lmao

What flowering plants can you think of that would possibly lay down like how hair does? Like, for a nature spirit character's hairdo?

Hey Nonny!

There are quite a lot of options for your characters to choose from, although not all of them are flowering. Just like actually blue plants, hanging plants are quite a rarity.

Here is a post about hanging green plants

Also the string of hearts plant, green-ish as well but very lovely to look at

Jasmine in all of its real forms (aka every plant with the genus Jasminum)

Stephanotis

Algea and kelp for water spirits

There are also hanging geraniums, however, I would not recommend them for a spirit that lives in a windy region as they would break easily

Bleeding hearts

The following plants would work well for natural black hair and generally bushy hair:

Campanula

Petunia

Hydrangea (either as a whole or dried in little tuffs)

Elderberry

Coleonema

Achillea millefolium

Firecracker (Russelia equisetiformis // for fire spirits)

Blackberry (thorny but cool)

Gloriosa

In case you have a spirit with blue hydrangea hair, you could specify this spirit’s plants to be solely growing in acidic soil, which is also what gives a hydrangea their blue or lilac colour instead of red, white or pink. Here’s a post about acidic plants if you want to have an idea what other plants to associate with them.

For short hair, we would suggest the following. As a lot of creepers put out runners as well they would also work for long straight hair:
