I've tried so many times making whole in depth posts about this, but I never get it done properly. So I'll just keep it very brief for now:
Marinette giving out every miraculous at the end of S5, so making a team of 16 additional miraculous holders now as full time heros she says she wants to help coming into their own as their leader and guardian, is the most hilarious dark red sign I've ever seen in this show
Tumblr media
Marinette can barely handle Chat Noir being an individual with his own pov, actual emotions she has to acknowledge in her leadership, agency that isn't just catering to her and having human rights attached to his body (at least that she got better at in s5, although it's questionable how much that was influenced by her literally having no other choice in s5 but to treat him better. I guess s6 will put that into perspective)
and in s5 both Chat and Alya were two halves of ONE PARTNER bc Chat had to accept that he isn't allowed to exist as civilian in Ladybug's leadership, all while both Alya and Chat had to basically take care of her as their main job.
What makes Marinette THINK she can handle 16 new miraculous holders who act as individuals with existing LIVES, and not just being her chosen power vessels who can't act on their own?
Just the thought of it honestly makes me laugh because nothing in Canon implies Marinette's leadership can actually handle heros doing their own thing as individuals. She will have a meltdown when any of them act on their own as heros of Paris in any greater way.
Imagine Vesperia being put on spot by being near a robbery and her using her venom on a civilian person (the robber) and then Cerise has the police go up against her and Ladybug as the team leader for abuse of power?
Imagine Pigella using her powers on people who are having a personal fight and then her getting in trouble because she revealed the private wish of someone to everyone around them.
Imagine Kim and Max training alone by Ladybug's order, and Max making portals so Kim can improve his time to get certain objects from different places, and that resulting in people being pissed at the heros breaking and entering their private homes and taking their stuff however they please as "training"
Look, I don't wanna be mean but I give her a god damn WEEK before she starts giving teammates (100% Kim for example) Chat Noir's rag doll treatment and starting to yell and get angry again bc they're doing something she personally doesn't like at an inconvenient time, or something she gets in trouble for as their leader.
Before this the temp heros has the luxury of only having been ask to do exactly what Ladybug said as her minions and power vessels, but now that they are individuals?
Good gosh, it's gonna be a disaster. Cerise is gonna have the time of her life using the team and city again her lol

The trust between Ladybug and Chat Noir is stretched to breaking point when a new butterfly holder emerges in the wake of Monarque's defeat. Chat Noir doesn't know who to trust until Chrysalis confronts him with a truth Ladybug had tried to bury: Monarque made the Wish—and she wants Chat Noir’s help to undo it.
excerpt
“I shouldn’t,” she said quietly, turning her face away. “Besides, I’m not really in a party mood… there’s still Guardian stuff to do.” He studied her gaze, fixed on something unseen in the distance. Though he’d long grown accustomed to the way his heart tugged harder toward her the further away she went, this time the pang ground deeper in his chest. “Right, of course,” Chat Noir said, turning away too. “You took Monarque down.” You and Gabriel Agreste, he couldn’t help thinking. “I’m sure you have a lot to talk to Nooroo about. And Su Han. And the team.”  What a talk that would be, when Chat Noir would receive the play-by-play alongside all the other Holders. There was no point being angry about it. Not when Gabriel was gone, when Ladybug wore her victory like a shroud, when there was still so much work to do. Chat Noir didn’t know how to be angry without destroying anything—and so much had already been destroyed.  “And you have to find a new Butterfly Holder too, right?”
so excited to do this collab with @ladyofthenoodle! this fic is gonna be amazing guys. don't let all the angst scare you away from the happy ending ;)

Tim: Alright. Worst destruction you managed. Go.

Jason: Eighty for me. Joker is on his own category. Wanna kill him but you know B.
Tim (nods along): Yeah. Me, twenty. Miracle team?
Queenbie: Okay, first off. It's Team Miraculous. And second, for me, it was controlling my own team. Yeah, I had my villianous moments. Never again.
Carapache: Became an akuma once. And well, there was that disaster when I thought my gf was dating CN over here.
Chat: Uhm... can't remember. I don't keep a list of what I cataclysm. I mean, what's the worst LB? Eiffel Tower?
LB (whispers sadly): The moon.

I'm scared lol
I feel like when season 6 of Miraculous comes out Marinette and Ariden are going to break up or are broken up. And no one knows the reason why until episode 5 or 10 and it's the DUMBEST REASON EVER! And then Lady Noir starts to get their friendship from the first couple of seasons back (before the team) and Ladybug makes more time for him. Either way, I'm just scared XD. It ended on a sorta happy note so it's about to be a whole anguish-depressing sobbing fans parade. And I don't know if any of us are ready for that. I mean I WANT season 6 to come out as soon as possible but I'm HAPPY. I'm happy that THEY ARE FINALLY TOGETHER! But I WANT TO CRY AND SOB AND SCREAM AT MY TV SHOUTING OUT WHY! I WANT to be angry and sad at the same time. Then read comfort fanfics where the moment never happened and be in denial. Anyone else relate?

Adrien: And the scenario is, Kagami eating a marshmallow for the first time. Begin.
Alya: What is this glutinous monstrosity before me?
Marinette: The sugar in this is quite sweet.
Nino: Mmmmm!!!
Adrien: That's your Kagami impression?
Nino: I can see her doing that.
Adrien: I don't care for it. Manga reference.
Kagami: What are you all doing?
Marinette: Eating marshmallows. Want one?
Kagami: OK. *bites one* Mmmmm!!!
Nino: Knew it!

Akuma Ideas
Basically fanfic prompts from someone who doesn’t have the time and energy to write fan fiction herself, I guess.
Real talk, though, if you need help coming up with a villain for your fic, message me!
Securator
After an attempted break-in at the Louvre stresses him out, Alim Kubdel is akumatized into Securator, a villain whose power is bringing artwork and artifacts to life. He brings some of the Louvre’s most famous pieces to life to patrol each wing of the museum and catch any intruders while he hides in the heart of the museum with the akumatized object, a piece which was the target of the break-in.
His appearance should be reminiscent of Louvre artwork, like maybe a living Greek statue or heavily stylized oil painting version of himself dressed like a Renaissance man. If not for Jalil, I would’ve gone with Ancient Egyptian art since he studies it, but that’s The Pharaoh’s thing.
Ladybug and friends have to break in themselves and split up to take down each “guard” using strategies unique to each piece of art. I feel like making the Mona Lisa laugh is the overused, corny cliche, but they could cheer her up to make her less grumpy/more agreeable and let them pass. Other examples: using “eye for an eye” logic to defeat Hammurabi’s code, convincing Liberty Leading the People that they should rebel against the Securator’s control, and pitting Winged Victory against another guard because the goddess of victory always wins.
Red Baroness
You know that pattern of people’s moms getting akumatized with different modes of transportation? (Befana: motorcycle, Captain Hardrock: boat, Ikari Gozen: car, Startrain: train) well we’re missing airplane mom and I think that needs to be fixed. Whose mom? Why was she akumatized? What’s her power? Doesn’t matter. Airplane mom.
Concept: she’s a commercial airline pilot, so she spends a lot of time away from her family. This makes her upset when she comes back to Paris, so Hawkmoth takes advantage and akumatizes her. The akuma flies around in a WW1 style fighter plane that drops the PG version of bombs.
She wears the typical bomber jacket, goggles, and cap, maybe a scarf too. I think it’d be fun if she had red skin and horns like a devil, making her a red baroness, but idk if they’d be able to do something like that. On one hand, it’s a current religious symbol, but on the other it’s an iconic mythological creature and a lot of akumas are mythological references.
The Jade Emperor
(I wrote this before the s4 finale, but as of right now it could still apply to a post s5 scenario)
Su Han feels like Ladybug hasn’t been careful/strict/thoughtful enough about the distribution of the zodiac miraculous, but Ladybug insists everyone on her team is the right choice. He worries that her quick decision making is a sign of poor guardianship, and that she might be giving miraculous to people who aren’t superhero material just because they’re her friends. Hawkmoth catches him by surprise with an akuma before he can repel it, akumatizing him into the Jade Emperor.
He’s a bit bigger than Su Han and looks like him, but he’s wearing ancient Chinese emperor clothes that are mostly jade.
The Jade Emperor makes a deal with Ladybug. She will hand out the whole zodiac at once, and he will craft a city-wide obstacle course by creating minor villains and making all the bridges disappear. The villains aren’t akumas or sentis, but henchmen that come with the akuma such as Chrismaster’s. The heroes have to defeat them all and cross the Seine to reach him within a certain time limit. The deal is that if they make it, they have proved themselves, but if they don’t, the Jade Emperor will take their miraculous. Ladybug figures she can’t defeat him by fighting because he’s so skilled, and trusts that they’ll all make it, so she agrees. Hawkmoth hopes they won’t, in which case Ladybug will be short on teammates. Cue a re-enactment of the Great Race myth.
Detailed outline: Mylene and Ivan start together, but run into a villain who takes them by surprise. Chat Noir jumps in and sacrifices himself so that both of them can make it since they need to pass the race while The Jade Emperor is already fine with Chat. They defeat the villain, and Ivan crosses the river with one mini mouse hitching a ride on his ear. Juleka comes next on her own, taking down another villain on the way. Kagami is moving fast on her own, taking a detour to stop a villain. When she crosses the river, she notices Alix struggling, so she turns into wind dragon to lift her out by the umbrella. Max realizes he can’t teleport straight to the finish line because of a magical boundary set by The Jade Emperor, but he can move side to side and backwards. He opens a portal and backtracks to save Luka from trouble, then they both run on and cross the river. Kim asks Marc and Nath to join him. Nath makes a boat/raft for all three of them, and Kim uses uproar on the villain after which Marc kills it. They cross the finish line. Rose decides to take it easy, and Sabrina joins her. They make sure nobody overlooked any villains, and Sabrina finds a sneaky one, using fetch on it. Even though it moves like a ninja, fetch carries it right back to the girls. They defeat it and cross the river right before the timer runs out. The Jade Emperor is satisfied by the competence of the team, so he gives Ladybug his akumatized object, his staff, and tells her that she made good choices after all.
Kafoolu
The kids get into a heated prank war on Poisson d’avril (April Fool’s Day). At first, everything’s fine, and everyone is carrying out their own evil mastermind plans on each other, but at some point they take it too far. The fisherman (unique background character model who appeared in Simpleman) is minding his own business catching fish in the river, but the kids have moved their practical jokes outside. By accident, the fisherman gets caught in the crossfire. Maybe the fish he already caught get knocked back into the Seine? He gets upset, so Hawkmoth sends an akuma into his hat.
He turns into Kafoolu, a sea monster-like villain who’s dressed like a jester. He wields a giant floppy fish in each hand that he uses as weapons. Chat Noir jokes that something about him smells fishy. His powers involve setting up classic prank traps to trip up the heroes.
Savant Méchant
(I don’t speak French so correct me if I’m wrong but I believe savant is a masculine noun so for that reason the corresponding adjective is also masculine even though the actual person is female?)
AJT du Bocquale tries to have her research be taken seriously by the people of Paris as well as fellow scientists, but they ignore her and think she’s joking because her studies are too ambitious, plus she’s not even an adult yet. AJT feels like her work is pointless if no one cares about it, so Hawkmoth targets her. The akuma lands in the flower in her hair, which turns into a little satellite dish.
She looks like a stereotypical mad scientist, even more so than usual. Her gloves become comically large rubber gloves like Yzma and Kronk’s, her glasses become goggles, her hair is very messy with a white streak in it, and her eyes become spirals. I’m thinking her lab coat looks kind of like a trench coat, but also has straps hanging off of it like an undone straight jacket.
Her power is building machines that do ridiculous things. Think Dr. Doof’s -inators. So she can counter LB and CN’s advances as long as she has enough time to build a machine to foil their plan or can creatively use one she already made.
Akuma ideas I don’t have a super solid concepts for:
More minor characters who haven’t been akumatized yet:
Fire Captain Hessenpy becomes a cowboy-themed villain
Mr. Montalain is the only adult at school who hasn’t been akumatized. What would it take to break that man? Maybe he could be a villain who forces people to be super kind and polite to each other no matter what. It’d be like a cross between Zombizou and Simpleman. Marinette and Chloe get into an argument, but as much as they want to curse each other out, all that physically comes out of their mouths is (angry tone), “good job getting an A on the physics test. I thought it was pretty hard, so I’m impressed” “thanks. By the way, I love the way you did your eyeshadow this morning”.
Prince Ali is bored of rich people diplomacy stuff, but his chauffeur says he has to carry out his whole schedule of lame performative events. He’s akumatized into a gentleman thief type villain who runs around causing mischief while actually helping people. Ladybug and Chat Noir still have to stop him because he’s willing to snatch their miraculous. Maybe he starts out doing genuinely good things, but then his “help” is unwanted favors that people didn’t ask for.
Alternatively, he runs off to hang out with Rose and friends because he wants to experience Paris like a normal teen, but his chauffeur panics when he’s gone. She gets akumatized into an overprotective villain.
XY gets akumatized because his father is constantly overstepping his boundaries. We, along with the characters, finally get to know him a bit better and see a sympathetic side to him as he doesn’t really agree with a lot of his father’s actions. Or maybe he just gets akumatized over something bratty.
More episodes where defeating the akuma requires winning a game or solving a puzzle instead of fighting:
Whodunit/murder mystery spoof where solving the case beats the villain. This would be fun as a “locked room” mystery on the Startrain. Maybe the akuma is a theft victim who won’t give up until the kids bring them the culprit or the stolen item. In standard cartoon fashion, the solution is probably that everything was a domino effect of accidents that lead to a big misunderstanding, and it wasn’t actually anybody’s fault.
Heist movie spoof where they have to steal the akuma object from a high security hiding place (Moolak dedicated episode?)
Escape room villain
Casino or card game-themed villain. It’d be fun if they beat this one by cleverly cheating at the games because otherwise “the house always wins”.
Villain with an awesome chess aesthetic (name idea: Grandmaster)
or one that turns the city into a giant board game Jumanji style
tabletop RPG villain called Dungeonmaster who got akumatized because someone called their hobby lame, so they create bosses the heroes have to defeat using a turn-based system. I just reminded myself of that one Gravity Falls DND episode.
Courtroom villain where the heroes have to act as a legal team and win the case. The akuma could be either a corrupt defense attorney trying to clear the name of a bad civilian (e.g. akuma Amelie protecting normal Felix), or it could be a prosecutor who was akumatized because of the civilian who wants to sentence them, the defendant, to a cartoony, exaggerated punishment for their crimes (e.g. standard Chloe grudge). The judge could be a sentimonster called Your Honor who is made to be objective. If the akuma is the judge, then team LB and team HM could be on opposite benches trying to convince the akuma, who is one of those more independent types, which side to play for.
More villains about French or Parisian culture:
My Poisson d’Avril idea fits under this
Pierrot themed villain
Cabaret villain
Villain in the catacombs. This would be perfect for a potential Halloween special.
On one hand, it could be a coward who got akumatized through fear whose power involves scaring others (like Horrificator and Sandboy). This villain would lurk in the tourist-accessible part with the walls of skulls.
Alternatively, and I don’t think canon could ever do something like this for legal reasons, a cataphile gets akumatized after getting in trouble for trying to illegally explore the catacombs. They turn into some cryptid cave monster and slither in the dank, dark ruins.
Miscellaneous
Someone’s pet is sad that their owner has to leave for work every day, so they get turned into the first animal akuma. The villain is a big beast, for example a dog turning into Cerberus. It’d be cute if it was Fang becoming a dragon-like monster independent of Guitar Villain.
The body swap akuma that is the subject of oh so many fan works. The most common version of this is that LB and CN switch bodies, which is great, but I raise you a completely random rotation of the entire group. I think this would work best post reveal. Imagine Adrien ending up in Chloe’s body, and Marinette has to constantly remind herself that she’s talking to her beloved bf and not her detested enemy. Imagine Kim in Juleka’s body being uncannily silly and talkative or Rose in Ivan’s body going tee hee and accidentally smashing stuff. Give me someone finding out they have an invisible disability from swapping bodies with someone who doesn’t. Imagine people having to quickly adapt to using miraculouses they’ve never used before because everyone going back to get “theirs” would be too risky, and their fighting style or strategy is noticeably different from the usual holder. I could see this as a power for the Montalain akuma I mentioned earlier because the message could be like “if you try walking in each other’s shoes for a day maybe you’ll all get along better”

Lady Mariposa AU: Marinette x Miraculous Team in "Be Honest, Who's The Coolest Champion You Made?"
Marinette smiled at the question, laughing a little as she brought up Frozer, from the time that she had to bring the ice skating instructor Philippe in to a Champion while the rest were out of commission.
The chaos compels.

excerpt:
“Personally, I try to be like a proton,” Chat Noir said, dropping down from the rafters to land in front of Ladybug. “You know, stay positive?” Ladybug’s already-pounding heart leapt high in her chest. “Chaton!” she cried, stepping toward him. “You came!”  He angled his head back, sending her a small smile over his shoulder. The weight in the pit of Ladybug’s stomach lessened at the sight. Maybe he would finally give her the chance to clear the air. “We were in the area,” Chat Noir said, glancing at something above. “Came to make sure you weren’t all out of your element.” Ryuuko dropped down next, giving Chat Noir a look of mild unamusement, then went to stand beside Argos.  “Listen,” Ladybug said lowly, dragging her attention back to her partner. It’d only been a week since she’d seen him, but it felt like so much longer. “About the other night—” “Don’t worry,” Chat said quickly, retracting his baton and stepping back. He slung one arm each around Carapace and Argos’s shoulders, odd familiarity warming his gaze. “With the whole team here, there won’t be any more close calls. Not like last time.”
part 5 of mine and @ladyofthenoodle's collab is up!
