@undred ( natasha r ) . i can feel you sneakin’ in .
never could leave well enough alone , couldn’t let a thing exist in a box without poking it and finding out if it’s in fact dead or alive . darcy seems to have a habit of finding herself wrapped up in their messes , gets pulled closer to the place she doesn’t want to be , but the simple fact of it seems to be that they’re surrounded by stories . AND WHAT IS SHE BUT A DEALER IN TRUTH ? it’s strange working herself into one of those household names that people either love or hate , strange to think that it’s considered a bad thing that she spends hours unpicking locks that never should have been placed . there’s no blood on these fingers , but ink stains too and there are sleepless nights when she cannot help but believe her whole world to be a fabrication . who is anyone without truth ? ( it hasn’t set her free . )
❝ technically , ❞ great start to a sentence , but the word lingers slowly on her lips , giving a moment’s breathing room to explain why she’s there . the truth is that the world needs to know , that secrets do far more harm than good . ❝ you caught me sneaking out . which is not just semantics , because it does imply that i’m breaking the law slightly less than i was a little bit ago . ❞ the defence falls quickly , wrapped up in a biting sarcasm designed to hide the way her voice wants to shake . she was meant to be getting good at this .
