Say what you want Just don’t say that you’re leaving I hope this summer breeze Will last more than a season Will you write to me? In time, we’ll see Maybe spend your whole life with me
We’ve packed our suitcases We’ve shut up all the windows Hold tight Soon you and I flow anywhere the wind blows So make life to me Hold tight to me Stay awake the whole night with me
Can I keep you as a souvenir? Can I take your shirt to dry my tears? Can I meet you here this time next year? Can I keep you as a souvenir? We could take a chance and disappear We could run away, get out of here Can I keep you as a souvenir? Wish you were here
I taste salt in the air In your sweater that I sleep in I dream of us riding bikes At sunset by the ocean Those were giddy days, lazy days Sipping rosé, time to waste
Can I keep you as a souvenir? Can I take your shirt to dry my tears? Can I meet you here this time next year? Can I keep you as a souvenir? We could take a chance and disappear We could run away, get out of here Can I keep you as a souvenir? Wish you were here
And if I leave here, you’re coming with me If you leave here, I’m going with you
Can I keep you as a souvenir? Can I take your shirt to dry my tears? Can I meet you here this time next year? Can I keep you as a souvenir? We could take a chance and disappear We could run away, get out of here Can I keep you as a souvenir? Wish you were here

...so I guess I should probably post that summer-themed Moanida moodboard I made before summer’s actually over huh
Luckily, the songs that inspired this take place at the end of the summer anyways, so I guess it still works XD
Long story short, I finally got around to listening to the latest Avril Lavigne album a few months ago and for whatever reason both Souvenir and In Touch have huge Moanida vibes to me, so...I made a little modern AU about it!!! Fuck it, I haven’t made content for these girls in a while, so it’s long overdue.
Anyways, the basic story here is that Merida’s family, the wealthy heirs to some old, old, old money that supposedly comes from their Scottish monarch ancestors, often use the rather cushy funds to take lavish vacations. The summer after Merida turns 16, her mother sets her sights on the Polynesian isles, hoping for a relaxing three months of beach-lounging and daintily sipping classy drinks. Although Merida rolls her eyes at her mother’s lackluster vacation plans, she hopes that if Elinor is preoccupied enough in her suntanning quest (as fruitless as it is--Merida knows damn well their pale Scottish skin will go straight from pink to lobster-red), she won’t be paying much attention to her wandering daughter.
Then one day, after several hours of making sandcastles and then stomping on them to pass the time, Merida meets Moana Waialiki. Moana is a local, her family having lived on that very island for hundreds of years. Generation after generation, they’ve made a life right where they are, never seeing any reason to leave. Additionally, Moana’s people are wary of the dangers of the outside world--especially her father, who lost his best friend to a faraway accident that he didn’t get word of until months later.
Moana wants more. She isn’t content to stay cooped up on her town’s island, and dreams of one day being some sort of community organizer...or perhaps the captain of a tour boat. Anything that lets her meet lots of different people and gets her off the island. Merida can understand--she longs to be free of her parent’s strict rules and expectations, and wants to see and experience so much more than the small world they’ve built for her.
Before they know it, they’re sneaking off on adventures together. Moana’s parents are too busy with their town to pay much attention to where she is, while Elinor, bless all the powers that be, is also taking a vacation from micromanaging her daughter’s life, evidently.
Fergus, meanwhile, is honestly thrilled--his daughter finding someone with her same fire and stubbornness who she can truly be herself around is truly all he could have wanted. He loves his wife, but he knows how lonely Merida can be when she feels like no one really understands her. And Elinor’s sternness hardly helps matters.
They steal an entire summer together. Licking ice pops while meandering their way along jungle paths. Sipping cherry-pineapple cocktails smuggled to them by Moana’s rebellious cousin Maui. Sharing lavish fruit bowls, legs dangling into the fancy pool Elinor and Fergus blew tremendous funds to include as a resort add-on. Having beach picnics and biking across palm tree-covered cliffs. Feeding ever-growing “cool shell” collections. “Accidentally” straying off hiking trails and roaming uncharted parts of the island they’re definitely not supposed to be in. It’s full of mischief and hijinks and perhaps something just a little more than friendship sparking...and it’s the most magical summer either has ever had.
The end of that summer hits both of them hard. They hate the thought of being parted so much that they make a brief plan to run away together. It falls apart, of course--the island’s small enough that there’s nowhere to really go, and for all Moana’s boating dreams, no one’s ever actually taught her how to sail. So they do the next best thing--Moana gives Merida a sweater to remember her by, and Merida promises to do whatever it takes to convince her family to come back the following year.
Hope to make more content for these gals soon <3 I miss them!!!

The door slams as a red haired girl shuts it behind her.
Merida hurriedly comes back to her flat, not caring if she’s too loud. She is sharing a flat with her long-time girlfriend, Moana, and she knows that the other girl is used to her antics.
She quickly runs through the hallway to the salon, not looking behind her even once. Without wasting any moment, she starts opening every shelf that she sees, looking for something.
And not only shelves. She also checks dressers and whatever is on their table and couch, but nothing.
So now their house is a big mess and Merida still can’t find what she wants.
“Shit” she mumbles to herself, losing patience. She never had a lot of it, but since dating Moana, people gained some more time before Merida starts kicking butts.
Fortunately, before Merida would start literally throwing things away, she hears her girlfriend’s voice. It immediately calms her down, because Moana always knows what is where. And that power is way more magical and useful than wisps.
Or at least, that what Merida is always saying when meeting new people with her girlfriend on her side.
“Merida? Is that you?” This time Merida focuses on Moana’s voice and now she can tell that her girlfriend is taking a shower. Her voice is a little suppressed by running water from the shower, but still hearable enough for Merida to make out words.
Her stupid romantic side wins as a small smile appears on her face from only hearing her girl’s voice.
However, it quickly disappears when she remembers why she had to return to the apartment.
“Ugh” she groans, while Moana is turning off the shower water. “Car keys. Do you know where they are?“ She asks. In general, Merida doesn’t like showing any weaknesses, but it’s Moana, her girlfriend, so she doesn’t mind. And also, she has lived with her for a while already, so the other girl knows what she deals with anyway.
Without waiting for an answer, Merida hurries to the next room, jumping over the stool that was in her path.
And just as she is about to start searching the bedroom, she hears her girlfriend's voice again.
"They're on the kitchen cupboard," Moana yells, toweling off.
Without a word, Merida turns on her heel and runs to the kitchen.
Her eyes practically glows when she finally sees the object of her search.
“Got ya!” she yells with a victorious smile as she gives the keys a little kiss. With a proud smile, she turns around and with a calm step, she walks towards the bathroom with a hope to see her girl’s face before she will have to leave again. When she is closer, she realizes that she is lucky lucky, because her girlfriend's head is peeking out from the bathroom.
“And now, are you ready?” a knowing, teasing smile, is plastered on Moana’s face and Merida hates how it never disappoints to make her heart flip-flop in her chest.
“Noooot yet” Merida answers smoothly, trying to hug Moana, not caring about her state or if she’s in towel or still wet from the shower. She helped her, so she deserves a second of Merida’s famous but hard-to-get hugs.
Moana stops her, by putting her hands on Merida's cheeks, holding her face tenderly.
“Not now, you dummy. You will be late” Moana says, gently brushing Merida’s hair behind her ear, for it only to fall again at her grimacing face a second later.
Merida hangs her head with a pout, but decides that it’s fair. But that doesn’t mean that she will leave house without giving her girl any ‘thank you’ gift. So, she changes her plans, and just gives Moana a wet smooch on a forehead.
“Ah. Mer!” Merida hears Moana’s high from surprise voice, but only laughs at it, closing the door behind herself.

Have you ever heard of the song Far Side Of The World by Tide Lines? I feel like that whole song is a mood for any princess that falls for Merida.
Omg, I hadn't but I just did and thank you that was lovely! I absolutely agree but also specifically MOANA. She looks at the ocean from home and thinks about her girlfriend while she's being a responsible leader and then they take off into the ocean and just feelingsssssss❤

Our coming-of-age has come and gone Suddenly the summer, it's clear I never had the courage of my convictions As long as danger is near
And it's just around the corner, darling 'Cause it lives in me No, I could never give you peace
But I'm a fire, and I'll keep your brittle heart warm If your cascade ocean wave blues come All these people think love's for show But I would die for you in secret The devil's in the details, but you got a friend in me Would it be enough if I could never give you peace?
Your integrity makes me seem small You paint dreamscapes on the wall I talk shit with my friends It's like I'm wasting your honor
And you know that I'd swing with you for the fences Sit with you in the trenches Give you my wild, give you a child Give you the silence that only comes when two people understand each other Family that I chose, now that I see your brother as my brother Is it enough?
But there's robbers to the east, clowns to the west I'd give you my sunshine, give you my best But the rain is always gonna come if you're standing with me
But I'm a fire, and I'll keep your brittle heart warm If your cascade ocean wave blues come All these people think love's for show But I would die for you in secret The devil's in the details, but you got a friend in me Would it be enough if I could never give you peace?

WELP, it’s lesbian awareness week apparently, so I had to post something for the girlies <3
So a few months ago I finally listened to Folklore in full (idk why I didn’t before...I think for a while I was kind of leery of “New Taylor”? I was hella wrong though, New Taylor is so valid and I’m happy for her she’s finally making music she feels like is really “her”!!!), and it hit me like a damn freight train how much of a Moanida song Peace is. Like???
“I'm a fire, and I'll keep your brittle heart warm If your cascade ocean wave blues come” BRO THAT IS THEM
Help me I love fire/water ships so much ;_____; And it works on so many levels!!! Moana’s control of and connection to the ocean!!! Her generally calm-under-pressure and down-to-earth temperament, which is one that Merida greatly needs in her life to not to Dumb Shit!!! Merida’s extremely strong and passionate personality AND fiery hair to match!!! The way she gives warmth and excitement to everyone around her when she’s happy!!! Good god it’s perfect!!!
I like to think it’s mostly Merida @ Moana, basically saying trouble inevitably follows where she goes due to her absolute refusal to play by the rules, and if Moana chooses to stick by her side, she’ll inevitably get dragged into predicaments and won’t know a moment’s peace. Together, they’ll always be on the run from something--constraining traditions, the confines of society, the burden of responsibilities and expectations, the latest mountain lion or member of the gentry they managed to piss off. A life with Merida is a life on high alert, one filled with danger and adventure and close calls and narrow getaways. It’s a wild ride--a tale told at breakneck pace that never once slows down.
Merida loves Moana, of course. She’d give her everything and more, if she could. She’d give her the softness and gentleness and quiet reserved only for those dearest to her. Still, she thinks Moana deserves to know what she’s getting into, and that she’s forever giving up a tranquil life. And, as brave (heh) as Merida claims to be, she’ll often as not run--run from her fate, run from a life that tries to suffocate her, run from a kingdom where she was never truly happy. Though she sometimes visits her once-home, unable to shake the urge to check up on her brothers, she spends most of her life on the move.
Merida sometimes feels like nothing, standing beside a girl so devoted to her family and her people. Moana is good-hearted with a strong moral code, stubbornly maintaining her dreams while having a sense of duty and honor that Merida could never dream of. She finds herself often wondering what Moana sees in her. When their voyaging adventures eventually take them away from the ocean and into the mainland, Merida often finds herself having one too many drinks at taverns, rambling to the bartender and anyone else who will listen about the mother who once tried to mold her into something else. She wonders how Moana manages to stay so loyal and devoted to a community that once tried to hold her back, and suppress who she really was to be what they needed. Still, some part of Merida deep down wishes she had been able to do that. Be the queen Elinor dreamed of.
She knows that was never truly an option. When it comes between freedom and duty, there is simply too much of Merida to hold back and force into some confined role. It would be like trying to use a single tree branch to dam a cascade of floodwater.
Little does she know that Moana has no reservations about giving Merida her entire heart. She would follow the fiery Scottish lass anywhere, dive with her headfirst into peril and pleasure alive. Merida is the only one who can bring out Moana’s wholly wild side--the only one who she is wholly, hectically, and beautifully uninhibited around. With Merida, she can be the version of herself that, so far, she’s only shown to Grandma Tala--the Moana she’s too mortified to put on display for her parents and her people. She can be her most embarrassing and clueless and unsure, and Merida will only love her all the more for it. And, of course, when Moana finally meets Merida’s little brothers, she loves them as her own.
Merida Dunbroch is a torrential storm, and wherever she goes she brings lightning and rain and chaos. Moana Waialiki, it turns out, can live with that. Embrace it, even.

I’m actually very pleased how this came out!!! Luckily for me, TSwift aesthetic pics are a dime a dozen here on the interwebs XD I like all the bright colors on this, because that’s just so very Moanida <3 They are the loudest sapphics, both aesthetically and in every other sense XD Let me know if any of the text is too small to read, though, and I’ll try to find alternate pics lol
@takaraphoenix happy lesbian awareness week to THEM <3 <3
@moanida WELP I finally did it!!! I finally made the Peace moodboard!!! I can rest easy now XD

Let’s talk about Moanida moment in “Ralph breaks the internet”
So, Merida is finally saying something. And she’s speaking very enthusiastically
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And what expression did Moana have when Merida was speaking?
This one.
Tumblr media
She looks so happy to listen to Merida, even though she doesn't understand her!
Then Vanellope asked what Merida was saying and Moana literally for only a second looked at Vanellope and then again she was looking at Merida
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She’s like “I tried, but I can't take my eyes off her. Sorry Vannelope”
And then she told Vanellope that “We can’t understand her” but while saying that, she still didn’t stop looking at Merida!
Tumblr media
And then after she said that, she slightly changed her position and start fondly looking at Merida again
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just look at her eyes and her soft smile!
She’s probably thinking “I ask her on a date after this.”
Anyway, they’re gay

Another one Moanida moment from “Ralph breaks the internet”
because that's my only source
So, when all of them are saying “She *is* a princess!”, Merida’s first reaction is to look at Moana
Tumblr media
sorry for the quality
and then Moana looks back at her and boom!
Tumblr media
Just joking, nothing happened, but I love the way Moana is looking at Merida
That’s it, that’s the post.
Just picture of two pretty, strong, sassy girlfriends looking at each other

There once was a lass sent out to sea Ordered by the king to stay away from me A princess should not fall in love with a commoner and a thief. Ha! So I’ll sing a siren song In hopes one day she will come home With more than her weight in gold To take me father’s throne
***
So I accidentally ended up thinking up this big complicated AU for this post I saw a while back, AND I haven’t posted Moanida in a hot minute, so...it’s moodboard time!!!
Basically this is in an AU where Motunui is actually a fairly sizeable kingdom instead of a small island village...and Moana really is a princess here XD I imagine maybe the village grew larger and larger because Motunui was taking refugees from the other islands as the Great Darkness was consuming the land. There’s an ever-present sense of dread, and King Tui worries his kingdom’s days are numbered. He tries to proceed Business as Usual, though, not wanting to cause a mass panic among the people. Fortunately, the darkness and disease plaguing the seas has not yet reached Motunui, and food is plentiful. King Tui hopes they’ll be safe for a while yet.
Princess Moana’s whole life has been planned out for her--marry someone of high standing, produce an heir, someday take her father’s throne. She longs more than anything for adventure on the seas, and to save her kingdom from the encroaching darkness. She also finds herself yearning for meaningful connections outside her family, unsatisfied with the distant and formal relationship she has with the palace staff and her subjects. So many seem to other her due to her royal status, and she sometimes feels completely alone--even in a kingdom that reveres her. No one sees her as she is--not Princess Moana, daughter of King Tui, heir to Motunui, but merely Moana of Motunui.
As the darkness spreads, more refugees come in, and the kingdom grows. Fish aren’t as easy to come by as they once were, and resources grow tight as the mouths to feed increase.
Enter Merida.
It’s no surprise that as the kingdom grows, so does the criminal underbelly. When finery and jewelry from the palace begin to go missing, King Tui and Queen Sina wonder if the staff are in cahoots with someone unsavory. Upon searching the servants’ quarters, though, there is no evidence of any robbery or foul play.
When Moana starts seeing flashes of red out of the corner of her eye, and just out of reach around castle corridors, she thinks she’s imagining things. That is, until she walks into a drawing room and sees a scraggly redheaded girl in filthy street clothes attempting to climb out a 3rd-story window. In her scramble to escape, the intruder breaks the outside tree limb she was attempting to climb onto, and Moana hears a number of branches snapping and cursing in some strange, singsong accent. Both intrigued and amused, Moana runs to the floor below to make sure this poor unprepared thief doesn’t fall to her death.
Moana finds her hanging on a lower limb for dear life, tunic even more ripped and mouth spewing profanities that the princess is sure would make her blush--well, if she could understand any of them. Still laughing, she extends a hand to help the thief in through a lower window. The thief swats her arm away the first few attempts, but finally grabs her hand when the branch starts creaking a little too much.
Apparently this girl is so far into the criminal underworld that she has no idea who Moana is. The thief can tell she’s important--not everyone walks around in glimmering red-orange dresses and shiny shell and pearl-studded tiaras. She’s nobility of some kind for sure. But not a princess.
Regardless of her noble status, the thief girl has no interest in groveling, or begging Moana’s forgiveness. She’s quick to pull a weapon on the princess--a lethal-looking bow and arrow whose bad side Moana does not want to be on. The thief girl assures her that she’ll “shoot yeh right in yer pretty face if yeh even think about shoutin’!” Moana can’t hold back her laugh, and assures the thief she has no intention of shouting. Not when this is the most interesting thing that’s happened in months. Maybe even years--the castle has certainly never had thieves this brazen.
Moana takes the thief girl to her room to get her cleaned up; her parents are too busy managing the kingdom to pay much attention to what she’s doing, anyways. She puts her in cleaner servants’ clothes and finds a cloak to conceal her hair before sneaking her out a back door, extending an invitation to come visit sometime. The castle could do without a few pearls, Moana figures--that, and the thrill of abetting a criminal could make her princess life a little less dull.
Besides, meeting someone who has no idea who she is is a gift too precious to waste.
And so Moana takes to “accidentally” leaving many a palace window open, and many a door unlocked. Sure enough, the thief girl comes back--although she claims it’s only because Moana is “a wee soft little lamb who makes thievin’ far too easy!” Nonetheless, she’s quick to tell her story after little resistance.
Merida, Moana finds out her name is. She’s been on the run a long time--how long she won’t say, but from the rugged, toughened state of the girl, Moana imagines it’s plenty long enough for her to harden her edges and teach her how to take care of herself. She claims she doesn’t need anyone--and never has--but from the way she’s more than willing to have heart-to-hearts with a near stranger, Moana doubts that. It must be lonely in the thief world--always watching your back and never being sure someone won’t stab you in it. Moana gathers Merida has deemed her naïve enough to trust.
Moana is hardly naïve, but if that’s what it takes to believe she’s worth opening up to...so be it.
Merida, it turns out, is a runaway from a kingdom far, far away--oceans away, even. She never felt at home there. She always felt like she was being twisted into something she wasn’t--made to fit an image, with no one caring who she actually was. She took off, flitting from place to place. She pickpocketed enough to eat until Wanted posters of her adorned every wall in town--and only then would she vanish without a trace, off to change her name and her backstory for her next grand adventure.
Moana has a feeling that Merida isn’t making up the backstory this time, but she doesn’t say as much.
After a while, Moana admits her own malcontent. The kingdom only continues to grow as her parents do nothing about the encroaching darkness that leaves so many homeless in the first place. She tells of her strange connection with the ocean, and how sometimes the waves themselves would part for her as a child. She talks about how badly she wishes she could help, and how a strange green emblem from her late grandmother Queen Tala might be the key to everything.
Maybe it’s terrible to think, but Moana finds herself wanting to inherit the throne sooner. She really thinks she could do some good, and she’s determined to conquer the darkness and save the kingdom. Merida, she finds, could be a surprisingly big help--she’s tough, she can fight like no one’s business, and she’s lived among the downtrodden and destitute in the slums and knows firsthand the kind of life more and more will be condemned to if something is not done about the darkness. She’d make an excellent bodyguard, and could even help with law-making and battle strategy--she’s politically savvy in a way Moana didn’t expect.
Things shift between them after a while. There are more and more stolen touches during their meetings, more physical affection. Moana finds herself looking at Merida for longer than she means to. Merida brings her gifts and trinkets from the seedier markets royals don’t usually go to--tiny, pretty seashells, wildflowers from hidden crevices, knives that are usually considered “improper” for a young princess to use.
For the first time since Queen Tala--perhaps for the first time ever--Moana feels like someone sees her for who she truly is. Not a princess, not some otherworldly, ethereal authority to be worshipped, but just Moana.
And when Merida inevitably learns the truth of who her new luxuriously-clothed friend is, Moana is surprised to see she barely bats an eye. She shrugs, says “yeh, I figured you were someone important, from the way yeh dress like a fancypants. But yer not some self-righteous snob like the rest of them, so ah like yeh.”, and then moves on like nothing happened.
By the time Moana realizes she’s fallen in love, the palace staff have gathered there’s something suspicious about the princess sneaking out the back door as often as she does. Moana was just starting to be less cautious when King Tui walks in on her and Merida kissing.
The king is furious. No princess should grow feelings for a dirty peasant--and a criminal, at that. Although Merida is spared the noose, she is exiled from the island for good, given a ship and told to never return.
Before the thief is sent away, Moana is allowed one goodbye. Merida vows to come back one day--despite what Tui says--with her ship stuffed with treasure. She’s gotten a fruitful tip from the criminal underworld, and if all goes as planned, they should be able to buy the kingdom for themselves. Then, no one can stop them from being together--and, at last, conquering the creeping shadows.
In her absence, Moana writes Merida songs. Crude, scrawled haphazardly on palm paper, but full of heart. She shoves them into corked glass bottles before sneaking out and dropping them into the sea. Maybe they’ll never reach Merida...but then again, maybe they will.
The days without Merida drag, and Moana has never felt more alone. Nonetheless, she has faith that her love will return with riches, and the two of them will take the throne and save the land, just as they’ve always planned.

Pagan Holiday Shipping Moodboard Project #5--Litha Moanida
****
Take me down into your paradise Don’t be scared ‘cause I’m your body type If it’s something that we wanna try Then you and I We’re cool for the summer
****
Haaaappy Litha!!! Honestly, there was no ship besides Moanida I could use for the summer solstice. Like bonfires are a big thing for summer, and like...is Merida NOT the human embodiment of a bonfire??? Like the hair??? The ire??? The REBELLION??? And Motunui and the South Pacific in general is like...THE place you think of when you think of summer. And they’re both such high-energy, passionate people, they just ABSOLUTELY have the summeriest vibes I’ve ever seen.
I actually highkey love how this came out and I’ve been super excited to post it!!! Especially the mango popsicles, like man...don’t tell me they WOULDN’T eat those! I like to think that when Merida visits Motunui (or hell, maybe she’d just MOVE there), they make their own popsicles out of the local fruit and they taste SUPER good because they’re literally as fresh as you can possibly get!
At first I wasn’t crazy about the blue outline, but...it kinda grew on me??? It’s surprisingly relaxing to look at. Kinda has ocean/seashore vibes.
See y’all in August for lughnasadh!
alSO I’M SO MAD I SPENT SO LONG WRITING ALL THESE JACKUNZEL HEADCANONS AND THEY’RE NOT SHOWING UP IN THE JACKUNZEL TAG OR THE ROTBTD TAG AND I JUST--
FUCKING TUMBLR MAN

For Moanida:
10) Your ship is on a road trip. Where are they going? What song do they belt together, overdramatically, as they travel the open road?
11) What song from a musical best describes your ship?
10) Your ship is on a road trip. Where are they going? What song do they belt together, overdramatically, as they travel the open road?
SO the cliche option, which Merida would definitely scream standing up in Moana's convertible as they're zooming down the highway, and which Moana would also get way too into to yell at Merida for being a huge fucking reckless idiot, is obviously this one:
youtube
Yes obviously I had to use this actual AMV of them XD
BUT I also think this one for whatever reason???
youtube
I think my logic is that in a modern AU I can easily headcanon one of them meeting the other while traveling/studying abroad, and I can see them having to have a long-distance friendship/relationship for a while. But they never want to stop talking, so they're constantly facetiming and skyping!!! And always waiting very, very impatiently for that next video call! Hence "I see her online and I gotta see the girl on the screen" XD Anyways they hear it and they're like "YES OUR SONG PLZ" and they gleefully steal it from the heterosexual men XD I also feel like they have a whole Extra, synchronized dance routine to it, and they've probably rehearsed it much more than is reasonable. Moana also definitely tries to still do the hand movements while driving, and nearly gets them into a wreck a number of times. It's still a better option than letting Merida drive, where she'd purposely ram into some asshole who cut her off before they even get to the freeway
They're probably driving to the beach!!! Or maybe just out for a drive in the mountains or the forest! Either way, they're definitely either going to the ocean (surprise surprise) or someplace wilderness-y. Bonus points if one or both is grounded (although I imagine they're like college-age in this, so it's kind of ridiculous for their parents to ground them anyways, but like...have you MET Tui and Elinor???) and they give 0 fucks and sneak out and go on a joyride anyways.
11) What song from a musical best describes your ship?
...damn, I deadass can't believe you went and made me google "most lesbian broadway songs" XD
Well obviously the first place I went was the Wicked soundtrack, and I thought for SURE I was going to end up picking a Glinda and Elphaba song, BUT...it's actually this one that reminded me most of Them???

I'm imagining an AU where Moana and Merida have just started dating, but they're keeping it a secret and are too scared to tell their parents they're girlfriends. Merida has no idea what Elinor's going to think (and uhhhh full offense but I am not at all convinced her traditionalist ass wouldn't be at least a little homophobic lmao), and Moana is worried Tui's going to be mad she's not carrying on the family legacy by having kids and such (even in a modern AU, I imagine Moana coming from an important and influential family). Both Moana and Merida are total musical theater nerds (that's part of what they bonded over in the first place!), and eventually they save up enough to go on a "totally platonic best friends' trip" to NYC to see Wicked on Broadway. When As Long As You're Mine comes on, they both just start SOBBING and pressing up as close as they can against each other in their seats like "THAT'S OUR SONGGGG"
Fwiw I see Merida singing the Elphaba parts and Moana singing the Fiyero parts!
Also they definitely cry during For Good, they're just a mess by the end
@takaraphoenix Moanida hours!!!

It was a beautiful day. Girls were playing on the beach, swimming, just laying on the sand and even playing a tag. It was their free time, so they wanted to spent as much time together as they can. And they did so many things together, here on that beach. But later that day, some kids from Moana’s island come to them and ask Mo to show them how to dance. And yes, usually it was special time for dancing lessons but that one girl in their group said that she want so show it to that one boy she likes and Moana just couldn’t say no to her after hearing that.
Merida didn’t mind.
Not at all.
Well, okay, maybe she wasn’t super happy that some little girl stole her girlfriend from her when they have their free time, but it’s Moana for you. She’s just too good and she loves her people too much. And Merida loves this part of her girlfriend too.
So now, Merida is laying on the sand, her head on her hand as she is watching Moana. Her moves are hypnotizing. They way she moves her hips, her hands. They way she smiles while dancing. If Merida wasn’t already in love with Moana, she would fall for her again. And again and again. Not that she would say it out loud. She has her pride. But seeing her girlfriend like that... Smiling and being happy, well, it makes Merida happy too.
Watching her was so relaxing and enjoyable that Merida soon fell asleep. When she woke up, she immediately noticed that the beach was now quiet again, and her head was definitely not lying on the uncomfortable sand. And she was right.  Her head was on Moana's lap, who was calmly looking at the ocean and gently stroking her hair.
She really loves that girl. No matter what she does, she can make Merida feel comfortable.
Finally, her girlfriend turned her gaze to her and a calm, tender smile appeared on her face. Merida couldn’t say what Moana was thinking when watching ocean. Why sometimes she was having this too serious expression when watching it. But Merida knew how important ocean is to her and that was enough for her to know. For now at least.
“Are we going to play in the water? We are alone again” she asked and her calm smile change into smirk. And Merida couldn't help but had even better idea
“So... Without clothes?”
“It’s too early, Mer! But I’ll gladly do it with you at night.” She kissed the red-haired girl on the cheek and run to the water. No matter what others say, Moana is the only girl Merida would ever love that much. Because who else could stand her and not be angry or annoyed by her chaotic ideas?

Moana is showing Merida how people dance in her homeland!

“Uhm… Are you sure about that Mer?”

What can I say? Merida got her revenge really fast! Moana shouldn't have splashed water on her!

They are investigating.
Or just they are just spying on someone.
Who knows?

Just some edits with Merida and Moana 🌸
You can see it as a ship or just friendship, your choice!
But I had to do more edits with those girls cuz aaaah! They have similar energy and both of them didn’t have a love interest in the movie. And still, there isn’t much edits with them! (T_T)
(Here is my edit of Merida and Moana when they were kiddos < 3)

Hello! 🥰🌸
from "Questions You Should Be Able To Answer For Any OTP" 1,3,4,5,9 and 10 for moanida!😅💜 But you can answer all of them or only few of them is it's too much ahaha
Ily, take care!!
YEAH BOIIII
Coffee shop AU: Who is the barista, and who frequents the coffee shop?
I'm just imagining Moana being a barista at some hole-in-the-wall authentic Polynesian coffee place by the beach, and of course Merida because she damn well needs her caffeine in the morning or she'll pass out, and Rapunzel insists on starting these fucking Squad Beach Days early. Merida was honestly willing to take the first cup of coffee she could get when the gang first went into town, but uhhhhhh oh GOD that girl behind the counter is cute!!! Merida starts "ending up" in there quite a lot, although initially she can barely string a coherent sentence together in front of that cute barista and can't make eye contact for more than half a second. Extroverted as she can be, Merida dissolves into an absolute mess as soon as a pretty girl is involved XD
Merida also pretends to only like black coffee to make herself seem tough, but in reality she kind of hates it and prefers sugar-laden lattes and sweet teas. After a while, when she and Mo have established kind of a friendship, and Merida can have an conversation with Mo without imploding and making an idiot of herself, Mo notices Mer making a face every time she sips her Plain Black Coffee and kinda smirks and is like “You know, there’s no shame in adding sweeteners. I mean, for god’s sake, my favorite drink here is the blonde vanilla coconut latte, and I’m still pretty tough.” Merida is just like “OH THANK GOD” and finally admits that she’d much rather be ordering an Irish crème, toffee, buttered rum, cinnamon, or caramel latte. If the seasonal flavor selection offers any apple-accented or apple pie-esque lattes, Merida’s all about that shit, too! Probably the most “intense” drink Merida actually enjoys is a pretty spicy cinnamon latte. She ends up ordering this pretty frequently to impress Moana with her spice tolerance, even though she really doesn’t need to.
Also, in case there’s any question about it--yes, Moana absolutely memorizes Merida’s orders! Moana also memorizes what flavor syrups Merida seems to like best (i.e. spicy cinnamon, apple pie, caramel, toffee, butterscotch) and gives them extra shots of them in her drinks. When the manager complains about all of Merida’s favorite flavor syrups running out frequently, Moana is like “Oh nooooo, I have no idea why THAT could be! That’s terrible!”
Rivals to lovers AU: Who takes their rivalry seriously, and who is half in it just to push the other’s buttons?
I love the idea of them having a super-petty sports rivalry in a modern AU! Merida strikes me as being competitive as hell, so I’m betting anything she’d be the one to take it way too seriously and get increasingly annoyed with Moana outdoing her, while Mo kind of gives in and indulges Mer but is also secretly amused and kind of flattered that Mer is like...that into their rivalry. Moana’s just like *Regina George voice* “Why are you so OBSESSED with me???”
Like maybe in a modern-day college AU, Merida has been the star of her college’s archery team basically since freshman year. She wins the championships!!! She gets the trophies!!! She’s very well-known within the tiny niche community that is college archery!!! Then, come junior year, this girl in Merida’s year who Merida’s never even SEEN before shows up out of nowhere and makes the cut for the team. She’s honestly way better than she has any right to be (like judging by how she is with that harpoon gun, Moana’s aim is pretty damn good) and is constantly stealing the spotlight, and Merida is a very angry lass. Like it seems like no matter what she does, Moana can always one-up her, and Merida wants to tear her hair out in frustration. Doesn’t help that every time Moana does ridiculously good on a drill and gets 7 bullseyes in a row or some shit, she’s insufferably smug and cocky about it. Merida very-nearly throws a fit every time Mo outdoes her, and Moana honestly finds the whole thing pretty amusing. She’s sort of flattered that apparently only she can get such dramatic reactions out of Mer, and that just tempts her to push Mer’s buttons all the more.
Then, come the annual Big Archery Tournament Finals! As usual, Merida’s college’s team wins--although this time, it’s through a combination of Merida’s and Moana’s skills rather than just Merida kicking archery ass for like 2 hours straight. On the individual evaluations, Moana scores higher than Merida, but only by a little bit. Merida is, of course, extremely salty, but she’s also grudgingly grateful that Moana being there was able to give their team a definitive edge in the competition.
Afterwards, the team goes out for celebratory drinks. After probably 3 drinks too many, Moana finally works up the courage to try and actually like...have a straight conversation with Merida for once, instead of just communicating with passive-aggressive show-offery. She wanders over, sits next to Mer at the bar, and half-slurredly asks if she can declare a truce just for one night, in honor of their kind-of-teamwork winning the tournament. Merida is also a few drinks in, so she’s just like “sure, fuck it, maybe yer not so bad after all. Now prove to me you’re not a pain in the arse!”
They chat for a while, and it turns out Moana is actually pretty easygoing and fun to talk to when she’s not mega-flexing with her archery skills. After a few more drinks, Moana is like “...can I tell you something?” and Merida’s like “why not?”
And then Moana just goes bright red and looks away and admits that the whole reason she got into archery and boosted up her skills enough to join the team in the first place was because she saw Merida making like 50 bullseyes at the previous year’s tournament, and developed a huge crush on her--to the point where she did all this extra-ass shit just so she could join the archery team and get to know Merida better. Also, every instance of Moana acting smug and cocky after acing a drill or perfectly hitting a target? It was honestly because she was trying to impress and show off to Merida, and also because she’s awkward as hell and has no idea how to actually flirt without being joke-mean and joke-cocky. Merida, a much more emotional drunk than she will ever admit, starts crying and gets super apologetic, because oh god, she was being so mean and rude to this girl who only ever thought she was cool and wanted to impress her from the jump??? How COULD she??? Moana lowkey loses her shit laughing because how mad Merida got at being upstaged was honestly kind of hilarious, and she was actually really flattered that Merida was, again, that obsessed with their rivalry. It made Moana feel weirdly special that only she could get to Merida that much, and she honestly liked the attention, even if it...wasn’t the most positive XD And Merida starts laughing, too, because she’ll admit that in hindsight, this whole thing feels a little ridiculous, and extracurricular college archery really isn’t that big of a deal.
Finally, Merida just rolls her eyes and says “C’mere, yeh bloody show-off yeh” and grabs Moana by the front of her archery uniform and smooches her!!! The entire archery team hoots and hollers because OH SHIT, DAT GAY!!! Merida holds out her other hand and flips the entire team off, which honestly just makes them cheer more.
Enemies to lovers AU: Which one switches sides?
Depends a lot on the conflict, I think! Maybe a war breaks out in an AU where someone other than Moana is chosen to return the Heart of Te Fiti--I’m gonna say Tui, for irony’s sake! Moana and Sina take over as co-chiefs while he’s gone, but he takes significantly longer than Moana did in the quest, so Moana’s tribe is eventually forced to flee Motunui to find new fishing grounds before their island is overtaken by darkness. The people of Motunui sail across the world, trying to find a new place to call home. Unfortunately, every time they find a habitable place, it’s already occupied, and the people who live there are uninterested in sharing their already-scarce food.
Eventually they stumble upon Dunbroch, far enough away from Motunui that the seas aren’t affected by the spreading darkness, and fish are plentiful. Naturally, Moana’s tribe sets up a camp on the shores and starts catching as many fish as they can, hoping they’ve finally found a place where they can have enough to eat again. Unfortunately Fergus and Elinor aren’t too crazy about this, and are like “yo, these oceans and these fish and other game belong to the people of Dunbroch and you gotta leave” and Sina and Moana are like “Pls we don’t have any place to go and we’ve been barely eating for a long-ass time, can’t you spare some food?” and Fergus and Elinor are like “sorry bro, it’s almost winter and we have our own entire kingdom to look after, we don’t need more mouths to feed. You gotta be on your way or shit’s gonna get real.”
So Moana thinks this sounds sketch as fuck because like...there’s an entire forest full of deer, rabbits, and other game, and they have NO food they can spare??? That night, Sina sends Moana to spy on the kingdom, since she can be pretty sneaky when she wants. Moana manages to climb the castle battlements and watch through a window, and she sees a bunch of people enjoying a massive feast in a huge dining hall. Her eyes are particularly drawn to a girl about her age with a head full of bright, fiery curls, wearing a nice dark green dress and gorging herself on pastries adorned with white icing and raspberries.
Moana heads back and tells Sina “actually it looks like these assholes have PLENTY of food to spare, and they just want to keep it all for themselves” and Sina is like “well shit...why don’t we raid their food store, then??? They’ve gotta have one somewhere!” And so the Motunui village storms Castle Dunbroch at dawn, catching them almost completely by surprise.
The first thing Moana does is seek out the redheaded pastry girl, whom she’s developed a particular disdain for. When she rushes her, she’s surprised that the ginger girl whips around and immediately sends an arrow sailing into her shoulder. When Moana gets close, the redheaded girl pulls out a sword. Moana takes out a long, sharpened wooden spear made from a particularly tough oar.
She turns out to be much more competent than Moana expected, especially for someone who was shamelessly shoving sweets into her mouth not 7 hours earlier.
They go toe to toe Raya-and-Namaari style, and the redheaded girl admittedly gives Moana a run for her money. The longer the battle goes on, the more Moana’s rage grows. She taunts the redheaded girl the entire time, calling her a spoiled, selfish brat who’d rather gorge herself with all the sugar in the world than share even one grain of it. Merida, who hasn’t exactly heard good things about these people from her parents, is just like “well, you’re no better, showing up and thinking you can just steal what belongs to Dunbroch and we won’t put up a fight!”
And thus the war begins. Motunui is never quite strong enough to get through the guards and raid the food stores, and Dunbroch is never quite strong enough to fully drive Motunui out of the kingdom. Fergus and Moana are both far too stubborn to surrender (despite the fact that Sina is kind of ready to), and so the battles continue. Casualties start to pile up. Dunbroch seeks help from the other clans, but they refuse--they did not take their leaders’ sons being scorned by the Dunbroch princess lightly.
Over and over, Moana can’t help but be drawn to the redheaded girl. She realizes after a few battles that this girl isn’t just anymore, but the Dunbroch princess--her resemblance to the king and his protectiveness over her can’t be a coincidence. It only makes Moana hate her more--but time and time again, she isn’t able to get the better of the princess. Moana can fight hard, and she can be vicious--but so, she’s discovering, can the Dunbroch girl. The princess is clever and cunning, and underestimating her has almost gotten Moana a blade in the throat one too many times.
Merida would be the one to change sides eventually, I think (wooo! Finally got to the actual question!). Once she finds out her parents didn’t tell her the whole truth about their first meeting with the Motunui village and sorta fudged what happened, Merida is livid that they turned away people who needed help. She said if she had known there were people who were tired and hungry and just needed a place to rest, she would have gladly given up some of her own meals for them! To prove this, she gathers up her dinner--plus some apples and some pastries she was going to have for dessert--and puts it in a basket, taking it to the Motunui camp as a peace offering. Moana ambushes her and very nearly slices the basket in half, if only because Moana was convinced it was filled with venemous snakes. After some bickering, Moana finally snatches the food away and, after testing it to make sure it wasn’t poisoned, brings it to Sina.
Unfortunately, one basket of food isn’t enough to feed the village, and the fighting continues. Merida tries to convince her parents to share their food stores with Motunui, but they still refuse, saying they need those stores for their own people and the Motunui people killed any chance of goodwill they might get when they attacked. Determined not to see people starve, Merida starts stealing from the reserve herself and sneaking the food out to the Motunui camp. Moana is feeling a lot more kindly towards Merida at this point, and feels a little bad about being so quick to judge her initially.
Eventually, Fergus and Elinor notice the food in the stores going missing, and figure some of the Motunui villagers must be running stealth operations to sneak in and get it. Dunbroch launches a full-scale attack on Montunui--while Merida is at their camp sneaking them food, in fact. Fergus makes a beeline for Moana. Word has gotten out by now of the times she managed to spy on the castle, so her sneakiness is well-known--and Fergus is all but certain she’s the thief. He charges at her with his sword, aimed to kill, when his own daughter steps in the way.
He barely manages to stop himself, but he does just in time. Merida admits she was stealing the food the whole time, and she can’t let Fergus hurt Moana. Fergus demands to know why, and Merida tearfully admits “Because I love her!”
Fergus, in a rage, takes out his sword again and charges Merida. Swords clash between father and daughter, and Merida looks like she’s just about to be overpowered. Moana can see the fear and betrayal in her eyes, appalled that her father would actually contemplate hurting her.
Not wanting to see whether he actually would, Moana steps in and helps Merida to fend Fergus off. “Enough!” she screams. “How can you live with yourself? My father risked his life to try to save his daughter and his people--and you’re willing to fight yours because she doesn’t agree with all this senseless violence?! You make me sick! I’m standing with Merida, because...because I love her too. I’ll leave if you want, but I want this to end.”
This finally snaps Fergus out of it, and he and Elinor decide that maybe the fighting has gone on long enough--and maybe it’s not worth it anymore, if it’s pitting them against their own daughter now. They end up trying to work out something with Motunui. Establishing a peace treaty and figuring out how to proceed forward is a long and messy process, but everyone is willing to put in the work--for the sake of Merida and Moana, if for nothing else.
Soulmate AU: Who is eager to meet their soulmate? Who absolutely does not want to meet their soulmate?
Neither of them want to meet their soulmate XD Merida has just been repulsed by the idea of marriage and commitment since she was young, mainly because she can’t not see it as just a means of taking her freedom away and making her be subservient to someone. Besides, given the, um...heteronormative culture of Dunbroch and all, she assumes she’ll get not just stuck with, but cosmically bound to a man and that idea just...doesn’t do anything but fill her with unadulterated disgust XD Like please no, she’s perfectly happy to go where she pleases when she pleases with no one but Angus for company. The last thing she needs is some stuck-up, snot-nosed boy telling her what she can and can’t do.
Moana has similar concerns, although maybe a bit less extreme. She’s mainly worried that when she meets her soulmate and, as per expectation, marries them, she’ll be expected to “mature” into a full adult and fully embrace her responsibilities as chief, leaving behind her childhood dreams of exploring the ocean. Same as Merida, she’s worried the person she’s destined for will tie her down and prevent her from exploring and going on the adventures she craves so badly. She’s also, like Merida, worried she’ll get stuck with some lame, boring dude who she’ll be destined for because...he loves her!!! And will be really nice to her!!! But will not stimulate or interest her in any way whatsoever!!! And Moana is pretty uninterested in romance and dating regardless, so the idea of any kind of romantic partner who she’d hypothetically have to run crazy ideas by before just doing them doesn’t sound too appealing to her. Like, she’s happy where she is and having her friends and family for company, what does she need an SO for??? It just feels like the whole “soulmate” business is just the universe attempting to give her a babysitter, and Moana ain’t about that. She can do things on her own, dammit!!! And what makes the great elder love gods think she wants another person to keep track of on her escapades, anyways?!? It’s enough effort keeping herself safe without worrying about someone else!
Imagine their shocked delight when each finds out their soulmate is a) a girl and b) a girl arguably just as chaotic, adventurous, and rebellious as they are!!! They meet and they’re like “huh...maybe the universe wasn’t being some big dumb fucking idiot binding us together after all. I can work with this!!!”
Pirate AU: Who is the pirate? Who is the member of the royal family who did not sign up for this?
Merida is the pirate! Or at least...the one who becomes a pirate first! XD Maybe to escape her betrothal she steals a ship and flees Dunbroch, and BOOM trouble on the High Seas time!!! Eventually she sails to the south Pacific on her naval escapades, and stumbles on Motunui. When she finds out Moana is a chief’s daughter, she naturally kidnaps her and holds her for ransom--because screw it, she hasn’t successfully pillaged any merchant ships recently and she needs some cash. But instead of being like “Noooo take me home!” Moana is like “Actually this fucks, I’ve always wanted to sail the ocean anyways and my dad wouldn’t let me before, so you’ve accidentally given me an avenue to achieve my dreams!!! Thank you!!!” And Merida realizes that a first mate would actually be a lot more useful in the long run than a handful of hostage money, so she just kind of shrugs like “aight, yer on the crew.”
Merida is a bit salty because Moana takes to the pirate lifestyle excellently--so much so that before long, she’s arguably a better pirate than Merida XD While Merida is a bit cranky about being outdone in the art of piracy, she also can’t help but admire Moana’s natural aptitude for sailing and propensity for mischief on the High Seas!!!
Their ship is called “The Arrow,” and Merida definitely uses her bow during pirate-to-pirate combat! She teaches Moana how to shoot a bow, but discovers Mo is pretty nifty with a harpoon gun as well!
Childhood best friends AU: Which one was super obviously in love with the other the whole time? Who was oblivious until they were older?
Oooooh, this is a fun one!!! Admittedly I don’t usually think about these girls in a Childhood Friends to Lovers AU (very possibly due to...geographical constraints lol) so this’ll be a cool thought experiment!
SO in order to fix my unfortunate geographical constraints, I’m gonna say that this is an AU where the people of Motunui were wayfinders from the jump, and while voyaging (admittedly a LONG way), they stumbled upon Dunbroch. Moana’s parents and Merida’s parents immediately hit it off, and established a political alliance of sorts.
Moana, meanwhile, pulled the classic “little girl on vacation/at an event immediately seeks out other little girl and becomes best friends with her.” Moana and Merida naturally also hit it off immediately, and are both pretty bummed out when Tui and Sina want to leave and continue voyaging and such. However, they make plans to visit as frequently as they can and Merida and Moana are super hyped about this! They both always get extremely excited for said visits, and Little Moana nearly falls off the front of her family’s boat several times because she’s leaning over so far and squinting so hard to try and see Dunbroch.
I love the idea that Moana was the one who was totally smitten from the jump, to the point where it took her years to realize she was aspec because she was like “Of course I can fall in love!!! I’m in love with Merida!!!” She just didn’t realize most people have romantic inclinations toward more than one person over the course of their lives XD
It absolutely does not help that Merida is extremely romance-repulsed when they’re kids--mainly because she associates romance in general with being docile and acting stupid to impress some annoying macho guy, and that thought kinda makes her want to puke. That, and given how, er...heteronormative things are in Dunbroch, it doesn’t reall occur to her that romancing girls is like...an option. So poor Moana has always kind of resigned herself to thinking she has no chance with Merida, and keeps her feelings under pretty tight lock since she doesn’t want to ruin their close friendship and all and she doubts Merida even swings that way.
THEN when they’re in their early teens, Merida is like “hmmm...I wonder what it would be like to kiss Moana?” but then IMMEDIATELY feels weird for thinking that and tells absolutely no one. She’s definitely starting to feel something a little different than just platonic friendship though, and of course she’s also convinced Moana only sees her as a friend and probably doesn’t like girls.
Then one day they’re wrestling around out in the woods, like they have since they were little, and at one point Merida leans down and just impulsively kisses Moana. She’s super flustered and apologetic afterwards, but Moana just stares in shock before being like “holy shit, I never thought you’d actually want me too. Holy shit!!!!” After that, they start secret-dating and everyone around just thinks they’re still “very good friends” XD
When Merida turns 16 and gets the news of her betrothal, she’s devastated. It takes her several days to process her emotions, and several times she tries to protest to her mother, but Elinor steamrolls her and talks over her at every turn. Finally, when Merida can get a word in edgewise, she tearfully bursts out that she can’t go through with this because she loves Moana. Elinor, traditionally-minded woman that she is, is horrified by this.
When Fergus finds out, he GOES OFF at Elinor and sticks up for Merida. He basically says that she’s their daughter and they should want her to be happy, and they should be happy for her that she did find someone she loves, even if it’s a bit...unconventional.
Later, at the betrothal ceremony, Merida picks an archery contest for the suitors with the hopes of cheating the system and winning her own hand. Imagine her surprise when Moana rushes in late with a makeshift bow on her hip, shouting “I am Moana of Motunui, and I’ll be shooting for the princess’s hand as well!”
Luckily, due to Moana’s years and years of informal archery training from Merida herself, the other suitors really don’t stand a chance.
It turns out that Elinor and Fergus set this whole thing up, deciding in the end that their daughter should at least be able to marry who she loves if she had to get looped into a political marriage. And honestly, they weren’t going to say no to a stronger alliance with Motunui at the end of the day. Merida is so pleasantly shocked by the whole thing that she forgets to be mad about the fact that she’s still being pressured into a marriage pretty young XD Luckily, Moana has no intention of trying to hold Merida back or take her freedom away! Their relationship really barely changes after they officially become wives, and they’re still just as in love as they’ve basically always been.
As for the issue of heirs, Elinor and Fergus just make Merida’s brothers the heirs of Dunbroch, and Tui and Sina are fine with Moana and Merida choosing an heir for Motunui who isn’t necessarily their biological child. Neither Moana nor Merida are crazy about the “leaders have to be from the chief/monarch’s bloodline” rule anyways, so they’re more than fine with this!
This is in reference to this post! Still answering these questions for Moanida and Hiccanna, if I haven’t done so already!
