Reading the ML bible and god. If we thought Qillin, Dearest Family, Guilt Trip, Mega Leech, and Bakerix were horrible in how they handle ""heavy topics"", get ready for season 5.

Qillin: "Police Brutality is bad, We promise Sabine has literally any connection to her culture and isn't just a caricature, we swear! Also we're blaming Marinette for her mother being the target of racial profiling!! "

Dearest Family: "haha, isn't Tikki so funny. Hahahahah isn't Tikki so funny. Isn't it so funny how tikkis acting. Isn't it funny. Aren't eating disorders funny? Isn't how Marinette acting so funny?? Guilt trip: has Adrien try to commit suicide via Cataclysming himself for the sole reason they knew it would make them trend on social media, the show and characters literally never address it or talk about mental health.

Rose exists literally just as inspiration for abled parents watching, telling disabled and chronically ill children that its pretty much their responsibility to be cheerful and peppy all the time and that no one should ever learns they're disabled because it's ~so embarrassing~

Mega Leech: "We care about the environment!!! And don't you know You're a bad person if you're not spending your every waking moment protesting and trying to save the planet?? Also Marinette in particular is soooo sorry because she forgot how important the environment is :( :( :( we're so progressive aren't we???"

Bakerix: "Roland is outcast from his family so much so that Marinette didn't even know he existed, this is because *checks notes to make sure we wrote down the very obvious metaphor for racism* he doesn't want to bake french bread with Rice flour, which is very clearly about how he doesn't want his son to marry a Chinese woman because it's "not proper! That's now how it's done!" Roland refuses to even acknowledge Marinette as his mixed race granddaughter, until she finally forces him to see that... Mixing wheat and rice flour makes a better bread? That she, the product of her white french father, is not "ruined" by her Chinese inheritance?

Roland literally, textually, disinherited Tom because Tom dared to break away from his father's strict, unyielding, conservative traditions and happily blended his own culture with that if his wife."

Ivonne and Penelope swap au idea

♡After the novel timeline ending, Leila manages to somehow come back and uses her magic to reverse time because she wanted to live her life this time instead of destroying the world, regretting killing everyone when she still had the chance. Only this time she possesses Penelope's body because she thought using Ivonne was more prone to failure than Penelope after being defeated and she ends up reversing way too much back in time from using all her magic out of panic to survive, where the Duke hadn't adopt Penelope yet and she takes the chance to jump from Ivonne's body to Penelope's.

♡Meanwhile og!Ivonne who was about to reincarnate is confused but happy to be back to her body again but now she has to find her way back home and face Leila who's trying to kill her and get rid of her (ironically being an actual villain trying to be loved by everyone) to finally get her proper revenge. But unfortunately Leila used brainwashing, guilt-tripping, playing hard to get and pleasing everyone (especially Derrick) for six years like Siyeon kind of did to get everyone's favour, making Penelope grow up to be beloved and adored princess in the mansion so it would be hard for Ivonne to defeat her. (Hilariously though, Leila is also kind of grossed out by Derrick of how he's in love with Penelope despite her being his sister but away)

♡And Ivonne does have difficulty trying to defeat Leila because unlike Siyeon she has no idea how cunning Leila is and how she's always a step ahead or how to get back home so she gets the help of Vinter who's already under Leila's brainwashing but still sort of on her side, to find her way back to the mansion and see her family again. When she sees Penelope who she last remembered talking to in the mirror of truth, Ivonne was looking forward to talking to her again until Penelope starts to trick her into getting into trouble, acting like she was getting hurt by her and making her out as jealous and selfish girl 'who doesn't want to share her family with her' Ivonne gets super confused on why she was like this until she recognises Leila who took her body, inside Penelope and panics.

♡Unfortunately everyone has completely fell under Leila's spell so they started to think Ivonne is being insensitive and mean considering Penelope's pitiful past--reminding Ivonne of how she used to hate Penelope for stealing her family and home. Even though she could live fine with Ivonne in the mansion too, Leila thought that she just didn't like her and wanted her dead so she would make traps for Ivonne who was still a naive child inside, fall into it and get in trouble. The Duke incredulously wonders why his real daughter is being like this and scolds her for 'hurting Penelope' when she just wanted to have a family and get along, Derrick and Reynold both begin to speak coldly and disappointingly while the workers of the mansion and other MLs act like Penelope's bodyguard as if she were evil, which hurts Ivonne so much because she was hoping to come back home with familiarly and open arms after not seeing them in so long.

♡And Leila is enjoying the attention from being rejected for the first time in the novel timeline, still bitter and dejected by it, now Ivonne seriously hates Leila and wants to kill her to avenge herself so just like Siyeon, she does her best to survive, win everyone's respect and gain everyone's favour again. But mentally she's still her little child self, not knowing a lot of basic things and taking care of herself so she also tries to learn how to do those too while Leila goes all out to kill her and tease her amusingly with threats at the same time, making Ivonne seeth in silence. Fortunately for Ivonne, apparently Leila's magic had kind of muddled up in the process of reversing time so everyone slowly starts to remember Penelope in the novel timeline.

♡It dwindles Leila's brainwashing and help their fake affections revert back to real affection they had for Penelope (AND Ivonne they've always missed since their affection for Penelope also carried their guilt for her because of Ivonne), causing them to wonder why they were being so hard on Ivonne at random times. This was also the reason why everyone treasured Penelope, because they actually first remembered their guilt for Penelope which brought their stront thoughts on how they should've believed her and realise that Ivonne (Leila) was dangerous. For example; Callisto always followed Leila around like a puppy yet looked like he was always lost and confused as if the Penelope he was looking at wasn't the one he remembered as the one he loved.

♡And the Duke and Reynold still carrying some regrets from the novel timeline showered Leila with special attention, thinking she's really Penelope as Derrick actually does his best to defend and treat 'Penelope' respectfully like he knows he should have done before if he wanted her to love him, funnily only doing this now at the wrong time when his real sister needed him. Iklies was almost creepily obsessing over Leila while being wary at the same time and Vinter expressed strong feelings to do whatever for her, as if to make up for the things he had done while still deeply in love with her. Then with the memories of Leila-Ivonne they feel uncomfortable around Ivonne, especially when she's just being kind or cries since that was what Leila did back then.

♡Like a sort of opposite of Penelope who made tantrums crying out of for help but got ignored because everyone thought she was just being her usual selfish self, nobody cared for Ivonne even when she cried because they think she's doing that for attention although she's just asking for help in reality. Vinter becomes the first one to remember everything since he's a wizard with Ivonne trying to convince him since he's the only one she knows closely who could help (from being together inside the mirror for so long ) He instantly sees Leila in Penelope, starting to trust Ivonne and helps her find a way to stop Leila. During the process Vinter tells Ivonne what happened to Penelope in the novel timeline where she could tell he liked Penelope from the way he spoke about her in a guilty and longing manner.

♡Then the second person to escape Leila's brainwashing is (maybe) Iklies who creepily for some reason can tell Leila isn't the real Penelope he loved and is looking for, joining Ivonne to help her. But Leila orders Callisto to kill Ivonne, so Vinter makes sure to remember to revert back time for Ivonne to save everyone this time. On the downside, he can only go back to where the original start of the game is placed before Penelope's birthday, though Ivonne at least manages to still remember everything and still tries to make everyone see Leila, only to be killed again and she starts to gain trauma over the abuse and death she went through. Throughout this, Ivonne starts to see how Penelope must've been treated and feel strange about how she used to hate her without knowing anything and with this along with the years she spent to defeat Leila, helps her grow up and mature like she should have after staying as a lost child for so long and figure out how to save Penelope who she figured must be inside the mirror like she was before.

♡Leila is starting to get annoyed with Vinter who keeps turning back time when she just wants to live a nice life without Ivonne, so she tries to think of an idea of how to get rid of him as well. She probably would kill or kind of put Vinter in some trance, leaving Ivonne on her own but just like Siyeon went through, Ivonne would almost be brainwashed into killing herself as well before running away to find a way to break Leila's brainwashing. And when she manages to break it, everyone is confused for a bit because to them it feels like they shifted into another realm for a second before clicking back into their normal selves from the novel timeline, and finally notice the Penelope they remembered wasn't the one they knew from how different she acted.

♡Leila is now super pissed that everything is ruined and she hilariously can't do whatever she wants because she holds Penelope's terrible reputation, also a result of the curse she put on all wizards to be ostracized forever herself. Even though everyone at the end of the novel timeline started to respect Penelope and like her, it wasn't enough for Leila to be able to go anywhere or do anything without being watched over by the Duke AND they all remembered Leila in Ivonne's body so she goes insane enough to do anything to get rid of Ivonne and Vinter. But Ivonne reveals her secret and everyone immediately feels something click in like they finally realised what was bothering them for so long, and get really riled up that she had returned and also took over Penelope's body.

♡Now Leila switches her goals to finally killing everyone for once and for all, even if it meant that her own clan would kill her after releasing the dragon out of stubbornness and as an act of her only hope to survive without feeling defeat, causing a whole entire battle with her and the whole empire. Leila with almost no more mana weakens yet she still uses it all to summon the most biggest attack on the empire, nearly destroying everything but Ivonne manages to kill her and completely dimish her soul with a relic and bring back Penelope back to life because even though she used to hate her for many years, she still felt sorry for her when she realised what she was going through.

♡Callisto made it sure to Ivonne to keep Penelope's body safe (insert lots of eyerolls from an annoyed Ivonne) so they could revive her with the help of Vinter and doing so almost got everyone killed but they managed and Ivonne goes into the slightly broken mirror to get her. When Penelope comes back, she's glad to be out of there after so long but still pissed at Leila for trying to kill her, and she and Ivonne spend time together to chat over what happened, finally get along as sisters and bringing back peace in them again knowing Leila definitely won't come back this time--though Penelope is kind of weirded out to hear about how she was adored and doted over by everyone while Leila was in her body.

♡Everyone especially the Duke is happy because he has both of his real daughters alive now, but also sad when remembering how they treated Ivonne because of Leila. The Duke is convinced he really is the worst dad now although Ivonne forgives him because she's just happy to be alive with him now, making Penelope question whether she should forgive everyone quickly as well but Ivonne tells her she shouldn't since the abuse she went through was even worse because she had no chance to be loved at the start, unlike her. Then Penelope decides to leave to continue studying and traveling like back then, even though the Duke and Reynold is uncomfortable of her leaving because they're paranoid that they'll almost lose her again.

♡Luckily Ivonne reassures them and spends the rest of her life back at home like she should, rebuilding the torn relationship with her family who lost her, replaced her and neglected her while knowing it wasn't done on purpose--only mad at what they did to Penelope, but just glad she was able to see them again instead of accepting her fate as last time. On the otherhand she has Vinter around as a friend who she gained a brotherly relationship with, maybe also a tad crush if he didn't still love Penelope and everyone else who missed her too. (Also Derrick is lost and sad that he didn't really get to rekindle everything to Penelope after finding out she was actually Leila but who cares about him)

This show, unsurprisingly given the topic, is heavy on patriotism and propaganda but its portrayal of trauma, PTSD, survivor’s guilt and issues coming to grip with chronic conditions are all surprisingly real.

Even though he’s survived, he’s clearly depressed and haunted by his fellow pilots who died...

When he goes to memorial ceremony for pilots who died, ouch!

I mean, this is not a well man in any sense, psychological included.

Like, what a nightmare!

His commander is...well, sure what this man needs is more guilt trips for orders that got people killed, he looks joyful and over confident! (It was one thing if he genuinely blamed the ML or wanted to punish him, but instead it was a weird “you should accept blame and then fine” moment which - the man is stewing in it already wtf.)

He was clearly always super fit, to be a fighter pilot so this is extra disorienting for him.

(chowlings) Seriously sick and tired of Tera in the server, just a selfish saunt simp who is so fucking entitled. A relationship doesn't work out for their chow? Time to guilt trip the other's owner and whine about it publically in the server in sales posts. They got a strike for this exact behavior and still keep copying the same guilting sales post LMAO. Someone shared their design WIP that had caution tape on it so they ran up and complained that it looked too much like their bestie's chow themed "Petri Dish" and it made the person feel terrible that they're scrapping it altogether (would have shown a screenshot but it was deleted after this). Like bitch your friend doesn't own the concept of caution tape on a tail. Their chow is bright red and brown while the design WIP was all scenecore and a mishmash of everything. Like there's so many designs on the ML that are so similar, but if it's your friend's, heaven forbid they use a portion of it, way to pick and choose your battles. Didn't even take it to DMs either, just nitpicked publically to shame them. They take everything way too personally, I seriously hope they fucking leave, they are a leech on the community, no wonder no one keeps relationships with their character, that they got from saunt for FREE 😂😂😂 Get your head out of your ass and learn that it's not all about you in the world. It's like alexdiren all over again, no one wants you here. Shame they're in other CS too apparently, they shouldn't be in any art communities at all.

If that rumor is true (everyone gettLMAOs free cham myo when the site is finished and the hiatus ends) it sounds more like a joke because I recall that in past announcements for event rewards, the mods are hesitant on rewarding so many MYO slots because there are tons that still have not been designed on the ML. Even though rewarding more MYO slots would make the group more welcoming to new users that only show up to get their own funky lizard. The reality of it seems more like another raffle and only a select few will win. The fact they bring up that the ML is full of undesigned MYOs is only because:

People are catering to the group's rules. They can't make their chimereon design because you have to grind/trade to get desired items, while there is a cap on how many Beetoles you can earn from gift art. (Thankfully there isn't a cap on what's earned through selling items and commissions to my knowledge.) plus, the shop that gives you the fun stuff artists use more often is closed. If you wanna put sprinkles on your cham's ass better wait for the next event that's several months from now. (Or if someone is feeling happy enough to trade.)

It's insanely disrespectful to the artists because you don't know what they have going on in their lives. They can't always draw for the group.

On the other end, there are group members who snag onto and hoard up to 20 undersigned MYOs and advertise them in trade channels only seeking swaps. Meanwhile new users have to pay out the ass for adopts and customs if their luck has been sucking the past ten free raffles they entered.

Not to whine and complain, but it sucks to see new users and users that don't have any chams anymore trying to get one, practically struggling. I think a few implements have made it easier for FTOs and NOs to get a cham but it feels pitiful.

Not to mention its against the rules for these users to complain in chat about how they didn't get a cham this round because it "brings down the mood" I've never seen it get out of hand to the point it's a fight. It just sounds more like "Hey, you're ruining the mood for the WINNERS!"

If users are purposely guilt tripping or harassing others for their characters, yeah, that's bad. ADDRESS THAT. but don't silence people because they're upset about YOUR weird system.

In the end I just think that the number for FTO free raffle should be increased (to 20 instead of 10 at least)

And users who won a raffle, bought an adopt, or got a custom, shouldn't be drawn again in the next event they attend so it gives other people a slightly higher chance to win. (If people get chams from trades and stuff that's fine, it's just the group and mod hosted stuff)

Also, shednut. I remember that hype... The excitement... The therories...

I always thought the whole "we can't give out too many MYOs because we have too many unused ones" thing was kinda weird ngl

My Roommate is a Gumiho

personal opinion

I thought it was really fun to watch and had just enough fluff between the main couple to keep me going. But, in all honesty, they missed the mark. It wasn’t giving as much as I would’ve wanted or expected. I think they totally missed their opportunity to delve deeper into the whole “no means no” aspect of the plot. I applaud Lee Dam for constantly standing up for herself and being direct with her thoughts & feelings. However, I don’t think it’s right to excuse it as her personality trait; like that’s who she is. That explanation makes it seem like it’s a trait that girls/women have to born with instead of learned. Every girl/woman, in one way or another, learns to stand up for herself. It’s not a personality trait! That detail bothered me throughout the whole drama ngl. It was also explained that the fl was oblivious to flirtation, which I get. Not all of us know. Still! I think she’s simply not interested. Obviously she fell in love with the ml, Shin Woo-Yeo. So she’s not an invalid, she just knows herself enough to know that she’s simply not interested in anyone.

Another detail that was on my mind is is Sun-Woo. His contribution to the plot was prolonged and unnecessary (?) First of all, he couldn’t take no for an answer? How many times did Lee Dam have to reject him?! and he lowkey guilt-tripped her by playing the victim. However! I still gotta give him some credit because his character growth was still one of the better ones. Everyone was quite stagnant/static, tbh. What annoyed me the most was how Lee Dam insisted that she was going to decide her own path, her own fate. But in the end it was Sun-Woo’s decision to go abroad that inevitably cut the ‘red string of fate’, not her. I understand the sentiment and what it was trying to convey, but it didn’t hit the way I’d like or maybe even the way the writers tried to convey.

One more point that’s heavy on my mind. Lee Dam was slut shamed too often!!! can’t there be another way to drive the plot? Honestly I can go on and on but I gotta stop before I go on a tangent.

Just to reiterate, this is my personal take on the drama. Like what you like, enjoy what you enjoy! I understand this is supposed to be a fun drama, so some details aren’t meant to be taken more seriously.
