MLP next generation: Star and Sky

Formally introducing Twilight Sky and Shining Star, Twilight's children, before you ask for their other parent, yes they do have one but I will not reveal them for now, also, they aren't Twi's partner, they acted more like a donor, but the kids do know their other parent, they just spend most of their time with Twilight.

Onto the info!

Twilight Sky:

Age: 19

Family: Twilight Sparkle (mother), Shining Star (twin brother)

Cutiemark: a starry sunset colored sky with an orange and yellow colored star in the middle

Occupation: Student of the princesses and current Princess of Friendship

Sky Facts:

- She is a very chill mare, which leads those who don't know her to think of her as a mysterious and withdrawn princess, which she isn't.

She is actually a little withdrawn and doesn't tend to share her life details with many ponies, but she doesn't do it in a malicious way, she is just like that, once you get to know her she is actually the nicest pony you'll ever meet and a really loyal friend. Think of her as a more soft version of Rosa Diaz from Brooklyn 99.

- She gained her cutiemark at 6 years old, a very young age, she got it at the same time as her brother, only they weren't toghether that day, she was spending the evening with Flurry Heart, surfing the sky and as the sun was setting she looked at the sky and felt a deep connection, she closed her eyes and at that same time the sky suddenly changed its color for a dusk pallette, Flurry was mesmerized, it was as Sky changed the color of the Sky herself...

Sky still with her eyes closed, lost control of her wings and as she fell a beam of light revolved around her. Flurry manged to catch her as they were very high in the sky and asked her if she was okay, she said that she was, that she felt like she just woke up from a very long nap, and there it was, her cutiemark.

-Many ponies think she is named after her mother, and while she kinda is because twilight is a family name, her mother actaully wanted to name her children after someone close in the family, so she is actually named after Twilight Velvet.

Shining Star:

Age: 19

Family: Twilight Sparkle (mother), Twilight Sky (twin sister).

Cutiemark: a constellation formed between three yellow and orange colored stars, each one of different size.

Occupation: Student of the princesses and current Prince of Friendship.

Star Facts:

- He is a calm and sweet stallion, but he unwillingly is very very clumsy and dorky, which he tries so hard not to be because it embarasses him, but people actually see this a a sign that their prince is just another pony like them. He is also a huge bookworm like his mother and you can always find him at the library or at the astronomy tower.

- He gained his cutiemark at 6 years old, a very young age, at the same time as her sister, only they weren't together, he was spending the evening with his grandpa Night Light, who is an astronomer (as i headcanon him), to wait for the sun to set so they could gaze the stars. When the sun set, and the moment the sky changed its color, Star started to see the starts appear in it, his eyes closed as he felt a deep connection with them, at that moment, all the stars in the sky abruptly appeared, and milions of new stars that weren't ever seen before appeared too, Night Light was shocked, he didn' t see anything like this in his entire life, he looked down and saw that Star was laying on the ground,a beam of light around him, and them the light dissapeared he asked Star if he was okay, Star answered that he was, he just felt like he had been woken up from a long nap, and there it was, his cutiemark.

- He was named after his uncle Shining Armor.

Facts:

- Their family, the mane six and the princesses were a little shocked that they weren't unicorns, but as Twilight never revealed the identity of their other parent, they just assumed it was because of their genetics. However, a small portion of the ponies in equestria weren't happy upon hearing that the new royals could not wield any magic, these ponies were groups of ponies of the high elite, old ponies with closed minds and etc, so their opinion wasn't really taken as important and despite this the birth of the twins was celebrated in all of equestria.

- The day Star and Sky got their cutiemarks, the majority of ponies assumed it was a great day and that that was it, but Twilight and the Princesses, especially Celestia and Luna, knew that it wasn't normal that the sky and the stars acted like that, they had magic, and much more than that, the princesses concluded that their fate and destiny would be something that could change equestria.

-And so, they started studying and training in magic, from a very young age, Twilight discovered that although they weren't unicorns, they had a great amount of magic inside that would cause them problems if it wasn't worked on. The closest magic experts worked along with the princesses to find something that would channel their magic without causing them to losing it or causing any damage to the royal siblings. After many time of work, the prince and princess were granted a special crystal for each one of them.

- These crystals are pictured in the drawing, Star channels his magic through his hooves, so he wears the crystal as a bracelet, as for Sky, she channles her magic through her wings, but Twilight was struggling to find an accesory that wouldn't restrain her wings while wearing it, so they tried a pendant, and it actually worked, whenever she uses magic though, she wears the crystal on her back, so it reaches the start of her wings, but as long as she isn't using magic she just wears it as a normal pendant.

- Star and Sky know that they can't be the only non unicorn ponies in all of equestria that can use magic, as the Princesses and all of equestria believe, so in the time they aren't studying or attending royal duties, they do a lot of research on magic, and actually work on devices that could channel pegasus and earth pony magic.

-They have been together all of their lives and can't fathom being without the other, even though they are very different.

And that's all, I will not be writing all of their story in this post as I haven't yet finished creating this universe (who knows if i'll finish it), but feel free to ask anything you want about them in the comments, I'll try to answer as much as possible :)

Her surname "Dracona" means "she-dragon", a reference to the Dragonfire magic with which Bloom is closely associated with her.

While "Hearts" is referred to the heart shape appears from some Bloom's transformation scenes and her accessories.

(Is it weird to want to lewd Granny Smith from MLP?

I know that sentence is very ick just from that, but my idea is that anything with her would at least be set in the past when she would have just been Smith or something like that, and going by what I recall of Apple family lore, maybe she had a secret relationship with a member of a family who had farm land for growing oranges alongside the Apples & Pears, but they all moved away long ago because they didn't have enough land to cover their slow expansion from oranges to citrus fruits in general, so, maybe lost uncle/aunt for Applejack and siblings because the young adult Smith had a fling with an Orange?)

Not gonna lie, before I read the rest of this, I deeply judged and kink shamed you for wanting Granny puss puss. But younger her makes more sense. She is very cute and pretty.

I would imagine her name before taking on the Granny title would have been Maria Ann Smith because that's the woman Granny Smith Apples are named after. Her just being Smith doesn't sound right. That would be an interesting idea. Her having a fling with another family. I could get into that with younger version of her. Not- Old lady version of her. Not into old lady puss puss.

MLP Cheese Sandwich Headcanon

Oak Nut and Butternut from ‘The Best Gift Ever’.

Pros and cons:

Pros:

Their mane colour and type.

Oak Nut has green eyes.

An in between/blend of their coat colours would make Cheese Sandwich’s.

Pistachio Nut would be Cheese’s little brother.

It would give Cheese and Pinkie a little more in common (being older siblings, having grown up on a farm that farms extremely uncommon things [e.g., rocks and acorns], and growing up in the middle of nowhere).

The wiki doesn’t say who Cheese Sandwich’s family is (apart from Pinkie, Lil’ Cheese, and his in-laws).

It would explain why Cheese Sandwich feels the need to wear clothes.

Cons:

How Cheese Sandwich was allowed to travel so far away on his own as a little colt to actually find Pinkie Pie’s party in the first place.

Neither supposed parent has Cheese’s body type (but neither did Mr. and Mrs. Shy to produce Zephyr).

Cheese Sandwich doesn’t have “Nut” in his name (yet again, neither does Zephyr Breeze have “Shy” in his).

Family Headcanons:

There’s a small flock of chickens that live on a farm.

Before earning his cutie mark, Cheese had a pet hen (one of the farm’s chickens had abandoned one of her eggs and Cheese raised the egg on his own) named Bone Nut, but after 5/6 years she died after choking on an acorn. He treats Boneless (as well as Boneless II, III, IV, V, and VI) the same way that he treated Bone Nut.

Cheese always begging and wishing for a little sibling, so Butternut and Oak Nut adopt a baby Pistachio Nut (originally Orange Guacamoli).

When Cheese Sandwich was cutie markless, bullies used to relentlessly pick on him and when he refused to fight back and tell a teacher, they would then call him boneless. (This is where the excessive offence of being called boneless by Pinkie Pie in Pinkie Pride stemmed from). Oak Nut and Butternut both helped him through it.

To go with the latter, at first, he never told Pistachio about being bullied, because Pistachio is bullied himself and Cheese didn’t want to worry his brother further. Eventually, he told him and Pistachio managed to pluck up the courage to tell their parents about being bullied and his sexuality (as that was related to the subject).

Butternut and Oak Nut accept their children equally no matter what, even when some of those things (whether it be a quirk or identity-related) even if they don’t quite ‘get it’. But, if it concerns one or both of their sons, they’re more than willing to learn.

MLP Headcanon Dump

Just realized that I never bothered to post this on here. Heads up, this is a VERY long post.

Svengallop's parents are Charity Kindheart and Bracer Britches. The two had a brief affair, but never officially dated and Sven was an accident. Charity loved her son, but passed away due to illness when he was a teenager, so Sven was sent to live with his father who never wanted him. This has a lot to do with Svengallop's attitude as an adult.

All pure blooded draconequui are able to become pregnant or impregnate a partner, regardless of gender.

Wind Rider is a womanizer and serial adulterer with several illegitimate children, including Helia, Lighting Dust and Cloudy Daze among others.

There are some ponies who eat meat, such as fish, pork and chicken (eating beef and venison would be considered immoral since bovines and deer in Equestria are sentient). It's not particularly common and is actually considered gross by the majority, not unlike humans who eat insects. Equestria also has plenty of vegan alternatives that exist in our world, such as tofu and artificial meat.

The comic arc "Siege of the Crystal Empire" was actually just a fanfic written by Mina the dragon.

Tree Hugger is a member of the Hooffield Family. She ran away from home as a teen because she was sick of the constant fighting with the McColts. After running away she ended up joining a hippie commune, which is how she became the mare she is today.

Ocellus is the daughter of Queen Chrysalis. She will be queen of Thorax's hive after he is gone.

It is a tradition in Equestria for nurses to add 'heart' to the end of their names once they graduate nursing school. For example, Nurse Redheart's birth name is Redlove and Nurse Sweetheart is Sweetcream. This is in honor of Nurse Cureheart, the nurse credited for curing Celestia's broken heart after Luna's banishment.

The baby brother Hoops mentions in "The Cutie Mark Chronicles" is actually Spiral Notepad, who is now a trans filly.

Yaks speak Equestrian (aka English) so badly only because they have their own language and Equestrian is foreign to them.

The Kirin are thought to be the result of Asian unicorns interbreeding with dragons, but this has never been proven.

Derpy Hooves and Dinky Doo are mother and daughter, with Dinky having been born to Derpy when she was still in her teens. (I know it's an old headcanon, but I'll always have a soft spot for it.)

Quibble Pants is a natural blonde.

Derpy Hooves' real name is Ditzy Doo. "Derpy" was a childhood nickname that just kinda stuck.

Derpy has an eye condition called strabismus, hence the crooked eyes.

Crackle is a pseudodragon, a species of lizard that disguise themselves as dragons. Despite having twice as many limbs and gems growing out of them, they are accepted by dragons as one of their own.

Flash Sentry and Spearhead are brothers and are both descended from a pony that escaped the Crystal Empire during King Sombra's reign.

Sunset Shimmer and Sunburst are cousins.

Discord created Poison Joke.

Toe Tapper and Torch Song are the parents of Coco Pommel.

Hoity Toity is part mule, hence the long ears.

Celestia was born with an all-pink mane and tail and would have gained more shades of orange and yellow as she grew, but she instead gained hues of green and blue when she took over Luna's duty of raising the moon after Nightmare Moon's banishment.

Wind Sprint's original father died in a sports-related accident, which is why Clear Sky found comfort and common ground with Quibble Pants who was able to distract her from sports for a while. Unfortunately, as we all know from the episode, this had no effect on Wind Sprint's persistent love for sports.

Celestia was technically the first pony who managed to pull off a sonic rainboom, but it wasn't the same as Rainbow Dash's since she lacked the colors of a proper rainbow. Over time it was forgotten, but Celestia's "rainboom" was the basis of the sonic rainboom being a myth in the first place.

Pinkie Pie and Applejack's respective families are both descended from the children of Chancellor Puddinghead and Smart Cookie.

Orchard Blossom is an actual Apple family member that Big Mac was impersonating in "Brotherhooves Social".

Rainbow Blaze (the rainbow-maned stallion from "Games Ponies Play" who was confirmed is not Rainbow Dash's father) is Rainbow Dash's older brother.

The final alternate future seen in "The Cutie Remark-Part 2" where Equestria is nothing but an apocalyptic wasteland is a result of Daybreaker coming to life and burning everything to the ground into pure ash. It got so bad that it ultimately left Daybreaker with no kingdom to rule anymore. (As horrifying as it sounds, the dirt that Twilight and Starlight were standing on in that scene included the ashes of hundreds of dead ponies.)

Pear Butter and Bright Mac were killed by Timberwolves on a day trip. Sadly, Granny Smith considers herself responsible for this as she forgot to warn them about the Timberwolves that day. As a result, this is also why Applejack is so good at fighting them off.

Due to their godlike status, Celestia and Luna are the only immortal alicorns. Ordinary royalty like Twilight Sparkle, Cadance, and Flurry Heart have longer lifespans than normal ponies but can still die of old age.

Screwball is the daughter of Nurse Sweetheart and her eyes only become swirly when she's exposed to Poison Joke. The effect it has on her is that it makes her see weird stuff and she used to be addicted to it, but ended up quitting altogether as the last time she used it (around the time Discord returned) caused her to see some pretty nightmarish imagery.

The episode "Yakety Sax" was just a bad fever dream Pinkie Pie had after eating too much Yak cuisine one day.

All the changelings in Thorax's hive are siblings born from the same queen. Changelings do not interbreed with members of their own hive, though they may form family units with their siblings and adopt grubs to raise, hence the family of changelings Ocellus was seen with in "Hearths Warming Club".

Whoa Nelly's real name is Jelly Nelly Bean. Her large size is the result of a very rare pituitary disorder.

Fluttershy's human world counterpart is a vegan.

Aunt and Uncle Orange are both parental figures to Babs Seed. Whether they're her biological or adoptive parents in still unknown.

The hippocampus (aka the seaponies from the 2017 movie) once existed as a separate race, but are believed to have been driven to extinction because of the Sirens, who destroyed their homes, depleted their food sources, and even directly preyed on them. This was of course before Queen Novo fled into the sea and formed the seaponies we know from the 2017 movie.

Snap Shutter and Mane Allgood had Scootaloo later in life as they didn't really plan to have a foal, hence why they're such thoughtless parents.

Mane Allgood is actually a cousin of Daring Do.

Bulk Biceps is Featherweight's biological father. He was formerly married to an abusive, neglectful, and alcoholic wife, resulting in a divorce and Bulk and Featherweight moving to Ponyville and leaving her for good.

Cheese Sandwich is the younger brother of Marine Sandwich. The real reason he ran away from home and stumbled into Ponyville by chance is because he wanted to get away from his psychotic older sister. (Based off of this.)

Cheese Sandwich and Mudbriar are cousins.

Limestone Pie's talent is mixing drinks.

Burnt Oak is the father of the pony versions of Timber Spruce and Gloriosa Daisy.

Rumble is a trans colt.

Granny Smith's real name is Maria Ann Smith, or "Annie Smith" for short.

Fluttershy is the oldest of the Man Six, while Pinkie Pie is the youngest.

Trixie's full name is actually Bellatrix Lulamoon. She prefers to go by Trixie as it's easier to remember.

Tempest Shadow didn't receive her cutie mark until she was an adult, AFTER the events of the MLP movie where she started using her horn to make fireworks.

The draconequus were once a race of creatures that went to war against ponykind after their prince (aka Discord) was turned to stone. The war resulted in many of them being wiped out and it's currently unknown if any besides Discord still exist today.

Kirin shed and regrow their horns once a year, similar to deer antlers. Shed kirin horns make a powerful ingredient in potions.

Chapter 4. A V.I.L.E. Family Dinner

Daring Do, her eyes adjusting to the bright sunlight, saw the famous statue of CELESTIA IN VICTORY. That brought her up short because she knew that it had been stolen from Victory Park in mid Canterlot about three years ago. Nopony was sure of exactly when it was taken. Park workers going to clean it of pigeon droppings discovered that it had been replaced by a Styrofoam copy!

Staring about, she saw a plunge. It had four so-called “Wu Dogs”, one at each corner. Daring Do knew that those “dogs” were actually lions carved from descriptions in written texts that were given to stone carvers who had never seen a lion. She knew that those “dogs” and the swimming pool that they were a part of was once inside the palace of the Golden Emperor of the Chineighese Empire. Discovering that it was gone had created a huge scandal.

The cause of that scandal was lounging at the far end of the pool. A khaki colored unicorn mare in a fire engine red bikini hit the water in a near perfect dive. She made almost no splash and shot underwater like a living torpedo to the near end of the plunge.

Surfacing at the pool’s rim like a leaping porpoise, she put both forehooves on the pool edge and pushed, turning as she did so. The infamous and NEVER caught master thief Carmen Pondiego sat only a fraction of a second before rolling to her hooves and sprinting joyfully to them.

She called out, “Adora! Blendin said that he was bringing you and two other guests to dinner! I was not sure whether to believe him or not! We are having enchiladas! I made up enough for all of us.”

Daring Do could not dodge her mother’s hug with the Gryphons watching. Truthfully, she really did not want to. As she felt Carmen’s arms about her, she felt paradoxically safe and about to panic at the same moment.

She compromised by asking archly, “Enough for ALL of us? Where did you manage to steal that much?”

Stepping back but keeping her hooves on Daring Do’s shoulders, Carmen said with mock severity, “Adora, you wound me! This was a dinner for YOU. I did not steal the ingredients.”

Blendin pulled a wry face as he revealed, “Uncle Marehem stole them. We have not seen the headlines yet, so we don’t know where he got them.

“Want to join the betting pool, Sis? The pot is up to 800 golden bits!”

While Daring Do was thinking about it, Grata and Rahak, crests up and fluttering in Gryphon laughter asked, “Is that a family betting pool or can we join it?”

Blendin instantly replied, “It is open to anypony on the island. That includes you two.”

“Right. Who do we register our guess and place our bets with?”

Blendin snickered, “Me.”

“Five golden bits each, on the northwestern region of Mexipone.” They cheerfully gave Blendin their bits.

Daring Do, squinted her eyes in deep thought and hoofed over ten gold bits herself. “Ten. I am going for the Mexi-Queso Warehouse. Uncle M always likes getting the very best!”

Letting go of Daring Do, Carmen put a hoof over her eyes. “I am shamed by my own daughter. I should have thought of that!”

Blendin suggested, “Face saving by face stuffing? It is dinner time on the Island!”

Carmen nodded and led them through corridors hung with priceless art and past pedestals with small statuary and rare porcelains. They emerged into a dining room with a table of simple, elegant design.

It was Rahak who drew a breath of admiration. “A Chipenwood table. I never thought to see a real one in my lifetime.”

Grata’s eye was drawn to a smallish porcelain vase of white, blue and green with characters of the ancient X'ibian language decorating its surface. Awed, she turned to Carmen and asked, “The Heart of Discord? It is real after all?”

Carmen smiled broadly. “Yes, the Heart of Discord. No, it is not real. Yes, that is the only one in the whole world. My daughter’s last expedition to X'ibia created it by copying the true Heart of Wisdom to mislead some tomb robbers. Eris, the female form of Discord, came when it was used but she was not bound by it. I am very proud of this deception by my sweet Adora.”

Carmen disappeared into an adjoining room. There was an encouraging clatter of dishes from the room. Carmen emerged, having managed the trick of changing into her near trademark form fitting red dress and tinted glasses. She was carrying a big silver platter piled high with enchiladas. She set it onto hot pads on the table and returned with a second tray, only a little smaller than the first. This one got placed between Rahak and Grata.

The other guests entered the dining room. As they sat, Daring Do realized that her biological father, the alicorn Baron Von Nighthoof and Carmen were presently getting along well. He was at Carmen’s right hoof, but not before he had seated her like royalty. The glint of gold at her neck showed that she was wearing their copy of the Golden Necklace of Pharow Underrock that the Baron had given her.

Daring Do was seated at Carmen’s left hoof. Grata and Rahak were down table from Daring Do. Blendin and Kiros, the odd looking wolf hybrid with his black hair, horns and dragon like wings and tail, sat opposite them. At the foot of the table, in his usual place, was Daring Do’s uncle Marehem, a blue Misfortune Changeling with orange hair.

As soon as all were seated, Carmen tapped the side of her glass (a rare Stuborn glass, Daring Do noticed) to get attention. “Marehem, my dear, the betting pool is all here. Where did you obtain the ingredients for our dinner?”

He ran a blue hoof through his pumpkin colored hair. “Um, could I have the guesses?”

Blendin nodded and pulled out his list. “To make things easiest, they are all in Mexipone.

“Baron Von Nighthoof thought that you went to Mexipone City because the place is such hodgepodge that nopony would miss them.

“Carmen guessed Ox-Huaca valley somewhere.

“Kiros thought perhaps, Casa Nquesa.

“Our two Gryphon guests suggested northwestern Mexipone.

“Adora was specific. She said the Mexi-Queso warehouse because you wanted the best.”

Marehem smiled wickedly. “Adora, you should put aside all of your problems with Carmen. You would make a fantastic agent! You hit it on the head. Technically, I did not take it from their warehouse. I got it from their aging cave about an hour before it was due to go to the warehouse to be packaged and labeled.”

Grata’s eyes were darting from object to object in the room. She ventured, “I have seen some of these in the Imperial Museum. The reproductions are excellent.”

With considerable pride, Carmen replied, “Indeed they are. That is why the originals have not been missed! These are the originals.”

Grata paused in deep thought. “Then it is not a coincidence of names. You are Carmen Pondiego, reputed to be a Master Thief unexcelled in history. Since Daring Do is your daughter, so we have been hearing, then the origin of her astounding skill at locating and recovering ancient artifacts is well explained.”

Carmen nodded sadly. “That is true. I wish that she could see it that way.”

Acidly, Daring Do retorted, “I do. Don’t worry about that!”

Marehem, seeing the enchiladas getting cold, as a family battle heated up, called cheerfully, “Food! Now that I have your attention, there is a huge pile of enchiladas here, just waiting to be eaten! The bet has been settled. ANYTHING else can wait!”

Grabbing serving tongs he snagged FOUR of the big enchiladas and a healthy serving of salad. Blendin got the message and joined in. For a moment, the serving tray resembled the main course at shark feeding frenzy as they all dived in!

When all of the plates were loaded, Carmen looked at the tray with satisfaction. “Looks like there will be plenty for seconds or more. I thought that I made enough.”

Rahak was whispering to Grata. She retorted, “If the Imperial Museum hasn’t noticed, why should WE tell them? Besides, the originals are perfectly safe here. Use your eyes. This whole place is a museum in its own right. I will bet that every item here is perfectly documented.”

Blendin nodded emphatically. Swallowing a bite of enchilada in haste, he agreed. “Keeping the catalog of mom’s acquisitions keeps me hopping!”

Grata raised her cup and toasted, “To Carmen Pondiego! A mare of discernment and taste!”

Daring Do only thought for a second before joining in. After all, it was perfectly true! “To Carmen Pondiego!”

At the last, there was only one lonely enchilada left on the silver platter, now easily seen to be a priceless Pony Revere.

Blendin spoke up, “Part of the reason that I brought the Gryphons here was to see if you could put them near the site where the Gryphons originated, Uncle M.”

Marehem shook his head, “No, I am afraid not, Blendin. The time span is no problem. There is no way to use the equipment safely anywhere near to the mangled spells and random magic fallout from the Circle and Crescent Lake blasts at the end of the second Nightmare War. That whole area is deadly for a fifty year span.”

Blendin inquired, “Deadly, M? How so?”

Dryly M pointed out, “If you can not get back, the effect is the same. If we try to use our temporal displacement engine anywhere near that magical fallout region, all connection to the present will be severed.

“For you, the effect is the obliteration of your timeline. You cease to exist the instant that you land anywhere in that danger zone.”

Rahak, crest up, turned to Blendin and said, “We thank you for at least checking on a possibility for us to see what happened. It appears that we will have to track that weather and see if we can find the proper place where our kind originated.”

Daring Do observed, “Your legends actually do offer a lot of help. Your place of origin is set with the TWIN FIRES OF CREATION east of the eagles.

“Assuming that the Twin Fires of Creation are the Mage blasts that created Circle Lake and Crescent Lake, that would indicate a place in the Sunset Mountains on the western edge of Equestria. Add in the tactical weather data and we should be able to get pretty close to it.”

With a slightly predatory look, Carmen inquired far to innocently, “What do you hope to find, Adora?”

Daring Do looked up alertly, “Nothing of real value in any monetary or aesthetic sense, Mother. We hope to find physical remains of some of the earliest Gryphons. If their legends are to be believed, they started as hippogriffs and became the Gryphons that we know now.”

Kiros, a hybrid himself, suggested, “That makes perfect sense. Gryphons could not have come from an unforced mating of lions and eagles. Both are competitive carnivores and the size disparity is against it too.

“Eagles and pegassi are a lot closer, a better mating size match. The intelligence would have come from the pegasus but so would an herbivore digestive tract. Normally, that would doom the cross from malnutrition. With a lot random spell recombination in the fallout, some of the fallout might have caused survivors that hatched to force morph to a carnivore diet and hindquarters.”

Daring Do stared at him in surprise. “I did not know that you were interested in Gryphon origins, Kiros.”

Laconicly, he pointed to his horns, dragon like wings and tail along with his wolf like features. “I am not. I am interested in Hybridization. Any guesses as to WHY?”

Daring Do nodded as she helped herself to the last enchilada, “I see. Thanks for the dinner, mom. I am afraid that we have to be going, now though.”

Blendin nodded, “Might as well, the food is all gone! I’ll see you to Mom’s door to the Great Library. We will just connect it straight across to the Canterlot Main Door.”

As they were strolling through the halls and colonnades to the massive steel doors of the Great Library, Carmen caught up to them. “Blendin, dear, I need to dig up a bunch of clues for the Green Ruby of Cashin. Is it OK if I tag along?”

“Sure, Mom. No problem.”

Daring Do looked surprised. “The Green Ruby is your next target?”

Carmen managed to look both affronted and amused at the same time. “Of course not! All those clues I give the Gumshoes? I am NEVER after that thing. If I get it, great! If not, who cares? I ALWAYS get the thing that I AM after.”

Rahak’s crest shot up, rippling laughter. “Misdirection! I love it.”

Grata nodded, her own crest showing the ripples of amusement.

They came to the massive steel doors of the Great Library. Blendin inserted his ID into a spell reader and said, “Daring Do party to exit at the Canterlot main doors. Carmen Pondiego and I to research room nine.”

Carmen said, as the steel faded to mist, “Do come back, Adora. It was lovely to finally let you see our home.”

Walking through the steel mist, Daring Do and her companions emerged inside the Royal Library. As they strolled toward the street, shaking her head, Daring Do said, “Carmen Pondiego has her OWN door to the Great Library? That explains SO O O much!”
