This is a ghost story/horror genre (not too scary) multi-chapter story set in the wonderful Co-Captains time before everything went to hell.

Welcome to this year's (slightly belated) Kenfetti Week, returning for our second encore! The last two years' events have been delightful and we're proud to continue the trend for our third year running, with a few modifications.

As mentioned in a previous post, Kenfetti Week 2023's dates have changed yet again, as time, capitalism, and plague are unrelenting forces hellbent on on wreaking havoc upon the various mods' schedules. This year, Kenfetti Week will run from July 9th-July 15th (all overlap with Sub Cody Week is entirely coincidental but extremely hilarious) and all works will be due by July 1st. Prompts suggestions are now open, you can submit them here, and will be open through May 15th, after which submissions will be closed and the mods will combine and condense them into our now-familiar themed prompts for each day of Kenfetti Week. As noted in the Google Form, please submit only one prompt at a time but feel free to use the form as many times as you have prompts to submit!

Hey anon! Great question, and it prompted some discussion between the mods.

For the specific Bylerween Week dates (October 26th - November 1st), we are only accepting and highlighting NEW fanfics. Our goal is to create a wave of great, new Halloween Byler fanworks for all of us to enjoy.

However, we do know that there are many amazing Byler Halloween fics that have been posted in the past, and we want to spread the love! And so, from October 1st - October 25th, we have decided that we are going to accept both self-promo and fanfic recs for Byler Halloween fanfictions that have been posted in the past. During October, up until the start of Bylerween, send us an ask highlighting a great, older Byler Halloween fanfic, and we will post it.

In your ask, please include the AO3 link, fanfic title, AO3 author name, and tag the author on tumblr (if applicable). Feel free to include some details about why it's a beloved fic, which themes fit for Bylerween (if applicable), and any triggers to be aware of. The strict cutoff for these older fic recs is October 25th.

I will be adding these details to our Rules and Guidelines post in the next day or two so all of the info is in one place to easily refer back to!

We also want to hype up older fanworks posted to tumblr leading up to Bylerween (not just limited to fics). This includes fanart, edits, gifsets, analysis, anything that fits the theme. Tag us @bylerween2023 in the post and we’ll gladly share it as we approach Bylerween Week!

I feel silly because I run one of the ““big”” aroace blogs myself but

I feel bad-ish because I want a partner who’s in love with me Not really romantic love - actually, I’d prefer queerplatonic/ alterous love - but still, like, in love - infatuated

I know a relationship can’t be sustained on just being “in love”, relationships take work, take commitment and just “in love” doesn’t cut it; and we need to burn amatonormativity to the ground and shite

But I still want a partner who misses me, who daydreams about me, someone who wants to share space, just… someone who loves me, as a sustained commitment but I also want a bit of that infatuation, maaaaybe even a squish on me

I have had squishes that were intense, like, swept me off my feet intense

My long-term want is to settle into domesticity and just be around each other, co-existing, reaffirming that we want to be together, etc. etc. but

Idk, society told me it’s evil-bad that I want someone to be “in love” with me as opposed to loving me without infatuation

And I don’t expect a committed relationship built on less than commitment and emotional work and effort, that’s the baseline expectation for a relationship to even exist, imo

Idk, this whole ask is convoluted and I don’t really expect you to have an answer I just… needed to get it out I guess
