So, we stopped for lunch and were interfered with:

This young lady stopped at our table, goo-goo'd at Lyra and asked us how old she was.

"She'll be a month old on the fourth next month." Eli is smiling at Lyra, so proud of her for no reason at all as she's simply sitting and existing.

"So new, you really shouldn't have her out already."

He looks up at this girl so slowly it feels like he's taken days to raise his head. He's nudged his glasses down just slightly and is looking at her over them...pure disappointed dad behavior. You would rather he just yell at you, to be honest. This isn't gonna be very nice.

"Oh, how many kids do you have?" His tone is deadly smooth and even, and he's also folded his arms and sat back in his chair, and she looks afraid to answer him.

"Uh...none yet."

"Well, as it happens, that's how much care I have about your opinion. To clarify, none."

I'm watching her with just a lot of barely concealed excitement, because I really love it when people finally are called out on not minding their own fucking business. She wipes her hands on her jeans.

"I was just saying, because..."

"Better to not just say, don't you think?"

She blinks. "Yes sir, probably."

He keeps her on the hook for just a moment longer before smiling at her. "Good, now you know for next time."

You could call me a true Portlandian. I enjoy spending my free time out being active, finding the best gluten free restaurants, and doing samplings at local breweries. Although this city is filled with the best food, brews, and scenery (in my opinion), one of my favorite attributes that Portland has is its close proximity to other great places in Oregon and Washington. I love to be able to take a little weekend getaway, so when a sorority sister of mine recently bought a house in Seattle and invited me to her house warming party, I knew I wanted to make that weekend trip up north. As I go on these weekend trips often, I couldn’t help but notice a common theme when I am planning: saving money. "What have you not done in a long time that you used to do a lot and miss it?"

One of the reasons I like Moses so much, aside from loving the shit out of him and reallyyyy liking to smooch him, is because he asks me stuff like this all the time. Sometimes it's silly, like when he asked me what kind of alien I'd be...but today his question is tailored to fit some serious yuck I've been having in my brain this week.

"It's so stupid..."

"I already love it. Being stupid is my favorite."

I look over at him and he is legitimately already excited.

"After really bad days at work I'd ride around with my windows down, blasting music and rapping until I felt like going home."

He doesn't laugh like I think he will. "Pass me the aux, I got you. White girls like Post Malone still right?"

So we drove around, windows open, summer wind slapping us in the face...hair whipping every damn where, and only stopped when we got hungry and had to pee.

Stopped at a parked taco truck across the highway from the entrance to the lake, he takes his shirt off for me to sit on despite me protesting. It's very silly, considering our relationship, but I've got such a crush on him that seeing him shirtless still makes me blush and giggle sometimes.

"Your shorts are sooooo short, Bunny, you'll get sand in your vagene. Don't do that to her, that ain't right."

"We could sit in the car..."

"No, you need sunshine and to stretch that old lady hip. Besides, decent looking Native guy with tattoos and no shirt on? Might find us a fourth today."

He gives a few girls and one guy an "a'ho" and they all stop to chat and vigorously check out his ink but he's pretty non-committal...still extremely charming though.

"Not feeling it?"

"Nah...I kinda got something going on already."

"Yeah? Tell me all about it."

He smiles, and leans closer.

"There's this big white nerd that reads all the time and wears glasses. Kind of like him...and his wife, she's a pretty good rapper and even though she's got sand in her snatch I'm into it."

Swear to god if I could be married to both of them...

I am going to be conducting a mini event! Here are the details:

Basics:

This is an ‘Ask Sun and Moon Show’ event! This specific one is called: “Ask Sun and Moon Show on a Road Trip!” On this event, you can as Sun, Moon, Lunar, and Eclipse questions about themselves, their lives, why they’re on a road trip, how they got their car, etc. etc. This event will go for about a month, however if it isn’t doing great, I’ll end it early.

Rules of the Event:

#1: Nothing inappropriate! Only good questions with no sexual asks.

#2: You may request to hug or boop or give something to any of the four, as long as it’s appropriate.

#3: You may request switch outs for driving, as long as the rest of the group approves of it.

#4: And fourth and final, do not rush me, pls! I have lots of schoolwork to do, but I rly wanna do this!

geographic problem

i need rocks for a christmas gift, ideally naturally occurring and i find them myself

HOWEVER

i live on a sediment based land structure, and i would have to drive at least an hour to find good rocks or shells 😔
