mingyu x wine → a romantic getaway fantasy for @sangyus
~~~
It was the ease in how he said it; the nonchalance - the neutrality. It was the calm in how he said "Okay" when you had asked that really got you. Not that you really knew it at the time.
"Mingyu.." You had beckoned, drawing out his name in sing-song notes as you laid upon his chest; the hum of his response tickling your cheek.
"Take me to Paris." Merely a throw-away comment, but drowning in wanderlust.
"Paris?" He queried, his fingers meandering gently through your hair.
"Or Amsterdam. Or Barcelona." Mingyu shifted, turning his body to angle you towards him so he could see you. "Anywhere we can sit on a balcony of a two-hundred-year-old building on a thousand-year-old street and drink wine by candlelight."
"Oh yeh?" He said as he wound his arms tighter around your waist.
"Yeh, it'd be so nice. So you'll take me, yeh?" Punctuating your statement with a giggle that Mingyu knew was emptier than you had intended, he read narrow smile and saw the genuine desire for this throw-away comment of a vacation.
"Okay." Mingyu replied, as he kissed the top of your head and let you sink into fantasy and said no more. And you thought nothing more of it.
Until Mingyu held two plane tickets out in front of you and said to take time off work. We leave in three weeks, he said. Five days in Barcelona, he said. Yes, I'm serious, he insisted and held you as you squealed in excitement.
You wondered on the flight over how many museums you could squeeze in, how many historic sites you could visit and how many things you could experience in the fleeting days you'd have.
But as you sat across Mingyu, on that balcony of a two-hundred-year-old building on a thousand-year-old street sipping on wine by candlelight, you realised none of the other stuff mattered. Because all you really wanted was that very moment. With him.
minghao + golden hour, having tea and reading together ↳ for @cherryredscoups
~~~
Amber streaks of sunlight split across the last two pages of the book Minghao was immersed in. His hands cupped the covers as his eyes trailed along the last few words, only to close the book quietly once the final one was spoken in his mind. Looking up, he found your eyes, not on the page laid open before you, but staring out the window beside you; longing almost for something beyond it.
"Hey...?" He beckoned in a whisper, scared to startle you. Yet, he insisted. "Are you... Is everything okay?"
Minghao reached forward, grazing the tops of your knuckles with his fingertips. And with his touch, your mind sprinted back to where you were sitting; swiftly remembering where you really were.
"Yeh.." You shook your head, flicking the loose strands of hair off your face and the mist of daydreams away. "Just got a little a lost."
Minghao giggled, small and sweet as he curled his hand around yours to rub circles in your palm with his thumb.
"In your book or out there?" He gestured to the sprawling city that unfolded and unrolled outside the cafe.
"A bit of both, I guess." You replied with a smile just as sweet and weaved your fingers between his.
You saw a spark in Minghao's eyes and didn't protest when he stood from the table, guiding you to follow with a soft tug of your hand. Gathering your things, Minghao led you to the door and took in a long breath of the dusk air. He turned and met you gaze, enraptured and intrigued. And he smiled as if everything he ever wanted was in front of him.
"Well let's go, let's get a little lost. You and me."

soonyoung x trying for love → a friends to lovers imagine for @nyoungsan
~~~
Soonyoung never missed a day; not once since he discovered you not only lived nearby, but worked in the building next to his. There wasn't a single day that Soonyoung wasn't waiting to walk home with you. With that same playful stare and gentle smile, Soonyoung would greet you every night with a knock of his shoulder against yours and take up stride beside you. Like he had always done before.
You were once called inseparable. From elementary days to the fervour of adolescence, it was not uncommon to be seen sauntering through high-school hallways side by side, laughing at some inside joke or communicating through glances alone; two peas in a pod they called you, birds of a feather, soulmates, even - you and Soonyoung.
Then college, continents and the passage of years separated you. And somehow, and not for the want of trying, you lost touch; Soonyoung quietly missed you, and wondered if you still thought of him from time to time.
So the day you rounded the street corner of the new city you had just made home, crinkly bag of snacks in hand and crashed into the chest of someone who smelt oddly familiar, you willingly drowned in the nostalgia that swelled in you when you recognised the smile that beamed at the sight of your long-missed face.
It had been a few months since that chance meeting and the serendipity of finding your long lost friend again still hadn't faded for either of you. And despite protest, Soonyoung still insisted on walking home with you. You never really meant the protest anyway.
You really don't have to, you insisted. You work next door and you live a block away, he returned. It's not like I'm going to disappear, you joked. It wouldn't be the first time, he sulked. Which you quickly shut down with an elbow into his arm.
"Think of it as making up for lost time." Soonyoung said with a smile but with a tinge of regret in his voice. And as he slowed to turn to you, you marvelled as the moon lined up perfectly behind him; framing him in silver light. "And on the topic of making up for lost time, will you have dinner with me?"
The giggle that bubbled up quickly faded when Soonyoung's eyes held your gaze with an intensity you had never seen before. Swallowing down the sudden tension in the air, you responded, as you always had to his invitations, albeit with an air of confusion.
"Sure... dinner, yeh. Let's go."
But Soonyoung didn't match your stride, making you turn back; suddenly compelled to match his stare which only shook when he took a step forward; closing the gap between your bodies.
"No." His voice wavered. "Will you have dinner..." He held out his hand, tender and open and took in a steadying breath, " ... With me?"
And if his words didn't say it, his eyes did; filled with longing. Yearning. Pining.
Your eyes flickered from his stare and his open hand held between you and suddenly, as if every piece has finally fallen into place, you saw it. You saw his heart that he had been holding onto for years, and holding onto for you. Filled with love that only you could match. Birds of a feather.
You felt your own heart pound inside your chest, as if it wanted to leap out and have you give it to him.
So you did. With your hand resting in the warmth of his and feeling like they were moulded to fit against one another, you gave him the heart you didn't know you had been holding onto for years, and holding onto for him. Soulmates.
You didn't have to say much more, he already knew; his lips resting a sweet smile upon your forehead.
"So, where would you like to go?" Soonyoung whispered against your skin, holding tightly onto the hand he would never let go.
"Anywhere." Weaving your fingers between his, and breathing in that familiar scent that you now knew was love. "With you, I'd go anywhere."
