SHAY MITCHELL at the 2023 CFDA Awards on November 6th 2023 wearing HERVÉ LÉGER

Shay looked so chic at the CFDA Awards. She had one of my favorite looks of the night and it was such a stunning outfit.

I really loved the ponytail, it really let the neckline shine. The silver and red neckline was really clean and beautiful. It was so interesting, and not something seen a lot. The rest of the dress was so nicely tailored and fitted Shay perfectly. The connected sheer sleeve and glove on the one side felt so elegant and looked amazing. I also love that she wore a bracelet on that side over the material, and that it complimented the silver neckline.

While writing this, it did occur to me that I’m not sure how Shay washed her hands while at this event. But, sometimes you need to make sacrifices for fashion. This was a phenomenal look!

I’ve always loved Disney Channel original movies 🫶🏼 Even those who came after everyone my age stopped watching them. I kept watching them. I always find something meaningful in every Disney Channel movie, even if it’s something small. And Teen Beach Movie 2 wasn’t the exception. I watched it when I was 16 and I enjoyed it so much The songs are soooo goood! 💗 But what I enjoyed the most was Lela’s story 🥰 So I made this zine in honor of her character 👑 Lela, Queen of the Beach 🌊

Pokemon Horizons Episode 19 Review - Bitter And Sweet Memories

Not all backstories can and will be as majestic and well-animated like Friede’s. Sometimes, they can just be brought up to resolve long conflicts and to put a character in the spotlight. That was what this episode was about. It brought Murdock into the spotlight, brought his backstory, and then resolved it towards the end of the episode. I did like how it revolves around Murdock’s Alcremie that rarely gets focus in past episodes.

The Rising Volt Tacklers arrive in Galar, but decide to park the airship into the Wild Area as they don’t want to stick out too much as the Explorers might spot them on their way to see Liko’s grandmother. The trains are out of service for today, so Liko, Roy and Murdock go explore Motostoke City for shopping and visiting the Battle Cafe at the request of Dot who wants to use their famous Swirlix Cotton Candy as a prop for her next video. It turns out that the owner of the Battle Cafe is none other than Mitchell, an old friend and former business partner of Murdock whom he parted with on bad terms. They used to work together in a small sweets shop where their sweets were super popular thanks to Milcery’s milk. One day, Milcery played with a strawberry and spun around, causing her to evolve into the Ruby Swirl Alcremie that is with Murdock in the present. While she enhances Murdock’s strawberry sweets, she does not fit well with Mitchell’s matcha sweets; this caused them to have a falling out after Mitchell lashed out against Alcremie and Murdock. Their tension continues in the present.

Right off the bat, why does it seem like Murdock’s backstory with Mitchell and Alcremie seem like divorced dads in a way? Is it just me who thinks this way? The way it was executed seem like two dads having a falling out after their daughter went through puberty and changed in a way that Mitchell didn’t want her to be. I’m sorry if I made things fruity, but that was how I saw their interactions with each other. I’m glad that they managed to resolve their issues in the end. I think the best part of these RVT backstories is that there are still more about them yet to be revealed. Murdock’s backstory only showed a portion of his life and I hope that more about him will be revealed.

About Murdock, I really like that, despite being an adult, he’s still emotional and sensitive. Adults are still people at the end of the day, so it’s normal for them to cry or feel angry in certain situations. I’m glad that children like Liko understand that; it will be a good lesson for kids to learn if they were watch this episode. I really like Kenta Miyake’s voice acting in this episode; he knows how to nail Murdock’s sensitivity to show how the issue still bothers him.

Mitchell, the character of the day, is quite the character. I do like how flawed he is because he’s still human at the end of the day. He knew it was wrong to hurt Alcremie but he couldn’t help but to feel envious of Murdock’s talents. The food industry is a competitive field, after all; it makes sense if there are tensions and rivalries. I do like that he might be the anime counterpart of the Cafe Master in SwSh with how he owns a Slurpuff and runs the Battle Cafe as the owner; I like how all of his Pokemon are based on desserts in a way. I’m actually surprised he is voiced by the one and only Hikaru Midorikawa. If you’re not familiar with Midorikawa, he voices N in Pokemon Masters, Damian and Mandi in the original series. His non-Pokemon roles includes Sakamoto from Haven’t You Heard, I’m Sakamoto, Zelgadis from Slayers and Garou from One Punch Man. He’s a seriously famous veteran voice actor, so hearing him as a sudden COTD for this episode was a welcoming surprise from me.

The battle between Mitchell, Liko and Murdock ended up being a silly one. It was nice seeing what Alcremie could do and seeing Appletun using Apple Acid on screen. My favorite part was Alcremie using her cream to make a terastal-like headpiece on Sprigatito’s head. I didn’t mind the battle transitioning into a sweets battle, but I did want to see them actually bring out a table and start making the sweets and not do slideshows. All of the sweets they make look delicious, however; this is perfect for people who love sweets—I love matcha sweets!

I love how this episode ended, however. Roy was looking around for clues about the black Rayquaza and one lead he got was asking Kabu, the Motostoke City’s Gym Leader, since he’s from Hoenn. The episode ended just as Kabu got introduced. I think it’s a good way to end off the episode as Kabu will be the star of next week’s episode. What are your thoughts about this episode? Did it make you crave for sweets like how I did?

I tend to keep very detailed journals of quotes/lines/paragraphs from books (and all media, really) that I really enjoy, but I don't always have them physically on me when I want to look things up, so I've decided I'm also going to start keeping a detailed digital journal here! This likely just means if I finish a book and really enjoyed it it'll foster the need for me to create a long post of every quote or part that was notable to me and that I knew I'd want to be able to access easily if necessary. (you would not believe how often I deem it necessary to look up the precise phrasing and wording of quotes such as this).

it'll be under the tag #infinity journal because that is the name of one of my other personal online databases of things such as this. That being said:

I just finished Vicious and I'm going to pull out some of the quotes I really liked and put them here so that they are easily accessible to me and perhaps that will make me feel a modicum less insane.

This feels obvious but Spoilers for Vicious by V. E. Schwab under the cut!

"By the time the first bell rang, signaling the end of Victor's art elective, he'd turned his parents' lectures on how to start the day into: 'Be lost. Give up. give In. In the end It would be better to surrender before you begin. be lost. Be lost And then you will not care if you are ever found.' / He'd had to strike through entire paragraphs to make the sentence perfect after he accidentally marked out ever and had to go on until he found another instance of the word. But it was worth it. The pages of black that stretched between if you are and ever and found gave the words just the right sense of abandonment."

Eli seemed intent to slaughter them, but Victor didn't see why a useful skill should be destroyed, just because of its origin."

"And what happens when we're dead?" / "We won't die, then." / "You make cheating death sound so simple." / "We do seem awfully good at it," said Victor cheerfully. He lifted his glass. "To never dying." / "To being remembered." / Their glasses clinked as Eli added, "Forever."

"For and Ever. / The words were several pages apart, separated and surrounded by a sea of black. Not only that, but the word ever had been altered, part of a larger word, the for- preceding it blotted carefully out, which meant Victor was not trying to piece together the word forever from the text. / He clearly wanted it to be two separate words. Distinct. / For. / Ever."

"And Ulysses stopped up his ears against the siren's song," recited Victor, pulling the plugs from his own ears as Serena collapsed to the dirt lot, "for it was death."

"I watch you, and it's like watching two people." ... "It's why I let you stay," said Victor. "Why I liked you. All that charm outside, all that evil inside. There was a monster under there, long before you died."

"Enough," said Victor. Behind his eyes, the dial turned up. Eli screamed. "You aren't some avenging angel, Eli," he said. "You're not blessed, or divine, or burdened. You're a science experiment."

"You don't understand," gasped Eli. "No one understands." / "When no one understands, that's usually a good sign that you're wrong."

"Some hero," he heard Victor whisper with his two last, labored breaths.

I don't remember much but I think we were staying at the same hotel and we were both super annoyed cause we hated each other (the ✨tension✨👌🏻), and he was super pissed cause I was staying on the same floor as him right across the hall. He looked just like HOTD premiere Ewan but had his sapphire in (and he wasn't wearing his eyepatch😊) And on our way back to this hotel we had to walk down some alleyways and I stole his leather jacket and he kept following me around trying to get it back, but I wasn't letting him🤭
