been super depressed all day because my government has proposed an irish version of the british austerity measure that killed so many disabled people when they were forced back into work

it's just a green paper at the moment but it's so horrifying i don't know how to process it at all

because i'm "just autistic" i would fall under "medium support" and be forced into part time work. y'know, the thing that made me bed ridden after just four weeks this summer.

i just don't know what to do. how we oppose this.

we were gonna pick up a kitten tonight because we were thinking of getting another cat anyway and the owner had gotten her and their older cat just wasn't getting along with the kitten. they'd asked if we could pick her up straight away tonight and I said yes and then she turned around and said actually I'm sorry we're gonna wait a few more days we're giving our older cat some stuff to make him more calm? like. it's a tough and heartbreaking decision I am fully aware but you'd already gotten to the point of asking someone else to take her and even preparing for her to be collected and to turn around and do that is just annoying

Was going to write a whole meta post about how the new Ascended Astarion kiss scene is meant to make the player feel uncomfortable and reflect on the tragedy and the horror of him deciding to ascend and not glorify the choice --

-- but instead after seeing yesterday's video, I can't take it seriously because it's just too much. Too cheesy, makes me think of Fifty Shades.

#astarion ancunin #like by all means make a dominating and possessive kiss scene for the character who literally gives his soul away for power #but i think it would have worked better if it was just a 'i will grab you and force you to look at me' thing rather than the 'on your knees #like i can't remember which kiss scene it was that people were modding but the one where there are gifs of astarion moving tav's face almos #forcefully works a lot better to me? #idk. then again i've very much come to learn that my take on ascended astarion is more born from the classic gothic romanticism and #horror genre than what larian / most of the fanbase is going for. #i'm going to wait for the patch to actually drop but i *do* like that we get more variation in kisses via characters and personalities #misc: personal
