Can I just say as someone who has been playing Minecraft almost longer than I have not been playing Minecraft, the cave update is absolutely petrifying. I haven't played with keep inventory on since 1.6 and here I am, screaming at every sound like I'm 12 again. I added dynamic sounds, animations, and shaders as well so it's even more freaky 😭

Minecraft feels like it doesn’t know what to do for big updates any more so they’re doing like small miscellaneous updates collected together. I wish they’d move on from trying to give them a theme bc I feel like that’s just confusing.
One thing I wish they’d do is do updates from time to time and go back and add pieces to old update. Like maybe add more fish or tree types.
Specifically what made me have this thought is that I’d love if they’d add more to the geodes. Like the amethysts are lovely but I’d love if there was a whole range of crystals to find in geodes!! I feel like that’s along the line of the archaeological stuff they’ve done recently! Digging into the earth for history and stuff!
Also if they ever do a forest update I’d freak out. I’d love if they revamped their nature bc I feel like that part of the over world specifically has been the same since the beginning era of minecraft. Like ocean, nether, caves, villages, NOW FOREST. And end.
Feels like natural progression of their universe growing! And I like feeling like the updates can have a “story” like aspect to me. Especially bc worldbuilding. Favorite idea when it comes to minecraft lore

For the soundtrack of the Minecraft: Nether, Caves & Clifts and Wild Updates, Mojang employed trans woman Lena Raine. She most notably created Pigstep and Otherside. Rain is also notable for being the creator of the soundtrack of Celeste, Guild Wars, and Chicory: A Colourful Tale.

Next year they’re going to have a mob vote on which mob to retire from the game. My source says it’ll probably be between creepers, phantoms, and glow squid. /j

I've seen you around and I've been wondering
Do you play Minecraft Killer?
-Beep
Yes I do, I only play on PS4 tho, and I don’t play super often. But I play it when I feel I should.
Minecraft is fun and all, but the new updates are making it a little confusing to me

Honestly I think the Archeology feature not being included in 1.19 was probably a result of trying to split Caves & Cliffs into three updates, as there were probably less developers working on it due to trying to get things like the Deep Dark finished.
Edit: OH AND ALSO removing fireflies would have also impacted the devs' workload (assuming they were ever actually programmed in and weren't scrapped before then), since they'd have to remove any references to them in the code to prevent errors.

Love how the minecraft update everyone begged for for years is the one that completely wrecked my game style. Cant do shit underground now without running into a cave the size of texas. Hell cant build much above ground without covering up all the massive holes. Half the mountains are hollow. Want to light up the cave and make it safe? It's too big!
It's so frustrating, because I actually do love so much of it. The lush caves, dripstone, geodes, even the deep dark. I just wish the absolutely massive open caverns spawned less. Give me smaller caverns with long tunnels. Caves where you can section them out and light them up enough to be safe.
I dont even want them to get rid of the massive caves, maybe just give us an option in world gen for them to spawn less?

read the vgc article on all the cyberpunk base game changes that are coming with phantom liberty and tbh i'm a little nervous about how drastically it's claiming that the game is gonna change. i like how the game functions now, and there's a lot of room to fuck up my favorite game with how much they're claiming to have overhauled, with "practically nothing being left untouched"
