NIGHTWING PROFILES: Chris Kent/Lor-Zod
1st Nightwing Appearance: Action Comics vol. 1 #875 (2009) Other mantles: Superboy Secret identity: Christopher Kent is the adopted son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane
ORIGINS
Lor-Zod is the son of General Zod and his partner, Lieutenant Ursa, the enemies of Superman. He is known by his adopteé name Christopher Kent. After stopping Zod and Ursa's invasion of Earth, Superman adopts him into the Kent family. Chris takes a different path than his parents and becomes a crime fighter.
After Chris returns to the Phantom Zone in order to prevent the Kryptonian prisoners there from ever escaping again, his body experiences an unusual side effect and ages into young adulthood. Looking for a means of escape, he goes to Fort Roz, where he finds Non, who provides him with shelter from the Phantom Zone prisoners. Whilst there, Chris finds his father's laboratory containing Brainiac Probes from Brainiac's attack on the city of Kandor long ago. Using the equipment, an accident happens: Chris makes contact with Thara Ak-Var, who happens to be located in Kandor after it was restored to its original size and is already connected to the Kryptonian God Flamebird.
Since Chris isn't used to talking mind-to-mind with Thara, he is left in incredible pain, which allows other inmates to find his whereabouts. Chris is then captured and tortured by his father. Only hope and his connection to Thara keep him alive during the torture.
Thara saves Chris, using a Phantom Zone Projector, which allows her to fight off the Kryptonian prisoners. After freeing Chris, she is attacked by Non, but Chris begs his friend to let them escape.
Since the danger isn't over yet, and Thara knows that the thousands of Kandorians in the physical world pose a great threat to Earth, she joins Chris in becoming a crime fighter. Thara and Chris adopt the code names of two legendary Kryptonian heroes, Flamebird and Nightwing.
As Nightwing, Chris actively patrols several American cities.
Appears as Nightwing in: Action Comics vol. 1 #875-#879 (2009), Supergirl: The Hunt for Reactron, World Against Superman, World's Finest Book One: Nightwing & Red Robin (2009)
TRIVIA
Chris was born in the Phantom Zone. The unique nature of his birth makes him the only occupant of the Phantom Zone that can retain his physical form throughout the dimension.
As a result of his birth, Chris isn't considered a pure Kryptonian but a mutant due to being born in the Phantom Zone and being exposed to the effects of that dimension.
During the time he spends with his biological parents, Chris suffers many forms of abuse.
At first, Lois refuses to adopt Chris. However, after Chris saves her from getting killed by Bizarro, Lois changes her mind and welcomes the kid into the family.
Lois chooses the name “Christopher” for Lor Zod.
So Chris could have a normal life growing up, Superman asks Batman Superman to develop a watch-scale Red Sun radiation projector that could be used to suppress Chris' powers.
After watching Robin's acrobatic skills (Tim Drake), Chris developed an interest in Tim that turns into a close friendship.
Chris isn't proud of his heritage and insists on being addressed by his human name.
Non is the only person in the Phantom Zone that treated Chris with kindness.
Chris Kent is emotionally bonded to the Flamebird entity and its host Thara as she is to the Nightwing entity within him.
The first thing Clark teaches Chris is how to fly.
In Injustice: Gods Among Us (2013), Chris appears in his Nightwing guise as a support card in the setting of the mobile version of the fighting video game.
He was supposed to become Nightwing in Kingdom Come, but that didn’t come to pass. Later the Alex Ross design appeared on several covers but only one interior page.
In The Multiversity: The Just (2014) #1 Chris is Clark’s biological son and his Superman successor.
In Countdown: Arena (2008), Chris is Buddhist.
Chris appears as Lor-Zod in Young Justice Season 4. It’s his first multimedia appearance.
Apart from the pre-New 52 main universe, Chris has appeared in three different Earth 16 universes.

Little overview of the Library of Ruina Mods I've tried and beat...
E.G.O Malkuth: Pretty insane actually, implementing the mechanics of Malkuth Breakdown into an RPG combat is pretty wild. Having randomized combat dice and then later the inability to cancel your actions is pretty extreme, but the fight is balanced enough that a late-game team can handle it without too much difficulty. The pages are interesting too, synergizing well with Malkuth while also adding a few mechanics from her Lobotomy counterpart. I'd say 8/10 because it's a bit long. Apparently, this is meant to be the first of a series that will go for all patron librarians, so I'm curious to see where the next go
Thorn workshop: well balanced that one. The "Thorn" mechanics is interesting. It's a reverse build: YOU gain stacks, and the enemy takes damage when they hit you. This is enough of a difference to make it interesting tho. First, it makes mass attacks VERY dangerous to use, because you will take damage for every character hit. It also requires you to not focus on a single target, as if the other can buff their thorn counter too long, you'll likely take too much damage later. 8/10 too, because while mechanically it was well-rounded, it was a pretty standard battle all things considered.
Librarian of Death: Very dramatic battle, with a nice reward (bad end angela becomes playable), and the battle has a nasty trick. In the first phase, you'll only be able to use one librarian, so you'll go for "Lone Fixer" passive or something of the sort, but then in the second Phase, Angela joins you, screwing you over... The mechanic here is about stopping Dark Angela from regaining light, which will debuff her. 9/10, because I really liked Angela confronting what she could have become. I wonder if there is a similar mod for Roland.
Myo E.G.O : Okay, that one is narratively sound but mechanically silly. Myo come back once more, and challenge the library alone, gaining her E.G.O, which is a "death by a thousand cut" build with "the myongest" passives built in. Instead of infinity dice, she gets two 99 initiative dice per turn and the power boost. She got many cards that can add attack dice by consuming charges, and a very powerful attack that is clearly her version of "vertical split". I had to pull Gorilla Yesod + Librarian of Death to defeat her, and by a hair breath. The reward is insane tho, because of her passive stack with the Myongest, meaning you can have someone hitting with +10 power for at least 2 die, likely 3... I'd give it 7/10, I feel this is too insane and unbalanced, but love the concept and the story.
E.G.O Philip : This one is an alt timeline where Philip didn't become the crying children (there's actually another with the same premise). It's interesting to see Philip explored in a more positive light. Mechanically this mod also has a few interesting concepts: Philip will select 1 dice from your librarians, and using a combat card on these dice will cause you 3 burns. That's a cool concept, altering the properties of your cards depending on which die you use. But I feel it's not explored to its fullest, and 3 burns can be ignored if you reliably win the clashes against Philip... Which I did thanks to E.G.O Myo (yeah I have no regret). 6/10, Maybe a bit more interactions with the dice stuff would have been cool. Still a good mod.
E.G.O Walter : I gotta admit that Walter wasn't a character I expected to see come back with an E.G.O, but why not. His story is about realizing that he has nothing left and so he should do things for himself and to assert his existence or something... He bumps his defensive abilities VERY high, doubled with a buff that gives him 90% damage reductions. But he lose a stack of these every time one of his block dice lose, and after that, he got weakened defense for a few turns. Now, that one I didn't fight fair and square: I used the Netzach strategy to make green boy untargetable, then clashed JUST enough to break his buff, and then kept hitting him 3 times. The result is he could do nothing and I wilted him down... OVER 3 minutes, because he had a fuckton of HP. How is anyone supposed to win that one without bullshit? I give this one 5/10, because the numeric values of this fight are truly unbalanced...
Overall these were fun. Really liked them, eager to see others. I have to move forward on the Da'at mod & finish the Pinkie first.

I love the design of this fight. It reminds me a lot of yesod core supression now that I think about it. being too comfortable the whole game with the information given to you for free and then suddenly it got taken away.

Anyone got any good LoR mods recomendations? I know there's a bunch of great ones out there but it seems that all I can find is just "my super original EGO OC that has 9~15 rolls on every dice and gets 10 power per turn"

I wrote a little, vaguely local58 inspired thing abt the world’s worst ship captain
Magolor threw himself against the wheel, voice long since hoarse from his continued pleas. Caterwauling, he slammed into the steering console again, watching the ship go round and round through the thick smog. It seemed as though every moment, another fireball hit the hull, electronics sparking and hissing while Magolor struggled to hang on during the ship’s briefest lapses in control. She wouldn’t listen to him. Instead, the ship just wavered and spun, her voice hissing a monotonous dial tone that made his ears ring.
“YOU ARE STILL ON THE FASTEST AVAILABLE ROUTE. MAKE A U-TURN.”
Magolor wrestled with the controls again, chest hot from his labored breathing, sweat dripping down his neck. He gritted his teeth and held on for dear life.
“PROCEED TO THE ROUTE. IN 500 FEET
MAKE A U-TURN. PROCEED TO THE ROUTE. PROCEED TO THE ROUTE. PRO—-“
A final slam against the hull made the ship go dark, Magolor sent flying off the wheel and into the wall with a crunch. Something wet and metallic filled his mouth, and he frantically tried to wipe away the tears and spots of blood pooling at the corners of his lips as he struggled to stand. He could feel the floor lurch beneath him, space visibly rushing by even through the thick fog. The roars of the quadruplet dragons were fading, the fire still pouring out every window as Magolor struggled to breathe and make his way back to the captain’s chair. Everything was sparking, lighting up the dark as something strange and blue and ethereal opened up past the bow. Magolor paled, trying futilely to crawl and take back the wheel before they were swallowed completely by the void. A strangled cry escaped his throat as, before he could move, the chaos outside gave way to a beautiful, sky-blue starscape. The lights came back on just as Magolor felt his own vision fading. A voice reassured him.
“YOU HAVE ARRIVED AT YOUR DESTINATION.”`
