Been copying and pasting my 140 notes with fic ideas from my old phone to my new phone and realized I had so many unhinged ideas that I’ll probably never write (never say never) but somebody should lol
So here’s some ideas from my sleep deprived brain over the years:
Hannigram Killing Stalking AU
Mindhunter crew interviewing Hannibal in prison.
Will Graham being nominated by Queer Eye by Alana.
Hannibal being the millionaire from Indecent Proposal propositioning Will to sleep with him for money but the twist is that they actually stay together in the end.
Hannibal and Alana are married and Will and Margot are married, after years of a loveless marriage or a convenient one they decide to swing and exchange partners for the night.
And honestly there’s much more from where that came from.

Maybe in another life kisses - Holden Ford/Bill Tench
How is this the longest of my fills so far? Repressed men are ridiculous. This is unedited, but I hope you enjoy it!
This is post S2 because of delicious angst. <3
~*~
Bill tossed back his scotch and wiped his mouth against his forearm, turning his attention to the left where the TV was playing the news, the sound lost beneath the bustling of the bar. Going home would be the smart thing, but he couldn't stomach going home to an empty house. He was too drunk— his loneliness would be unbearable. Hell, there were people at the bar and the solitude was still crushing him.
"Hey," he said, waving his hand to get the bartender's attention. "Pay phone. Where's it?" The bartender pointed back toward the bathrooms, and Bill slapped down a ten on the bar before he staggered to his feet. No one was using the phone, and Bill allowed a quiet gratitude to filter through him as he dialed a number.
"Holden Ford. How can I help you?" Bill smirked at the distracted tone of Holden's voice; he was probably working on another case. He'd been itchy since Atlanta, not that Bill could blame him.
"It's me," he said. "I wanted to know if I could crash at your place tonight. I've been drinking."
"Bill?" Holden's attention seemed to sharpen. "Are you okay? Do you need me to pick you up?"
"Nah, just wanted to know if you were out. I can get a cab."
"Bill, yeah. Of course you can come to my place."
"Okay." Bill closed his eyes against the dim, pulsing lights of the bar. "I'll be there later." He ended the call without bothering to say goodbye and then looked at the small community corkboard for the taxi services that were always advertised in the local dives.
Once he made his call, Bill made his way out of the bar, taking a deep breath of the cool night air. He was a god-damned idiot. He should've just found a new job and moved like Nancy had so desperately wanted. The problem was the work was so damned important— the most important thing he'd done so far, maybe the most important thing he would ever do, and it was so hard to balance with the needs of the people around him who couldn't understand.
The taxi pulled up, and Bill gave the cabbie Holden's address, cracking the window and resting his head against the glass so he could enjoy the breeze. Fortunately the driver seemed to pick up on his mood and didn't offer any chit-chat; Bill tipped him extra for that.
Holden was waiting outside his apartment building, arms folded against his chest, and the tense expression on his face relaxed when Bill walked up to him. "Glad to see you're in one piece."
"Keeping the light on for me, buddy?" Bill had sobered up a little during the drive, but he was still way past tipsy, and he accepted the shoulder Holden offered as they walked through the door together.
"You know it." Holden guided Bill through the hall to the elevator, supporting Bill's weight. "Anything you want to talk about?"
"Nope." Bill leaned against the back wall of the elevator and closed his eyes again.
Holden made a brief, assenting noise, a sound that Bill had grown familiar with through hours of interviews. "Anything you need to talk about?"
"Don't give me your bullshit." Bill reached out and punched Holden lightly on the shoulder. Holden made one of those affirmative noises again, and for the first time Bill wondered if he'd made the right decision. Holden understood vulnerability in a way that not many did, knew how to twist it, how to make it work for him, and Bill couldn't help but wonder what sort of crazy connections were going on in Holden's head now. If Bill was giving Holden something he could use against him.
They made it safely to Holden's apartment, and Bill sighed as he shrugged off his suit jacket and draped it over one the coat rack before he settled on the sofa, laying his head back and resting his forearm over his eyes. He listened to the sounds of life and movement around him— Holden opening and shutting a cabinet, the run of the faucet. He wasn't surprised when Holden brought him a glass of water, but he held it between his palms instead of drinking it.
"You ever think," Bill asked quietly, "that doing the work we do isn't worth it?"
"No," Holden said immediately. "I think what we're doing is incredible. We save lives. We try to find closure for grieving families. Making a sacrifice is worth it."
Bill's mouth twisted in a pained smile, and he looked up, surprised to see Holden standing so close to him. "Nancy and Brian left the house.Didn't leave me a note. Didn't…" he shrugged, unable to find a way to continue that sentence.
Holden sat on the coffee table in front of Bill, close enough that their knees were touching. "I'm sorry to hear that."
"I couldn't go home to an empty house," Bill confessed.
Holden smiled. "You could move in with me."
Bill snorted a laugh and shook his head. "We're a sorry pair of assholes, aren't we? Can't even hold down relationships like normal people anymore."
Holden was quiet for a long time before he spoke again. "Most people  don't see the things we do. They can't understand why it's important, why we can't turn away and let someone else do it instead. To be honest, if it weren't for you and Wendy, I'd probably go nuts."
"Yeah. Someone's gotta keep your head screwed on straight." Bill reached out and patted Holden's knee, already bridging most of the space between them before he realized what he was doing. "Sorry."
Holden shook his head, clenching his hands around the edge of the coffee table to keep them still. "It's normal, I think. You know, when Debbie and I broke up, I… thought about you. You're so confident and solid, and I thought— if I could be more like Bill, maybe people wouldn't see me as a freak."
Bill stared at Holden, backlit by the kitchen lights. His face was unreadable. "We're all freaks," he said. "I'm just better at hiding it."
"Thanks." Holden's tone made it clear he didn't believe what Bill said, and he stood, forcing Bill to crane his head back if he wanted to keep looking. "Forget about tonight, just drink your water. The guest room's open."
Bill drank his water, and Holden vanished into the kitchen with the empty glass. That strange, bubbling loneliness was trying to make itself known again so he followed Holden, watching him wash the glass and put it back in the cupboard. "You said to forget about tonight? Why?"
Holden shrugged, still turned away from Bill. "We're having a conversation about shitty things at two in the morning on a Friday night. Nothing good ever comes of those."
Bill reached out for Holden's arm, silently urging him to turn around. Relief lit through him when Holden didn't jerk away. "If you're giving me a 'get out of jail free' card, figure I should do something to deserve it."
Holden frowned, tilting his head up just a little to look at Bill; Bill had never been happier about their two inch difference in height. "What are you talking about?"
Bill shook his head. "You talk too much." He leaned in, letting the heat of Holden's body warm him, and then paused. When was the last time he and Nancy slept close enough to feel those small markers of intimacy? He couldn't even remember.
"Bill?" Holden's voice was rough, panicky, and he grabbed onto Bill's arms like he was desperate for a lifeline, and Bill pressed forward, closing the last gap between them.
Bill had thought about kissing Holden a couple of times, if he was going to be honest with himself. When he was bratty, when he put himself in danger, there was always a weird thought in the back of his head that if they kissed, he'd probably like it. It was just a thought. He'd always had Nancy.
Now though, in Holden's dimly lit kitchen, Bill pretended. What would it be like to work with this weird, smart man and then come home with him at night? Maybe they'd switch off on who made dinner. With their salaries combined, they could share a house with a deck, and spend an evening with steaks on the grill when there was nice weather. He'd convince Holden that golf was a respectable sport. And at the end of each day, they could kiss just like this, lingering together after the chores were done.
Holden's bottom lip quivered against Bill's, and Bill curled his hand around the nape of Holden's neck, keeping him in place. There wasn't a place for 'what if?' in real life, so Bill poured every bit of softness and possibility between them.
Holden made a sound as if he'd been punched, and the tight grip he had on Bill's forearms changed, his hands clinging to Bill's shoulders instead. For a second, Holden kissed Bill harder— and then he turned his face away, flushed and shaking as he leaned against the sink. "That's not fair."
"No," Bill agreed. "It's not." Bill let Holden go and walked away, focusing on each step until he made it to the guest room and shut the door.
Then he locked it. Not for his sake, but for Holden's.

pls if you do write for Wendy know you'll win every ounce of love I have to give I'm dying out here
I mean, since you asked so nicely <3
Creased Shirts

Pairing: Dr Wendy Carr x (f)!reader
WC: ~1000
Warnings/TWs: Implied sex, (f)!reader because she's very obviously a lesbian BUT I haven't used any gendered language for reader. One night stand-ish.
Notes: Super quick little thing. I've been feeling kind of off with my writing lately, so apologies for that. Not proofread or edited.
Summary: You wake alone after a night together with the most put together lesbian you've ever met.
Tumblr media
It’s still dark when you open your eyes.
The warm body besides you, the one you fell asleep next to, is gone. Your fingers search for it, tap the sheets until you reach the edge of the bed, and pull your hand back to your side.
Not only is it dark, but it’s freezing. It must be what woke you, because even underneath the covers and a soft, plaid blanket, you’re shivering.
The idea that the owner of the apartment must’ve draped a blanket over you before she opened the window to keep you warm… your insides suddenly feel very funny.
Doctor Wendy Carr.
You met last night. It was warm, then. Hot, even. Your top stuck to your back the way clothes always do when summer nights are too warm and humid. The radio had been blaring out Bee Gees and Queen and your hips had been swaying in time to the beat. The man you danced with was an old army vet that had seen both Vietnam and central Europe and was old enough to be your father.
He came every Friday evening like clockwork. Sometimes he sat in the bar with a cold one, head together with the younger vets. Other times, when his hip didn’t hurt too bad, he joined you on the floor. He always kept his hands at a respectful distance from your bottom and only ever flirted the way queer men do.
When he needed to sit down (goddamn this hip, sweets), you sat down next to her. She didn’t necessarily look out of place, every sort came through here, but her shoulders were square and the way she stirred her cocktail was almost jerky. She had discarded her suit jacket, but the white button up underneath was still neatly pressed and her ankles were crossed.
Like a lady, you heard your grandma say, somewhere in the back of your head, and your lips tugged up in a half smile.
“You come here a lot?”
Her head snapped up and your eyes met for a moment, and some of the tension seemed to leave her.
“No”, she admitted. Then: “But you do.”
It wasn’t a question.
-
Three hours later, she tugged the covers over you. The sheets were damp with sweat and the room smelled like need, like sex, like love. You had fallen asleep before she returned from the shower.
You find a discarded shirt and tug it on, and find her standing by an open window in the living room.
Wendy only wears the same shirt she had earlier tonight. It’s creased, unlike earlier, and only two of the buttons have been closed. She leans heavily against her right leg, and it almost feels lazy when she sucks in a deep breath of the cigarette.
Your cigarettes.
“I thought you didn’t smoke”, you say and come to stand next to her. There’s only a moment’s hesitation before you wind an arm around her middle and press your chest to her back, top of your nose finding the crook of her neck. Her hair is still wet and the scent of her perfume lingers, something sweet and heavy you can’t quite place. Her soap must be lavender.
“I don’t”, she replies, but you can hear the smile in her voice. She holds out the smoke for you to take a puff, then has another drag for herself.
“I can see that.”
Silence falls.
Her body feels like a personal heater, where you’re pressed to her. It’s only when you brush against her wet hair that you’re reminded of how cold it is, and both your arms and bare legs have prickled from the chill by the time she puts the cigarette out. She has placed a plate on the window sill, something that shifts in brown or yellow. It’s impossible to tell in the dark.
Despite the freezing night, she keeps the window open for a moment longer. The gentle murmur of a car can be heard in the distance, and voices come from the street below. You believe you can hear the chirp of an early bird, and her breathing is as soothing as a lullaby.
“I have never done this before”, she admits, finally. When the words leave her, it’s as if the remainders of tension from the bar does, as well, and she leans against your body.
You exhale and her hair tickles your nose.
“What? A woman?”
She laughs, and it’s one of those chuckling laughs that almost sound as if they hurt, as if it’s coming from the very pit of her stomach and forces its way out before she can even try to hinder it. It’s impossible not to smile, to feel her happiness in your very soul.
“No”, she replies, when she has managed to catch her breath again. “I’ve never brought someone home, for the night.”
Now, that is difficult to imagine. The way her soft lips felt against your skin, the way her fingers mapped out your  body, the way she found spots to massage you didn’t even know existed.
You move to press your lips to her throat, linger by her pulse to feel it against your lips.
“Doesn’t have to be for the night.”
She laughs again and twists around, until she can wrap both arms around your neck. You bury your face between her collarbones and suck in another breath of that perfume, until it leaves your head swimming with nothing but her.
“I have work!”
You reluctantly pull away to glance around the room, until you find what you’re looking for. The soft tick-tack had lulled you to sleep earlier.
4:26.
“Already?”
“Already”, she confirms. This time, she tears herself away from you and you straighten. When her eyes dip down to have a quick look at your lips, you don’t hesitate for a second.
She tastes of cold mint. Her lips are just as soft now as they were earlier. “If you stay”, she says, when she pulls away from the kiss and presses her forehead to yours. “Do me a favor and change the sheets. Shower. And brush your teeth.”

Post an out-of-context spoiler from a wip.
"Er-" Christopher looks puzzled. "He's really not in, sir." "When did he leave?" "Three… days ago, sir? Or, well, three nights ago." Bill stares. "And he hasn't come back?" "Well, no, sir." "Did he have a bag?" Christopher looks even more puzzled. "I wasn't on shift, sir. But I doubt it." "Why?" "Don't you-? Someone called an ambulance."
What’s your favorite part of the writing process (worldbuilding, brainstorming/outlining, writing, editing, etc)?
world-building, hands down. i can world-build forever
Does what you like to write differ from what you like to read?
somewhat... i like to write emotional and mental agony/catharsis but reading it is tricky. when it's someone else's writing, it can easily start to feel overblown or out of character
also i only read complete stories, a ha ha... 🙃

“Sim… Eu sei bem o que houve com ele", A mente de Albarn se perturbou quando soube que aquele menino estava gravemente ferido em seu jardim. Quem o matou naquela noite? Sempre se forçava a crer e identificar aquilo como um acidente.
— Capaz de ter sido raptado. — fingiu preocupação. Mastigava o biscoito rapidamente: — Aqui é a América.

what do i do?? i just finished the series for the first time and it’s spoiled me of any other media, but i don’t want to accidentally wear it out… do you have any shows i can watch or fics i can read that really scratch the same itch?
oh if you're mentally ill like the rest of us you will not wear it out believe me but anyway YESSS I *love* curating lists based off vibes so:
Other shows: Mindhunter, YellowJackets, Twin Peaks, Killing Eve, Interview With a Vampire, Chucky. Keep in mind nothing will ever compare but 🤷🏻‍♀️.
Movies: Saltburn, The Hunger, Possession, Phantom Thread, Phantom of the Opera, Only Lovers Left Alive, Blue Velvet, honestly Twilight lol.
Fics: the classic of the fandom is The Shape of You (I like the second part which can be read as a stand alone, Seventh Sense, better), do not read Paragon unless you wanna waste your time with an overrated fic that's only famous bc it attempts to shock the reader (it's not shocking). Instead go for Herringbone which does not mischaracterize and actually shocks with how raw and beautiful it is. Both are pretty lengthy so you figure it out from there.

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love 💖
Hello love, thank you so much for sending this!!
First up is a story I wrote not too long ago "Mercy Mercy Please (The Monster in Me)" which is a Theo x Liam Teen Wolf fic that is an enemies to hate fuckers to lovers story with 20k words of dirty, nasty, kinky dub-con hate fucking lol I love this one so much because I haven't written this dynamic before and these two are just PERFECT for it.
Next up is "Prussian Blue" which is a Clark x Bruce superbat story in which Bruce gets irradiated to lethal levels and Clark frantically tries to find a way to stop him from dying, while also being forced to confront the depths of his feelings for Bruce. I love this one because it's angsty (big surprise LOL), but also because of the relationships I built between Clark and Alfred, and Clark and Bruce--I think they're well characterized and engaging. Plus I did a SHIT TON of research into the acute effects of radiation sickness and the treatments for it, which is where the title comes from--Prussian Blue is a pretty standard treatment for radiation poisoning!
My next one I'll talk about is hands down my favorite thing I've written in the last few years because it's so unbearably tender. "Ribs Cracked Open, A Home Made Within" is a Geralt x Jaskier story that came about because I had this idea that with his extra mutagens, Geralt would probably be hypersensitive to the point of pain, and wondered what that would look like within canon. I also really wanted Geralt to be handled with care and affection and tenderness because we never really see that in canon, and when someone is so hurt by the world and so self loathing, I desperately crave stories where they get to be treated tenderly.
Next is "Handful of Aces, Pocketful of Nines" which is a Holden x Bill Mindhunter story that came about after a rewatch while I was high and had my brain go galaxy mode and see them as a ship 😂This story follows canon and is filled to the brim with yearning, internalized homophobia, and so much angst it'll break your heart! I love this one because it's got so many tropes that I adore, and I think is a very compelling story of two people who don't know how to love each other, but also don't know how not to love each other.
Finally, is "Unbroken" which I consider to be my Steve x Tony magnum opus lol This story is my baby--I spent two years writing it, during which time I was in grad school, working full time, doing an internship and trying to get homework done. It's angsty and full of pining, hurt/comfort, whump, and all the other tasty tropes that I adore. It's a complicated story about a complicated relationship--Steve is found in the ice during Tony's childhood and comes to live with the Starks where he serves as a friend and protector for Tony. Tony loves him, and when life intervenes, they're married to protect Tony from being given to Obie--but that doesn't mean things get any easier. I do honestly think that this is the best thing for stony that I ever have and ever will write, and I hope more folks give it a shot despite that underage tag lol

Some waaaay over due fanart for a few of my fav mindhunter fics as I learn to draw these two. (Mostly Bill, why are you so tricky to draw??)
Info under the cut
Also forcing myself to post these & continue making more even if it’s not perfect to get over my weird freak hang ups
First pic is for lapsi’s Case by Case series on ao3 (specifically the second part because omg Holden on a bike absolutely sent me)
The second is for @tarantula-teeth’s a sudden red because of my god. Idk how many times I’ve laughed that hard at a fic but then also been equally deranged for the concept and world building. Chefs kiss, def drawing more for it ASAP cause Lord There Are Moments but I wanna tackle them when I’m better at drawing them :’))
Anyways sorry for rambling, the mindhunter community has so many talented writers its honestly spoiled me so rotten, so while I wish they’d make more of the show and more ppl would get into this pit I also don’t mind re reading what’s there over n over until I rot.
(My main blog is birdneydraws so if you see me liking stuff over there idk how to get it to only be from this blog as I’m 500 years old and A Ghost)

Fic roundup 2023
Did I meet my goodreads goal this year? No. Did I read a LOT of fic? You bet! These are my favorites:
Cooperative Gameplay by grayola Shameless (american) Ian Gallagher/Mickey Milkovich 421,889 words
I don’t care about video games or famous/nonfamous AUs generally. But this fic. ohmygod the sex scenes are so good and the whole thing is so achingly romantic and epic.
Do you need to have watched Shameless to read it? Well I think you SHOULD watch all of shameless on a month-long binge like I did. I think that would improve your life. But this is pretty AU and is probably not strictly necessary to have prior knowledge of the show.
Things Beyond Mistake by grayola Shameless (american) Ian Gallagher/Mickey Milkovich 130,497 words (WIP)
By the same author, this crushingly unfinished story about small towns and the South and longing—I know some people don’t read WIPs bc they don’t want to do this to themselves. I love pain. Let's all go leave very nice comments for the author so they will maybe finish this!!
Case by Case by lapsi Mindhunter Holden Ford/Bill Tench 165,441 words
Listen you SHOULD watch Mindhunter. But even if you haven’t, you may enjoy this real fucked-up kinda slow-burn romance between two people who are ruinously codependent and obsessive, among meticulously crafted mysteries. I will warn you, the ending for this had me pacing my apartment yelling “that’s it??!!!” for several hours after. But I am still wholeheartedly recommending this.
Missing Moments by @paperstorm 911 Lonestar TK Strand/Carlos Reyes 175,952 words
You should just read everything paperstorm has written. But this series in particular is such required reading for my Lonestar peeps. TK and Carlos at their angsty-iest, rawest, sexiest, most beautiful. This is the kind of show where I NEED to know more than the episodes alone give me and this fic gives so much more!! And I hear there is more on the way!
When Soulmates Swim by @carlos-in-glasses 911 Lonestar TK Strand/Carlos Reyes 53,187 words
TK and Carlos healing deep hurts both physical and mental, together! Canon-compliant AU! Sexy sexy sexy!
Magnetic North by paperstorm 911 Lonestar TK Strand/Carlos Reyes 145,796 words
Ok one more paperstorm! This one is for all my sports AU fans and hockey shippers. TK is a prickly hothead and secret addict who gets traded to Carlos' team. Carlos is just trying to be a good captain. Enemies to lovers! Hotel room intrigue!
don't forget to read the fic I published this year, i can't afford to want you more, a series of TK/Carlos character moments from s01 featuring lots of angst and sexytimes

ah thank you for the tag @punch-aholic i can very much assure you simon that the obsession over works is mutual ;-; 💚
Last Song: i needed to cheer up so on a ragga tip by sl2 was required
Currently watching: i'm suffering through the last season of the x-files, and i started hannibal! i'm also doing soft watches, so impractical jokers and bobs burgers have been saving my depressed soul
Currently Reading: yeah i am. not great right now. i am reading fics when i see them come across my dash but no one is writing right now it feels lol and other than comics, as far as books go, i am part way through mindhunter, gef the talking mongoose, and a filthy little peter vronsky number (i might go back and read methods and madness instead of sons of cain though)
Current Obsession(s): it is as always dc and my beloved rogues, but to be slightly more interesting i am still insane over x-files, i am going insane over farkas and vilkas in skyrim (still haven't decided who to marry yet in this playthrough) and i am going feral for indiana jones oops
Tag people you want to get to know better!:
i want to tag everyone because i want to get to know everyone better and these are super cute questions!! but i'll actually put in the effort to tag people this time
@comicsbi-thebook @selkymaiden @swugflower @kannibaleherzen @your-rib-cage @lovesick-on-the-loose @0-rosestorm-0 @ybkayley @glorified-monster

tv show recs:
something 2015ish (means 22 episodes, 40ish min log) -> limitless tv show (continuation of the movie), kind of white, mc is manic pixie dreamboy but he wears the coolest sweaters, fun times. i would take that drug.
if you are good with horror and have not watched mike flanagan's stuff id rec it. if you are not good w horror i would still rec haunting of hill house because it is heartwrenchingly beautiful. but ya it has scary points.
i watched mrs davis recently and the tv show is bonkers, but episode 9 pays off bcs the reveal is great. perfect if you are like a person who has worked with code and programming. also there is jesus there and he lowkey hot.
fisk on netflix (australian and funny af)
succession (my top 3 ever) if you havent seen it - billionaires are horrible people but the dialogue slaps. no but fr this show is so high in quality
love death robots
mindhunter (fincher is cool, interesting topic, leaves you wanting more imo)... also about serial killing and all so if u dont like that oops
DIRK GENTLY HOLLISTIC DETECTIVE AGENCY (forget everything else, give this a shot, but like just... it's a tumblr insane show)
anne with an e - perfect for fall vibes! also anne would have had a tumblr
if you like animated stuff i enjoyed final space so much, it's a cute lil animated series
also archer, which is less cute and more satirical
the boys and gen v on prime are fun (if violent and gory)
the white lotus - again horrible rich people, some karma
or go with an old classic: buffy the vampire slayer (though that has a lot of seasons)
omg omg so many suggestions, thank you!!! i obviously must answer them point by point haha
i did not know there was a limitless tv show haha. would also 100% take that pill PLSSSS i would be unstoppable
i asked for tv shows because i just spend weeks binging all the mike flannagan shows haha. i really likes hill house but i don't think anything is going to top midnight mass for me (which was my first flannagan that i watched last year!)
oh i'd never heard of mrs davis but it sounds cool!

i have seen literally everyone and their mother talk about succession and how good it is but i'm just a bit scared that it would end up being overhyped haha. regardless, it's on my list so thanks for reminding me of that
love death robots <333 i love that show!!
same for mindhunter!!! i will not forgive david fincher for abandoning it like how dare he (me when i abandon fics)
